    Evertune are absolute chads for making this bridge happen through Aristedes! I'm one of those people who have been wanting Evertune to make a multiscale version of their bridge for a long time, basically ever since I learned how the bridge worked. Each saddle is its own module so you'd think going multiscale would be naturally the next step in the evolution of the Evertune bridge! I'm super excited to see what Evertune will do with this in the future!

    I think it's a sick and a good step forward.
    Having played a 25.5-27" Multiscale since 2018, it would be incredibly nice to have a multiscale with an evertune bridge.
    But for the future of guitar as a whole, I bet it'll be companies trying incredibly radical innovations (like Verso) that will truly expand the instrument itself.

    depending on how low you tune multiscale can start to do you no good. for example im in f standard 7 string on 27" and couldnt imagine pulling it off right at 25.5" on the treble side. the 27" isnt just stretching out the low notes but making sure i dont have to use a wound 3rd and can actually use normal high strings when tuning low.

    I picked up the new Solar 29 inch 7 string with an Evertune and it doesn't feel offensively big to me, but like a familiar friend coming from playing an Agile 8 string with a 27 inch scale. Certainly the upper limit of length I'd want, but definitely allows me to get down to drop whatever without having to go above a 70 or so on the low string. I could never really get comfortable with multiscales, but I'd for sure want to try a newer Evertune model. Truthfully more interested in Evertune for bass but this is no doubt a huge development too.

    Peter from unearth introduced me to evertune a while ago. He swears by them and i love that you can put it in a bend or non bend mode, i love the concept. What i would love to see is an evertune that doesn't take a lot of wood out of the body so maybe something more compact. I exclusively play esp guitars and an iconic head with either the Friedman BE-OD or highwind direwolf, a Revv g8, and a 6 band EQ, ran through a 2x12 & 4x12 with different speaker combos, specifically celestion, eminence, and wgs

    This is amazing! I'm so excited for this, once it gets replicated and perfected and developed by bigger companies like ESP it will be revolutionary. Comparable to the invention of the Floyd Rose. Makes sense aesthetically to put on a multiscale guitar that didn't have Evertune but I'm confused as to function. I thought Multiscale was already for intonation and tension involving fixed bridges. Evertune does this with standard guitars, keeping things in tune. Multiscale and Evertune is now just super implementation and I'm wondering if this might actually make things sound smaller. I always thought that Telecasters with the way they intonated the limited 3 pc bridges similar to the way a piano is tuned is freaking genius and actually makes the instrument sound bigger and more musical. Is the goal practicality with instruments? Or is it functionality? Just thoughts that come to mind rapidly - not a direct critique of the Multi-Evertune because I've not tried it yet myself :)

    • @KeyanHoushmandLive
      @KeyanHoushmandLive  8 місяців тому +2

      Any guitar that is tuned low without an Evertune will never have the tuning stability of an Evertune. I don’t think people realise that people are not being extra when they say that an evertune will literally keep your guitar in tune forever. If you play a standard fixed bridge 7 string, I can guarantee you that those strings will deviate from where you tuned them in about 10 minutes. Even if it’s only a couple cents each string, it’s still enough to be noticeable, especially in a recording environment.

      Agree. I am really familiar with Evertune. My unfamiliarity is with specifically EvertuneMultiscale, which at this point being brand new, everyone is. My real question is in shooting out standard Evertune with an Evertuned multiscale. Will there be benefit at that point? Or diminishing returns? Evertune is already dope but for example to take this to the extreme...imagine evertune, multiscale, and with true temperment frets. @@KeyanHoushmandLive

    This will definitely have its market but for me personally it’s a hard pass. I’m from the John Browne & Olly Steele school of thought where the slight deviations in pitch are what makes a playing style / sound unique and have character. Might as well just programme midi if the ultimate goal is just a perfect (lifeless ?) sound.

      So I’m very intrigued by these things, as I’m super picky about keeping everything in perfect tune.
      However, I’m afraid the unique characteristics of my, and anyone else’s, playing will be lost.
      It almost seems soul sucking for an expressive instrument like guitar.
      Every note has a little something on it based on how I hit it, pull it, or bend it, and the evertune seeks to neutralize all of that human variation.
      Again, I’m just speculating.

      For real though, it’s going to remove that personal element from the sound.

    • @William_Earl
      @William_Earl 8 місяців тому +1

      I gave a thumbs up. I agree, I imagine someone who plays this exclusively with the bridge set to fixed will sound not nearly as great if you hand them a standard hard tail guitar or floating bridge, just because of all the little nuances that come with finger pressure and unwittingly bending notes when sliding or gripping too hard. Too many guitar players think that just because they are pressing the correct fret and hitting the string at, more or less, the right time, they are playing it right.
      However, I imagine this will be a godsend for live bands that require extreme accuracy or producers who need to cut guitar tracking time. I would love this for some guitars, especially if I was still playing in my old techy, progressive deathcore band.

    • @alexjay8823

    • @benstanfill363
      @benstanfill363 8 місяців тому +2

      There's still slight variations in pitch, you just don't go completely out of tune. You can bend, you can let the guitar sit, you can strum as hard as you want, it won't go out of tune, but it's a mechanical system so it's not perfect. There's still friction so there's a little pitch variation, just not a noticeable amount. I tune my guitar about once every 2 weeks if I'm playing an hour or so every night. It's a god send for recording and I imagine live too.

      Jess's hail to imperfect pitch. I have to get on my knees in the face of such artistic souls....yeah l never hear such an unrealistic notion! • @benstanfill363
      @benstanfill363 8 місяців тому

      Not quite. The each saddle is part of a module and all the modules are held in by a comb. You can move the saddles a little in the comb but I don't think to this degree. So they'd have to modify or get rid of the comb, make some new system to hold all the modules together and in place, then redesign the housing to fit the modules. I don't imagine anything in the actual modules has to change.

      Evertunes don’t make your strings feel any tighter, it will just actively move the mechanical saddles as a string is moving in order for the pitch to be the same. Scale length and string gauge will have a much bigger impact on how tight that string feels to pick through

    • @KeyanHoushmandLive
      @KeyanHoushmandLive  8 місяців тому +2

      The bridge needs to be slanted to match the slant of the fan. If the saddles don’t line up with the fan, the intonation and tuning of that string will never be accurate. I’m not sure how Ormsby did it without running into that issue, but I wouldn’t really call that guitar a true fan fret multiscale anyway

    It almost seems soul sucking for an expressive instrument like guitar.
    Every note has a little something on it based on how I hit it, pull it, or bend it, and the evertune seeks to neutralize all of that human variation.

    I think people who've never played an evertune don't understand how it works. It is not the same as programming a midi guitar. Everything that influences your sound on a normal guitar is still in effect. Every bend, bit of vibrato, pick dynamic, literally everything. There's even very minor pitch fluctuations when picking really hard, but, and this is why evertune is amazing, those little pitch fluctuations aren't enough for the guitar to sound out of tune. The guitar just stays in tune. Everything else is the same. All the nuance of guitar playing is still there. You're only doing yourself a disservice to not play one. Take 20 minutes to learn how to set it up and it is well worth the investment.
