Isnt the whole critique that sneako is running around cosplaying as a devout muslim and calling other people haram, while he himself is living this haram life.
Destiny critiqued sneak for it and then directly went to the parenting stuff. But Destiny never said he is the father of the year or was grandstanding that people eho are bad parents are bad people.
Totally fair to call out sneakos hypocrisy here.

    • @_Xds_

Yea but this videos not about tht. He says it in the beginning of the video he's not supporting sneako. Sneako grandstanding about his life is a different issue. Noone said destiny is grandstanding about being a perfect dad, but he is grandstanding about his personal attacks. and in this case what destiny was bringing up/threatening was extremely harmful, and importantly was not public info. Like what sneako attacked

  • @yakamashii7039

The difference is sneako's response was already public knowledge. They both brought up personal stuff but the things he brought up about sneako were private and alleged.

I love when people accuse others of something they are clearly guilty of. It's almost like they believe that throwing it out first (without any added details) somehow provides them with the strength to not even approach the possibility of being guilty. Actually commit to doing some research on confirmation bias and motivated reasoning, then you will at least slightly understand just how incorrect your conclusion is.

This video's weird. You say it's not a defense of Sneako and more a critique of Destiny but you don't hold Sneako to the same level of scrutiny as Destiny. You say Destiny is a deadbeat father therefore he shouldn't be giving relationship advice and yet Sneako is rebranding himself as a follower of Islam and participating in the most haram acts possible. Just because Sneako predicted that people would call him out on his hypocrisy, doesn't mean they are wrong. It dosen't matter if the mistake happens in your public or private life because your religion is apart of you, public or private.
Also, if Sneako had an actual rebuttal to the comic in question, he would've looked better. Instead, he brought someone's kid into it.

“You seem uncritically to flip-flop on ideas”
“So anyway, let’s talk about your son “
The gloves were off at that point, and I don’t really blame his response not being squeaky clean.
This isn’t a call out, but would you consider going on his stream to discuss this? If you’ve been watching him recently, you definitely know people that disagree with him and get on all the time. Again, I’m not saying this antagonistically, might be an interesting discussion.

the gloves were off when destiny posted that meme, and sneako responded with the slightest of jabs.
destiny can justify his behaviour all he wants with this moral, epistemic talk but at the end of the day its only his own values and no one else's, and destiny not expecting sneako to fight back is kind of absurd and self-centered.
i think destiny realizes that he looks like the bad guy in the situation, since he didn't bother fighting back on twitter where he will look just ridiculous, and instead goes to complain on his stream where people will always agree with him.

You misrepresent (or misunderstand) what Destiny is saying when he calls something a personal attack vs not. You assert that he conflates leaking personal information with personal attacks. He does not. He's saying two things, and YOU are the one conflating the two. 1) He's saying that attacking him for his son is a personal attack because it is not related to his positions on issues,, whereas his attack on Sneako was related to his tendency to adopt positions on issues, rather than his personal off-screen behavior. 2) He's also saying that it's easier to make personal attack regarding his off-screen behavior because information about that behavior is public, whereas for Sneako it's not. YOU are the conflating these two points, by suggesting that he's defining personal attack as public vs private info, and then using that misrepresentation to allege hypocrisy.
I think Destiny says a lot of dumb things, but this isn't one of them. For example, Destiny is not actually correct about point #1. Both him and Sneako were making personal attacks. The difference is that his attack on Sneako's character was related to how he conducts himself on stream, and Sneako's attack on his character relates to his conduct off-stream. There is a distinction to be made, to be sure, but I don't think it's accurate to label that distinction as whether something is a "personal attack." That being said, this point is mostly semantic, and our evaluation should be on a the actual differences between those 2 attacks, and not on the public vs private bullshit that your video takes us down.

Destiny makes fun of sneako for the dumb phrasing about the tik tok psy op. Then you play a clip from a different context where he acknowledges social media being a problem, then you act like this is some sort of hypocrisy?
Same with that moralist bit… he was saying how nonsensical it is to refer to yourself as a moralist because basically everyone’s politics is based off of some kind of morality. As a professed feminist, you'd think Destiny would subscribe to the notion that "the personal is political," since that's one of the major ideas that has guided American feminism. With that being said, I don't really get the impression that Destiny is a deadbeat dad. I mean the guy's a millionaire and I'm sure his kid is well taken care of. Although I guess Sneako's point isn't with reference to how good of a father he is today, but regarding his decision to leave Nebraska and go to Miami. But couldn't it be argued that that was the right thing to do since it paid off and his kid's life is going to be much better as a result of that decision than it would've been otherwise?
I don't know, I think if I were to criticize Destiny about anything with reference to his role as a father, it would just be the way he tolerates his wife's behavior when she's actively humiliating him in public, because his son will most certainly be bullied or made fun of by other kids as a result of that stuff if it isn't already happening.

The reason he leaks that stuff is because Sneako 1) lies about how his life works and what he does along with pushing his lifestyle onto other people and has a highly specific self-image, and 2) he gossips about other people's lives like a bitchy schoolgirl and won't hesitate (remember the Moist Critical incident?).
You tried to come off as neutral and nuanced but from the comments and stuff like "It was funny when Sneako made fun of Destiny's fatherhood" it's pretty obvious you were biased from the start.
And theres just bad faith stuff all over. You completely missed the point with him saying that Sneako's goals are for his career not for family. The whole point about Sneako is he toes the line between being a grifter and being so stupid he actually huffs his own product. The grift comes from the fact that he posts weak workout pics and videos in front of a view of a city from an expensive apartment and he points to this for "Look self improvement". No its not self improvement. He's a glorified instagram model.

Destiny is excellent at debate but he isn't without chinks in his armor. The three major issues I have seen in his debate style are: prone to hypocritical positions when emotionally charged, gish-galloping (he's greatly reduced his frequency of this but it's still there), speaking in specifics until the specifics do not support his view in which case he falls back on generalities heavily. He likes to say that he's fair to the other side but he cannot go long periods of time without generalizing his opposition.
In his most recent appearance on Tim Pool's show, Destiny made generalizations about conservatives on a few occasions and the first that comes to mind was his reference to Mulan and how that movie would not be accepted by conservatives today despite its positive reception in the 90s. He made the mistake of believing that conservatives just dislike strong female characters which is definitely not true. Mulan was accepted because it embraced the biological realities of men and women, while Mulan used her wits to overcome the obstacles she could not overcome with a man's strength. Mulan was a determined female character that had weaknesses and wasn't made to spit in the face of the average person for the sake of a political agenda.

    • @googley98

@googley98 The traditions of roughly 400-500 AD in China (the time the poem was originally based). Some parts of the world still hold similar values to those times but not the western world. Women were already contributing to society long before Disney's Mulan had come out.
Her being a female protagonist doesn't spit in the face of tradition because there have been women who have accomplished plenty throughout history and are considered strong women by people on both the left and right. The movie did not go out of its way to shit on men in favour of propping up girl power. If she was a Mary Sue who was more skilled than her male counterparts in every way with no perceivable character flaws, then I'd say an agenda is being pushed; especially if the movie were taking constant, unnecessary jabs at men for being evil or "toxic".

    • @googley98
      @googley98 10 місяців тому

      @@defiantlydefiant
      Are you being intentionally obtuse?
It's a story about a girl stealing her father's armour to become a soldier in his place instead of a bride - it's anti-traditionalist at its core, even today. Historically admired women by traditionalists are almost always just propped up by other men.
As for the whole crapping on men to prop up women, if that just means a women looks powerful in media when a man looks weak, to me this is nonsense. It's literally Anita Sarkeesian's argument that women being kidnapped in media is shitting on women in reverse.
As for Mary Sue's, what does the concept of a badly written character without flaws have to do with women inherently? Why not just call it bad writing? There are male 'Mary Sue's' all over the place and some of them are loved, it's just a weird double standard to me.

    • @defiantlydefiant
      @defiantlydefiant 10 місяців тому

@googley98 Clearly, you're making an assumption that people who are right of center on the political spectrum place tradition above all else to the point that they cannot accept anything that breaks the bounds of those traditions. You're free to correct me on my own assumption; I'm simply basing it on your responses.
Conservatives as a whole are not hellbent on denying anything outside of the realm of tradition. There are some but they do not speak for the majority, especially not in the western world. If that were the case, then women would still have extremely limited roles in society today.
Countless conservatives are fine with progress in various areas at a controlled pace with some hard lines drawn in other areas. Not all conservatives are looking to drive women back into the home to be stay at home moms. What is important to conservatives about the man/woman dichomety is that we acknowledge the differences the sexes possess, which is something that Mulan explored fairly well without backhanding its male viewers and highlighting that women can be strong in their own way too.
There's an explicit difference between showing a woman being competent amongst men and repeatedly reinforcing the bad qualities of men while only highlighting the good qualities of women like we see with increasing frequency in the media today. I brought up Mary Sue characters because some modern movies are looking to push the agenda that men are toxic and women are all beautiful, wonderful and without flaws. They are often pretty on the nose with the addition of Mary Sue characters as their leads to mantle their poltiical opinipns.
Gary Stu characters also exist but a lot of people have issues relating to uncompelling characters like that as well. And with the current progressive bent pushing back against anything that's too masculine, Gary Stus are less likely to be found in modern media anyway; with the exception of pre-existing, long-running characters.

Destiny seems to do this a lot. When someone comes at him and he doesn't like it he starts making it about the form of the attack or the specific subject of it that he doesn't like.
For some reason he seems to think criticism of him has to be in his preferred method and arena. HE'S free at any time to decide what he attacks YOU on and you're expected to stay within those boundaries or not escalate the situation he starts.
He did this with leafy recently as well.
Honestly I think this comes from never having to really defend himself from a position of weakness.
He doesn't really start shit with people that have solid arguments or positions. It's always low hanging fruit, very flawed people or those who aren't equipped to properly retaliate.

3:42 Yeah he generally doesn't judge, but will say on a podcast what Andrew Tate must be miserable and sad for having such materialistic lifestyle (not like i disagree, it's just people who claim to be non-judgemental are usually the ones who are).
Also comment about one-sided open relationships are cringe, bro he is in one. Check Dr. K podcast with malena, she said what steven doesn't like when shes dating other people, so she doesn't do it. Things might have changed, but even then its pretty hypocritical to call it cringe where you were in that type of relationships in the past.

Are you being ironic? Because being far left is correlated with high psychopathology, criminality, being high in only the individualizing moral foundations, etc, while being religious and identifying as further right on a spectrum is correlated with the opposite. There are "sjws" of the right who are narcissistic and thus high in psychopathology yet high in purity or some other trait that makes them identify with the right more broadly, though usually something like fascism/third position, but they are quite rare always online types found in niche communities

Although u made some points, this video leaves out a lot of context
If anything Destiny is the most good faith and most real friend Sneako has in the space. It's not when Sneako crosses the line and not only calls Destiny a dead beat dad, and lies about having a relationship with Melina, that Destiny has to cut him off. They've had civil debates, but their situation has become someting more personal than something that is epistemic or politcal.
