This is a great video, a public service, really. And I endorse the choice of Lunazul. It's my go-to blanco tequila, because of the bang for the buck, even though I will go a little upscale for reposado and even more upscale for añejo.
Siempre is a good upscale, Blanco or reposado, of course then there’s Don Julio as well, I just don’t use those for parties where people may not appreciate the price tag. And I’m bringing cocktails, nobody is paying :-)
Excellent video! I too buy the large family size bottles and transfer them to the smaller more manageable size bottles. As a drinking bartender, I appreciate simple drinks, so I don't have to try and remember all the different ingredients. I remember one of your past videos about the 'Perfect Margarita', with the 4 basic ingredients, and I like salt. Having a mustache, I don't care for the salted rim. I just either float some bar salt on my ice or maybe shake it in the drink. Really enjoyed this video! :)
yeah, this cocktail is basically the same -- you don't need a ton of ingredients to make a solid margarita, people just are too scared and intimidated. And most of the restaurant ones are just margarita + a fruit juice and fancy name.
just made a 128 oz of margarita with the dark syrup, I didn't notice anything off-putting about it, but it did give it such a color that it didn't "look" like a margarita.
I’m sure it’s a mistake on UA-cams part, they’ve been burying my content for 8+ years; no doubt a mistake they accidentally let people know about this one :-)
@@cmcocktails No kidding.. stuff is expensive anymore.. I just don't want High Fructose Corn Syrup in my cocktail... I'm afraid cheap Triple Sec probably has that... Hey AI says Dekuyper doesn't have it. Dekuyper for the win!
I doubt it, unless they have a different recipe for other countries, many countries don’t allow HFCS. But, then again what is the fear of HFCS if your literally poisoning yourself with alcohol :-)
@@cmcocktails I hear ya. LOL. Unfortunately, in the remote hinterlands I live in there aren't a lot of choices. As ridiculous as it sounds, we feel fortunate to have our little Wal Mart.
Derrick love these one on one conversations especially the breakdown of the cocktail.
Quote”Eff that”. ❤
Thanks!

I did find that Republic makes a very nice selection of organic margarita mixes for those quick margaritas! Just add tequila! ;)

My tips would be to use super lime juice and make sure to use light agave syrup. If it's the dark syrup, it adds an off-putting taste.

Holy crap this just appeared in my feed after years of it not showing up for some reason. Maybe the algorithm is wising up? Anyway, hi.

Awesome... prefer Cointreau but this looks good
yeah, that's definitely going to raise the price per cocktail :)

@@cmcocktails I prefer "natural" poison. 😁
Limes 25 cents apiece at Wally World in Northern New England.
Nice, I’d pay $0.20 extra never to go into that hellhole tho :-)

I like my margaritas made with Mezcal. Is it technically a margarita still? 😂
well, tequila is a mezcal, so you're good to go anyway
