This game seems really nice. The guns pack a punch, feel very responsive and impactful. The visuals bother me a little. Not because is pixel art, but because sometimes is so blurry I feel like I'm watching without glasses. Can't really see shapes and details. I hope they sharpen this a little more.
There are graphical settings and I think there are some that change the sharpness but I may be wrong I haven’t played in a while
The game has potential. Needs more character customization and mods then it'll be golden.
Phase 1 Update is coming with workshop support, so hopefully a ton of fun mods starts coming in when its out

Got 130 hours on this so far. It's awesome. Best 10.00 I spent in a long time on steam. I have like 10-15 new games I haven't even touched because of this game. Every time I start one of the others my mind drifts back to Zed Zone. Play on "Realistic" (Hard Mode) and Guns "Total Ban" and NO CLOTHES to start it's really fun and a good fight your lucky to loot anything for offence everything you use is crafted by you.
Been playing the hell out of it. The combat is so satisfying
Is there an option to reduce the lightning effect? I can't say I care for the constant flashes.

Why is the UI over complicated so much clicking just to craft something (open inventory -> open crafting -> click on what you want to craft -> drag items -> craft -> drag into inventory) you'd be dead in a tense situation, eveything feels a bit overcomplicated and just needs to be stream lined, other than that i love the looks and feels excited to get my hands on it.
Not clunky by any means overcomplicateded doesnt mean bad, it just can get annoying after a while i can still enjoy the game as is

It's a fun game, I'm glad they're updating it quickly! I wonder if they tuned the zombie HP a bit, since I don't remember them going down to single shots as easily on release day.

Did you almost die from not sleeping? Im pretty sure the graphics are a combination of higher resolution image tiles and pixel graphics with a pixel filter to make them blend together. That would make it easier to animate parts of game, animating pixels can be difficult. Actually a very clever technique. Seeing you push through your fears is really nice to see.
Late to the comment party, but I am interested in watching you continue with a part 2 and, if you get enough views, start a adventure series similar to what you've done in PZ. I saw Zed Zone pop up in my Steam discovery queue but I was not sure if it would satisfy my addiction to zombie survival/post-apocalypse games. What you have shown us of Zed Zone was enough to get me to purchase it and play. Thanks for sharing with us and helping me decide to pull the trigger.
I was waiting for you to play this game after I saw the trailer on Steam. It looked like a more action oriented zomboid, so it screamed at me Ambiguous Amphibian!

Played it and the game is nice but it could be polished to be better. Though personally as a dude that enjoys base building in survival games like PZ, hope they would improve the building aspect of the game.
I suck at these games lol but I would definitely want more videos of this! It looks fun and interesting.

ive worn triple pairs of pants to work because it was negative 20 degrees F and i was a bicycle delivery person :C game is relatable.
When I first started my current job, I was having to walk in the middle of winter too, and I lived about a mile out of town, roughly three away from my job. Worst day was -50 with wind-chill. Wore two to three of everything, even coats and balaclavas.
I went to college in South Dakota and a warm day was 2 pairs, I feel this comment in my bones.

Autism would be very hard to put into a game without it causing offense mainly because it's so varied from experience to experience

Typical, sadly society sees us as "rainman" due to media and general ignorance.
Personally i find it offensive to put that in a game as a negative trait. Hope they will see and remove the trait, although i doubt they care since they added it in the first place.

I do recommend returning to C:DDA too! But - big but! There was an unscrupulous member on the dev team who chose to abuse the collaborative's ineptitude in american legalese, took the entire body of work, and put it on STEAM for private, personal monetary benefit. This, of course, not only steals from the goodwill and work of many, but also threatens the entire collaborative nature of the game project.
IDK what the project members were thinking either tbh. Whole lotta supremely creative and intelligent, beautifully human dumbasses at work.
Life Pro Tip for Capes....
As far as an actual functional and good cape that looks kind of cool, it's a good idea to get a military surplus wool blanket and make/acquire a brooch. I made one, so it looks very simplistic, and therefore more masculine. Buying a decorative brooch these days can run the risk of looking kind of girly.
But anyway... you can pre-cut the holes so you don't have to poke the brooch through each time, and then sew them so they are open, but don't fray, and you can wear it so you have a hood. It is also very warm. I've used it in my house when I had no heating and I was fine. It's also good for hiking trips.
It's also reasonably cheap... and since it is either olive, forest green, or grey (grey wool blankets are usually navy ones) it looks rustic like a real cape from a fantasy movie.
So you look the part, you'll be warm, and it's not expensive. Just don't put it in the dryer or you will have massive bits of fluff coming out of it. It's also best to wash in cool water with regular soap, but you don't need to wash wool often, because it is naturally anti-biotic and is very much not prone to molding the way wet cotton is.
Since it is wool, you can wear it in the rain. You will get wet, and it will soak through, but it will still insulate very well.
Just get one that is twin matress sized and you'll be good.
