Since you liked the demo of this and want to look at more old school games, if you haven’t heard of Sword Of The Stars: The Pit, you should give it a look! Similar plastic bag inventory management, very similar play style, same dopamine spike when you stumble across rare/overpowered weapons. It’s siphoned 300+hrs off my lifespan like some kind of time vampire so far.
you cannot beat sword of the stars the pit without basically running directly to an exit, you do not know where it is, and getting lucky enough to be able to run to it. I could not recommend people avoid the pit harder despite having a thousand hours of game time under my belt.
More like hoard of the stars. Played it for 21 hours and never managed to get more than dozen of basic recipes. Maybe I'm unlucky or doing something wrong, I see what the game trying to do, but I don't want to waste runs making tech characters just for chance of some recipes.
Played this game and finished it, I gotten to the point where I can play it like we're doing it real time. Enemy can bleed to death, burn to death, you can right click on them to examine their status if they are still alive. Right click can open menu to what you want to do with doors, or just close door. Space bar to skip an action point, could be useful for preventing you instantly dying with room filled with assault rifle and jackhammer wielding gunner. because as soon as you use the last action point to open door, enemy facing you will immediately get their turn to shot the crap out of you. Running stance gives you 3 action point to work with per turn, but no interaction with door, storage, items on floor and bag but you can use item in your belt. you can open door, move into cover, switch to running stance and then mow down the enemy. Quasimorphosis is indication of how aware the demonic entity are on you, greater quasi means cultist and pmc can randomly get possessed and turn into skinned, hound, greater demon. It also strengthens demons. Demon take time to phase into reality, they will be temporarily invincible to harm. (Though apparently fire and concussion grenade still effects them) Demon do not like smokers, they hate getting bronchitis.
You can also right click the enemies to view their action points and inventory. Allows you to be more aware of their movement and save time looting. Plus, if they don't have ranged weapons, you can shoot without worrying about cover. Sprinting is particularly useful for risk free shooting. Three actions allow for 1. Ducking out a corner. 2. Shoot 3. Duck back in. It was a game changer for me lol. However, it consumes way more hunger. Walking consumes 2. Sprinting consumes 10. So I only save it for combat. Tried saving turns by sprinting everywhere but ran down my food pretty quickly :) Sneaking can save turns if you're crafting or looting multiple bodies since it doesn't consume actions while interacting with your inventory, bodies, doors or crafting tables. Vest reload time reduction only applies when you put ammo in your hotbar slots and reload by pressing the number key for the slot.
30:59 It seems that the mutants have one turn of invulnerability on mutation. When they have those particles around them, all your shots seem to miss. Best to do something else when that happens. Reload, reposition attack another targer etc. Edit: Yup, it's in the help menu. It says that they're in between dimension mid-summoning. So they can't attack or be attacked.
I love your hour long vods to drift off to sleep to. Not that the video is boring, but your voice so calming and easy to listen to. I typically queue up vods to act like white noise 😊
I absolutely love AA and his vods, but the fact that he kept long-distance spraying full-auto fire from a shotgun with a range of 3 made me want to scream.
Advice; Reload the guns when you are going to throw away ammo. That way you you are always fully loaded. Even if there is "a lot" of ammo around, and in most runs you will never be starved of ammo, it still is better to not need the ammo than need it but not have any.
For some reason, the aesthetic in this game reminds me SO MUCH of some spoopy jungle Jurassic Park dinosaur game i played on my, was it Super Nintendo or was it Sega? Dude i LOVED those old top-down "you're just a guy alone in the jungle with dinos" Jurassic Park games. They were as atmospheric as this game.
I checked out the demo game after your review, i must say, it was rather good, really enjoyed it even after i softlocked myself a bit due to lack of tech chips i found. The last mission was quite hard having only pump shotgun unlocked. The rising tension among with the q-morph lvl, great soundtrack, feeling like the doomguy, who, depending on the run, either getting it tactical way or had enough of entity BS. Can't wait for the EA release!
Hope you play CDDA and SS13 someday soon! They're really fun and challenging in their own ways. Anyways, can't wait to play this game for myself. It looks like good fun.
the second last level in the demo is a nightmare. there is a guy with gatling gun he one shots you even with max armor. but somehow i completed that mission after countless tries
😼Yeah, this game's really fun. The only real issue right now is resource balance. I'm swimming in ammo and food, so the best strategy is to always use full auto unless it's a gun with a high accuracy penalty, like the assault rifle. Then you basically never need to heal.
@@AileTheAlien I don't even know what the best strategy is anymore since I reached the third mission. Been using a minigun with inventory loaded with ammo but the enemies there are so strong they killed me anyway
I have been playing a lot of this game, so seeing some of your mistakes is so frustrating, but if you play more, hopefully you learn from your mistakes
Hello, friend, if you like these games, then try "Space Rangers 2 Dominators".This is an old game from a Russian studio that has not existed for a long time.
@@charliewhammy Oh no I not trying to dis AA. Hes great and hopefully is getting paid for his advertisement of these games. I always forget how insanely high Americans metabolisms are. Fifty cups of noodles to walk a lap of an office building 😂😆😅
It is insane how fast you are finding some of the elevators in this demo compared to the state of the game now.
To be fair, I was on a level where the next elevator was in the room directly south of the elevator I just used. This was about 2 days ago.

Need more Quasimorph content!
Extraction game expanding on the FPS from Tarkov to Hunt Shodown is already unbelievable, having other genres explored is perfection.
5:03 I think you get the second slot by leveling the Training skill or whatever the thing that gets xp with every shot is.
It's like Zero Seivert, Zomboid, and CDDA all blended into a scifi package. I'm totally down for this.
Enemy: Mutates
Me: "Really? Right in front of my laser rifle?"
😼At 35:00 the door opened because a corpse was blocking it - you can even see the animation!
20:50 OH the bottom 3 slots ARE "secondary slots"; they are not taking up inventory space.
the character animation in this is kinda rad. Just a couple frames but kinda exaggerated in a neat way. Looks great. Fun idea for an extraction game
