A good day of flying that warbird! Sunny day and no clouds in sight, perfect weather to be rc-ing Eachine airplanes. And been a subscriber of yours since last year and haven't seen any video of you for the past several months, glad to see you're still enjoying your hobby! ❤
A lot of us like the 400mm Eachine warbirds, and they have been steadily improved, but brushless and 500mm span seems a good leap forward. It flew well with the standard Tx, but I'm sure that like the others it will be a much better experience with a multiprocotol hobby radio. The four bladed prop gives it a more scale look. Three and four bladed prop options have been provided with some of the smaller warbirds, but I've found the two blade ones always performed better. However, with brushless power available, this may not be an issue. I note that like the later versions of the smaller warbirds, there is a foam panel under the motor that can be popped out to get motor access. This was important for the brushed versions, as the motors do sometimes fail, but again this may be less of a problem with a brushless motor.
@@AndrewNewton Hello you two, welcome to the Miss Helen Club. I really enjoy flying the P51D, it even allows for beautiful ground takeoffs and landings. Greetings Martin from Germany
Not long after the next pilot took over it was Miss Nita. Fastforward to the late 80s and it was restored to fly in a movie and it was named Miss L. Just a note of plane`s names over the decades.
@@AndrewNewton Ordered mine not long ago and wow it showed up yesterday. Said shipping from China but they must have an outlet in the u.s. it came so fast. One thing I did before I fly it is I taped a coin to the nose as most times its a bit tail-heavy out of the box. I may find a 25c piece is too heavy idk yet. Maybe you can re-visit a flight with this on a calmer day. I think the wind was making it a bit of a rough go so let`s have a re-maiden. Cheers!
Always interesting to watch a Euclid driver crawling into the wife's Daihatsu mate. 😜😁 These are a great upgrade from the 400mm Mini Warbirds (not 300/350 😉) with the only proviso being that the pop-off prop system has to withstand the extra power while still mounted on a 2mm shaft. Means the plastic has been made a good bit harder (and more brittle) so get a few spares - we've already busted a prop and 1 1/2 adapters. You can fit a compression adapter or better saw the nose off a bit to add a rubber band mount - rough, but beats bending that little motor shaft. You missed the best upgrade on this (and the latest 400mm versions also I believe) in the "Mummy, I'm lost!" feature when us Old Farts lose 'em into the Taipan Country. Provided the battery is still connected you can set the buzzer off from the still-connected Tx or it will kick off itself when the plane battery goes to LVC. I think - though someone asserted that it is set off by the servos going to disabled after no Tx input for 30 secs. Supposed to give the servos a break if jammed up - but can be a bit disconcerting if left sitting on the bench while we dither around. This obviously wasn't recorded in the last couple of days down there. I take it they haven't recovered the kid who was blown into the drink yet?
Thanks for all the additional info! Recorded this morning when the wind finally abated, and no the poor kid is still missing. Wild winds and massive waves give him no chance unfortunately.
probably close to a year ago i bought the XK version of the 500mm p51 but with all the people getting hassled even with under 250g planes i decided it wasn't worth the headache so the plane is still sitting on the table in the unopened box collecting dust.....
Might I suggest waiting to turn the transmitter on until you have the battery in and the plane on the ground and level. That way when it finds the gyro is in the position it needs to be.. that may be why your bird went squirrely on take off
@@AndrewNewton Not a good idea if you are flying with some mates who are also running any of the EXHOBBY/Volantex Minis. If you turn your V761 protocol plane on BEFORE you have the transmitter that it is bound to turned on it will go looking for ANY V761 transmitter. AND 1 of your mates will be flying several planes at once! 😱🙄 These things are pretty tolerant to jiggling around at start-up - unlike some stabilized toys. Plus you CAN force a recalibration of the gyros' set Level Attitude before you arm the motor if you think you have a problem. 😊
Only if you get yourself a Spektrum or Lemon DSM satellite receiver. Plug that into the DSM socket on the flight board on these and you can use your Spekjunk transmitter. 😉😊

Thanks for the extra insights Laurie.
A+ for giving us the multiprotocol. God bless you, nice review, thank you.
Thanks, yes I wish everyone would include the relevant Multiprotocol. It takes some searching usually
Looks great, and flies really nicely. Good one, Andrew.
Yes, thanks
A fun little warbird! Nice demonstration Andrew! It's good they're putting these RX ports on the board now.
Yes indeed. Your's is flying very nicely now.

Hey Martin. Love your LIDLs
Would this be ok for my first plane? Just wondered. Totally ignorant really. Any help appreciated.
@@markandrew1067 Yes it would be easy to fly, but wouldn't teach you how to fly a normal unstabilised model
Ohhhhhh #1 …. You are getting into the hobby😜🤣 i can see you coming back to the old ‘spot’ to fly again. Great video mate. Love my little ones.
Ha thanks, it wouldn't be out of place out at the Marshall field
I have and am pretty happy with my eachine 400mm birds. This little upgrade seems really nice with brushless motor. super!

Darn fun police!
if you have already a radio from previous versions does it work with this one?
Maybe, if it uses the same RC protocol

Thanks for that 'crasher.
It can be bind with a multi protocol module?
Have to watch the video before asking questions
@@AndrewNewton 😓 I totally jump these part!!
Oops. Happy flying
Is it possible to bind it with a Spektrum NX8+ ?
No it would require a multi-protocol radio

fun one
Sure is
4:49 *I believe the battery is a 7.4V-400mAh, not 3.7V-400mAh.*
Well spotted, they did get that wrong in the specs.
But can it run a 1?
@@joshhill3052 Yep. But only if you connect 2 of 'em in series. 😜😁
This is all the same with Volantec 500mm P-51D, isn't it?
Might be
you need to show how to set it up on a "Propper" transmitter...
I sorta did, but do you think it warrants a full video?
@@AndrewNewton Yes, I think so.
