Hope you have a great wife who takes great care of you!😊 You're a great business man. This video should have a billion likes!! These millennials are more concerned about giving their favorite celebrity clicks and views instead of researching guys like this who really started from the bottom but came up by doing it the LEGIT way. It don't have to be law care business but this could be the blueprint for anyone who need that inspiration to start their own business. Great job!!👏👏👏👏👏
Congratulations to him on his success! A million dollars per year! That’s a lot of grass! Give the best service to your customers, get those referrals, and you’ll never run out of customers. Customer service is the most important thing for any business, and you seem to be doing it right. Many great ideas were expressed in this video, from the trucks he uses, to the phone service he uses to get new business.
My dad has landscaping business here in Chicago and when I was little he show me how to work I was 7 years old when he tought me and now I’m 20 years old I work for my dad now I got experience in driving walk behinds and stand on mowers like Wright stander toro bobcat.
It's a big operation he's got going on! The expenses are there I'm sure! Hopefully he can continue bringing in the revenue to cover everything. I'd like to get around 50-60 reliable yards and I'll be happy!
Cool company. I grew up in kingsport,tn in the 70 and 80's playing travel soccer with a kid by name of Julio salcido. His father was a chemist at Tennessee Eastman chemical co in kingsport,tn.
I've been doing this for 30 years. I went through the same cycle, but when I hit 12 employees, I changed my direction to be a minimalist. I now have just one, year round employee and personally make more money than I ever did with 12. I can't imagine the headaches you must have with all that overhead and 1000's of customers. Just wanted to know if you ever considered downsizing.
This is an awesome video very helpful. Lots of great ideas and tips.. I would love to ask him a couple questions. As right now I am working a stable job making over 20 per hour. But at the same time have over 40 customers. Trying to make the decision to leave my current job and do lawn care full time. Just kind of scared to be honest to make that jump. Keep these videos coming, very inspiring..
I worked for a landscaping company for over 15 years than i started doing jobs on the side until it came down to either staying at the company or quit to dedicate to my own company full time than i took the decicion and quit the company its been 5 years now im really busy and making more money it was the hardest decicion to quit but life is full of risks you have to take those risks and see were you can go
Hello have a question we are looking into upgrading to a npr landscaping truck. Please give me an advise. How big of a size engine we need and size truck. My opinion I'm thinking a crew cab with a 4.2 engine power. What do you think?
You’re successful life makes me realize that I’m lazy, and I need to step up and take my business all that way to the top, if you did it I can do it 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
That was a great installment on getting to know the pros seeing a big company and how they operate it's easy to implement some of those into a smaller company thanks a lot for your input and your I'm going to look at the pros damn Fontaine Rolling Hills Lawn Care
QUESTION: How would your call center of you quote a mulch job or clean up job without seeing the property? How would you know quantity of mulch or amount of clean up needed for example?
He only has them quote easily measurable services like mowing and fertilization, which are the main calls. Anything where turf square footage is needed can be measured online. The rest he does in person, like commercial property walkthroughs with management or owner. But there are also endless customer service calls that can be handled like billing questions. Like I personally get calls and emails about resending invoices out wanting to pay their bill. Lots of wasted time on the phone when can center can just tell them what to do for you.
Hi sir I wanted to ask if you can give some advice on how to bid for commercial mowing I got a call from churches chicken asking for just lawn service.
Was that one million in gross sales? Because I only have 3 crews and we are going to do about $750,000 in sales this year, but we didn’t get any snow. If we had snow it would be close to a million.
This guy has it figured out...I like the part where he talks about how he grew his biz and he tells the story of a guy that went out and spent 80k on a bunch of new equipment with only 6 lawns ! I see all these You Tube landscapers and they buy a new mower every season and they gotta have the new backpack blower on the market even though they already have one and I just laugh ! I have the same Mower from 8 years ago bought and paid for and it runs amazing..The new backpack blower never gets used cuz we just end up grabbing the hand helds cuz they are faster and lighter. Im gonna look into eliminating all trailers and go with a cab overs. Great interview very insightful
Maybe you speak espanish and read this felicidades por tu esfuerzo yo quiero empezar en esto aquí en Houston y creo que también mis niños me alludaran y posiblemente algún día ellos también se esfuerzen como tú felicidades amigo
Marvin, da man 😋 I second Callboss, the mentioned call Center is great to have. Obviously there’s some training and adjustments to be made like with any working relationship.
That's top line revenue. Didn't ask what his salary was. That's really up to the owner to decide how much they want to take home and how much they want to keep reinvesting into the business.
you can tell this guy lost alot of sleep in his time, and probably still does for the sake of building and maintaining a successful business. money doesnt sleep, neither should we.
He seems like a great guy to work for and considering his yearly revenue. That can be hard to find. I’ve watched other videos of lawn companies in this income bracket. Lets just say one of those was very disappointing to watch. The owner didn’t seem to care as much for employees.

Rare these days when employers treat you like you're disposable

My opinion I'm thinking a crew cab with a 4.2 engine power. What do you think?
Of course every body wants the most powerful truck. But I'm looking into gas efficiency.
Great story of success. That call center idea is awesome. I used one years ago for another business pre-voicemail era .
Is there a link for the call center? I am having trouble finding it. TIA
I have been waiting for this ever since you teased it on Instagram! 🤙
Thank you for waiting!

2. Who builds your landscaping beds for your trucks.
You have a very nice setup.

I believe so
Seems like with that many trucks they would have higher numbers.
Whats the name of your company?

Yep, we started using them on March 1st!
You should help my dad he’s been doing it solo for 28 years !! What can I do to get started
My question is, is the 1 mil after expenses and shit ? Or is that before expenses, and how much of it does he take home?
That's top line revenue. Didn't ask what his salary was. That's really up to the owner to decide how much they want to take home and how much they want to keep reinvesting into the business.
