I could seriously listen to David allllll day, he is SO fabulous!! I have the biggest issue with mascara smudging and smearing and I wear waterproof mascara everyday! I always set my under eyes and lids with a nude powder after priming but my skin is just sooo oily! I've found a few HG mascaras that work pretty well for me, but it's still a struggle! The tip about the nose really, really spoke to me! I have the biggest issue with foundation not clinging to my nose, I will absolutely try the concealer trick! And the kohl liner in the waterline, another FAB trick! I will be getting the Sephora nude kohl liner ASAP! Thanks for sharing!! 😘😘
no one does makeup tutorials for people who wear glasses. we are left out with the exception of a few like less than 5 vids. i have posted the request for years on all my fave UA-cams and got nothing! can we get a lil love too?
PagnePagne for the nose area carry around your concealer or beauty blender that has remaining foundation. Go to a bathroom remove the makeup off the nose and apply a little bit of concealer and then add powder. If you don’t want to do that carry around the powder with you and just pat it on when you feel oily. AVOID spraying too much setting spray on the nose. For eyeshadow don’t use too many colors because it hides your eyes more (especially because the frame casts a shadow on your face already) just do a simple light brown or light pink on the crease. As for liner, it’s up to you but the thicker the liner the more your eyes get hidden. Hope this helps a bit😅
I'm putting that beige Kohl eyeliner pencil on my Sephora shopping list because I've been having the same trouble with the Urban Decay eyeliners! Thanks for these tips!
you are so likeable and knowledgable! such a helpful video and you're such a natural on camera - loved these tips and definitely gonna get those kohl pencils now :) xx
I love the way Dave doing the tutorial videos. His voice is soothing, his easy breezy style, natural and likeable. i feel like already knowing him in person and been best friend with him for years everytime I see his tutorial videos . LOVE IT ❤️
Omg I've been watching makeup tutorials for 7 years now so I didn't think there was much else for me to learn makeup-wise. But in the first 30 seconds of this video I learned something new. This guy's amazing!!!
I tried the Sephora waterproof liner *over* the Revlon 2-in-1 kohl/kajal to color my waterline and it worked fabulously! It stayed 6+ hours--a miracle for my super watery eyes. It didn't smear my contact lenses either! I love you, David!
The Kohl eyeliner information is damn genius! Can you please go to my local Sephora & educate? Because I specifically asked this same question & literally got passed off to 4 different people & none of them told me this, they just kept passing me from brand to brand with product suggestions. I'm so irritated no one told me this. I'm totally going to buy tons of kohl pencils now. & I "powder" my lashes pre mascara / primer. It makes your lashes look fuller & plumper. It gives "grab power" to the mascara & makes it last longer. I love
Love this! Thx so much. I have an oily nose and I use a primer, go a little lighter on the foundation and set with powder. Yep, my nose is the same color as the rest of my face and I'm not re-applying powder nearly as much without this method. Hope this helps😊🙋🏾
+maserati chau if you're careful and pat the eyeshadow right on top of the eyeliner with a small detailed brush, rather than just putting it on with a shadow brush, it'll be less messy! :)
I have heard that gel eyeliner works really well in the waterline as well. I've also heard the ardency inn liner doesn't budge. I like to set it with a matching eyeshadow but I agree it isn't ALWAYS full-proof, but if you take the steps from the video and setting it but using a detailed small flat definer it would probably be best. I try very hard to avoid getting it in my eyes because it can be irritating. But I find that it works better than anything else I have tried for eyeliners that don't last on their own! ALSO! This is really random but I have been doing this lately and I have never seen anyone else do it.. I will take a brown eyeliner and put it on the outer portion of my waterline and then a cream nude shade on the inner part and then blend them together, I don't set it in this case but I find it looks awesome if your outer eyeshadow is darker and your inner is lighter, it looks great! Hope this helps :D
loved these tricks! definitely 4 most common beauty concerns. I've had troubles in all 4 of these areas, especially keeping makeup on my nose and waterline eyeliner. thanks for the tips!
I purchased a liquid to matte lipstick and I can't remember the brand but after 20 or so minutes it was feathering everywhere and I tried the powder around the lips with a small edged detail brush and it stayed in place all night long. Brilliant
Yes to kohl pencils! Love them! The Sephora brand pencils are amazing. I love using the nude shade on my waterline to make my eyes look larger. I am binge watching David's videos 😍
Omg I have watched a tonne of make up videos & this was probably the most helpful one by far:) I love you, your so genuine & natural on camera. An absolute pleasure to watch
I am soooooo loving David!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I consider myself a late bloomer when it comes to makeup and beauty stuff, I am practically learning all these wonderful new world for me with his tutorials. Thanks much!!
I had given up on putting eyeliner on my waterline or to tight line because I have very watery eyes. Really need to try out your waterline tip. And a tip of mine is an alternative to your tip on preventing mascara from smudging. Use an eyeshadow primer (I like udpp and tfsi) all over the lids. I'm Asian with oily monolids and I find this really helps make my eyeliner and mascara last all day. I don't even use waterproof formulas, because those are a pain to take off.
I am SO excited to hear about that nose trick!!! Trying this today, my nose always ends up wearing away way to fast and then looks really blotchy. And that eyeliner trick too!
I enjoy and learn from all of your videos but this one was beyond.... Please continue to make more videos like this. One of the best makeup videos on UA-cam.
I have something similar from the brand Ready To Wear. It's eyelash extension fibers that you put in between coats, and this is the best thing I've found with most mascaras nowadays.
I know this sounds weird but I have really oily skin and just primers and oil free make up even matte ones I still get oily. So I discovered that if I dab my face with just a bit of (yes Laura mercier powder) on after my primer then do the rest of my face and set it again with the powder that it last all day and I'm not kidding all day!! I even spray a lil setting spray after if I'm looking to matte that helps also. Hope this tip works for some of y'all!
I absolutely love this video and its predecessor. You guys answered so many questions I didn't even know had answers. I watch a lot of UA-cam beauty gurus and these are not things they ever tell you. I hope you keep making teaching videos on here for people like myself who really could use the help!!!
thanks David. these issues been so annoying. the powder on my eyes & lips work wonderfully....can't wait 2 get proper waterline liners! keep your videos coming pls! xx💋
Thank you! Very helpful! I always have the nose issue! I dry my water line with a q-tip right before applying eyeliner. This really works for me. On really hot days I will go over my eyeliner with a matching eye shadow.
Thank you so much I love these tips and defiantly think it will help me. I have a lot of freckles, and uneven skin and I really need my make up to just last all day. I'm a nurse and don't have time for touch ups.
For the mascara tip I do this ! And this might sound crazy but I also use translucent powder on my eyelashes and my mascara last and it gives my lashes more volume. I learned this trick on refinery 21
Thank you, i have oily skin so i started using waterproof mascara because i hardly have any eyelashes from eye surgeries. So i try to make them look semi normal but the waterproof mascara goes all over my eyes and under my eyes that i looked like i have a black eye. So this translucent powder tip is helpful. I just need to buy them now. :)
Great tips. I have the oily eyelids problem and my mascara would always run and give me itchy eyes all day. Anyways, I found that using eyeshadow primer works really well, even though I wear no eyeshadow. It keeps the oil from going into my lashes so no itchiness or running mascara anymore.
Probably the best video on UA-cam. I would love to see a video about skin tones and how to choose the right shade of foundation and mascara. Preferable in nars collection and urban decay ☺️
how about makeup cleanser for different type of skins? sephora has a collection with different bases oil, gel, water etc. which one works best with a combination skin?
How about tips on eyeliner collecting in your inner corners and breaking down when you do a wing? Also how to deal with dry textured skin on a 40 yo with hot flashes so I sweat a lot. My makeup gets either really caked looking or breaks apart or runs off my face!! Blotting seems to remove makeup and then my redness or melasma shows through☹️
here's something I need help with, crepey undereye! 😩 Here's more information about me, I'm 50 and have fine lines and I hydrate the crap out of them. Do you have any cool tricks like you just told us for this? I have another question or idea for tips. I also have hooded eyes, how do I do a nice winged liner? I never have done one. I would really like to. Man I am full of questions here's another one applying false lashes. Oh if you have already addressed these I just subscribed today. Loved this information you gave. My daughter just loves you btw's! 😆 😙 xoxo TL 😄
Thank you thank You thank you!!!! I have oily lids and have had alllll of these problems with mascara and eye liner. Well I used all your tips and tricks tonight and my Makeup is looking flawless and it has looked flawless for 7 hours and counting!!! I just cannot thank you enough for helping me take my game to the next level. Xoxoxo
Wow, great practical tips without needing expensive products. I already do 2 of them and they work! The other 2 make sense. I can see how they would make a difference. Thanks!
Is there ANY makeup that lasts in heat? I live in Florida and need makeup that can last and that won’t be running or streaking. Please help!!!! Thank you so much for all your tips! You guys are AWESOME!
David, I introduced myself to you at TMS NYC. Thank you again for this tip about lining the waterline with a kohl pencil first. What a great pro tip! Elyse Simons
Love these tricks and tips! So helpful. What's the trick to keeping your lashes curled? I've tried everything, all types of eyelashes curlers, waterproof mascara, eyelash primer, different mascaras. Nothing works!!
I know this video is 3 years old, but thank you David! You have given me tips on all of my major issues in just one video! I'm going to start using my powder on my eyes and I'm running to Sephora immediately to get a kohl pencil! Thank you David!!!!💗💗💗
I have monolids and I have tried everything... primer... Bobbi Brown long wear gel eyeliner... nothing ever worked. No artist knows anything about these issues in my country (Denmark) as monolids are rare. I will try your powder trick. Thanks for your tips 😊
I was wondering if you guys could please do an in depth video on dealing with lots of redness & texture?! particularly rosacea! ive been struggling with my skin all my life and it's always been my biggest insecurity. My skin is very red, very sensitive, dry as ever, and...the amount of TEXTURE..IS UNREAL.. and its not like acne texture but like a lot of just bumps. everywhere. lol.. any tips and tricks would be just so amazing!! thx xx
Kohl pencil tip is amazing. It's funny, Ive always tended to reach for my Kohl liner and didn't realize what the difference was, but yes it really does stay put!
I tried the eyeliner in this video, wore it alone, and it smeared like crazy. Maybe I have to add a waterproof eyeliner over but the Kohl eyeliner itself smears under my eyes. The eyeliner was very easy and smooth to apply and not dry at all. Maybe the consistency changed, I'm not sure. As always, great video David!
Hi Clara, we invite you to share your inquiry on our Beauty Talk Forum > community.sephora.com/beautyadvice, where our Sephora Experts and fellow community members can offer suggestions. Thanks!
I have the same issue, I use Mally bb cream foundation. It's super nice coverage, and you don't need a lot. Plus, it's SPF 15. The only downside is that it's 40$ a tube, but the it's definitely worth is since it will last a long time.
Love love love Laura Mercier's setting powder and I tried the tip of using it to keep eyeliner from giving me the infamous raccoon eye AND it has worked! Thanks for these tips, you guys are awesome!
I really love how he talks so natural. It's like he's actually talking to you. So great
Agree 👍👍👍👍
Very much agree

I thought this video would be rubbish, stating things we already knew but these tips are actually fantastic! THANK YOU! x
I totally agree!!!!
Another tip: put some loose powder on your lashes between coats , that holds the curl for longer also
+J MW Love this!
It also builds the lashes I do this on my clients that don't want to wear false lashes but want some length and volume 😘

You can also try setting your waterline eyeliner with a matching eyeshadow :)
+serena moon trying this one- thank you!
But that's really messy and eyeshadow just goes into ur eyes
+maserati chau if you're careful and pat the eyeshadow right on top of the eyeliner with a small detailed brush, rather than just putting it on with a shadow brush, it'll be less messy! :)

Hi David! How do you make your makeup last on your nose, specifically if you wear glasses (the marks left behind) & in the creases of your nose?
Thanks David! i usually hate my oily lids but you made me see the bright side :)
here's something I need help with, crepey undereye! 😩 Here's more information about me, I'm 50 and have fine lines and I hydrate the crap out of them. Tina Lee Try mixing a little bit of Maracuja oil with your concealer. When you set it with powder, it will be less crepey . Hope this helps!
I stay away from under eye concealer, it helps to reduce that crepey look
These tricks are from a whole another level. Thank you very much
