- USAFA VS ROTC?! WHICH IS BETTER FOR YOU?
Hopefully this video gives you a REAL idea of the key "college lifestyle" differences between the two. Both are awesome opportunities that share the same end goal (the path to getting there are two very different experiences!). Hopefully this helps you make your decision in the near or not so near future. Thanks for watching.

Thank you so much for these videos! You’re absolutely right, UA-cam barely has content for girls interested in these types of programs. Your videos help so much in this process:)
For those wondering about USAFA vs AFROTC, there isn't much a difference. There comes a prestige with USAFA, many legitimately cannot say they went to the AFA, as well as free college. With ROTC, you can join any school you want as long as that school has an AFROTC program, or a crosstown agreement with one (like Det 850 and the agreement between Weber State Uni and University of Utah). Both end up as officers. Both end up with a gold bar. Both have a choice of what they want to pursue in the Air Force, and from what I know, the AFROTC usually has more pilot openings.
Even as a guy, it was great to hear the differences. I want to switch from Army ROTC to the USAFA, great content and keep up the good work.
I'll be in Army ROTC this fall, thank you so much! You guys helped calm my nerves
I went ROTC Air Force University of Delaware and graduated in 1995. Good stuff! Retired now and enjoying life.
Very helpful video! I live in the springs and have thought about attending but I'm also looking at AFROTC at UCCS. So thank you for this video 😁
Finally something useful and informative. Thank you for posting
Eman Mat glad I could help ! Thanks for watching
AFROTC is TOTALLY different from both of these. It would probably be good to give a comparison of the two as another video to give a more fair comparison of the two experiences. Let me know if you’d want any info regarding AFROTC and how life as a cadet works. Det 002 Cal State San Bernardino
Hi! This video was super helpful. I have been researching day and night about the academy! I’m in 8th grade and I recently joined Civil Air Patrol so I could get a good basis of leadership and get my pilots license as soon as I’m of age. Really wanting to be a fighter pilot, and trying to make this a reality :)
My daughter thinking about AF ROTC .Thank you so much, very help full.
Awesome video ladies! It's Cah-dre. #USAFA #1999 #GoldWillShine 😁💛
So informative thank you guys. I’m going be a fighter pilot one day.
Papyram me too
Papyram me three 💪🏽
Good vid!!!! Very helpful information
oovoo javer thanks for watching !!
Cool. I never heard of MOD. My firstie year they switched from PMS to MAS. Probably had better optics. Do they still do M5 in the lecture halls sometimes? I remember how most of that was a waste of time...at least in my mind. We didn't have 4 degree PT. Might have been good. I failed the PFT once as a smack but as an upperclassman I was able to figure out how to get it all done.
Great videos. I really enjoy some of these.
🔥🔥🔥
For the air force academy, did you enlist first then go into the academy or did you apply straight into the academy
So I’m a freshman in high school and last year I realized that I really wanted to become a pilot and want to go to the Air Force Academy. What classes or things should I do or join now to increase my chances of getting in later?
Vanessa T hi! First thanks for watching ! Second I suggest that you try and take as many advanced math classes before coming here because the curriculum is very math/techy based! Some examples would be taking Calc/ Ap chem/ Ap physics. Those courses would really help ! I’d honestly say just keep your grades up , do well on the SAT/ACT and be heavily involved in something you’re passionate about ( for me that was Volleyball)
Cambria Lenee thank u for your input!! Were u involved in any kind of leadership programs in high school? Like CAP or ASB?
I did ASB in high school for two years!
Cambria Lenee did u have a big role like president or a smaller one like just a member? I’m currently on dance team but am not a captain, if I became a captain in this following year do u think they would look at that as leadership?
I was the Treasurer. So a pretty active role
When did you start your application for the academy? Like the begging of your senior year? End of junior year?
I started prepping/ taking ACT/SAT beginning of junior year and then my application end of junior year !
U NEED to start application in junior year. If you do it in senior year its too late because it takes times to summit act/sat score and get results. Since you need to get letter of recommendations and summit it during the summer after junior year.
Thank you
Informative video! Thanks for posting. Do you know what your AFSC will be yet?
I sadly do not know yet. Thank you for watching!
@@cambrialenee7434 I see. Best of luck in your career and remember to seek out a seasoned NCO mentor.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️😘
Cadre, with the short 'a'.
If you dont mind me asking what did you score on the SAT?
I didn’t take the SAT. But my ACT superscore was a 30!
Will being in JROTC all through High School, being in Cross-Country and maintaining a 4.0-3.8 GPS be enough for getting into ROTC in college?
Will doing AFJROTC all four years of high school help get into the academy
It will definitely help you prepare for academy life! But I’d say being well rounded is the most important thing.
what about Army JROTC all 4 years in highschool?
@Butter Sausermostly all jrotc dose is it helps you get used to marching, studying, etc. so I would think it dose about the same all air force jrotc dose differently is basically just history of the air force and chain of command so in short about the same but if you are in air force jrotc than you will have a very slight advantage once you get there BUT it will not make a difference for getting accepted.
@@buttersauser1810 Probably very helpful adjusting to your first year though it would help a little to get in. I didn't have the op when I was in HS. I think I spread myself too thin on activities and should have focused on academics. Still got Prime Nom but it made my life far less bearable than it could have been. I think there's a lesson about Balance in there somewhere--though I never learned it.
cybercab would Civil Air Patrol help in getting into USAFA or ROTC?
Does usafa teach you how to shoot a basic gun, advanced weapons , and snipers? Or would that be some sort of specialized class?
Yes, you get taught during basic training and during EST before your sophomore year. My class shot the M-9 and M-16.
Shit, you took Eve Baxter's USAFA spot and kicked her off to army ROTC, and she's still willing to talk to you.
Rutgers afrotc - cadre
I'm a junior going into my senior year and I want to do ROTC in college but I also join to be in a sorority. How would that work?
Thank you for not wearing one of you attrocious wigs.
Do you know youtuber Wild Blue Yonder he went to USAFA prep and is now at USAFA? He’s prior enlisted ua-cam.com/video/NhizOh74IOU/v-deo.html
I don’t know him personally but I watched his videos before coming here haha!
My daughter is a hs junior took the asvab test a month ago and did very good, was told that she could apply for the AFA.... At first she kind of was ok with the idea but apparently now she is afraid to be so far from home, what can I tell her to change her mind or to help her feel more at ease with that??? Thanks! By the way... thanks for the video!
I’d tell her just to go for it! Don’t let the homesickness hold her back. I was very nervous to go to school far away from home, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I see my family every opportunity I can!
@@cambrialenee7434 thanks!!!
La Yazz If you have to convince her then it may not be for her. If she really wanted to go she wouldn’t let the fact that she will be away from home keep her from her dream. She’s going to have to want it bad enough
I am getting too confused can anybody please help me ......please
Apparently the ARMY allows zits; the USAF does not. #AimHigh
