I’m going to be a Jr in high school and I want have the best chances of getting into this academy once I graduate. So thank you❤️
Thank you so much for watching! Glad I could help and best of luck on your application journey!
You’re white. Know this. There is a less than 12% percent acceptance rate. Furthermore, they will debit a percentage of that percentage to take on minorities whether they are as equally qualified or not. Welcome to white privilege.
Same here but I’m a sophomore this yr
Get good grades
Good sat/act scores
Volunteer
Play a sport
Get some leadership position ex. President of a club, team captain, etc.
Good luck
@@cambrialenee7434 I havent see anymore of your videos ! I hope all is well
The wait is over... we finally have a new video lfg

AYYYY
These videos are great and I'm planning on going through the application process this year so it is a perfect time. Thank you for being a great example!
Who wants to see that intro from now on😅😃
thank you, i have just recently discovered usafa and really want to go there but it just seems so impossible! It was very nice to see everything broken into steps
Lorayne Gulbrandsen thanks for watching !
I've been following your channel ever since our son decided last year to apply to USAFA.
He's gone though the whole process you describe and is now just waiting to hear about an appointment. He checks all of the boxes you mentioned (academic, physical, leadership) so we think his chances are very good, but there's obviously no guarantee.
On a somewhat related note, our daughter played volleyball in college in Colorado. She actually got an invitation to visit USAFA, but she decided to decline because she thought she couldn't handle the combination of academics, volleyball and military. It's good to see you're still hanging in there. :-)
Hi Cam, I just want to let you know that our son received an appointment to USAFA as part of the class of 2024. We're feeling very blessed and humbled by the opportunity.
Great channel! Great info! Welcome to the 13N community.
This little community in the comments is wholesome ✨✨
Thank you so much for the new video! It’s really helpful for a lot of people, and I know I definitely would’ve loved having this when I started applying. Hoping to be Class of 2024! Your videos have been so awesome and helpful over my application process! They’ve definitely continued to spark my motivation to keep pushing for USAFA!
Autumn Choate I’m so glad I can help and inspire! Keep up the hard work 👍🏽 thanks for the support :)
Going into high school soon wanted to see what I needed to change to get in when I graduate this really helped. Thank You!
YAYY!!! UR BACKK! 🥰🥰🥰 love you.
Thanks for the new vid! Know you’re busy, but these are so helpful
Thank you so much for watching! I'm working on getting a lot more content out!!
Yay glad you’re back!!
Thank you Cambria been wanting this video ❤️
Jaybama thanks for watching !
YAY U R ALIVE!!! :)))))
Lorayne Gulbrandsen woo!! Lol
Oh yayyyy! Thank you so much for this video is was super super helpful, and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!!!
Just went on the website itself.. if only I knew this Academy existed earlier I would had just gone for the ACT test.
Here I am just turned 25 just about a month ago. Thank you for the video anyways!
Your videos are super helpful! I have a couple of questions:
1. Do you have to pass boot camp first before applying to the Academy?
2. What did you score on the ASVAB? ( what should my score range be for nursing?)
3. What would be your estimation of time before being able to work the field as a nurse?
Basic training or boot camp happens after you’ve been admitted to the academy. So it will happen the super inbetween your senior year of highschool and freshman year of college. We don’t take the ASVAB before our basic because we won’t get our jobs until we are seniors.
I am only a freshman in high school, but my dream is to either go to USAFA or West Point... I have great grades, a lot of extra curricular activity and community service hours and play volleyball which I would love to do for the school if I were to get accepted! The only thing is I come from a very large school which also doesn’t offer AP classes until junior year, I don’t know my class rank but I know for sure that it’s not that high:/ if this is the only big thing holding me back, do you think it will majorly affect my chances of getting in? Thanks for the helpful videos, they’ve really help me learn about the school!!!
Eloise Hampson Because I don’t know your whole list of activities and I’m not an admissions person I can’t really answer that :( but my advice is to focus on the things you can control ! ( like continuing to be active in your community and sports) hopefully this helps!
Cambria Lenee Thank you so much for responding, I really appreciate it!!
So excited to see that you posted, but take your time, we understand that things get busy!
Just a quick question for you, about the sports aspect of the admissions/chances of getting into USAFA. I don’t play a sport for my actual school, but I do dance (ballet, pointe, tap, etc.) at a studio outside of school. Would that fulfill the sports/athletics part or does the academy want to see that the applicants played an actual school sport?
Meep Meep Id say it’s honestly up to you! If you feel like you’ll be able to accomplish more with dance then strive to do the best at that! USAFA has a dance team so if you want to continue to do that in college it’s always an option for development!
I really want to go usafa and I'm trying my best to meet the weight requirements but I doubt I'll get in. :( Also, I'm trying to take harder classes but it's very difficult to take because I started taking regular classes in my freshman year. Dang.
go to the gym... periodt
just have my alo interview and cfa to do... 🤞🤞🤞
David Zheng Goodluck !!
Are you applying for graduating class 2024? Senior in HS now?
@@DaBeast34 yes! What about you?
Year below you, starting the application process now.
How did it all go for you?
I’m going to be a jr in high school and I really want to be a pilot in the Air Force and go the academy when I graduate. But before I found out that I wanted to go to the academy I wasn’t really trying and doing all that I could to do my best in school. So I’m going to use the next 2 years to do all that I can to get good grades and try my best to get into the academy.
I’m making an group chat for others who wanna go to USAFA. We can apply together and help eachother through high school. My Instagram is jh_10804
Can you do a video of a regular day for you at USAFA?
Katherine Carr Yes! Thanks for the video idea :)
Hi Cambria! I'm a sophomore in hs, and I have been working on improving the exercises for the PT test to get in. Do you have any tips for improving pushups? (I can only do about 30) Thanks!
Just do more pushups everyday
do as many as you can each night before taking a shower.
I'm just gonna do the list thingy here since it be easiest. (Also i'm going into 10th for 2020 - 2021)
What i'm good at:
Science:
I'm always down to learn more about science and biology and chemistry and physics
I love learning new things
All of my highest grades are in any science class i take.
Helping others:
I like to help others.
I want to help others succeed.
Physically demanding jobs or tasks:
I like to do lots of different things from skating to kickboxing, and lacrosse.
I have an athletic body, so i know i'm 100 percent capable of doing almost anything athletic.
What i'm not good at:
I'm not comfortable with speaking to a large group.
In not great at running.
In not great at math.
What can i do to improve myself:
volunteer at some places near me.
Volunteer to become a cispus consular.
Ask if i can help be a co captain on the OLC lacrosse team
Take some AP classes 11th and 12th grade.
Take a language class 11th and 12th grade.
Keep taking those steps to be more comfortable talking to new people.
Work harder and make sure to ask for more help in math classes.
I'm sure things will change and improve over high school but this is my list for my 15 year old self.
Love your vids. Got an interview on Monday. Are you planning to do 1sec everyday again?
Davaasambuu Batbold hi! Not currently planning that for this year but it is my goal to do it senior year :)
Love your videos 😍. My daughter is going up the hill. Is freshman year the hardest???
I'm considering the air force academy but I have a smaller physical called erb's palsey that affects my shoulder slightly you can't tell unless you examine closely will the military still accept me
how long do you have to stay there ?
This upcoming school year I will be a freshmen! My school has an AFJROTC program that I will be participating in all 4 years of high school. I want to become a fighter pilot one day, so I've been trying to get myself out there and finally someone from the Air Force recommended to me to join the CivilAirPatrol. And I just learned that USAFA is a thing and I would Love to go there. Do you know if joining CAP would be a bonus with helping me get into the academy? I'm a new subscriber and am enjoying your channel, keep it up! :)
You got this dude!
Does it increase your chances if you are taking jrotc in highschool?
Does this also apply for Canada?
When applying to the academy what was the hardest part of your application process?
The hardest part was definitely the medical side, it’s a huge packet you have to complete .
Cambria Lenee MEDICAL!? i had asthma when i was a toddler, im 14 and havent had it for 8 years, will that still affect me getting in?
If you are on a sports team at the academy, will you been in a squadron with your team?
It’s all chosen randomly! So there is a chance some of your teammates could be in your squad.
Cambria Lenee thanks!
My high school GPA was a 3.3, i participated in JV track and field, Varsity Cross Country, Varisty Air Rifle, i was the captain of the air rifle team, I was class president during my Junior year and Student Body Secretary my Senior year. I also participated in JROTC(army) for 4 years, i was a squad leader, platoon sergeant, platoon leader, company executive officer and Company Commander. Now I'm in junior college and doing jazz band, junior college varisty cross county, varisty air rifle, debate team, and chemistry club, and I'm thinking about applying to the air force academy. Do you think my chances are high or low for the academy?
Hey! I received a nomination for USAFA, but have not heard back from the academy yet. Any tips on the waiting game? When did you receive an appointment?
Most appointments are given out during March
It really depends on the state/ district!!
I’m not above average in my studies nor am I overly athletic. I’m pretty much an average joe who gets average grades. I am a junior in high school. If I applied how Likely would I be to get it
What happens if I have 1 year of Foreign but also speak Spanish fluently is there a waver or something for that ? I received a nomination
Currently applying lol a little nervous.
I recently joined the Civil air Patrol, and was wondering if you know people at the academy that were in the program?
Alexia Olvera I do not :(
Hey I need some help, I have some questions. I’m a sophomore in high school. My gpa is a 3.4 and I ran cross country in my freshman year but not this year because I am doing school from home now. I really want to get into the Air Force academy, I am currently working on getting my gliders license With the soaring society of America and almost ready to solo, next year I am going to start to work on my power pilots license with my parents friends who is an instructor and eventually try to get other ratings like twin engine rating, instrument rating, etc. I am doing all this because I really want to fly with the airforce and get into the academy. I still worry because my gpa is a 3.4 and I’m not currently doing sports. I know that the academy is very hard to get into and I feel like the things I am doing is not enough.
Do you know any homeschoolers who made it to USAFA ? I'm homeschooled and I really wanna know how hard it's going to be. Thanks! Love all your content!
My district got two homeschoolers in for '24
@@jacquelinekelly7559 thanks, good to know!
I'm homeschool to! I want to go to become a pilot and I was also wondering that! See you there!
How many community service hours are required for USAFA?
yeah i’m definitely not getting into the academy
Not with that attitude
Hey Cambria, thank you so much for that information it is so helpfull. I live in an othere contry and is to far and expensive for me to visit the academy. I have a question: in the application, there is a page to put your STA collages board scores, I dont know how to fill that part if you can help me on that with some info or vid. I have my collage board results of school in a paper and not in an acount and my STA result are not in english lenguage so if I send it to them they won't understand. I do speak both lenguage so dont have problem with translation.
I really dont understand how to fill it, I'm doing it wrong and I haven't found information enywere that tells me how to do it correctly.
I apresiate a lot your help and you vid are amazing, I want to be a pilot!
Thank you for your time!
Hi! First thank you so much for watching! Also I just want to make sure you're doing the application process correctly because it's very different for those who aren't U.S. citizens or live in different countries! I personally don't know much about that side of the application process so I'd try to find an ALO in your region or find some one in the specific air force academy in your country!
I'm a high school junior but wasn't able to take science my freshman year if I took two science classes next year would that make up for my fourth year?
Very informative thank you. Is the top 3% a pivotal factor in admissions? I am only top 10%
Matyas Castro I honestly don’t know how they weight that (class rank)in the application process. I just know class rank is considered 👍🏽
I think it depends on how big your class size is
Foreign students can go right?
I've read that they can (the application process is just different) but I've never actually heard anything else about it.
what are your experiences with foreign cadets?
where can we find out about summmer camp?
what was your gpa and what classes did you take during high school?
I had a 4.3 weighted and took as many APs that my busy schedule could handle
she really hit us with renai circulation
Hey Cambria! I just had a quick question, does having three nominations to the Academy help my chances? I also have three to West Point and was wondering if they would look at those as well. I hope to be admitted to the class of 2024! Maybe you’ll see my doolie a** doing doolie things😂 Thanks!
alecx gwynn Nominations demonstrate that other people believe you would be successful at USAFA, so that should definitely help !
What were your SAT scores? I already submitted my application, but thank you for the tips!
Agatha Sabino I believe my SAT was a 1360 (1500 scale). I only took the SAT to transfer my math score :)
All I’m tryna do is fly super sonic jets and sever my country thx!
Do I need to be a part of JROTC or student council to get in? I unfortunately am not part of either will that affect me a lot? Thanks!
They aren't a "hard" requirement for admission but I believe the admissions board likes to see it on applications because it shows leadership experience. But if you lead in other ways obviously they will consider the particular situation you are in !
Is there any chance that I will get accepted with a 3.4 GPA? I slacked off in 9th and 10th grade :|
can you do a video of questions to ask your alo
The conversation I had with my ALO was pretty casual and I just asked about concerns about the application process/ their experience in the Air force! I wouldn't stress about that step too much!
Is there any chance to enter as a non is citizen? I have read that one of the requirements is at least to be resident? But is there any other way around it?
I’m about to be a senior in high school...class of 2021 is it too late for me to try to get into this academy?? 😩
Hi Cambria I’m a freshman in Highschool and the academy is my dream. Is there a way I could possibly start preparing for the academy from freshman year?
I’ve currently applied, and waiting to hear back, but one thing I wish I would’ve done is to be more involved in school extra-curricular activities my freshman and sophomore year. My junior and senior year, I did a lot so that helped, but you’re at an advantage Bc you seem to know where you’re going. Take advantage of the opportunities your school offers and get involved
If you go to a school that offers IB or AP classes it will definitely give you a leg up. Also, try to maintain a GPA of at least 3.8
how good does JROTC look on my application?
FLUXZiON JROTC is a big time commitment and means you’re involved so I’d say great!
oh my! you helped me big time and thankyou so much! Can I ask some questions? I'm currently a college student(incoming sophomore) and I live in another country. Do you think I can still apply in the USAFA? I hope you can help/answer me. Again, thank you very much and this video was really helpful! Take Care :D
@@APMtube9000 I've read that they also accept international students. I'm actually having trouble finding the SAT reasoning test since we don't have SAT in our country
Were you in the top 3%?
I was!
Wow..my son want apply this year..but he is not in top3%...🥺🥺🥺
Hey, my school doesn’t have any AP classes though I have a 4.0 gpa. Will they take into account the opportunities I didn’t have?
Yes! They always adjust for non Ap schools or smaller schools
Cambria Lenee alright, thanks :)
Im in class of 48 people private small school but school is very competitive i have a 4.3 gpa cumulative (junior) but odds are with 48 very smart kids the class rank is really misleading wondering how the adminissions will look at that.
For the Sat and Act can you take it as many times as you want and they’ll just look at your highest scores for each one and not really mind you took it twice or three times?
Garrett Redden I believe they look at your highest scores! Especially if you don’t do to hot on the first one, and you keep taking it to improve your score then they see that you can improve/ worked hard to improve
IS THIS CAPTAIN ALI FROM SPACE FORCE??!! U TWO LOOK SOOOOOO SIMILAR!!!!!!
Haha I just started watching this show! All of my friends say I look like her
@@cambrialenee7434 I watched the show and this at the same timeas this vid and I was like ok so that's convenient shes in a show bout space and she has advice on AFA
What percent of the cadets do you think are the top of their class and top athletes?
Jeffrey Ju I’d say 80% who get in direct we’re at the top of their class or played a varsity or jv sport
@@cambrialenee7434 Thanks and also what percent of cadets have an ACT of 30 or higher do you think?
Hey I have a few questions! I'm a freshman in High school and I've been interested in the Airforce Academy for a while now. I do afjrotc and we have community service opportunities that we can do. I was wondering if these would count toward community service hours on the application or does it have to be outside of school? Also I don't do sports but I was wondering if there is still a way I can get in without sports? Also my school has a jrotc drumline and I also want to know if that would be good for the application. I don't really know where to go from here. So if I could contact anyone that can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it! :)
We got Jimin's jams I’d say the more you can add to your resume the better! But JROTC is great as a community interactive/volunteer point!!
Did you do all of this at the end of junior year or within senior year?
Definitely start junior year
Start as soon as possible ! I began the process during the middle of my junior year.
When it comes to sports, if I do no sports in school but I do judo would it still help me?
I think it is better than nothing. Don't let not doing sports hold you back from applying.
Fair point, however I’m only a sophomore in high school and I run a lot on my own so it would be wise to join the cross country team for the next 3 years of hs to increase my chances?
@@jb.5398 It would help. Try to become captain to show leadership. Make sure to volunteer (student council, food shelf, etc.) and try to be the president of the clubs you are in. The SAT and ACT are also important. So keep taking them until you are happy with your score because they will take your best.
This may sound dumb and I know I need to do my own research but I had no idea the USAFA existed... that being said, I have so many questions. 🥴
flsym go watch all my other videos haha!
Top 3%???
are you going to be less likely to get in if you don't take a computer class in high school ?
I didn’t take one in high school, but I’d suggest taking one because a lot of freshman struggle with the computer science class their first year!
This is probably a stupid question, but I’m currently applying to USAFA and realized about a week ago that I am lesbian and now I’m nervous about how accepting the Air Force Academy is. Would you consider it to be pretty accepting? I’ve read a lot of articles that say there’s a bunch of homophobia in the military but I don’t want to let that dissuade me from going to USAFA, even if it’s true.
Don't ever let you personal identity limit you. Sometime you are in your own way of finding success. USAFA has a Commandment that is lesbian. Her name is Col. Kristin Goodwin. Always remember that there will always be people who not like your choices but don't let that discourage yourself. Good luck!
What percent of cadets have an ACT 30 or higher
Jeff Ju :/ the website only says “majority” so I can’t give an exact percentage!! Sorry
I don’t understand how the average gpa can be a 3.8 but most people are top 3-5% in class.
Unweighted GPA. Most people have above 4.0s weighted. So an average gpa of a 3.8 means they got maybe a few B’s in high school
I AM A US CITIZEN AND MEET ALL THE REQUIREMENT BUT............
I happen to live in India atm, and I plan on attending USAF but me needs help....
I plan on applying To USAFA in 2022 (ill be 19 then and in the US for roughly 1.5 years) but if possible, Id like to attend in 2021 so like again, the liason officer ???
Do I apply when I'm a senior or earlier?
Apply earlier!
Ok, when should I apply? I am currently a sophomore in High School, I really wanna fly fighters and I was also wondering if USAFA will increase my chances of becoming a fighter pilot. Thank you for answering!
I’m making an group chat for others who wanna go to USAFA. We can apply together and help eachother through high school. My Instagram is jh_10804
Lol, stinks that I already finished my application. Great video tho😂
Yeah fr🤣
I'm number one I am homeschooled lol
h
what kind of questions do they ask you
My ALO or during my board interview?
This makes me really sad I really wanted to join but I’m too dumb
I feel the same way about myself, but I’m trying to be positive.
I wish I was legally allowed to join :(
Im not even in the top 10 percent....
What if I’m in the top 4% of my class?🤔
Fernando Brito they just say “most” are top 3%, but many other factors go into their decision to admit an individual ! 👍🏽
🐢💚🐢💚🐢💚🐢
Does your freshman grades have a high impact right now i have a 3.6 gpa unweighted which isnt good from my train of though. i am in CAP football and track if i got my gpa up my softmore yr would it increase my chances?
2027 hopefully
do you have a little sister
Your video doesn’t apply to a lot of people, because you’re a minority. Not to sound racist, but they will take you over a white person for diversity sake regardless of SAT’s.
I believe this advice on how to structure essays, engaging in community service, and performing well on standardized testing applies to every person applying to any college (regardless of race).
For a college student do I have to take any required class to get into the USAFA?
