I’ve just become so familiar with Darwin I might be tempted to buy one. I need Darwin in my collection, not because it’s a good figure, but because I need darwin
My Walmart has one Darwin that's been on the pegs for weeks now. I was going to buy it but then I saw the $25 price tag and I'm like naahhhhh
They look fantastic. Sure a larger scale would be a bit better but I don't really mind since they can still scale with the small marvel universe figs and the smaller gi joe ones. They would be awesome for stop motion too
1:18 "ops can't do that" kkkkkkkkkkkjkj
very nice
I don't collect this scale either, but if a smaller scale was consistently good, and a property that I liked, then I totally would.
Like the 3 3/4" Star Wars figures are better looking, have more accessories, and have a better character selection than the 6 in. line.
Thanks for reviewing a smaller scale! 1/18 females are hard to get right, these are superb.
Glad to see you doing hiya still. I remember you saying you weren't going to do them anymore because of contracts or somthing. I really am impressed with these figs and they are pretty much the only small scale I collect now and it's bc of your reviews
I got them to waive the contract as long as they're allowed to use my content. Everyone wins.
@@AnthonysCustoms indeed!
I am so glad you did this because I have had these, Anderson and Dredd on the bike specifically, and others have been in my shopping cart of Entertainment Earth for what feels like forever and it is because of what you. Mentioned. The face sculpts of humans has been sorely lacking on the Aliens line. The size of the Hiya line has stood out but did not stop me from buying The Aliens / Predator line. These Dredd figures look awesome. I hope you do they rest of the line and the Bikes.
1:19 good catch 💀
like the look of these. an extra helmeted head for hershey, and maybe a ghostly judge death for anderson would've been cool.
I believe Hiya said that if this 1/18 scale Judge Dredd line does well they will produce a 1/12 scale Judge Dredd figure. I don't know if that means just a stand alone Dredd figure or an entire line. Love Judge Dredd. It's a line that has been lacking for the community for far too long.
Didn't they say when they 1st announced the line that they were doing 6 inch too?
I believe so
I bought the 3 3/4 Mandalorian star wars vintage collection cantina Playset just to have a place to display the few star wars vintage figures I have, a couple hiya toys aliens and predators and judge dredd, a couple few marvel universe and DC 3.75 figures, a couple g.i. Joes, some chicken fried toys dime novel legends figures, and boss fight studio 3.75 Inch figures. It's a whole 3.75 Inch western Sci fi scene party now.
The JoyToy 40k figures are making me really consider diving into them. I got started with 3.75 figures and Marvel Universe, when I was younger scale didn't matter to me so much as fun, options, and affordability. I got into 6 inch basically with the groot baf wave. If my experience is anything to go by, all it takes is a solid figure of something you're interested in to start a collection. I don't know if I'm so set in my 6 inch collection that i want everything to play together or that's just what the options are. I will say that in retrospect, a smaller line with a lower price point would maybe be a more responsible and reasonable wagon to hitch to heh
Yeah the joytoy line seems pretty sweet, even the "acid rain" line (not sure about the name) looks amazing .. a lot of giant robots and soldiers with a ton of equipment...
Yeah I am going to pick up some of the JoyToy 40k stuff. I also already have some Hiya Predator and Alien, but I may wait to pick up more until I see they improve with the articulation for those figs. However, the Hiya style works great for Judge Dredd stuff!
These look great, I've been collecting the Hiya Toys line of Dredd figures and these look like more quality additions.
Hoping that they do more 2000AD based figures in the future.
Rogue Trooper and Strontium Dog action figures would be awesome! 🙂🤘
They are supposed to be making a 1/12 scale at some point of the same figures. Im holding out for them
Although I am not familiar with the Judge Dredd franchise, action figures in this scale are quite nostalgic to me.
Anthony, thank you for another bloody excellent review, mate! Always appreciate the videos.
Cheerio,
Giovanni Marino, M.D.
The detail on these is awesome. Great figures and excellent review ❣️👏🙌💯😘❤️
I wish there were figures this good of this line in a 6-7 inc scale. I wouldn't get them in this scale because of differences in articulation. About the name, you can think of it as saying "hi, you" but "ya" instead, so it's easier to remember hehe
Just starting to get into judge dredd, and seeing the Hiya stuff is encouraging since I've also been meaning to get some 1/18 figures.
I don’t like this scale but I do have Dredd and his bike on pre order at BBTS because they are great figures and there hasn’t been much for 6” Dredd figures.
Are you sure it's said Haiya, and not Hiya? Looks like this smaller scale is coming back in style. It was popular in the 1980s because it worked better with vehicles. Toy lines like Star Wars, and G-I- Joe were known for their vehicles and play sets. I'm 2 decades deep into 6 inch figures to change now. Technology has gotten to where you can print and sculpt very fine details onto small figures. These look good, but it would take a lot of good vehicles to make me change over to smaller scale.
Hard sale for me to start going into that scale but they do look good.
I'll probably go 1/18 specially for vehicle heavy properties... Joytoy have a sweet giant robots line with very detailed pilots and a nice warhammer line... And those vehicles/robots would be HUGE on 1/12, but for 1/18 its normal big and affordable...
Anyway hiya is on fire i might get the dredd with the lawmaker yet...
I love 4 inch, 3.75, or 1/18 what ever you want to call it. Its the scale I grew up with. Star Wars G I Joe where all around the same size and gave us some badass vehicles and playsets. I remember the adventures of Luke Skywalker and Snake Eyes saving the Galaxy from the evil forces of the Empire and Cobra. So yeah if more companies made 4 inch figures I'd bye them and there already are a bunch doing it besides Hiya. Joytoy, Bossfight, Fresh Monkey, Marauders, Grindstone, Skulltron, Etc.
Not gonna lie, recently picked up a few JoyToy 1:18 figures and for the price, you are getting LEAGUES more than we get with any 6" figure. Been collecting 1/12 since Toybiz made the jump with Spider-Man Classics and it's my main scale but taking a break to focus on all the incredible 1:18 stuff being produced right now
JoyToy 40k line is insanely tempting.
Ah man, marvel universe figures. I used to collect those.
I wish they had a helm head as well. That’s the only thing they are missing.
JoyToy and Toy Alliance also do really good 1/18 scale figures as well. JoyToy did some amazing real world military figures, loved their WW2 stuff.
How much though?
@@AnthonysCustoms Not to sound like a shill, but a standard JoyToy release runs between $30-$40, that being said they’re doing something that not a lot of companies are doing, mech suits, vehicles and playsets, we used to get them all the time as kids in the 80s and 90s. Reminds of the old Exo Squad toys. As for Toy Alliance, they have their Acid Rain series and those are a great deal more expensive, at $60-$80 a pop. I like 1/18th scale because a lot of model cars and military vehicles come in that scale. Thanks.
@@paulrippcord506 i know but price matters. i wouldnt expect any of that at the 20 dollar price point.
I often find myself wishing I would have started collecting the smaller scale action figures instead of the 1/12th scale because the smaller ones are cheaper, often have FANTASTIC details, and take FAR less room to display! 🎶 If I could turn back time... 🎵
Nice holster on the boots.
ive dabbled in joytoy 4" figures, warhammer and battle for the stars(?) and a few acid rain figures when I can find a good deal on them.
Acid rain figures look awesome, but I can't leave the 6in to 7 inch lines. In scale compatibility is part of the reason I'm in this hobby
When hiya decides to go '6 scale, they are going to be some serious competition for Hasbro....
I read a lot of Judge Dredd graphic novels as a kid and as a teenager. I loved the characters. These look superb. All the paint apps they have, make Hasbro's efforts look stingy. No way Hasbro would use gold paint on the shoulder pauldrons.
If they did them in 6" scale, with a few more articulation points, then I'd be interested.
I did have a 6" Judge Dredd and Judge Death figure years ago. I don't recall who made them.
Yes Judge Anderson was a Psi Judge, psychic and mind reader if I recall rightly.
I would love to collection those wonderful 1/18 Acid Rain figures, but they're so damn expensive and there are so many of them! 😔
i don't collect this scale normally but yes i would collect these figures
Yeah I love Judge Dredd comics and I was kinda worried how these would turn out. But they look good so imma get them
Your instinct was correct, the PSI on her badge denotes that she’s part of the Psi-Division of Judges, who all have psychic or precognitive powers!
I vaguely remembered something about that from the recent dredd movie
It was a good movie that deserved a sequel!
Psychic people in fiction have a psionic abilities.
I hate how small these figures are. I love Dredd and 2000ad in general, but these are way too expensive for the size.
Hiya are making 6” figures in a few months so I’ll get those ones
It looks like Hiya has improved on the human faces
I've been tempted because of the vehicles, but I already collect 1/6 and 1/12. Have to pass on this scale...at least for now. I'll be honest, I was worried what Darwin was going to do to them at their scale. Thankfully they escaped the wrath of Darwin.😂
😎👍🏼
They don't even come with extra helmeted heads.
Interesting scale 😅
Uh no can't do that 😂
HIYA on FIYA
If they were 6in scale I would buy out hiya figs. And go bankrupt probably.
Anderson is psychic actually. but WOW shading? in this scale?... what's your excuse Marvel Legends?
I don’t like the scale. Even if it was my favorite. I want them to stand out on a shelf.
No Darwin? Definitely a thumbs down if this happen again Mr customs.
He pulled him out during the size comparison
