Cool video again, now with the release of the new rode wireless go, i do wonder why vloggers don't start using them really. Add it to model number 1 would be perfect. The build in mic into the transmitter should be perfect. Vloggers are weird at times ... o well.. thanks for also showing to CLIP in the little wire into the rode micro so many people forget that :)
... 🤗 each smallrig cage for the a6300 / a6500 is compatible with the a6400 and the cold shoe mount has been around for a long time - so there is no „new“ product here. I use a 6500 cage for my „old“ a6000 and for my new a6400. 👍🏻
I'll tell you a bit. 1. No update to the menu system - None of what we've seen now in the A6400 and A9. Let's see if they'll claim that the processor can't handle it. 2. Eye-AF works pretty much the same as before in my opinion. Still struggles with glasses, grabs on to the frame and front focuses. I wasn't unhappy with Eye-AF before, but I don't see the improvement. It seems to be a bit more sticky, but that's just a green box on the screen. I don't see an improvement in the hit rate. 3. Real-time Eye-AF? I can't really tell what's more "real time" now compared to before. 4. Animal Eye-AF. Yay! It works! That's cool. I haven't tried it on moving animals, but it does snap on to the eyes as fast as with human eyes. Assign a button to switch from human to animal eyes. You can't have both at the same time. 5. Still no option for changing the color of the little grey box. Not what I hoped for, but I also didn't know quite what to expect ...
I will say though that it seems to be more accurate and steady with my MC-11 adapted Canon 70-200/2.8L. I can't wait to test more adapted lenses. I have sold a couple of the cheaper Canon lenses that I was sorry that I had to get rid of. I love how they render, but I need AF-C and they didn't work well with that. But I'm gonna test them again, and see if that has changed.
Kudos to Small Rig for taking quick action to produce a fantastic streamline product for the a6400.
Yes I agree
Thank you. Just ordered the cold shoe for the left side.
Great news
smallrig save the world
Yep
very helpful - thanks
Thanks
who knew such a small thing could change just about everything
Yep
Thanks for sharing 👍
The last one is just right, Sony should do a deal with the company and
include it with the kit. Thanks for the info.
Yes it is really good
What would be great is if they combined those two so that you have two cold shoe mounts. I would prefer that to using the cage.
Easy when coming from the future…
Done and available 😄
Lol

Yes it is designed slightly different and the coldshoe mounts are brand new.
hey the new updated attachment to go on other side on the side to hold the mic is even better...
I think so too
The firmware 3.0 for Sony R3 and A7III is out and I was hopping you can tell us about.
Just doing it now.

David Oastler thank you for all your hard work on keeping us informed 👍
Small Rig put the mic where Sony would have put the screen.
the location of the screen is perfect. I much prefer it to the side flip. I am buying the side bracket. I think it is the best solution.
