My one and only love - this was our song. He is gone now but made me feel like a real woman.

I still get goosebumps 😮
Its Disco, style never goes out of fashion
Nunca cansamos de ouvi. Maravilha 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
John Travolta had serious swagger in this movie
...you could have choreographed this as good or better as a dance 🎉 partner...I reckon...I reckon...
Yep. John Travolta swag is off the charts with pretty much any dance scene. Even pulp fiction is iconic.
ELEVATE!
when we're young we all have swagger!!!Age sucks
Girl You pretty dance wit me 💋
I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve watch this scene. Their chemistry was amazing
It truly was🥰
And the dear Jasmine-of-Colleen is not just speaking mere words ... we have felt the same emotions too.
Yessssssssssssss..that kiss and then the stare...i hope to find that one day
This scene is a thousand words. 🔥
John is so gorgeous ❤
John Travolta’s dancing is flawless.
Deney Terrio was onset training Travolta and the other dancers
He taught Travolta everything he knows. Terrio was in Dance Fever back in 70s...
@@StephSnow1144 and later..Adrian Zmed
@@StephSnow1144 Travolta was smoother than silk on the dance floor. Deney Terrio put him through a lot of drills but that just made the diamond shine even more than it already did.
This scene captures the moment of pure infatuation between two people perfectly than any other cinematic experience.
This song, the decade, the Bee Gees, Travolta, and the dance is just everything coming together so perfectly. This is a masterpiece.

It's funny, many of us hated disco in high school back then. But then, when these songs played at the proms, it was suddenly different. Most of us had seen the film, which had something to do with it.
I'm crying... The music, the way they dance, the outfits.... Such a lovely moment in time.
there is nothing to cry, may be you need someone.
+StormShadow ow thanks! I was just I little nostalgic. It was a happy crying :')
The song and their chemistry is beautiful. It's worthy crying for
my dear... I am a 45 year old heavy metal lead singer/guitarist.... and I am crying also... you are soooooo not alone... it is the genius of the Bee Gees timeless music that will do it everytime...
MEXICO!!! WE ARE PRESENT!!!
Such a well directed scene. They did a great job of capturing that moment when they get lost in each others eyes and everything around them disappears. Nothing else matters anymore, not even the dance contest they are in the middle of. Then they smile in acknowledgment of what they just experienced together and then smoothly finish the dance contest. Combined with this great song, it's flawless.
Very well put! You write like Travolta dances!
This dance scene the tango hustle came about during dance rehearsal s as Lester Wilson never showed up n had booked a fashion shoot the very same day so John n his dance partner came up with this ..... dance routine true fact folks 👍🤩😁
magnificent was´nt it?
That 'dreamlike state' starting at 2:57 is so incredible, one of the best parts of the entire movie
I shed a slight tear. I forgot how good film can be lol
"We can take forever just a minute at a time". Simply beautifully perfect.
This movie is the best reference for the 70's and the disco.

Bee Gees literally wrote all songs in one night according to Barry. Pure Genius. Brothers are missed. 😢
Crazy how he rapes her and blames it on just being a man with wants lol 😂 I like this movie though, different times and what not.
This is straight disco. Disco wouldn't exist without gay dance clubs
Living in Brooklyn during the 70's was like gospel to go out every weekend dressed to the nines, and having a ball. What times!
NYC rocked back then.
one of the most romantic kisses ever put on screen. You can feel they lost themselves in each other's eyes. No vulgarity, no lust, just a man and a woman connecting at the deepest level

You can't beat the 70's the world was a much better place every Friday and Saturday at the local disco was absolutely awesome wish i could go back in time
The '60s are more-critically celebrated, but think the '70s were just a touch-more fun
Everything about this scene is romantic. They both dance so flawlessly and she keeps up effortlessly. The way they look at each other. You can feel their emotions through the performance and the slow mo is a great touch
Right
We are with and alongside the dear Inihc.
They flow together like water
I hear this and I get such a poignant burst of nostalgia...makes me cry. The soaring melody ....just takes me back to when I was aged 20... life was a mix; of dressing to the ' new romantic' nines for all day discos - with no worries in my world - and the promise of a fantastic life adventure still ahead of me. I never had a broken heart or gave one, still had all my loved ones round me and I was the happiest I have ever been in my life. Wish I could go back and live every precious moment of those years again. We who were having the time of our young lives in the seventies/eighties were surely the luckiest of all.
so true 😢
Well said and so true
Yes, we were the luckiest :)
Totally agree, I had a great time growing up in the late seventies/early eighties, we had far less and life seemed a lot more fun, less pressured. would not change it for the world!
Takes me back age 6! Love the music still at 45
This is real 1977. We often had plasters on our mugs after a sat night out, one difference, we couldn't dance like that guy Travolta.... legendary.
I'm a 18 year old male literally crying to this in my room, wasn't even close to being born in the 70's, my parents were but damn what a time and what a song. It captures that era so perfectly its like a time capsule. Future seems bleak, if I had a time machine I would go back no doubt, society will never be the same. also shout out to this scene as well the way they move around the dance floor is beautiful and mesmerizing.
The internet is your time machine.
Feel for this generation. They have traded giving you all good for evil; but fear not:
Good is forever greater than evil, and those who seek it
find it.......
I was born in 62', so I was a teenager when this movie and disco was big. Most of my friends hated disco, but the girls loved it. I remember going to an underage disco at 16 and it was something I won't forget. There were discos everywhere across the country, and Saturday Night Fever depicts that time very well, as does the movie "Rocky". Best time of my life until AIDS got on the scene in the 80's. The seventies had good movies, T.V. shows, good actors, and great music.
It makes me happy to hear you have such affection for out generation
18 in my room crying over it too :))
I was also a teen when this movie came out. So many memories of disco nights. The Bee Gees catalog is enormous. They really knew how to write a hit song that was also meaningful. Their music was the soundtrack of the 70s to me. Great memories.
"We can take forever just a minute at a time". Absolutely beautiful line and a beautiful song too.

My Father passed a month ago, and he absolutely loved the bee gees. Saturday night fever was one of his favorite movies, when I was going through his pictures when he passed he had this dvd included with our family pictures. So I knew it meant so much to him. He loved this song the most because it reminded him of my mom. Every time I hear this song it always reminds me of my dad & how big of an impact he left in my life & why my love for disco and the 70s and 80s are so big 🥺 rip dad ! I love you
im sorry for the lost of your father 😞. surely makes you sorrow nostalgic thinking the time when your father was alive. rest in peace ✝️
Rest his soul and my father too.
My dad passed 10plus years and this was his album too. Those memories come back don’t they?!
I was in a depressed state at the time that movie came to the theatres. I had nobody to hang out with and I had plans to go see that movie with my friend who stood me up. I was devastated when she told me she couldn't go with me. I literally cried crocodile tears and all of a sudden a guy friend of mine named Jorge who was a D.J. at the time told me he would take me to the move. Well after that movie he took me to a disco for the first time and from then on I became a disco queen. I couldn't get enough so when I watch this it almost brings me to tears. I just love watching him dance.
The most electrifying eye contact in film history.

The coolest part of the whole scene is when TONY fixes his collar at the end , PURE GUIDO

That's my favorite part! Tony had me impressed :) haha
They’re so in sync with each other ,I wish I could dance like that and I wish I had lived in the 70s
This scene was truly love language without the use of words. So romantic
And that is what confuses me about the movie ending, obviously TM was smitten, but wasn't she as well? Both times they play this song in the movie, it's pretty obvious that the two of them are really into each other, but the movie ending, she just backs away and acts like she is not interested in a romantic relationship, although at the very end she does kiss him. Don't quite get the ending.

Hi Jonathan! A quick factoid-Alice Cooper (an old theatrical rock star from the 70's) much later in life admitted he secretly listened to this and other Bee Gees albums as he loved the groove and the vocals. This is the greatest kiss in movie history IMHO, for one basic reason.
When Tony smiles after they kiss, after he wasn't sure how'd she react, was acknowledgement that this is probably the HAPPIEST moment of his life.

This scene is everything. The Bee Gees are timeless. John T. Looking delicious, as a 1980 baby, I ain't going front those 70s kids had it good. Shoutout to my disco babies.
Michael Jackson: "When the Bee Gees came out in the ‘70s, that did it for me. I cried. I cried listening to their music. I knew every note, every instrument.... [sings] 'How can you stop the rain from falling down?' ... I love that stuff. And when they did Saturday Night Fever, that did it for me. I said, 'I gotta do this. I know I can do this.' ... And I just started writing songs." John Lennon: "There is nothing wrong with the Bee Gees. They do a damn good job."
I.e., you (Lennon) can respect someone's work and good musicianship without liking their style. The trademark of a true musical colleague.
He liked their style.
You can definitely see/hear the BeeGees influence on MJ (Off the Wall~ His best Album, imo)
Bee Gees sometimes get a bad rap and younger people probably only know them for their disco hits but they were putting out great stuff since the 60's, they go way back since performing as kids. They were much more than just Saturday Night Fever.

Jesus that was a monster soundtrack. Every track was like a top 10 hit.
Red Davis What are your office hours
Before Thriller, this was the biggest selling album of all time
Yup, insane degree of "hitness"

I cant stop listening to this song. John is so gorgeous

May you find the exact kind-and-degree of love that you seek, if you have not done so already, dear Loretta.

Only us 60 something’s could really appreciate this decade of the 1970’s when life was so much simpler when all that really mattered was heading to the disco on the Friday or Saturday night after another week of hard graft. These were without doubt special times in my life and I will never forget the fantastic 1970’s.
Amen. One of the best times of my life. So much fun.
Amen
Watching this movie for the first time in the theater (as a 16 year old college student, back in 1977...), I was on a musical high throughout the entire film...
Going out dancing most Fridays and Saturdays (once I turned 18 [legal age...]...) back in 1979, was the highlight of my busy school week.
Watching this clip got me misty eyed, remembering all the great music that was played at every club - so many of the artists no longer here, anymore.
"Disco Music" was so many things - love ballads, funky grooves and happy, upbeat tracks, too...
I'll turn 60 in 3 days, and it makes my heart sing as I watch upcoming generations "re-discovering" the amazing wealth of musical talent that we enjoyed (and might have taken a little bit for granted...), back in the 1970's...
(And yes, I bought the movie on video cassette, as soon as it was available.😄)
the disco era only lasted about 3 years
1973 to 1980
I love this song and now this scene! I am 23 years old and I still love this kind of music
Still one of my favorite movies of all time
One of the most romantic moments in movies... When he looks down at her into her eyes intensely and then they kiss.
Yes, those 70's were good for all of you who missed it. The best music of all time-- the 50's thru the 70's. What variety we had! Miss it.
Yes stunning feeling
Simon Cook - yeah that moment between 3:00-3:10 would stop any man in his tracks.
@@justinwillis78 glad i'm not the only one who sees that... had a guy tell me once "men don't dance"... i just looked at him and thought "what a moron".
80s > 70s and i was born in 99
The way he slowly smiles after - LIFE GOALS!
1977 classic. .Bee Gees are masters. Saturday Night Fever made such success due to the amazing soundtrack 😇😁
Simplemente hermosa 😍
The Bee Gees were truly at their absolute peak with the dynamite 🧨 music from this ultra-classic film and soundtrack.

Tres beaux film Gianni merci.
