This is a great collection! We have been exploring deep into the ST/E library over here for a few years now (an of course back in the 80's) and even some of these are new to us!
Thank you very much. It is really amazing how much games have been created for the ST. Tested 100s of games in the last years (and also back in the days of course), but there is still so much to explore. Great to hear that also you found something new. Some of this games are really nice to play, my personal fav is CarVup btw...
Great video! I love Captain Dynamo, Elf, Push Over, Hook, Darius+ and Indigo. Also Ivanhoe, Brat and Impact are very enjoyable too. You made a good selection of hidden gems, keep on and let’s make part II !
More than 2/3 where perfectly known!! But I must admit, i've learn about Lorna and Dalek attack, you cannot know all, windsurf willy was my first game on atari
The Oxyd series is among the best puzzle games on the platform. The monochrome games are also beautiful! The coder, Meinolf Schneider, also created Bolo a GREAT breakout clone with total ball control (you can slow the ball down by moving your paddle away from it, give it gentle taps, and even stop it form moving). Highly convincing ball physics. If these games are truly unknown, it is very sad. Also Addictaball rocks! I would have added Archipelagos & Resolution 101.
An interesting video; don't own a ST and never played the games, The two games which caught my eye; were Lorna, a very sexy sprite and Dalek Attack, being a huge Doctor Who fan.
Elf was and still my all time favourite Atari ST game. That's mainly because of nostalgia - tough as nails as well. I managed to complete it recently, just a great game that gets no attention!
One of my favourites too! I remember completing it the first time to be greeted with the message "you killed too many fluffy animals - try again!" or something like that! I remember there being a few puzzles that forced you to start again (or back to the last save point?) if you got them wrong. Tweedle de and Tweedle dum ring a bell?
I had some of them! Impact! I forgot it! Very original sound design, I remember. I played a lot with Deflektor and of course Wind Surf Willy : I made all "tracks". After a complete loop, you begin the first level with +1 for the wind force. Skulldiggery ! Of course, I had it in colors. Same strange sound design, and very "nice" polkas for the music. Never played Elf, but I think "nightmare" would have been a good name for this game ! 😀
Many games in this sélection are actually well known. You put some unknown games between very well known games. How come Epic, Hook, Disc or Tennis Cup are unknown games?
Car Vup thank you so bloody much!!!!! Honestly I’ve been wanting to know the name of that game for donkeys, it was a very underrated game, I was addicted to it when I was a kid, great easy to play platform game, thanks for putting my mind at rest, I just want to play it now 🤦♂️
@@worldofretrogaming2248 it was very underrated wasn’t it, I think I was the only kid in my area and school that knew this game, everybody just botted sonic back then 🤦♂️
im looking for an odd game where you where an crazy old man, running in underwear with starry eyes in some old castle. There where some light beam or similar that you were suppose to control and steer with small mirrors...?
Sad to read that, but it's clear that console systems and computer had usually very different games. Personnally, I could spend hours on Maniac Mansion, BAT, Iron Lord or E-Motion, games I couldn't find on consoles. Deflektor, Elf and Super Skweek were fabulous too.
Nessaly, túl fiatal vagy. 43 évesen lett a Minecraft A kedvenc játékom, pedig commodore 16-tal kezdtem, szóval nem most kezdtem gamelni. Előtte A Warcraft, Dune, dungeon master (Atari 1040ST), F.E.A.R., Crysis voltak a nagy kedvenceim, amiért nem a játék árát fizettem ki, hanem új gépet is hajlandó voltam venni.
Perfect screen and sound captures.
Loved Bolo! Best breakout clone on any system.

Some fantastic hidden gems here.
Very nice collection! My favourites from this list are Deflektor, Push Over and Mission Elevator. 😉
Brat. Wow there's a game I haven't thought about for over 30 years!

Great video! Thanks for including also Lupo Alberto the Videogame, unfortunately unreleased but truly a challenging platformer.
I remember playing Pushover and E-motion back in the day. There were a lot of really good puzzle games on the ST.

Many ST faves here. Galactic Conqueror is so cool to play after a cr@ppy day in work!!
The only two I had were Skulldiggery a rare hi-res game and Epic which was.

Wish you had put the games name on them😔
You can see the names of the games in the timeline (chapters) and in the video description
