This was such an interesting video to watch to get insight into a realistic week as an artist (which of course will vary week to week). I really loved how you do not CRAM your days and do endless hours of painting each day - the work life balance really shined through.
Also, you seem to be very professional rather than new to editing - absolutely amazed at the attention to detail - even the way you captured walking on the street to and from the post office 😮👏🏾

And yes, as an artist, I also struggle to keep on top of my projects and all the things I need to do to make/market/sell my art. And I don't even do UA-cam! I think I might give Notion a try!
Thanks so much! Like I said at the beginning of the video, every week looks different, some are lighter and some are heavier - I definitely still get stressed, but I think that’s the same in any profession haha. Notion has certainly helped me! It’s practically my second brain now 😅

A superb film and wonderfully presented. I also appreciate the effort in shooting a video like this. So much b roll is needed to make it look as good as this.
I’d also like to be a full-time artist, but I can’t see how the week you’ve described could bring in the circa £400 (about $500) a day I need to keep the family on its feet and a roof over our heads.

Personally, I don’t have a family to care for so it’s certainly a different situation, and I can see the pressure to provide being quite stressful. But to give you some context, I sold the painting I made in this video for $695 (which I finished in a couple days), I made a print sale ($220) and am making money from UA-cam Adsense and sponsorships. My income varies from month to month, but with having multiple revenue streams and good savings habits, it’s enough to live comfortably and enjoy my work+life, which is my priority! I hope these insights are encouraging and I wish you all the best with your artistic journey 🙏

Hey Brooke, perhaps to you it doesn’t look or feel like a productive and worthwhile way to spend your life working….but man, for me, gruelling away my time behind a desk with strict office hours under the watchfull eyes of … let’s just call it “the devil wears Prada” ( hope you watched that movie, if you haven’t, highly recommended, it will make you appreciate your job and lifestyle forever and more) 😂 I enjoyed this video, it was like you took me to that life I always dream off having, loved loved loved the painting and watching how you do your magic and I enjoy being in your quirky, funny and inspiring company. I really loved this video. Your editing is superb! Also, im also an artist and ive been struggling with mistreating myself mentally for not ackdnowledging that: creating, painting, photographing, uploading, posting etcetera, is actual work. Im having a hard time convincing this side of me that im doing enough and “working” looks differently for everyone. This video just gave me the reassurance i needed!! 🧡

Yes Notion can be quite time consuming when you are starting from scratch haha, I think that's why people often choose to purchase templates to save themselves the headache!
I’m an artist finally taking the leap into selling my art online. I’m curious, how long did it take you to build your social following and to sell enough art to be able to financially sustain you full time?
Awesome, congrats! I grew my audience to 100k on instagram about 1.5 years into painting full time and that’s about the time when I could start sustaining myself - before then I was lucky to be living at home with my parents and could keep my expenses low so I could save money and dedicate all my time into my art career!

I loved the blurred out feet as well 🤣 The video is also really helpful - I‘m one of the aspiring artists who follow you and I‘m also currently doing a course by Tim Packer while simultaneously watching the mentoring sessions that you guys uploaded on UA-cam and trying to do what you did with the painting and experimenting. I‘m really thankful to have these as resources and I can really connect with it since you were 23 back then, which I am now. I feel like I have so much to do - increasing my painting skills, photographing skills, in general skills for pretty much everything 😂 I‘m currently working on my biggest comission so far as well and your video about shipping art works gave me the confidence that I‘ll actually be able to figure out how to ship it. I had to devide the painting into three parts so that shipping services would get it from Germany to Norway. Can you ship 3 Canvases in one package? 😅 I guess I‘m not as confident about it as I thought. Anyway - thank you!:-)
That’s so amazing Sophie! Congrats on your big commission! 👏 if it’s three separate canvases, I would probably wrap each one well with bubble wrap, then stack than on top of each other with thick foam board in between, and then get some plastic wrap (or something similar) to secure them all together and then wrapt the whole thing in bubble wrap again! Wouldn’t hurt to secure the top and bottom with more foam board before putting it in the box as well haha - and use a good sturdy box! Hope that helps and good luck with everything!! 🙌
