Hmm. I suspect the flickering might disappear, if you set your camera shutter to match 50Hz.

In the US, the exo terra are a lot more widely available & less expensive than the other brands you've mentioned. I wonder whether their popularity/reputation in one country led to their import (at increased price) in another.

I find no matter what bulbs I buy they all blow within a month or two so I have switched to using the cheap old fashioned clear original house bulbs, they cost £1.50 and last just as long as the expensive reptile bulbs. You can buy them online in packs of ten for about £10, I don’t bother buying brand names anymore these old fashioned bulbs give off great heat still

For me I found the super cheat bulbs didn't last very long. I use the arcadia floodlight (100w) and they are only £3.93 each on Internet reptile

@@flamingbridges1649 I’m not sure why mine don’t last long maybe there is an issue with the power mains in my house but whatever bulb I use blows within a couple of months so I’ve resorted to using the cheapest ones because they also last a couple of months. I have the same issue with all my terrariums unfortunately

I buy regular flood lights. $10 for 2 bulbs and they work perfectly

Can you tell me what wattage flood light do I use for a 40 gallon breaded dragons tank? The pet store bulbs are extremely to expensive.

@@pravionherring3760 now that halogen bulbs are banned it’s pretty impossible to find them. I stocked up on them when I found out they were being banned. If you get lucky and find some, I’m using a 60 watt.

Hey, I love your videos. I am setting up a mealworm farm, but I had a question. The net you put in there, what was the size? I have nets that are one-twentieth of an inch. I am just wondering if that is too small for the eggs and the baby mealworms to fall through. Please let me know. Thank you. Please reply.

Here in Switzerland the intense basking spot from exo terra is actually the most cheap one of them all, so i love to use them😭 (normally spots cost about 20-80Fr) so 10fr is very cheap here.

Hi I've bought an exo terra 60 x30 x 30 and I'm so confused which heat bulb to use I have a hood with a Uvb bulb but I'm worried if I use a heat bulb it will melt the plastic top

i personally like th exoterra intense.
i think if u stand it up against the arcadia flood it wont preform as well the acradia flood was great colour BUT its wasnt hitting temp very well for me and that was running 2 x 100w.
My MAIN gripe with acardia flood and halogen isnt the bulbs but their life span, they just dont hold up. i tried Swells halogens n they didnt last either. the only reliable halogen seems to be Lucky reptile which is more expensive and infact agurably less superior when first used against arcadia.
BUT life span is a HUGE factor and i cant fault exoterra intense, they have lasted me atleast 6mnths or more. i require 125/135 max surface basking for my tegus :)

I'm going to chime in with my 4 decades of experience, think hard and do your light homework. Home depot and lowes and most hardware stores carry the bulb you need at less than half the cost of these name brand junk bulbs that produce not enough UVB UVA for your animals. You'll save money buying halogen bulbs that produce exactly what you need, just don't be buying 500wat bulbs don't be stupid. They make a 75 watt that is good, they make a 90 watt now that is excellent. My tortoise chose halogen over a Petco basking bulb that cost me 2 times the amount for 1 only. My monitor's love the heat.
Be Smart, Heat is hot and fires can happen easy. Thats the last thing we want ever.
