I sold my James Cameron for this watch (aftermarket of course) and have had no regrets. I added the sailcloth and nato. All 3 provide such different looks and stances.
Love that the bracelet screws are underneath the links rather than on the sides. This watch is too thick for me but I'm sure is a perfect fit for others!
I think it's because of the new-gen in-house movement introduced with the 5015 FF in 2007. All current 40mm limited editions (and the 38mm Bathy) still have the previous-gen ultrathin FP1150 movement (albeit updated). Nevertheless, I agree that a 45mm diameter is completely outdated and they are neglecting some beautiful design IP from the past.
@@mathieudelorenzi Yeah maybe that's the case. But as the Bathyscaphe has the same movement at a case size of 43mm, i think the standard FF should be doable at 42mm? I think this would be the perfect size, as it's still a classic size who will fit most men's wrists. Not to small but most importantly not too big either.
@@mathieudelorenzi Agreed, so many people want this in 42. They did recently release a milspec special edition in 42, so they can do it. I guess they aren't having any issues selling out so they are in no hurry.
That bracelet is extraordinary alright, extraordinary that it's for a dive watch and doesn't even have the most minimal tool-free microadjustment available, let alone what it should have: something similar to Glidelock and probably a dive extension as well. I was shocked when I found this out. I adore the watch otherwise but the lack of tool-free microadjustment, especially on a dive watch, is a complete dealbreaker for me.
Me personally I like Blancpain but I like zero of their sport/tool watches. Too me there all overpriced and none have that expensive look to them. Now their dress watches are something else! Love them and that’s what this watch company does well.
A simpleton can't tell the difference between a "cheap looking" watch and an expensive one. A curved sapphire bezel with a case that has screw lugs, a complicated shape that is difficult to mass produce or copy (unlike a Rolex, IWC, or an OMEGA), with applied gold hands are not cheap. There is clearly more going on with Blancpain's sports models than their dress watches, so your trolling makes no sense. Try harder next time. Just claim that all Blancpains look cheap.
@@dereksbooks but they don’t all look cheap, just their divers and tool watches do. Don’t be butthurt because you bought one of these and want everyone to be impressed with it. Blancpain should stick with dress watches. A curved sapphire bezel does not mean expensive watch far from it. A $950 Ocean 7 LM-5 has it so obviously it’s not some Uber hard or expensive feature, many watches have screwed lugs from all price points and this “complicated shape” that’s supposedly hard to mass produce has to be bullshit because this watch is mass produced. If it wasn’t these divers would be limited editions because the shape is so hard to make no one can replicate it. The only thing about these watches that is nice is the movement. These watches are extremely overpriced and I’m guessing 80% of the price is the name. This watch is outdated and overhyped by Blancpain owners.
Isn't this watch too pretty to be taken into the sea? And what is a Fattom btw? A fat bottom? or 50 attemts to the bottom of the ocean? Who came up with the idea for this kinda name?!
Fathom is a measurement of depth. Apparently, people who know a bit more than you - no offense - come up with names like “50 scales of depth measurement” and apply such names for dive watches. Makes any sense now?
@@jumboJetPilotthe original dive watch from blancpain was water resistant upto 50 fathoms, hence the name. Buddy, just google it instead of justifying stupidity or arguing with strangers on the internet.
I just love the finishing used on these 50 Fathoms movements…sublime. Very well specified too.

No competition between Rolex and Blancpain… you made the right choice

Gray market. 'Aftermarket' doesn't mean what you think it does.

I have the black version of this watch, bracelet and all. It's just bloody awesome. Absolutely love it.
Just got some Rich Tea. Do you dip or spread anything on them or eat them without anything added?
@@BenTramer , eat 'em plain. Or dunk them in your coffee or tea.

In 42 mm it would be The King of all divers
I was going to say 40 to 41mm but I’d take 42mm on a bracelet. As far as I know the only 40mm is a limited edition
I can wear it, it's amazing 😊
Yeah it can’t be that hard. If they reduced it by 3mm it would go from unwearable to unable to be kept in stock
@@austinzizzi1142 exactly, what are they thinking?
Well, now they have released it 42mm
Wow I didn’t expect all that anglage 🔥 The watch is too big for me but that movement looks superior to 99 percent of APs

The Blancpain is gorgeous.
Like your mom
That doesn’t even make sense Stan. You really are a dumb piece of incel shit.
Somehow I still prefer the 45mm … I think the dial is still better than the 42mm
Beautiful watch 😮
Wow.
What a beauty. 🙂
Never understood why they don’t produce 40-42mm version on regular production.

None of my watches have microadjust and I’ve never noticed. Most overrated feature imo
We also need to review the black titanium version on the bracelet and not just the big date.
superb video, thank you. for a daily forever watch, would you get the blue or black face as only watch? thanks
Blue 🎉
What is the titanium grade of this Blanpain watch? Is it easy to scratch when compare with a stainless steel?
Grade 2, easier to scratch than steel …
Still tooo small should measure 65mm!!
