Beautiful watch but I’d really like to understand why it’s so expensive. I get the intricacy and materials involved but 15-16k for a watch on a sailcloth strap seems nuts. I agree. Yes, because of it’s reputation and because it’s a luxury Swiss watch then this enables them to charge these prices. Yes the movement finishing is excellent but when you think of the level of hand finishing on Grand Seikos (dial and case especially) for a fraction of the price or even the fact that you can buy a superb JLC watch with a great movement for a lot less makes me question the high cost of this one as well.

Many would wear a Submariner (or various watches which are similar to the Submariner) under a suit and it's still somewhat wears fine.
I don't think that the Blancpain's diver options are suited for that. This isn't your one-watch which you wear where ever to whatever. If you know that and can accept that, it will be your most adored watch in your collection.
I realise it’s a legendary name but personally don’t like the look of the 50 fathoms : it doesn’t have the aesthetic appeal of a say the submariner or the 62MAS imo. Also seems slightly odd having such a nicely decorated movement on such a tool-like diver. Great review though!
The date placement just looks goofy.
Agreed, Omega wart-like
it's weight please?
Great looking watch, but at $15K it should be in a precious metal outside of the rotor 🤔?
it is 18k rotor coated with platinum which is more expensive than gold. i see what you mean though - i wanna see some gold color
indeed watchesmaker have a real trouble with antireflective treatment, they're sacred by this bonus
love the watch, beautifully edited video, but omg, what an offensive bunch of watch snobs in some of the comments
Better than the Rolex Sub.
Do I’m getting enough for my money? Seriously? There are folks paying over 15K for a Rolex Submariner which is a machined mass produced watch vs the Blancpain which is hand crafted high horology
naive lmao
