its always amazing to me how people overlook how good crack a smile was, and pretend it doesn't exist. the album was fantastic, and if it had come out when it was supposed to in 1995/1996, probably would have gotten some play. it sounds fantastic, and it was a blending of their classic sound and sounded fresh for the time, and it was really well written. blues was a good compliment to the band, and i just wish people didn't pretend it wasn't part of the catalog. that being said i also love native tongue as well. very well crafted songs, and the album is great top to bottom. just not sugary poison...as much as it was soulful poison. top 10 10. valley of the lost souls 9. blame it on you 8. i won't forget you 7. bad to be good 6. ball and chain 5. tragically unhip 4. life loves a tragedy 3. life goes on 2. look what the cat dragged in 1. no ring no gets

I love the comparison of So Tell me Why and Thin Disguise. Those are my favorite songs from both bands. Often overlooked but so awesome in what they deliver. Great lists, not a big fan of Every Rose Has its Thorn but that is iconic Poison. I just have to riff off what Ryan was saying in the beginning about the stadium tour and what most are saying about Motley Crue live and it sucks that Vince just doesn’t do his job. I’m a long time diehard crue fan and I’ll tell you Vince Neil has never worked hard in his life. The guy has enough time and money to work with a top vocalist and refuses to do so because it’s work. He has always been the weak link in motley but for some reason the majority of the fans want Vince. Vince is the one single handling ruining this great band
i see your point here...however i would imagine that most fans of vince are realists now that they have shelved out $250/ticket and got a terrible vocal out of it. my guess is that if they went and got a vince clone, in their 20's, who could sound great, that over time they could probably play decent places. the hard part is that people just can't let go of the nostalgia and will stop going. mick not being there may not cause huge touring losses, but i think even with a vince clone they would take a hit to playing arena's.

Hollyweird could've been decent if they would've had better production... it sounds like a garage demo.
Poison is one of my favorites, only time I've seen them though was on the Stadium Tour. Great show, but my thought was "Bret, stop talking and play more songs." I think they could have fit another song or two with not as much stage rap. 😁

Back in our teen days , bands seem like they were “your band” , then here comes a power ballad and they are #1 on the Pop , Casey Kasem shit . I just have to riff off what Ryan was saying in the beginning about the stadium tour and what most are saying about Motley Crue live and it sucks that Vince just doesn’t do his job. I’m a long time diehard crue fan and I’ll tell you Vince Neil has never worked hard in his life. The guy has enough time and money to work with a top vocalist and refuses to do so because it’s work. He has always been the weak link in motley but for some reason the majority of the fans want Vince. Vince is the one single handling ruining this great band
i see your point here...however i would imagine that most fans of vince are realists now that they have shelved out $250/ticket and got a terrible vocal out of it. my guess is that if they went and got a vince clone, in their 20's, who could sound great, that over time they could probably play decent places. the hard part is that people just can't let go of the nostalgia and will stop going. mick not being there may not cause huge touring losses, but i think even with a vince clone they would take a hit to playing arena's.
