Hey Food Box HQ Family! Today we're unboxing, cooking, and reviewing Home Chef's oven ready meal delivery service, which they call their "Fresh & Easy" plan.
What's unique about these meals is that Home Chef gives you everything needed to prep and cook. Yes, they even include an oven-safe tin to cook the meal in. This means there's nearly zero cleanup involved after the meal is cooked.
Prep time was very minimal since the veggies came pre-chopped. So the only thing we needed to do was wash everything and pat the chicken dry before placing it in the tin, adding the seasoning, and placing it in the oven.
Once small issue we came across when cooking was that we couldn't find the recipe card. It wasn't a huge deal because we just went to the email Home Chef sends before your meals arrive and found the recipe there.
However, after we filmed this video we ended up finding the recipe cards under the packaging insulation! So if you ever end up with a box that doesn't have recipe cards, just be sure to check everywhere before cooking :).
The meal we made in this video-Cheddar and Bacon-Crusted Chicken with Roasted Zucchini-came out perfectly cooked. The chicken was moist and succulent, plus the veggies were crunchy and fresh. Who doesn't love bacon and cheese?
Overall, I'm impressed with these oven ready meals. Home Chef really does make it simple to get dinner on the table by just allowing you throw everything in a pan and set the oven. Prep time was under 5 minutes and cooking was around 20 minutes so it was around 25 minutes to get a full dinner on the table with very little work involved.

This review is spot on - My wife Lisa and I have had more than 300 Home Chef meals and it definitely is best for us. No leftovers and the meals are fantastic with tons of variety. No contract you can skip a week anytime and only need 3 meals per week to get free shipping. Plus you get to order up to 4 weeks in advance. A no brainer for those who get tired of hearing "What's For Dinner?"

We just made that one last week, it was really good. Our boxes do come with recipe cards, so I think yours were missing.
We ended up finding it under the insulation lol whoops!

Very helpful review! do you know if an order can be mixed and matched? For example, maybe 1 - 2 oven ready meals and 1 traditional meal kit in a single weekly order? If so, that would be great!
You can! The Fresh & Easy plan actually prioritizes all types of easy recipes, including traditional meal kit recipes (they just happen to have a lot of oven ready ones).
I really want to try it but the price is a lot. Especially since I can get it from the store much cheaper. I guess it's paying for convenience

That does not look filling or a full meal.
Definitely a full meal and appropriate portions. I initially thoughts the same, but they’ve worked out great.
