In my opinion flip cameras are not Future. This mechanism is cool but not up to mark and is very inconvenient and as oppo and Mi has announced their in display cameras. According to me that is the future of camera.

I had a galaxy s8+ since jan 2018, i bought a galaxy A30 for 180 dollars now and man i will never buy an expensive phone.
Who would move from an S8+ willingly (unless it was destroyed)

S8+ is higher chance to play game of no lag and better camera lenses, the A are still using cheap lense....!

So never mind the advance in going totally bezel-less, having the same quality in the front-face camera as the back, and still incorporating the finger print scanner, somehow this phone is a "fail"... Going totally bezel-less while being able to have back-camera-quality front-camera and still use fingerprint, is far more groundbreaking than having a "better camera" or "better speaker". Don't fall for this Apple-sponsored, Apple-bought, Apple-sellout propaganda. This guy is a totally bottom.
After my last phone, i will never update my phone, imagine my s8+ started overheating and lagging really badly untill the screen touch refused to work except in a freezer lol, i bought another phone

I hate how youtubers that review phones compare them to flagships. Samsung did history with this phone Period. Guys it's a great phone for a great price. Your gonna get a lot of heads turning towards you when that camera flips around (which is nice). I have mine and I love it.

THANK YOU Danny for NOT skimming over the fact that it has the lesser snap dragon plus the details on pluses and minuses of the Snapdragon 700 series i feel like other youtubers just gloss over the Snapdragon NOT being 800 series it doenst matter how you use it bottom line is you can expect a not great experience in the long run and all the negatives you mentioned are HUGE even if it is mid tier but like you said price makes it Garbage i agree

PURPLE PUCKER agree. “It’s not very good at doing wide angle selfies”???? The camera is awesome, so as I dont buy a phone as a vanity accessory it will be great. I’d get this phone over Apple products anytime.

Just updated my A50 and the in display finger print scanner is responsive and fast. Had the same problem too but i think an update should solve that
Had this phone for 2 months now. Sold because of the full screen experience! No other phone has a full flushed screen that appeals to me. At this moment. Truly 2019 phone for me.

I've had my A80 since for about 8 months, upgrading from iPhone 6s and its nice but I sometimes wish I'd gone for the A90 instead cause of 5g compatibility and wireless charging (and small selfie camera bezel allowing for facial recognition). Its still a decent phone though

i think samsung all A series have some cons in their products...i'd rather buy a samsung galaxy s9 than buy A70, or A80 etc...

From what I can see, they're repeating the same mistakes as HTC before their downfall. Too many variants and overpricing. Samsung is competing with itself. If the pricing is also muddied, you'll begin to see a decline in market share.

I wish they would just make one with no front camera, I don't think I have used the selfie camera in years. This is the closest I would get to a phone I want.
I purchased the A80 day1 it was released here in the Philippines. I was really excited with it at first, but got disappointed right away with its in-display fingerprint scanner. I get more fails than it going through. As for the camera, you get quality shots if you are using the cam as it is, but when u flip it for selfie, the resolution is not as good as when it is as rear cam. The battery is just fine, charging is grear, superfast... I already sold it, and got a cheaper, but very decent phone, and i am happy with Huawei now.

just bought this for a steal £265 and i love it. my only gripes are with the speaker loudness and quality and the fingerprint scanner but otherwise its just a different and unique fone. i actually prefer the display compared to the op7t pro
I got this phone because i dont take selfies often, but wanted a samsung. All the other samsungs have those horiffic black hole for the front cameras, which im not using enough to warrant. So when i need a front camera, its there, but it can go away and not just leave a big hole in my display, i use my phone to watch content all day so a hole in the image is an apsolute no.
I have the A80 and I think that it rocks🙌

Great review! But I can't understand what the hell is Samsung doing in it's camera department, I was thinking of buying this phone due to it's bezel less display but the quality of images is really not impressive specially the live focus bokeh looks so fake.

If you are looking for a worst fingerprint scan, I suggest you try the Nokia 8's. I simply can't used it.

I still have an iPhone 6+ with the speaker so I’m used to having one speaker and I’m not really the type of person to expect ultra peak performance because usually I’m just on social media apps and streaming services and I don’t really take hella pictures anyway but basically all I’m saying is that I just want the phone for the 6.7in super amoled infinity display

Samsung's mid tier phones have bad cameras. It's weird but sadly it's true. It's better to just buy an older Samsung flagship rather than buying a mid range Samsung device..
My phone is 250 us dollars and it has a 13mp camera the iphone 11 has a 12mp and its 1000 dollars

The lense on the iphones 11 is sharper brighter and clearer think as buying $4000 telescope better then a cheap telescope.

Yep Samsung has cheap lense for the A series, the S series are better the lense are not cheap close to the iphone lenses.
Ummm, all of those ultra wide shots looked better than the main which are ridiculously overexposed. The muted colours actually accentuate the foreground.

The problem with this phone is that you usually have to buy it new every time from import.
People who buy the S10 and S9 will eventually sell them second hand; I’m finding the S10 at $500 for very good conditions and S9 for $350 on eBay. I don’t know the appeal behind these phones unless you _really_ can’t buy used.
Well it's the first gen version of this kind of phone so of course there will be some issues.
I'm sure the next year model will be better and fix these issues.
For now, I think if you want a big, Galaxy phone, you could always wait for the Note 10 which I think is going to be released soon?
But this isn't normally sold in the US so it won't matter that much for a lot of people, right?

This camera module would solve Galaxy Fold's big notch and too many cameras orientation problem.
They would have to make the fold thicker I think to make that happen but let’s see. The A series is always a test bed for other Galaxy Devices.

A80 has higher chance to play game better and smoother then A70 thats 20% more power then A70.
both are 8 gb of rams but rams is do to the memory it hold, how much apps you open up without closing or if your going screen record gameplay depending on the power of your snapdragon ghz.
You don't test it by going to apps to apps, test it by playing pudg call of duty mobile or league of legend.
The camera are the same lenses for picture, your not getting the power of the S10 plus lenses.
A Series will always use the same lense quality.
My only cons for the device is that it doesnt have an earpiece speaker, so when someone calls me i cant hewr them and it really bugs me. Also the camera is kinda bad at night shots
It's a phone I'm interested in everything on a phone but a camera, I don't buy a phone for the camera, I want something that I can use alot and it will keep up .

Yes apart from the extremly weak performance, and depending on the price you can get it from, in the UK you can get them within £50-100 of each other so the a80 isn't that bad an option however the a80 is still overpriced

@@reidjordan4545 another user who has the A80 messaged me and let me know that it does NOT use the main camera flash in selfie mode. It only uses the phone screen as the flash, which is a shame. Even my Honor 10 phone has a front facing flash on the selfie camera.
