I love wardrobe organisation!! About 15 months ago, I did the KonMari method. It was transformational. I got the thin velvet hangers with hooks. I also got the skirt and pant hangers with hooks. I put one item per hanger and stack them. That way I use vertical space. I only have about 7 hangers vertically but each hanger holds between 3 - 7 items depending on weight. I can see things at a glance. I also got the clear plastic shoe boxes. The uniformity and transparency is a double whammy!! I can easily stack them and can see what's inside. When I was getting this organised, I also got an OOTD hook. I plan my outfit the night before and it's great to have that already sorted. I also got a scarf hanger. I fold each scarf and hang them on the flat rod. Each rod can come out when I need to get an individual scarf. I find that the best way as it is pre-ironed and ready for wearing. For years I have packed away my out of season clothes and now I only have my current season in my wardrobe. I usually do that seasonal changeover twice a year, but as I have so much time on my hands lately, I did a mid season changeover. Now, I can honestly say that now when I open my wardrobe door, my heart leaps with joy. The inside of my wardrobe is a sight to behold. I literally feel like I am shopping my closet. it is definitely worth the time and money to invest in sorting it out. Thanks for sharing your tips, Erin. I learn something from you everytime. I will download that checklist.
Once you really take the time to do it and do it right it's so fablous. Plus it's so wonderful that everything has a place and it goes back to its place. And it's so nice to be able to find it!!
Minha Yeo I was just thinking that! Lol! I'm on the east coast, closets are usually tiny. Lived only in one place where I had a great big walk in closet like she has here. Loved that closet!
Excellent ideas. I just changed out my closet yesterday to Spring/Summer clothes. I love sweaters and one thing I did last year was place all my winter sweaters in 2 gal zip lock bags. It keeps them clean, neat, keeps any critters away aka moths and when I travel I just take the bag and place it in my suitcase. It has worked very well for me. The container store has been a big help to me. I purchased their shoe bins. I have a good size scarf collection and I have neatly folded them and placed them in zip lock bags also. Then they are placed in a larger bin under my dresser. Enjoyed your presentation. Wish I could have a dressing room...in my dreams.
Great video. One of the best things I did in my closet is put in a pullout bar for hanging clothing. I can use it to set up an outfit or to hang up a lightly worn outfit to air out from the day (perfumes and such) before I put it back away next to other clothing. Looking forward to the next video.
If you are concerned about bugs (as we are maybe a little more in Florida) I do not use paper or cardboard boxes for storage. You could also roll up plastic store bags and stuff shoes/boots.
I use canvas hanging bags for my most worn shoes like the shoes I wear to work, sandals, and tennis shoes. They can be hung from a closet rod or from under a shelf with slats and only take up about 5 inches. There are 10 slots in each bag, and you can put multiple pairs of small shoes in each hole. They can also be used to store other small items.
Erin, This is such a perfect video for me today. I couldn't take any more news this early in the day and this is just want I need -- some good "action" steps to take. And it's nice to see your beautiful smiling face. I always come away from your videos feeling inspired. This is such a difficult time in our country and in the world. Please stay safe everyone. Much love, prayers and big (virtual) hugs to all. And thank you Erin for bringing some brightness to our day. ❤️ S
I use pool noodles from the dollar store for boots. I don’t precut them, put the noodle in your boot, mark how tall it needs to be, then cut it for that pair. Custom fit. Nothing beats velvet hangers. I find that wooden pant hangers work better for me than plastic ones because the metal clips keep getting mixed up with their neighbors and snagging other clothing.
What a great informative video! I so enjoy your positiveness, encouragement and glow! I have a 5ft closet and I'm always challenged with my clothes. I do need to purdge some clothes but I'm very indecisive... It's a vicious circle! Lol.. thank you for all you do!
I keep all my shoes and boots in my downstairs coat closet so I’m not trapping through the house in dirty shoes. I prefer velvet hangers, the ones I have have swivel heads. Thanks for the great tips!
I do the same! Also have a few of my less frequently worn shoes in boxes in my upstaires clothes closet. But we take our shoes off when coming in.👌🏻 (Grew up in Europe) When I think about what could be on the bottom of shoes, especially after a flight... 😖😖😖🤢
Excellent tips and very timely, thanks so much! I’ve always used the similar hangers and hanging by colour and type tips. Now I need to purge, so it’s a good project to tackle. Thanks!
Love this series one of my favorites ,especially this time of year .I’m so excited to be home and be able to dive into it a little deeper than a four-day weekend😊❤️🎊
Love having shoes in bins! As a compulsive labeler 🤣 I also label those shoe bins. I make the paper as large as the end of the bin and print the shoe description fairly large, all in the same font. Then I use clear packing tape to tape it inside the bin. The uniform white paper/cardstock with black printing appeals to me more than shadowy shoe shapes. Also, I *can* remember what’s in each bin, but I don’t want to.
During this time I have been decluttering..Thanks for this video. We live in a charming cottage house that once was a fishing cabin . We have one closet. During the beginning of a traumatic time, I lost twenty pounds. After the age of sixty, weight loss shows in your face. I looked so much older. I gained most of it back . By then I was stress eating...so all the smaller clothed my family and friends bought me or gave meare going to our church outreach. I am going to use your tips to do a better closet organization. I need those bins. Oh we once had three cats....Campbell, Noodle and Soup..Noodle was a favorite...I like that word..lol..Thanks again. You are the best..I am going to binge watch you to get caught up. Hope your mom is well. Your grandmother looked to be quite the fashion icon..Sorry for your loss. ❤❤❤
Thank you for these tips!motivating me ! Love your closet... Big closet compared to what I've had. Only once did I have a bigger one like you have. Loved that closet.
thank you so much for this great video! i watch all of your videos, you have the best style! this closet one is one of the best i have seen, cant wait for the next organizing videos. again, thank you so much!!
Loving your videos during this time! I would like you to talk about your love for fashions and clothes, specially in the context of debates on sustainability where people are encouraging (and been encouraged) to own less. I would love to hear your own experience as someone who loves clothes because I am in the same page as you. Stay safe and healthy!
This video is much needed! Please make the other organizational videos. At this age, we have plenty of time to organize our jewelry and things. I wish you and your family well during the quarantine! 💖💖💖
Thanks for the great refresher, Erin. My tiny closet is actually already in good shape, but you just inspired me to buy (online) a bunch of fancy wooden hangers with "shoulder" ends to help my coats and good blazers keep their shape :)
As always, very useful tips👍🏻👌🏻 Pool noodles are awesome for tall boots, but when they get old and start to crumble a bit, just put them in old cut off hosiery and tie a knot on top. Or use cut off long sleeves from your old Tshirts or sweats...
Hi Erin, this is one of the most helpful videos I've seen on closet organization. Thank you so much. I look forward to your future organizational videos. I love this style channel but I am curious how you organize your kitchen. Thank you for being here for us. xo, Cowgirl Deb
Hi Erin great video I love your closet it's so beautiful and a lot of space and you are a great organizer and I love the shoes and how to store them because I have so many of them like 75 pairs or so and I love shoes. Thank you for this amazing video Erin I love to come and see the great work you do and you are so expiring and funny. Stay safe and thank you. Love XO
Great ideas!! We live in a old, stone house built in 1900s....the closets are tiny. I'll hv to check out your purging vids....wish me luck. Re COVID-19 Please stay safe everyone💕💓❤
Erin, Could you a video about what is a reasonable amount of specific items we should have? I have so many tees, purses, sweaters! I am having a hard time parting with them. Love your videos, they are so helpful. Thank you. Janet
Oh Boy!! I Sure Can Use This Information!! My Closet Will Thank You!! Such Great Tips Erin!! I Enjoyed This Video Very Much!! Thank You!! Please You and Yours Stay Safe and Well!! xox
Loved watching this Erin, I only wish you could come and purge and organize my tiny, under dormer, dark small, cedar closets...and living in cold North East, I have many sweaters, which I usually pack away in plastic boxes over the spring/summer...into the attic they go (my husband just loves to help!) Stay well Erin ☺️💕
✨Erin, Erin, Erin,✨ You are thorough & incredibly helpful.👗 Thank you for sharing your expert suggestions.👒👜 Love the box to store our essentials in .... Great idea 💡 💐 Continue to take care. 🙋🏼 🇨🇦
Belts rolled up in the drawer... I spy the silver metal/chain belt that I have too. I have been waiting patiently to rock once again, now I know who to look to for eventual inspiration.
Wow i wish i had time to do this but im still working full time (dont worry its at home) never been busier! Good job my dear, keep up the great work 👍💜
Thank you so much for the tips. I am planning on getting my closet in order this week...I have a tiny reach in closet and I could definitely organize it better. Be safe! ❤️
Tip - when buying clothes, I always ask the cashier to keep, the item on the hanger. Mist will oblige. However, those hanger hooks always turn rusty after a while which is the equivalent to ails on a chalkboard for me.
I love this video!! I share tiny closet in our Master bedroom as well. And then I have 2 other bedrooms downstairs with other clothes and shoes and belts and bags... hate it . I always feel in organized. Up and down UGH . Anyway I did like some of the things you mentioned especially the linen bins . God knows I have the time now😳
Hi Erin. I just watched your video today. It’s crazy, everywhere I hear we have more time on our hands now, but I actually have less! Lol...I’m still working full time, plus home schooling and on top of that moving and organizing my new home. That’s right, I just moved in the middle of all this mayhem. Which makes these videos extremely useful. I already employ many of the tips you suggest, color coding my clothes, the shoes facing different directions...or I least I used to in my old closet. I used to have shelves and had my shoes neat and organized like that. In my new closet I still haven’t found a solution for my shoes. I don’t have an ancillary closet and I can’t put shelves because we are renting. I looking for a solution that would be practical and easy to move because in a year or so we will probably be moving again 🤦🏼♀️ seriously considering bins. I just want some that are stackable and lock together for easy moving and are sturdy and not crazy expensive. Quite a lot of requirements 😅
Erin, I love all your ideas! I like those velvet hangers and the tops on mine move so I can go either direction. I don't know which ones don't do that, but all the ones that I've seen do. Also, I like to have a few padded hangers for lightweight sweaters and tops that hang, instead of fold. So, mine aren't all matching but I still feel like they look good. 😊
I love your videos very much Erin. My shoe tip: Keep shoes out of the closet and by the entry way on a shoe shelf. The ones I currently wear are there, the others I put in the basement. Shoes are very dirty. We step on all sorts of nasty things. Leave them off at the door, and wear house shoes inside. 😊
I am working on my closet right now. After loosing 35 pounds I am getting rid of all my fat clothes and putting away summer clothes. So much more room now. You must check out velvet covered hangers. They take up less room and keep your clothes from slipping.
I had to show your video to my husband to show him yes, I am “ normal” I have many shoes, white blouses, boots, etc. he doesn’t get why women have and buy so many clothes. Meanwhile, he is building me a walk-in closet inside our master bedroom. Thank you for this video. Now on to The Container store to check the bin prices, hopefully not too expensive!
I keep my formal wear in an ancillary closet to leave room in my master bedroom closet for the clothes I wear on a regular basis. Formal events are rare for me so this just makes.
My closet is so small you can't even 'step into it'. But I still got some good tips from you. Thanks couldn't be a better time to do these kinds of vids.
Congratulations Erin 💞💞💞 I also storage my clothes as you, but the big difference is that I haven't space for room closet... I'm jealous 😲😲😲 kisses from Greece 💚💙💜💛
I have a question for you, do you have any tricks for wrinkles and folded clothes? My T-shirts and cami's and many other things get too wrinkled to wear in a drawer. I do have a small steamer but I NEVER have enough time to iron or steam something before I leave the house. Help! btw: that color green looks so so pretty on you. xoxo
Great video! I am now putting my donate bags directly into my car trunk. This way, if I see a donation box in a parking lot or I'm driving by a Goodwill, I drop it off. I don't even make a special trip. Also, my boyfriend recovered from the virus in less than a week. ❤️♥️💜💙
Great tips. I've got a large master closet and I'm kind of an organizational geek. My issue is getting motivated to go through everything and edit out what I no longer need or want. lol
I hang just everything that isn't an undergarment. I've never figured out how to fold & store things without them ending up all wrinkled and I don't see the point of wasting time steaming or ironing. I do store all off-season item in bins in my spare room, including shoes. I built a shoe shelf- very easy. It's long rather than tall and I keep it under my tops.
I love wardrobe organisation!!

It is amazing how something as small as an organized closet can make us feel so good! Thank you for sharing, Heather! xo
Once you really take the time to do it and do it right it's so fablous. Plus it's so wonderful that everything has a place and it goes back to its place.
And it's so nice to be able to find it!!
It is such a great feeling once you are done! xo
Her "teeny tiny" closet is huge! I don't even have a closet, I have a 1 qm wardrobe
Minha Yeo I was just thinking that! Lol! I'm on the east coast, closets are usually tiny. Lived only in one place where I had a great big walk in closet like she has here. Loved that closet!
You're so right about matching hangers making a big difference in how your closet feels!
It really does make a difference! xo

Love this! I have an inexpensive diy hack for boot trees - doesn’t look awful, haha! Bubble wrap, rolled and taped work beautifully and look uniform!
That's a great idea! Thank you for sharing, Gayle! xo
Great video.
One of the best things I did in my closet is put in a pullout bar for hanging clothing. I can use it to set up an outfit or to hang up a lightly worn outfit to air out from the day (perfumes and such) before I put it back away next to other clothing.

Thank you, Catherine! Those "pull out bars" are great! xo
I use old magazines rolled inside my boots to have them stand. A green solution!
That's a great idea! Thank you for sharing, Cheri! xo
Fantastic idea using rolled up newspapers for your boots.
My Boots are laying flat, there is no were to keep them standing up and besides, how do you store thigh high, Stewart Weitzman?
@@carolinelala9818 Use the pool noodles, cut to necessary height. Dollar Tree has them.
If you are concerned about bugs (as we are maybe a little more in Florida) I do not use paper or cardboard boxes for storage. You could also roll up plastic store bags and stuff shoes/boots.
Shoe tree, what a genius idea! I put old newspapers into my boots. Thanks a lot, great video as usual!

Thank you so much for your "virtual hug" I hope that you and your family are staying safe! xo
I color coded my closet using the rainbow color. I really appreciate all your wisdom on how to dress.
You're SO welcome! I bet it look AMAZING! xo
This is so excellent. The fact that you provide the checklist is so awesome! You are one of my favourite utube personalities!
Thank you so much, Janice! You are so sweet! xo

You are so welcome, Diana! xo
The hangers I have are velvet with swivel heads. They also have the regular part of the hanger as well as clips for bottoms.
Great. ..Hope to see more off these videos !Thanks again for sharing your outstanding ideas.
Glad you liked this one, Tina! xo
The brand of shoes I buy here in Australia come in boxes with a pull out drawer with a description of the shoe and a little cord handle - Frankie 4s.
That sounds great! xo
Love this series one of my favorites ,especially this time of year .I’m so excited to be home and be able to dive into it a little deeper than a four-day weekend😊❤️🎊

I put skeins of yarn in my boots to keep them standing. Also, good to store my extra yarn.
Great tip! xo

Also, I like to have a few padded hangers for lightweight sweaters and tops that hang, instead of fold. So, mine aren't all matching but I still feel like they look good. 😊
I prefer the plastic ones, but I know a lot of people like the velvet hangers. I'm glad you found some that work well for you. xo
Got those checklists in my email this morning, great project for the weekend! Thanks for the energizing content!
Great! I hope you find them helpful! xo
I am so happy to hear someone else that thinks "ROYGBIV" when they are in their closet! 😂
Seriously the best!
I sort my tops by color and sleeve type. I fold everything that i can to save hanging space With the konmari method.
Hi! Can I ask why you prefer these types of hangers vs those thin hangers that a lot of people use that have that suede type covering?
Rebecca Bilderback They are called space hangers, I think and I was wondering the same thing. That is all I use except for heavy items like coats.
Great info, the green on you looks amazing, your eyes are beautiful.
Thank you! xo
Thank you Erin! Great tips!
Thank you, Chantal! xo
I am working on my closet right now. After loosing 35 pounds I am getting rid of all my fat clothes and putting away summer clothes. So much more room now. You must check out velvet covered hangers. They take up less room and keep your clothes from slipping.
I would love to have your tiny closet! 😃
Me too 🤣
I had to show your video to my husband to show him yes, I am “ normal” I have many shoes, white blouses, boots, etc. he doesn’t get why women have and buy so many clothes. Meanwhile, he is building me a walk-in closet inside our master bedroom. Thank you for this video. Now on to The Container store to check the bin prices, hopefully not too expensive!
Awesome series. Thank You !!
Thank you! xo
I keep my formal wear in an ancillary closet to leave room in my master bedroom closet for the clothes I wear on a regular basis. Formal events are rare for me so this just makes.
That's the way to do it especially if you don't need access to it frequently. xo
Thanks! Definitely going to be doing this on the down time.
what's still standing spray ("for standing all day in heels"). Maybe I can use this! at around 14:50
Yes…and it’s fantastic. Here is a link so that you can learn more about it: rstyle.me/cz-n/fumwr9cp6x7 ~Team Busbee
@@BusbeeStyle THANK YOU
My closet is so small you can't even 'step into it'. But I still got some good tips from you. Thanks couldn't be a better time to do these kinds of vids.
Thank you! It's even more important to be organized if you have a small space! xo
Great video, thank you ♥️♥️
Thank you, Amy! xo
@@BusbeeStyle yw ♥️♥️..love all your videos...stay healthy and safe
Very informative! Love your blouse too! Is it new?
Thank you, Elizabeth! xo
Get these organization videos out please, great time to do this!
I have a few more coming! Stay tuned! xo
Great tips!! The only thing I didn't see in this video was an actual tiny closet🤣🤣
😂😂
I am so excited about this video, I am literally in the process of redoing my closet!!!! 🙌🙌
Yay! I'm so glad! xo
Congratulations Erin 💞💞💞 I also storage my clothes as you, but the big difference is that I haven't space for room closet... I'm jealous 😲😲😲 kisses from Greece 💚💙💜💛
Thank you! Sometimes you have to get creative! xo
Thanks for all your great tips! /Marie from Sweden
Thank you, Marie! I'm so glad that you found this helpful! xo
I have a question for you, do you have any tricks for wrinkles and folded clothes? My T-shirts and cami's and many other things get too wrinkled to wear in a drawer. I do have a small steamer but I NEVER have enough time to iron or steam something before I leave the house. Help! btw: that color green looks so so pretty on you. xoxo
You could try rolling your tee shirts. Sometimes this helps them crease less. xo
Great video! I am now putting my donate bags directly into my car trunk. This way, if I see a donation box in a parking lot or I'm driving by a Goodwill, I drop it off. I don't even make a special trip. Also, my boyfriend recovered from the virus in less than a week. ❤️♥️💜💙
I use magazines for boots too.
It's funny to see what you consider a teeny tiny closet. Your closet is quite a bit larger than mine. I don't have a walk in closet.
Great tips. I've got a large master closet and I'm kind of an organizational geek. My issue is getting motivated to go through everything and edit out what I no longer need or want. lol
It can be hard to get motivated, but it feels so good when it is all organized! xo
Get the marie kondo books, she will show you how to fold anything
Thank you for this video! My closet is a quarter of yours 😂😘
We never have time for this.......now we have the time. Off to watch the purging video.
We sure do! I hope you find these videos helpful! xo
