Before I watched this video I’d always save in the village and restart my switch. I was focusing on a Rhydon outbreak. A hisuian zoroark outbreak popped up, so I decided to go for that instead. Got my first ever shiny in a Pokémon game after only 3 times. Thank you so much!!! This is so easy to follow
The two key things you must do on each reset: 1. *Return to town* to load new spawns. 2. *Save the game* to keep your position in the chain. Number 2 seems unnecessary, but if you don't do this, returning to town after resetting will just load the same "new" spawns every time. Other non-outbreak spawns *will* change, though, and it can even spawn new outbreaks, so it's very misleading. Apparently, the outbreak predetermines how many times you must return to town before a shiny will appear, so you can't just save once and reset over and over, the game has to remember how many versions of the outbreak you've generated. I was trying to do it without step 2 for a while, and eventually realized the spawns weren't changing.
@@jacoblundie3533 If the outbreak changes, just reset without saving until it stays. Usually best to save at the camp after leaving town again, since the outbreak can only change when going back to town.

I’ve got 3 shinies in game so far (4 counting Ponyta), two random and one on the first mass hunt encounter, but have spent the better half of my day resetting from the village. Great video! Btw its interesting with game crashes, my game so far has yet to crash once after 42.5 hrs *Knocks on wood* (On a Switch OLED). I wonder if its more common on different models or idk what. So hard to figure these things out; maybe it also might just be that i have only been in the 1st 3 regions so maybe farther on its more likely idk. Either way you and Austin John have been very helpful, this is by far the most time i have put into a Pokemon game (Especially without progressing that far in the story). There has only really been one Pokemon game in the past i actually hit credits on (Pokemon X). It's great, i can't stop playing it's so good. *Edit* have since finished the game, research level 10ed everything and put in 110 hours. Apparently my switch didn't crash so that's the thing. I can't say this method has gotten me any new shinies BUT it did get me an ALPHA TOGEPI by redoing an outbreak multiple times! I definitely have hope in this when I actually have the resources to shiny hunt.

Very very good video. Was loading the same ourbreak for over an hour until you explained it to me. Just used the chain outbreak method and on chain 5 or 6 i encountered my shiny voltorb and saved. It exploded so turned off and restarted only to discover he was gone. When seeing a shiny it is important to save BEFORE it notices you. If it becomes hostile and you save then loading it will NOT load the pokemon instead they are lost forever. I leaned this the hard way. Also voltorbs are little sh*&s to shiny hunt haha Keep up the great videos man.

I was listening to this video in the background playing Legend Arceus (yes, I started playing this game late) and exactly when you found the shiny Kricketune, I found a shiny Kricketot myself. I called her Fia.
I'm not sure saving before the shiny Floatzel would have worked. I tried saving in before going into a Space Time Distortion, then I fainted while inside. When I reloaded the Distortion was gone. But then again, I was outside of it, and it hadn't started yet. So perhaps it works differently once it starts.
Most of these methods I have already known and have seen videos about but man you explain it so clearly and leave the viewers with very little questions. Most of the tutorials I got were pretty well explained but left a lot of little details or reminders of steps you need to follow.
This is the best tutorial out there. Every other video fails to properly explain why saving at the campsite is important. And this video is backed by independent testing. Another (more viewed) shiny hunting tutorial straight up had post-game spoilers when he used his team to clear an outbreak 🤡.
As of writing this, the latest patch dropped and this outbreak method doesn’t seem to work anymore. The mons are either changed or the outbreak despawns once you leave for Jubilife

In the past 2 and a half hours I’ve caught shiny: happiny, spheal, piplup, rhyhorn and magicarp. All of them except spheal which was a bastard we’re on my first outbreak attempt and in succession to eachother. Must have had all bar spheal in the space of 30 minutes. This method rocks
If you’re chaining using the SMO method you don’t have to save multiple times - only once. Once you go to the Village and come back it resets the Pokémon your hunting.

Watched Adrive try to explain this (all love to him) but felt like there was miscommunication , spent 4/5 hours hunting the same mob, after watching this got Hisui sneasel at the end of this video after correcting some steps, thanks for testing this out!
I still can’t figure it out, been hunting for a day straight, I save when I enter the camp area of the outbreak I want and then go to the outbreak catch all the Pokémon if it’s not shiny I close the game and it resets me back at camp and I talk to the professor and go to the village and then talk to Rees and usually there’s a outbreak of the same one I wanted and I go to it and still haven’t found a shiny after hours of attempts

If you think about it, due to the odds increase being so massive between not having level 10 on their page and having it, if you happen to not have that particular entry finished you could probably avoid the outbreak, do the tasks, and then report but stay in the area.

Best mass outbreak shiny guide on youtube. This made me confident enough to fail a shiny multiple times and most of all use as little resources as possible in the process
I’ve never seen somebody try and explain something for so long and not actually say anything. Just get to the point. This video could have been 3 minutes long.
FYI for people doing this. I'm doing it now, and ice noticed that you don't actually have to fully clear out the outbreak. I got 2 Haunter last night in a Mass Outbreak. They both showed up on the second reset for the breakout. However the Haunter we're giving my team the work so I had to back off a little to heal and right after healing the second shiny Haunter spawned, even before I could catch the first! That was by far one of my most chaotic experiences in PLA! *Edit: I'll be sticking with the Single Mass Outbreak chaining method.
I've yet to find a mass outbreak at all, how do i fix this? i've tried going in and out of the village and i've done it 15-20 times by now and nothing has appeared.
Same but don't falter! I got 2 random shiny drifloon while hunting a starly lmao! If i get another drifloon i might snap mentally. Got my starly after 2 days of trying tho :D it helps if you get their dex entry to level 10 as well
I encountered a shiny geodude purely by chance in a geodude mass outbreak. That is the first shiny I've ever caught in a console Pokémon game and I wasn't even looking for it! The tips you've provided are quite insightful. I'll see if I can catch more shinies. I'd really like to get a shiny magikarp and a shiny machop.
if you encounter a shiny in a space time distortion then dont worry about saving it, because if you restart ur game the event isnt there and nor is any of the pokemon, the best way to try and get it is just enter a battle with it.

In the past 2 and a half hours I’ve caught shiny: happiny, spheal, piplup, rhyhorn and magicarp. All of them except spheal which was a bastard we’re on my first outbreak attempt and in succession to eachother. Must have had all bar spheal in the space of 30 minutes. This method rocks

If you’re chaining using the SMO method you don’t have to save multiple times - only once. Once you go to the Village and come back it resets the Pokémon your hunting.
I'm glad they bumped the odds like this in a primarily single player game

i got a shiny ponyta from this method, then learned there is a free one later on. Sad. Guess it helps for a living dex tho

I still can’t figure it out, been hunting for a day straight, I save when I enter the camp area of the outbreak I want and then go to the outbreak catch all the Pokémon if it’s not shiny I close the game and it resets me back at camp and I talk to the professor and go to the village and then talk to Rees and usually there’s a outbreak of the same one I wanted and I go to it and still haven’t found a shiny after hours of attempts

If you think about it, due to the odds increase being so massive between not having level 10 on their page and having it, if you happen to not have that particular entry finished you could probably avoid the outbreak, do the tasks, and then report but stay in the area.

FYI for people doing this. I'm doing it now, and ice noticed that you don't actually have to fully clear out the outbreak. Just keep catching one, maybe two, untill no more spawn, then continue as he says. Love this video PhillyBeatsU

I got 2 Haunter last night in a Mass Outbreak.
They both showed up on the second reset for the breakout. However the Haunter we're giving my team the work so I had to back off a little to heal and right after healing the second shiny Haunter spawned, even before I could catch the first!
That was by far one of my most chaotic experiences in PLA!
*Edit: I'll be sticking with the Single Mass Outbreak chaining method.
I hate that I'm doing everything right but I still haven't seen a shiny.

I just caught a Shiny Golbat on my way to the Gastly Outbreak just to find an Alpha Gastly and a Shiny Gastly as well, woot!
I've yet to find a mass outbreak at all, how do i fix this? i've tried going in and out of the village and i've done it 15-20 times by now and nothing has appeared.

Same but don't falter! I got 2 random shiny drifloon while hunting a starly lmao! If i get another drifloon i might snap mentally. Got my starly after 2 days of trying tho :D it helps if you get their dex entry to level 10 as well

I encountered a shiny geodude purely by chance in a geodude mass outbreak. That is the first shiny I've ever caught in a console Pokémon game and I wasn't even looking for it! The tips you've provided are quite insightful. I'll see if I can catch more shinies. I'd really like to get a shiny magikarp and a shiny machop.

if you encounter a shiny in a space time distortion then dont worry about saving it, because if you restart ur game the event isnt there and nor is any of the pokemon, the best way to try and get it is just enter a battle with it.
