thought of a great way to get grit gravel when you are shiny breeding in a different Pokemon game transfer all your extra Pokemon to your Legends Arceus game through Pokemon home and then release them all I field about five boxes and averaged around 300 great gravel leave a like on this comment if it works for you
Well… still time wasted if you’re doing outbreaks. Only about 4-5 of the outbreak appear at a time and about 20-25 appear total. So you have to catch a bunch of them still to check all your odds.
I love seeing them shiny in the overworld. I quickly lose interest if I have to mind numbingly check everything to be shiny. This brings much more excitement to the game
The shiny noise really helps too. I've been flying around with braviary in an area and I'll randomly hear it and fall out of the sky immediately like a sack of concrete cause I don't want to miss it
Decidueye looks really neat with all the turns and slashes and it can fly if you battle on water. Well it has wings. And Hisuian Lilligant is a graceful fighter/dancer in battle. Dancing queen!
so to summarize: the more complete the pokedex page is, the higher the odds of finding it's shinny, got it. I think this game also made shinny hunting easier even if you just normally play the game, I mean yeah the regular rate is 1:4096 pokemon BUT there's more pokemon on screen, there's also a sound alert when a shinny is on the field, this makes all the difference when previously you had to just hope for random encounters.
The whole basis of the game is to complete the first ever pokedex, and the fact that it's not just a CHARM at the end, but you actually get little boosts to shiny chances along the way is IMO fantastic.

I'm really glad that there's a reason to 100% each pokedex page! I was disappointed when I saw that the pokedex entry was complete after 10 points but shiny hunting is a great bonus for completion.
Agreed, I was thinking that I didn't really have to do anything else after getting the "complete" thing on a pokemones page. Now I know I actually should complete all of the dex and I might focus on doing the easier stuff before moving onto the next area now. I wish it wouldn't say that the dex entry for the Pokemon is complete if technically you have to actually complete the dex entry to get the shiny charm.

I have found out something pretty neat. You can force spawn mass outbreaks by entering and leaving the main continent of Hisui. You just keep entering and leaving until the NPC at the gate’s dialogue has changed, and then head for the outbreak. And since the outbreaks give you 25 re-rolls, that’s a consistent 1/158 chance before Dex completion. I have already found two shinies this way!
I just had my first outbreak and it was Eevee. I didn't expect a shiny in the bunch but went towards it seeing as I needed more Eevee. I was tired of force spawning two or three and I am still early in the game, just crossed the bridge in the obsidian feilds. I went towards the outbreak and found a greyish Eevee in the middle of five after I hid in the grass. I thought it was a weird lighting glitch since I had a few glitches so far and it didn't make a noise or sparkle. After I was surprised to see it was a shiny, I quickly threw a mushroom cake near it and as it started munching, I snuck closer. I accidentally scared it so I immediately dove away to have a better chance to have it stay. When it came closer again, I threw another mushroom cake and threw a Great ball at it after it started munching again. Shiny boy has a bold nature.
@@ron3940 really easy tip is to go back and forth from an area to jubilife village and just keep doing it till you get one. That's what I did. It happens more often than you'd think doing it that way instead of it happening randomly when you leave the map
I have a strategy for shiny hunting a specific species with outbreaks: 0. Make sure auto save is off 1. Go to a map with the outbreak you want and save in front of the professor 2. Go to the outbreak and encounter every Pokémon 3. If you encounter a shiny, congrats. End this cycle 4. If you didn’t encounter a shiny and the outbreak ends, turn the game off and reload 5. Talk to the professor and go back to Jubilife 6. Check if the outbreak is still there. If not, turn off your game and go back to step 5 7. If the outbreak is still the same species, go back to step 1 and rinse and repeat
Can you keep knocking out the Pokemon and wait until a Shiny spawns? I’ve saved in front of the outbreak itself and it disappears at dawn all the time, I’m at like my 5th reload now.
@@miruku6939 No, each day the spawns are preset. That’s why you have to go back to jubilife to reload the spawns. Conversely, if you fail a shiny, you can just reload that day and the shiny will still be there. Don’t save in the middle of an outbreak though, reloading that will make the outbreak end.

The drop in volume in your voice when your gyarados fell asleep was fricken sweet. Honestly I've done the same with my shiny salamence in sword/shield some of us get really attached to our mons.
I remember yesterday, I was strolling through the Icelands, and out of nowhere I found a shiny stantler and was able to catch it with a wing ball. I may not use them a lot but I will keep them near and dear to my heart since they were the first ever shiny I have been able to obtain through any odds and not surprise trades from sw/sh
I feel like this game spawns shinnies a lot more often than the older games did. I found a shiny Zubat on the day of release, and the very next day after that, I found a shiny Geodude. Not complaining, I don't use the Geodude, but I now have a shiny Crowbat that stays on my team, and she's super useful, but I feel like since I found 2 of them back to back that maybe they just aren't that special...

I love the Mr. Mime animations. I still think it's a huge missed opportunity that Mr. Mime isn't entirely silent in most Pokemon media though. It get that it speaking helps make it less creepy for kids, but I love the thought of a Mr. Mime appearing in the wild, going through it's barrier animations, and never making a sound.
Imagine it just opened an invisible box that it creates then when opened you can hear them talk giving the illusion thats is not just a mime but also a ventriloquist
Well... its sitting animation with invisible can and chair is a ref to the Detective Pikachu movie, where Mr. Mime is basically completely silent in addition of its creepy face
This just makes me realize how absolutely lucky I was. 3 hours into the game, not even passing the bridge yet, no outbreak, didn't even have any research for the pokemon, and I got a shiny drifloon. I wish I knew I could save though! I think I lost 10 years of my life scared out of my mind trying to catch it 😅

This is how shinys should be, slightly more easier to catch, I’ve been playing Pokémon for over 20 years and I’ve never randomly encountered a shiny a day in my life, in sun and moon I did my first shiny hunt for a couple but never just a random shiny and that’s crazy
I’ve only ever found 1 random shiny without the charm and without hunting, but technically it wasn’t even full odds. I played through OrAs and just grinded against Magikarp to get XP (because they’re literally just free XP, while giving speed EVs). Because I was fishing, I also fished up a shiny Magikarp, and was so excited because I thought it was full odds. Now, I know it wasn’t full odds and I’ve caught about 10 more the same way.
really? been playing them since the very first one and I got a shinny on silver, it was a stanler and I killed it... I don't count gyarados as it's a scrippted one, I got a shinny golbat on ruby, a shinny marowak on firered (still have them on sword and shield) I got a shinny trevant on Y I also encountered a shinny gibble but I killed it as well, to this day the one that has hurt me the most, and more recently I got a shinny graveler on SP.

Its pretty cool to see a Gyarados just randomly flying only to realise theres Magikarp around the attention to detail by GameFreak is awesome its like Breath of the Wyrdeer uh i mean Wild
What I like is that as you're trying to do the Pokédex pages you have a chance to see it as a shiney during the process. So if you get it to level 10, then aim to complete the Dex page, you'll see a TON of them while doing it, so there's a pretty good chance of seeing a shiney before you even finish.
the mass outbreaks are AMAZING - i found the yanma's section and had caught 3 normals, went away for a bit and then there was a yanma outbreak back a bit. When I went to the outbreak, out of the 5 that spawned THERE WERE 2 SHINIES ALREADY THERE!

I was just playing through the game when a shiny spawned directly next to an alpha pokemon that was 40 levels above me. When I went to battle/catch it, I got into a 5v1 battle - 1 of the 5 being the giant alpha! Luckily I did eventually catch it!!!!
Everytime it was still there, I threw my arms up and exclaimed "it's still there!" The work you put in for us Austin, you seriously deserve all the praise in the world
I got my first shiny today (a male combee but I'm not picky), I saved my game just like you advised and had to restart twice because it escaped, at the end I got it! Thank you very much!!
Since the shinies are locked into the instance, you can go anywhere in the area and as long as you don't leave to village it will stay there. Once you have fly, you can do a lap of the area to look for any shinies that may have populated in that instance and just hear/see it and fight.
This game looks genuinely amazing and innovative, but I fell like not including Mega’s was kinda a missed opportunity when their presence seemed to be so heavily tied to “ancient times,” and same for ash greninja, like what happened with that we still don’t know what the deal is with those, and the whole gimmick from the Pokémon anime when ash used ash greeninja he took damage too, I fell like that would’ve been perfect for this game not that the trainer takes damage, but I digress

So far I have only found a shiny Drifloon in the wild while trying to find a Dusclops for a mission. Hope to see more during my run. Found an outbreak of Ralts and snagged a shiny from that, so that makes two shinies now.

I finally got Shiny justice for my uncatchable sentret at the beginning of Silver and uncatchable poochyena from Emerald; the first Bidoof herd that Akari used to show you how to check dex mission requirements had a shiny. It was beautiful
Thanks! I got a shiny Zorua, Zoroark, and Chatot! As for spotting shinies, one time I was flying over that cave with the Machop in Obsidian Fieldlands and heard the shiny sound. I spent a good few minutes scouring the area looking for that shiny before remembering there was a cave there lol. I did wind up catching it thankfully.
I am really glad to know that the 3 caves alphas are shiny locked, because I've been majorly stressing about trying to grind out one of them as a shiny. Took forever to find this video again but I finally have confirmation now so thank you 😭
The only concern that I have with the Pokemon staying spawned after so long and such a far distance is that that presumably means that all the other spawns are locked to not shiny so the only was to reset the odds is to full leave the area and or save and quit.
@@SnooWords97 yeah, but if someone was to say ride horseback up and down the same area to get specific shinys, that would've been a huge waste of time if they despawn never or after 15 minutes
I appreciate the no spoilers, I barely began playing PLA, and I've been doing perfect Dex pages simply to raise my rank early (I'm still not done with the story line period nor gotten my gift mon lol), and by gosh that 1/1024 is powerful and I don't even got a shiny charm yet, I can't even begin to fathom what it'd be like with it.

something thats probably worth noting (if you end up making another shiny method video) is that you cannot hard save when you get a shiny in a spacetime distortion, because when you reset your game the distortion clears, clearing all spawns in the distortion, including a potential shiny. this just happened to me with a shiny lickilicky unfortunately when i was under the impression that the spacetime distortion (and the shiny) would be there after a reset

This might be the first Pokémon game I'll shiny the entire Dex (besides the locked ones obviously). Doesn't seem to be as tedious as previous games
So all but legenderys then also with a max odds of 1 in 128 shinys are easy to get in this game

This just makes me realize how absolutely lucky I was. 3 hours into the game, not even passing the bridge yet, no outbreak, didn't even have any research for the pokemon, and I got a shiny drifloon.
I wish I knew I could save though! I think I lost 10 years of my life scared out of my mind trying to catch it 😅

This is how shinys should be, slightly more easier to catch, I’ve been playing Pokémon for over 20 years and I’ve never randomly encountered a shiny a day in my life, in sun and moon I did my first shiny hunt for a couple but never just a random shiny and that’s crazy
I’ve gotten 3 random shinies and they were basically all in a year.
I’ve only ever found 1 random shiny without the charm and without hunting, but technically it wasn’t even full odds. I played through OrAs and just grinded against Magikarp to get XP (because they’re literally just free XP, while giving speed EVs). Because I was fishing, I also fished up a shiny Magikarp, and was so excited because I thought it was full odds. Now, I know it wasn’t full odds and I’ve caught about 10 more the same way.

really? been playing them since the very first one and I got a shinny on silver, it was a stanler and I killed it... I don't count gyarados as it's a scrippted one, I got a shinny golbat on ruby, a shinny marowak on firered (still have them on sword and shield) I got a shinny trevant on Y I also encountered a shinny gibble but I killed it as well, to this day the one that has hurt me the most, and more recently I got a shinny graveler on SP.
I’ve only found two. One bidoof (all praise the doof) in the new diamond and pearl games (I swear the rates went up) and the frog one in gen 5

Its pretty cool to see a Gyarados just randomly flying only to realise theres Magikarp around the attention to detail by GameFreak is awesome its like Breath of the Wyrdeer uh i mean Wild
What I like is that as you're trying to do the Pokédex pages you have a chance to see it as a shiney during the process. So if you get it to level 10, then aim to complete the Dex page, you'll see a TON of them while doing it, so there's a pretty good chance of seeing a shiney before you even finish.
the mass outbreaks are AMAZING - i found the yanma's section and had caught 3 normals, went away for a bit and then there was a yanma outbreak back a bit. When I went to the outbreak, out of the 5 that spawned THERE WERE 2 SHINIES ALREADY THERE!
Even with the enhanced odds, that's some insane luck!

I was just playing through the game when a shiny spawned directly next to an alpha pokemon that was 40 levels above me. When I went to battle/catch it, I got into a 5v1 battle - 1 of the 5 being the giant alpha! Luckily I did eventually catch it!!!!

Just caught a shiny zubat couple hours ago it was unexpected, never ran the zubat line before so he’s a nice addition to the team
my crobat was so OP and huge it was insane, definitely a good member to the team

I got my first shiny today (a male combee but I'm not picky), I saved my game just like you advised and had to restart twice because it escaped, at the end I got it! Thank you very much!!
Since the shinies are locked into the instance, you can go anywhere in the area and as long as you don't leave to village it will stay there. Once you have fly, you can do a lap of the area to look for any shinies that may have populated in that instance and just hear/see it and fight.
This game looks genuinely amazing and innovative, but I fell like not including Mega’s was kinda a missed opportunity when their presence seemed to be so heavily tied to “ancient times,” and same for ash greninja, like what happened with that we still don’t know what the deal is with those, and the whole gimmick from the Pokémon anime when ash used ash greeninja he took damage too, I fell like that would’ve been perfect for this game not that the trainer takes damage, but I digress
That would be more likely to happen in a Legends game of the Kalos region, not the Sinnoh region
This is actually a great idea and with all the lore within the Kalos region, Pokémon will hit the mark if Kalos gets an this kind of treatment

I finally got Shiny justice for my uncatchable sentret at the beginning of Silver and uncatchable poochyena from Emerald; the first Bidoof herd that Akari used to show you how to check dex mission requirements had a shiny. It was beautiful
Thanks! I got a shiny Zorua, Zoroark, and Chatot! As for spotting shinies, one time I was flying over that cave with the Machop in Obsidian Fieldlands and heard the shiny sound. I spent a good few minutes scouring the area looking for that shiny before remembering there was a cave there lol. I did wind up catching it thankfully.

Lake guardians “technically” aren’t shiny locked. You can’t catch them, but they can appear shiny when you do battles!

The only concern that I have with the Pokemon staying spawned after so long and such a far distance is that that presumably means that all the other spawns are locked to not shiny so the only was to reset the odds is to full leave the area and or save and quit.

Pokemon despawn and new Pokemon spawn constantly, so that Buneary that Austin was testing with could've despawned after awhile.
@@SnooWords97 yeah, but if someone was to say ride horseback up and down the same area to get specific shinys, that would've been a huge waste of time if they despawn never or after 15 minutes

something thats probably worth noting (if you end up making another shiny method video) is that you cannot hard save when you get a shiny in a spacetime distortion, because when you reset your game the distortion clears, clearing all spawns in the distortion, including a potential shiny. this just happened to me with a shiny lickilicky unfortunately when i was under the impression that the spacetime distortion (and the shiny) would be there after a reset
