Thanks Toast! A video guide is definitely incredibly helpful for this kind of thing, as there's only so much info one can convey through a written guide compared to actually seeing someone going through it themselves along with the helpful edit showing the permutation, but there are also quite a few different nuances that can't possibly fit into a 12 minute video. Overall though, absolutely phenomenal video!
I'll never forget to joy I felt when I saw the sparkles on my Shiny Alpha Infernape. It was the first time I ever intentionally shiny hunted a Pokemon, not to mention that it was extra special since Legends Arceus was the first time I ever got a Shiny Charm. Heck, the day I found it (November 1st 2023), was two weeks before Scarlet and Violet came out. Now I'm moving on to Celebi in Crystal!
@@flyingtypetrainer4072 Thanks! I've always wanted a Shiny Infernape, to the point I initially tried soft resetting in Pearl before I eventually played through the game. It was such a surreal feeling finally getting a shiny of my favorite Pokemon after so many years!
Also, from my knowledge, there is a Discord server that's able to tell you the seed for that outbreak by having a bot review the first 4 Pokemon in that outbreak where it gives you a seed, you pop it into a seed finder and it's able to provide you with the exact instructions for that specific Pokemon you wanted
NOTE: The multi-despawn method also fails on the Lickitung line, and frankly with any other mon that is neither skittish nor aggressive in any regard (if any others apply).
I remember when I tried following the alpha line in the Coronet Highlands. Second time I followed the trail I was greeted with a Shiny Alpha Probopass, still leaves a smile to this day.
I just love hunting these guys, no special methods but just doing the sparkling massive outbreaks. Even got 2 non alpha horde shiny alphas, one just about a month after the games release from just a normal outbreak.
I've been aware of this method for a while but never really understood how it worked because of the way other people explained it, but this explanation helped me get it! :D thank you!
I feel like this video was specifically made because of the absolute crisis I have had trying to get a shiny Alpha Togepi/Togetic for like half a year, which brought me to the comment section of the Weakest Ribbon Master video. I then proceeded to lose my mind because I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong after you replied. I see the problem- I wasn't fast travelling away from the outbreak fast enough. What I'm understanding from the explanation here is because timid Pokemon don't fight, I have to 'simulate' KOing them by running away when they have the ! over their head. So when I'm following the permutation method for timid Pokemon, the KOs need to be replaced with ! and fast travelling. Have I understood this right this time? Also it must be said- THANK YOU for this simple guide to permutations! The way you explained it makes it seem so much less complicated.

Outbreaks have always frustrated me, especially MMOs, I see now that it was just because I was working with surface level info this whole time. Seeing how in depth it can actually get gives me a bit of relief, knowing it was simply a lack of knowledge on my part on how to go about hunting in them.
Wow, I should really get back to shiny hunting on legends arceus after this, i havent touched the game in a while either. Last time I did I was about half way done with a box of shinies lol. The true final 100% of Legends Arceus is creating a quad living form dex. Every pokemon form, normal, shiny, alpha, and alpha shiny. Plus of course completing the eternal battle reverie, the path of solitude for every species, and max completion of every pokedex task. The quad living dex allows you to see every form that is possible for a pokemon though, as it shows slightly different data/counts alphas as a form that you can display. Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales shinies must be transferred in, and so must all the shiny legendaries and mythicals, aside from Enamorus, and none of those can display as alphas unfortunately.
Though, anyone who actually tries this, hunting every single shiny and alpha shiny is probably insane. I imagine at least 1000 hours of playtime are required for this sort of challenge, and you'll inevitably hate the game by the end of it.
