For the sin about the Asylum's sign having a sub-sign to warn of escaped patients, one should note that real jails and prisons have these signs on the nearby roads as well because; yeah, people escape every now and again. Having the sign doesn't actually indicate a high escape ratio, it indicates that the states learned their lesson from stories in previous generations of criminals escaping through various means and using the fake story of being a hitchhiker to enlist unwitting motorists into helping them get further away from the holding facility.
I distinctly remember seeing a few in New Vegas as well that had the vault boy on them. Blew my mind as a child as that was the first time I saw a sign like that
I was getting ready to make this comment because yeah these signs exist outside of every prison I've ever driven by. Guess they might as well not have those prisons though if they need a sign out front!
12:53 The chances are, knowing the inmates in Arkham, the staff wouldn't want their names being known by said inmates, deciding to let the inmates know what their job is.
Exactly, especially in one of the comics when one of the psychologists name was known by an inmate, the inmate had stalked her and knew everything about her then planned on killing her.
Also considering the Harley Quinn patient interview tapes, Joker knew her name from her tag and used that to manipulate her, they most likely didn’t want that to happen again so they changed all name tags to just say their profession.
Also there are no name tags on the doctors uniforms because if the patients knew their names it would put them in more danger than just working in the asylum and would give the patients a name to hunt down.
But it's pointless cuz they say their names in tbe begining of the audio tapes when they have session with the patients , that's how Zsasz knew about Dr.Cassidy which he then went to her appartment and kidnapped her and tried to kill her before Batman stopped him and saved her.
@@ceoofbased6850 maybe it was that incident that made them stop using their names? Who knows, def sounds like one of those "learn from your mistakes" things
Exactly. In real life, some prisons have their guards wear masks when working near inmates like drug lords and terrorists, with the reach to have someone on the outside targeted. In a universe with supervillains, you bet your ass they'd keep the staff anonymous.
On top of the part about the "Hitchhiker's may be escaping patients part" that's actually true, prisons and mental institutions literally have those signs, doesn't mean they have bad security, just chances of that happening
If Cinemasins owned a prison, they would have this hubris that they think they have created the most secure prison in history and think that escaping it would be impossible. Only for them to get suprised when that statement gets proven wrong. And then they realise that their mistake is a cliche trope that happened in cartoons and give themselves a sin.
Not even the best asylum in the world would admit to be infallible, similar to the best basketball star, or the best writer or chef The first step in being the best of something is admitting you could improve
1:05:29. Finally someone said it. I'm tired of everyone bashing on the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne. If anyone lost their parents like that in front of their eyes, of course they wouldn't just get over it. I'm sick of that critique of the character. Batman's whole mission is to make sure it doesn't happen
I’ve watched his Cinema Sins Videos and after he Bashed 2015 Cinderella I’ve since stopped watching his stuff but I’ve never heard him sound so Cold and Cruel
It's like the Uncle Ben critique with Spider-Man. Some people (particularly the "nobody wants to see Uncle Ben die again" people) act like we're reminded of him every time Spider-Man gets a movie. But at most, we've only seen him twice on screen (the Tobey Maguire Uncle Ben, and Andrew Garfield Uncle Ben.) And I think he was name dropped In the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies.
50:00 I always rationalized this as Batman talking to himself in his head, like his conscious. It'd be pretty stupid to vocalize all these things in a situation like that where anyone could be listening. It also makes sense in why he points out obvious things. They're not general statements, they're footnotes he's giving himself.
They actually do this in Arkham Knight. If you pay attention to him when hes narrating(for example panessa studios with the bat mobile) his mouth won’t be moving
Batman: Hmm i can hop on the gargoyles and take the thugs out without them seeing me Thug: hey did anyone hear something? Lets check the gargoyles. Gasp its da freakin bat!
Absolutely right. I don't know how anyone would think otherwise. He's a detective doing detective work. Of course he's going to be monologuing in his head.
That actually happens every time in the Arkham games, when he's monologuing like that and see his face he's not moving his mouth (also happens with other characters in the other games), but obviously when he's talking to someone else he is moving it (and it has surprising lip sync considering a good chunk of players don't even look at Batman's face during those conversations)
EXACTLY! It's one thing if you don't like Bruce's backstory, but it feels like in this moment he forgot that death, losing loved ones, and trauma are things that actually happen in real life and aren't made-up cliches for fictional stories.
12:58 considering the dangerous psychopaths housed at Arkham, and the high escape rate, it's possible the generic name tags are to reduce the risk of escapees tracking down Arkham staff members.
43:12 you are correct on both things. Flash bangs (concussion grenade is the same thing essentially) we’re made in the 60’s by British Forces, and also Batman’s explosive gel does exist. It’s called water gel explosives. Only irl they are far more deadly but it’s not far fetched to believe Batman chemically engineered it to be less lethal.
Ik it's a yr old comment but yeah judging by his mass amount of money, willingness to not kill and intelligence yeah it's make sense he could easily do that
I'm late but I gotta disagree. They're real things yeah but they're still explosives. If you blow one of them up in your hand or worse, in your face, it's gonna do a lot of damage. Disfiguring to lethal damage. Joker at minimum should have received severe damage from that, Titan or not. And Batman should be one hand down at minimum too. Look it up if you're skeptical, you're right to be. they're only non lethal at range; point blank and they're as deadly as any explosive
Yes, it is a unique aspect of Arkham Asylum, that is never replicated, save for some brief isolated sections. It plays up the gothic nature of the Batman mythos, and traps you in complete chaos with mentally unstable criminals. That is a horrifying scenario. The game often conveys a tone and atmosphere of subtle horror (which becomes more explicit in the Scarecrow sections, and the Killer Croc segment).
Killer Croc is one of the only times I've ever had a nightmare as an adult. This game does such a good job at being a horror game when it wants to, both for you and for the enemies.
About the fact that the doctor's tag only says "doctor": beside being an easy way to reuse an asset for multiple characters, it is in canon a great way for the inmates to not know your name. In real life, it is advised to not put your full name on your "name tag" if you work in the medical field, so the patients won't be able to find you on social media, etc. Here, in Arkham, it would also allowed the doctors to reveal their name and exact profession only when they want to and to who they need to. Not every inmate has to know their last name, only the ones they are working with.
There was a neat comic where Deathstroke spent time in Arkham. When he asks if he can leave, his therapist says “You’re Deathstroke, colonel. I presume you can leave whenever you want. That’s the magic of this place-the hubris of believing we can actually stop supervillains from escaping.” Anyway “Hitchhikers may be escaping inmates” signs are real things that exist *edit* disappointed I didn’t see how many people made the same comment. mb
I love that. Especially with the choice of Deathstroke in particular. Not only someone who, by most interpretations, is at most a sociopath, something that can't really be treated, leaving him no solid reason to be committed, but also someone with the strength and skill to take on nearly anyone in a fight. If he really wanted to, he could probably just walk out the front door with relative ease.
@@alucardo2961 Some years back, I couldn't find what exactly happened, there's an archive channel though. ua-cam.com/channels/uiWQ0pxMNOJXnbYeUW-4SA.html
Detective mode is explained in Arkham Knight. It uses a mix of sonar, and a sort of Bluetooth system which detects electronics. Along with Batman having thermal imaging lenses which I assume are contact lenses much like in the new Batman movie. Through that sonar it can also detect heartbeats. I’m sure the devs didn’t care about the science, but I assume they can tell through the sonar interference of hitting someone’s body and having the sound waves be partially dampened. If you don’t know, opposite directional sound waves will cancel each other’s sound. Being hooked up to the bat computer he can get his enemies stress levels and life signs with the sonar as well
For the sin of her working with Joker to make the research. She didn't know she was working with Joker. The payments and deal came from one of his aliases, Jack White. Something that is mentioned in their videos. Also one of the audio tapes shows Joker revealing the truth to Doctor Young and she immediatly tries to stop the research upon realising she is helping Joker.
@@KaijuGal-rb9ek Yeah, and she isn't exactly a good person now is she? Like she's the one who was totally willing to continue experimenting with titan, and also completely draining bane of most of his blood. She only stopped after finding out Joker was funding her. She would have kept going had he not been involved.
The sin about Batman not bringing more gadgets is a not uncommon one that completely misses how necessary it is from a reality standpoint. Batman can't carry everything he owns. He has a base loadout because carrying too much risks weighing him down too much. He could have heavier armor plating, but it would reduce his agility and speed. Batman has to be achieve a balance between being prepared for anything and actually having only what he needs. Which is why he has an arsenal in the Batmobile and satellite Batcaves. No matter where he goes in Gotham, he can still have close access to an armory that will have what he can't carry at all times. It'd be really convenient to have a tool chest and array of basic automotive supplies in your car at all times, but most people don't so that they can have space to carry groceries or whatever. Same principle.
To add to your point about batman not being able to carry all his gadgets, alfred asks batman in Arkham city if he considered using a bigger belt. Batman says he used one once but it slowed him down due to its weight
11:38 it's also worth noting that Tunnel Vision is a thing, people get focused in one direction, so even if something should appear in their peripheral vision, it doesn't register (I for one would always get so focused on reading and listning to tunes between classes at college that my lecturers could get right in front of me before I even noticed, which is why I sat outside the room the next class would be)
That “hitch hikers may be escaping patients” is a real sign. It’s not really because they will get away and space but It’s more so for the safety of the person picking them up. Most physicopaths or lunatics act being a normal charming person and anyone picking them up are just having their guard down letting a deranged killer in their car
And my god i've never heard you rage this hard, i love it. Also Rest in Peace to your grandpa, I understand what you and your family are going through since my mom died when i was about 11. So sorry to hear about that
@@shamblezer1089 My condolences. I lost my dad a little over a year ago to cancer that came out of nowhere. It's still hard to this day. I definitely understand what he and you are going through.
One thing to point out, not all staff that work in prisons/mental institutions are trained to defend themselves. As someone who's worked in corrections and in a hospital setting, I can attest to this. Medical staff *might* have incredibly basic training to defend *themselves*, but likely no training to defend others. There is a difference. Also, medical staff is usually prevented, by policy, to intervene in a physically violent situation and would leave that sort of thing to security staff. Yes, I know that this situation is something out of the norm, but the orderly that saved the guard probably would have had no idea how to fight Joker, and/or would have been too scared
I felt as superior as the Riddler does when you made the point about the Riddles being hard. I found them without lookin the answers up, and I agree. There’s a riddle in the Caves that took me an hour to find
It’s been a long time, but I do distinctly remember having to look up the riddle in this game where you have to scan Wayne Tower because I only thought they would be things you could see up close. The same thing happened in Arkham City where you have to scan the asylum, but that’s even more obtuse because you can never get a hint on the map for it. At least by Knight I was wary enough of this type of riddle that I immediately scanned the notable areas outside the map when I saw them.
So I remember when I was a kid and got to the 3rd scarecrow segment. That “crash” might as well have given me a heart attack. I had just replaced my 360 as my first one got the red ring of death. So the fear that this new Xbox was dying too scared me
I like to think that the reason that joker reacted to croc's entrance early is because he smelt sewage and guess it was croc because right before croc, he was talking about smelling excitement
I think it is fair to say it would be hard for Bruce to secretly build a Batcave on Arkham Island since he owns Wayne Manor and the Studios while he would have to hide all of the construction and moving stuff like the computer would be hard but not impossible for Batman to smuggle stuff into the cave. Also Stagg was the one who made the fear gas be able to pass through gas masks which was told in the research note.
9:52 Batman’s Detective Mode is kind of a mix of a lot of things. X-Ray, Heat Specs, Night Vision, Thermal, and like you said, somewhat sonar based. It’s a little mix of all of these. But the thing it is most is definitely something that would be amazing for the military.
I lost my grandfather to natural causes 8 years ago, it still hits hard, we're still in pain and missing a huge part of our life. I know your pain man, him making that point pissed me off too, Dartigan is an idiot, most of them are honestly.
He wasn't making that point because Batman should just forget about his parents, it's because we've seen it thousands of times. It's like how people don't wanna see Uncle Ben's death again. And no, they aren't idiots for poking fun at a game they like.
So I'm currently getting a B.A. in History, and one thing we spend a lot of time with last semester was being able to understand which texts were written independently, and which use another text as inspiration or outright plagiarize those, and I think it's funny that here you can see this, in how some of the exact same "sins" repeat, like the Harley concussion sin, and the Joker Party thugs all having "the same voice actor" where you can clearly see that one is based on and heavily draws upon the other. And they call Arkham Asylum unoriginal for taking inspiration from other works? EDIT: oh and how could I forget the sexist Harley Lapdance Sin, and the Dark Knight Reference Sin also repeating..
They think that they're being clever and funny by listing these things, but all they're doing is repeating the same things the others said with slight differences. It's like a chain of parrots repeating each other, but they all have minor hearing problems,so they hear it a little bit different each time.
One thing i love about Arkham is when the Goons talk about Harley or interact with her. Some of them try to hit on her while the others are more terrified of her than they are of Joker. It always felt like A call out of people obsessed with Harley and make shitty critiques like "hur hur lap dance funny."
Also with the batcave thing. He literally has to jump off of a cliff to reach it. The only other way is a vent in the sewers that would be incredibly hard to find in the first place. Also no one knew about it, even Oracle didn't
you’d think Harley would know how to get into the control room, considering she used to work at the asylum. She’d probably have codes to the security system.
I love videos of people refuting the “game sin” list type videos. It makes me realize all the more why i personally hate them after what GCN did to my Nier Automata
14:55 There I can really agree with you because I thought the third bodybag would be a dead Bruce joining his parents in their fate so the jumpscare with Scarecrow was so well done.
the funny thing about the all the dudes simping over Harley is that Harley was mocaped( short for motion captured) by a dude( Art Lenavat). Same with Catwoman in city.
This is my favorite game of all time. I’ve been playing this game with my nana since it came out, and I’ve been helplessly addicted ever since. I cannot thank you enough for consistently itching this corner of my brain.
Let’s go! I love this little series you have here. Watched these Asylum videos specifically first growing up so I am happy you get to tear them to shreds. Nice birthday present if I do say so myself.
11:09 alright, saying the chime in Arkham asylum is annoying is a CRIME that sound has to be the most nostalgic thing in my life from one of the first games I’ve played.
Perhaps Joker survived the shot to his jaw due to the happenstance that partly creates that smile. According to “The Three Jokers” storyline, one of the Jokers states that it, “Hurts to laugh.” This is revealed to be due to the vat of acid that bleached his skin. While examining several victims killed by the acid, it’s revealed that their jaws had partly melted. This seems to be true for at least one of the Jokers. So, in the game, due to the jaw melting, it could have concentrated more material to the bottom of the jaw due to gravity, allowing for an odd shape, and stronger structure, to save him from dying.
11:18 on top of that. It's a stealth game. The enemy AI has to be less aware of its surroundings than a regular enemy AI in order to make the game fun. Arkham actually has some of the best stealth game AI in gaming 35:55 it's actually year 11 and Batman has at least three other caves in the city alone, why not one on Arkham. Especially considering the fact that the Arkham Island cave is small and only has the basics 52:15 The police cars seen in this shot are most likely Ford Crown Victoria P71s which are a modified version of the Ford Crown Victoria sedan to serve as a police interceptor. It has a top speed of 177 kmh. The Batmobile in Arkham Knight has a top speed of 322 kmh and that's without the use of a literal jet engine. Considering that the Arkham Knight Batmobile is much heavier than the Arkham Asylum version, this version might be faster. Those cops couldn't follow batman even if they tried
I remember when I was 10 and I was able to get every secret in the game, though it was with the help from my father, man I miss the game. I loved the game and its character designs
To be fair, I believe it’s implied that the formulation in Knight was specifically made to bypass gas masks, and his older versions could be blocked by it
I love this video. I'm wary of Cinema Sins inspired videos due to nitpicks, and I have to say the first one was downright insulting. Lord knows, I find Sonic 1 annoying due to a lack of spin dash, but I'm not claiming Sonic 1 is bad because of it. I especially love how you defend most of the criticisms with the internal logic - hell, the one about trauma spoke to me as I lost my sister last year, and we aren't over it. And it's a good thing Charriii was the best of these 4, as I follow his content from time to time.
10:12 also the Detective Mode isn't a rip off, it was somewhat reused from Rocksteady's Urban Chaos that was released 2 years prior to Asylum where you use thermal imaging. Many other aspects of Urban Chaos was reused in Asylum like the sound effect of inmates being electrocuted came from a stun gun in Urban Chaos
I'm glad you are defending these games. I've been playing arkham games since about 4 years old on the playstation 3 and I've been a huge fan of every game I'm happy to see someone shares this fondness and respect for the arkham games

@@STEELGMBL Look, I love the Arkham Games, but I wouldn't say they qualify for THE best games of all time. They are definitely up there and Rocksteady have made some of the best superhero games ever, but saying they are THE best games of all time is definitely a stretch.
Hey for the Scarecrow in Asylum I'm pretty sure that for the fear gas you could probably use a mask but in Knight his fear toxin has been upgraded Dialog from Knight: *Mentions the things that happen that night* "perhaps we should've left with the others" "Nah, I got a gas mask" "I've heard that the gas will go through masks" So for that it's more likely that Batman didn't expect to encounter Scarcrow seeing as though he was just fighting Joker then immediately went into the Asylum so Batman probably just prepared for fighting Joker so didn't think about a gas mask for Scarecrow (I could also be wrong but I don't think I saw anywhere in Asylum that said a gas mask was ineffective only in Knight)
Edit: I forgot to mention. I absolutely love this video. And your “what is actually wrong with” videos. Awesome work dude. Keep it up! Firstly, the sin that Joker is leading Bruce everywhere. Playing a game of cat and mouse instead of trying to stop Bruce. I absolutely love what you countered with. But I’d also like to mention that it is literally Joker’s MO. He leads everyone on cat and mouse games. Trails, clues, demonstrations…it’s all fun and games to him. He is known for incredibly elaborate, creative, and genius schemes that, on some occasions, turn out to be overthought. And until he finds a way to best Batman, he will lose in the very end. Because Batman is the sole being he has yet to best. If he can best Batman then he can best anyone. Secondly, It is sinned multiple times in these EWW videos about Joker not killing Batman. Which is stupid. Joker has not once wanted to legitimately end Bruce’s life. I don’t think Joker wants to end people’s lives just to end them. Or to end them at all. I mean, Joker loves to toy with and torture and terrify his victims. Usually he ends up killing them to mess with Batman and because they are lose ends. Without Batman, Joker has no archenemy. Without Batman there is no one who could stand in his way. Joker likes the challenge. Joker likes the extra effort he has to put in his schemes because he is very intelligent and creative. Batman’s existence allows him to follow through with elaborate schemes. And Joker would never kill the Batman seeing as how Joker has yet to truly best Batman. Sure, he’s beaten Batman. But never, never has Batman ever failed to stop Joker in the end.
I just realized the whole reason Batman was able to resist the Titan formula was due to him resisting Scarecrow’s fear toxin. That slowly built up his willpower against different drugs in his system, along with his body also building a resistance.
Not necessarily. Batman trained his mind and body to the mental and physical peak so far as to be even labeled superhuman long before he discovered and was exposed to the Titan formula and Scarecrow’s fear toxin. Even when he encountered Crane for the first time in his career he most likely overcame and studied it to resist it. I’m not saying your an idiot but you need to know that overcoming Scarecrows toxin doesn’t mean he can resist the change he has dealt with poisons before example: Copperheads poison in AO
@@nicktroisi6347which is unrealistic and impossible in the real world, but that's superheroes for ya realism exists as much as Batman's parents surviving their deaths.
with the sin about free flow around 17:30, i actually agree. yes the combat was revolutionary at the time, but the amount of times batman would just...stop...for no reason was so abundant to the point i refused to touch the combat arenas cause of how annoying the breaks in the combos were getting
Well I don’t agree. Is it better than later games? HELL NO! But is it still fun? Yes. It’s a lot of fun and you need to seriously get better at it before you complain.
The problem with the Pizzeria Simulator approach would be containing the inmates without the staff, especially when those like Bane or Croc are strong enough to get through the walls, croc himself being able to go underwater or those like Clayface and Freeze being able to shrug off the fire. That and it would be considered immoral as (most) of the inmates need legitimate help
@@michaeliv284 Right. A lot of the inmates are literally just regular criminals with something wrong mentally. And even then, a lot of the point of Batman stories is humanizing villains to remind us that we can all become that; so a lot of the worst bunch still have something understandable about them
I love how he complains about the "Hitchhikers maybe escaping inmates" sign completely ignoring the fact that there are signs on roads like that around prisons all over the world. He could make the point that putting such a sign right at the entrance of the prison is redundant, but sinning the fact that it is there and claiming "Well, I guess security is just bad." is such a dumb remark. Some of the most secure Super Max Prisons in the U.S. (which are basically inescapable) still have these signs to warn passing drivers that they shouldn't pick up any hitchhikers for even the slight chance that someone may possibly escape.
I’ll give you that going back to Asylum from the later games makes you notice how much they refined the combat, but this was the first time any game had this style fighting, of COURSE it’s not gonna feel as good (although they did a GREAT job for the first attempt)
For Dartigan's "scanner" sin when he brings up how Batman is underequipped for the game: how was Batman supposed to know the events of the game would happen? As far as he knew, this was just going to be another night of dropping off Joker. Batman may be a master planner, but he's not psychic. Also, Dartigan's "I don't feel for Batman still crying over his parents" makes me angry. I lost 4 of my 5 grandparents (one remarried) and I was heartbroken at all of them.
Regarding the explosive gel sins, the gel is used for demolitions and as such contains zero shrapnel. Sure it can hurt or maim someone, like how Batman’s glove was damaged when applied DIRECTLY onto it, but standing nearby when it is detonated would only disorient or incapacitate someone because it creates a shockwave of force upon exploding.
I watched all of Dartigans videos on the Arkham Series and talked about how wrong he was to my friends. You sir deserve around applause making this video 👏👏👏👏
This the biggest roasts I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂😂 Also your a legend for defending the Arkham Series from people who clearly do no research and come up with the most stupid accusations on one of the greatest videogame series of all time. Also sorry about your grandpa, I understand what it’s like losing a relative. I lost my grandma a few months ago.
OK I’m normally a very easy-going guy but that was pretty messed up when that guy made fun of people who suffer after traumatic events like losing a loved one. That was not cool of him to say the least.
Because they got it from Cinema-Sins who in their video whenever a woman is on screen they say "This scene did not contain a lap dance". Incredibly sexist.
1:05:21 Wow i cannot believe he just said that. My father died when i was 9 years old and i went into deep depression ages 12-15. I am very lucky to get out of that depression and enjoying life again, but that does not mean I don’t get sad or miss my father very much which has been gone now for the past 7 years.😐😐
GCN's point about peripheral vision made me lol because, one will be suprised about the amount of things they can see in peripheral vision and the things that they also can't. Like, when you're aiming your gun, you're blind at the sides.
Another thing about sin 3 is the fact that even simple prisons have these signs. Mind you, they tend to be road signs and not on the actual sign itself, since obviously you shouldn’t pick up a hitchhiker right outside of a prison, but also escapees are more likely to have run off and are rarely dumb enough to linger just outside of the prison (where there are sure to be guards coming in for their shift or patrolling the exterior for breaches and the like). I see that sign as just the developer’s way of adding some attention to detail for the sake of making it much less plain of a sign, while keeping it within the realm of realism. Another argument you could have made is that even Alcatraz failed to keep inmates in, despite being on a rough island far from the coast, with rough and likely predator inhabited waters.
I’ve been CRAZY busy with work lately and needed something to keep me chill while I drive around, so I’ve been listening to your videos. You’ve brought a lot of giggles to long, solo travel and reminded me how happy these games make me. They’ve always been my favorites and I just redownloaded them so I can play over the weekend. Thank you♥️
Man, you definitely deserve more views. I truly believe you're the 2nd best Arkham channel I've ever watched, only after Batman Arkham Videos and his perfect gameplays.
28:10 "Can you SMELL the excitement in the air? Must have been one of the guards, then." A fart joke that alludes to Croc's body odor. Obviously, Joker has been near to him before and recognizes his smell. Or we can assume Croc living in the sewers would make him stink like... well, sewers. Either way, they are waiting for another patient (the announcer warns about a category 9, and shoot-to-kill permissions are granted), so Joker smells Croc and throws the joke to insult him, thus making an introduction to the character for the players. Imagine this game in 4D.
I think it's cool you want to go into game development!!! Good luck, man!!! You picked a really good game franchise to adore. If you ever wanted to make games with inspired elements from the style the Arkham games use, I'd recommend trying to focus on specifically the level design and worldbuilding, which I personally feel like the Arkham games do better than almost all other games out there. The way that the Villains modify the dungeon levels to create puzzles naturally are just amazing. The worldbuilding is all over the place but still subtle. Anyways, wishing you luck!!
God cinemasins has ruined critiquing things... Mostly it's people just not using any media literacy or critical thinking skills, or even paying attention to what the game literally tells them. Just pointing out things that aren't actually game or story flaws or making their lame ass jokes sins cause they want a high count number. Thank you for correcting these fools.
Now I'm curious of what ClownPuncher thinks of Micah Edmonds' critique of Asylum which criticizes the game heavily not only on a world building level but on a moral level as well (basically claiming that how the game tackles mental health is "outdated" and "problematic" in which i'm personally not convinced). Not that I'm expecting a response video of course.
1:00:51 Scarecrow’s toxin in Knight, was an upgraded version, to the point where gas masks were useless, his regular toxin can be blocked by a gas mask unless the person was already infected.
59:24 Let’s also play a scenario where he did knock Joker off when he threw a batarang when he was relying on instinct the first time. When Batman tries to save the Joker when he falls down, Joker himself would attack Batman during this time which would end in either both of them dying, or just Joker dying. But when Joker dies, Batman broke his rule.
@@legoverse1412 True, but we don’t know how deep the fall is, and while I do believe this is possible, Joker is not going to make it easy as he knows who Batman is. Like I don’t think the Joker is going to make Batman use the Batclaw at all to escape when this is probably his only chance at doing something crazy. Although to be fair, if Joker wants to play with Batman for a bit considering how the rest of the game plays out, meaning the Joker wants all of it to happen…then there’s a good chance that he would probably let Batman use the Batclaw, but I don’t see any other practical reason for what’s going on here.
Gotta love how they’re insulting a game like Asylum even though it was on a very tight production schedule yet still was pretty fun and barely repetitive
36:29 not only would the monarch theater be crowded, I'm pretty sure the people in said theater would want to talk or take pictures or at least autographs with the richest people in Gotham
Also another thing about the hitchhiker sign sin, I've seen those signs near a prison i used to live by, they just put them up in those areas so you dont pick up some dangerous convict while trying to help someone
I can see why several comments pointed me towards this video. Well done, good sir! I've only tackled Dartigan's terrible Arkham Asylum video, but I'm planning on revisiting it to remake it of better quality and eventually will take a look at other games in the series. I salute you on your takes 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Exactly, especially in one of the comics when one of the psychologists name was known by an inmate, the inmate had stalked her and knew everything about her then planned on killing her.
@@unstable2980 also zasz hunts down one of the psychologists, this is in the recordings
Good point.
Also considering the Harley Quinn patient interview tapes, Joker knew her name from her tag and used that to manipulate her, they most likely didn’t want that to happen again so they changed all name tags to just say their profession.
considering the Zasz tapes, i imagine they tried their best to maintain a lot more privacy for their staff after that incident.
Also there are no name tags on the doctors uniforms because if the patients knew their names it would put them in more danger than just working in the asylum and would give the patients a name to hunt down.
damn you have a point lmao the most insane dangerous criminals ever could find you
But it's pointless cuz they say their names in tbe begining of the audio tapes when they have session with the patients , that's how Zsasz knew about Dr.Cassidy which he then went to her appartment and kidnapped her and tried to kill her before Batman stopped him and saved her.

On top of the part about the "Hitchhiker's may be escaping patients part" that's actually true, prisons and mental institutions literally have those signs, doesn't mean they have bad security, just chances of that happening

It also makes sense in why he points out obvious things. They're not general statements, they're footnotes he's giving himself.
They actually do this in Arkham Knight. If you pay attention to him when hes narrating(for example panessa studios with the bat mobile) his mouth won’t be moving

“Is this a Batman game or a horror game?” “YES”
Bro I couldn’t agree more
Yes, it is a unique aspect of Arkham Asylum, that is never replicated, save for some brief isolated sections.
Honestly, it's not exactly hard to imagine a horror/reverse horror game about Batman
Killer Croc is one of the only times I've ever had a nightmare as an adult. This game does such a good job at being a horror game when it wants to, both for you and for the enemies.
@@michaeliv284 A game about being a criminal escaping batman would be sick

About the fact that the doctor's tag only says "doctor": beside being an easy way to reuse an asset for multiple characters, it is in canon a great way for the inmates to not know your name. In real life, it is advised to not put your full name on your "name tag" if you work in the medical field, so the patients won't be able to find you on social media, etc. Here, in Arkham, it would also allowed the doctors to reveal their name and exact profession only when they want to and to who they need to. Not every inmate has to know their last name, only the ones they are working with.

Arkham actually has some of the best stealth game AI in gaming
35:55 it's actually year 11 and Batman has at least three other caves in the city alone, why not one on Arkham. Especially considering the fact that the Arkham Island cave is small and only has the basics

It has a top speed of 177 kmh. The Batmobile in Arkham Knight has a top speed of 322 kmh and that's without the use of a literal jet engine. Hey for the Scarecrow in Asylum I'm pretty sure that for the fear gas you could probably use a mask but in Knight his fear toxin has been upgraded
Dialog from Knight: *Mentions the things that happen that night* "perhaps we should've left with the others"
"Nah, I got a gas mask"
"I've heard that the gas will go through masks"
So for that it's more likely that Batman didn't expect to encounter Scarcrow seeing as though he was just fighting Joker then immediately went into the Asylum so Batman probably just prepared for fighting Joker so didn't think about a gas mask for Scarecrow
(I could also be wrong but I don't think I saw anywhere in Asylum that said a gas mask was ineffective only in Knight)
You are right about that in Stagg's research notes we hear him say something along the lines of we made the gas able to go through gas masks.
He sinned the Arkham Asylum chime???? Dud thats my notification sound
SAAAME
with the sin about free flow around 17:30, i actually agree. yes the combat was revolutionary at the time, but the amount of times batman would just...stop...for no reason was so abundant to the point i refused to touch the combat arenas cause of how annoying the breaks in the combos were getting
Skill issue
@@scarletwolf493r/beatmetoit
Well I don’t agree. Is it better than later games? HELL NO! But is it still fun? Yes. It’s a lot of fun and you need to seriously get better at it before you complain.
Honestly, letting the entire Asylum burn with all of Joker's men inside and killing all the rogues would be the best ending for Gotham citizens
Nah dissing that asylum chime is worth more than 20 sins
This the biggest roasts I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂😂
Also your a legend for defending the Arkham Series from people who clearly do no research and come up with the most stupid accusations on one of the greatest videogame series of all time.
Fr it was so messed up
I quite like charii5 personally, but thank you for telling us the mistakes in all of these everything wrong with videos.
my personal favorite out of the cinema sins copy's hes actually funny and his voice doesn't sound like nails on a chalk board.
Which one gaming sins or gcn
Agreed
My question is why are they so interested in Harley Quinn doing a lap dance?
Because they are incel virgins that have never spoken to a woman in their whole lives before judging by how they sound and how they speak.
Because they got it from Cinema-Sins who in their video whenever a woman is on screen they say "This scene did not contain a lap dance". Incredibly sexist.
@@thephoenixxm4160 had a feeling that was the case, but it’s like damn

Wow i cannot believe he just said that. My father died when i was 9 years old and i went into deep depression ages 12-15. I am very lucky to get out of that depression and enjoying life again, but that does not mean I don’t get sad or miss my father very much which has been gone now for the past 7 years.😐😐
"Woah is this a horror game or a Batman game" Clownpuncher: "Yes"
GCN's point about peripheral vision made me lol because, one will be suprised about the amount of things they can see in peripheral vision and the things that they also can't.
Like, when you're aiming your gun, you're blind at the sides.
We're all like Joker's thugs when you trash these videos "Yeah, yeah! Go! Do it, do it!"
FRRR
Thank you♥️
"NO BANE! THIS TIME I BREAK YOU!" has gotta be one of the best batman quotes ever
The "caveman talk for stupid" line got me rolling
Man, you definitely deserve more views. I truly believe you're the 2nd best Arkham channel I've ever watched, only after Batman Arkham Videos and his perfect gameplays.
28:10 "Can you SMELL the excitement in the air? Must have been one of the guards, then."
A fart joke that alludes to Croc's body odor.
When you called him out one the cinema sins wannabe comment over Harley I subscribed cuz that shit was so scathingly funny 😂
Bruce resisting the Changes makes sense.
He trained hard in Mind and Body.
Dude I love your videos, you're mega underrated and I genuinely mean that. Keep it up!
I love all Arkham games!
The only drawback of Asylum is that there is no smoke pellet, but it is an old game, so....
I love it!
Hey man, I think you're underestimating how serious a major concussion can be...
Well he has a point cuz this is all based on batman not wanting to kill which is super new
@@miminoran8948 super new?! He had that moral since the freakin 90’s cartoon show. Hell, he had that since the silver age. What are you talking about?
The way that Arkham Asylum in world treats mental health is actually very outdated
@@lilypaigeham how
The name "Micah" already depicts his character
Gotta say these videos are really fun and, your points are actually valid. Fantastic vid Mr puncher
@Christian Stewart fr lmao
Sining the Arkham Bell chime is worth 1 million sins
1:00:51 Scarecrow’s toxin in Knight, was an upgraded version, to the point where gas masks were useless, his regular toxin can be blocked by a gas mask unless the person was already infected.
59:24 Let’s also play a scenario where he did knock Joker off when he threw a batarang when he was relying on instinct the first time. When Batman tries to save the Joker when he falls down, Joker himself would attack Batman during this time which would end in either both of them dying, or just Joker dying. But when Joker dies, Batman broke his rule.
I guess he could use the Batclaw, or it would play out how it did in Origins
Can you even imagine Arkham Asylum game that please this "sinners"? How it would look like?
