Your playstyle and analysis is what sold me. Thanks for the introduction to a great game!
What mods were ya using?
No shi
This Game has really grown on me. Its the best tactical experience yet for me since "the old" Rainbox Six Games. Its so good and its not even out of early access yet. The only thing thats missing for me is a little bit more story flesh on the main campaign missions to make the experience more coherent and make me care about the characters.
Man, I miss the old Rainbow 6 games...
@@sbranch82au Mod Rainbow Team 2 into the game lol
There's a Rainbow unit mod on the Nexus, using the pre-Vegas iteration with named characters from the old games.
I'll take it!!
The campaign stuff is coming, but I don't know that there's going to be much of a story. I think they care more about gameplay, thankfully.
Doorkickers 2 is so clean. It gamifies a lot that can be kind of jank in 3D, FPS experiences. I love it.
The hostage sitting there like “👁️👄👁️”
tough game. I did notice that in the bottom right of the map you did have the whole team stacked behind a propane tank which was less than ideal. Cool game and I love the in-depth commentary.
hahahahahaha
There's a window in the building because that's meant to represent where a QuarterMaster hands out equipment from, that's why there's a bunch of supplies anda chair in there
32:35 Not a CQB nerd in the slightest but since you gave an invitation to backseat: The most intuitive process for dealing with that room to me seemed like stacking two guys flush with that right wall and "keeping containment" on that top room from the south wall of the room, so that the known threat has less angle on all your guys clumped up in maximum view of both north thresholds. Since you know exactly where in the room that guy is from his shooting, the right wall is best cover from him I think. The only real concern then is keeping an angle on that tight unknown left, which was already scuffed with how you handled it.
Edit: Typos
Are 'CQB nerds' a thing?
crazy i thought the same exact thing
@@MacKaris yes, this game was made for them!
I think his best course of action would have been to split two 3 man teams there and he should ve done it earlier. First 3 man stays there with 1 holding the line to bottom right room while the other 2 get ready to breach main room above. Second three man utilizes the guy whos holding in the courtyard and 2 more. They go on to clear the top 2 rooms with the window overlooking the big room. They can then collapse the big room with 5 people overlooking all angles. The three man looks up top in front and to the left while the two man breaching from bottom looks straight ahead and to the left covering the closed door. IRL it seems to me they could easily pin down the single guy holding the courtyard and flank if you do not split the team
PLEASE make more door kickers gameplay this was so fun and interesting to watch
I'm surprised you didn't use smoke for your guys to be able to flow in directly and establish a hold early before beginning the actual assault. Other than that, good stuff
That's pretty noobish behavior son.
@@chrishansen8201how so?
Be prepared to receive machine gun fire from that smoke.
Close quarter engagements have so many different “correct way” to do things. We could sit here all day and critique every entry he made but that would just be useless unless you’re trying to teach someone that there’s many ways to do things.
Shut up nerd
I'd really like to see more of you playing this, it's actually pretty informative listening to your plays and mindset. Also looks like a really thrilling game.
You mentioned pvp which I recon would only be possible having Offense vs defense which would still be super fun
19:35 you being prepared for everything happening here was sweet.
I'm thinking PvP could be done through a WeGo system like the Combat Mission games use. Both players plot out their turns over a designated time increment. So maybe each player is planning out their moves in 10 or 15 second increments. Put a timer on how long you have to plot out each turn as well to keep the game moving. When the opposing teams make contact you'll see who has the better initial planning and coverage and who reacts better to the changing tactical situation on the fly. I'm imagining one player is the assault role and the other player is defense, but it would be super cool if there could be like an open objective that multiple players assault simultaneously.
items that stun might be overused in pvp gamemodes, but it depends how they balance them
god i fucking love combat mission
That removes some of the more dynamic elements of the game. I feel like earning pauses over time is much better. Maybe earn 3 seconds of paused time per one second played. That way it'll never go on for too long and it'll still be super dynamic.
This is how Tastee Lethal Tactics worked. That's a really old game at this point but it was pretty fun.
Sounds a lot like Frozen Synapse
I've been dying to find someone that can play this game tactically 10/10
25:24 you're not talking too much, your thought process is very interesting!
This is the first time I've ever seen one of your videos. I can say I don't mind you talking so much. It's nice hearing the reasons why you're doing what you're doing. The thought process.
There's a mod on Nexus called "Going in Blind" created by TheoDr3, it blacks out the map.
Would be cool to see you play this with another person. To see it played from a co-op perspective where each of you only play half the characters.
or one person is controlling the Ts
@@matthewlaxon828 the problem with pvp is it has to be played in real time, and its quite difficult to effectively control more than 1 or 2 units without relying on the active pause. But maybe if the pause was on a cooldown and it only lasted 20-30 seconds.. 🤔
@@yellowsaurus4895 I was thinking 30 second prep to make moves, then it would play 5 seconds or so
@@matthewlaxon828 There's an old game that does this type of play called Laser Squad Nemesis. It was pretty awesome!
@@yellowsaurus4895 You and Matthew should check out Frozen Synapse if you're interested in a PvP game in a similar vein. You plan out your moves and then you and your opponents orders play out for five seconds, and then it's back to the planning phase. Don't know if it or the sequel still have that active of a player-base though.
This video brought my attention to Door Kickers. Thank you for this gem.
Robbery bob Reverse. Love this game. I just found out bout this game today and I'm loving the total vibe and overall theme of this game. There's also some sick tactics involve
Have not played the 2nd game yet but I looove the first door kickers. It's so much fun just making a single, detailed plan at the very start and watching what goes wrong and what goes right and perfecting the plan over iterations
Yeah, that's my favorite way to play the game.
The best way I can think of to handle that bottom right corner area is to take the bottom right room out of the equation first since it's not connected to the rest past that point. You need all your guys for the other room, leaving someone to watch one room instead of clearing it to take it off the board makes the other room all that more difficult and keeps a threat active.
As for how to handle the far bottom right room, more or less the way you attempted, but the opening should have been as far to the right as humanly possible. There's a reason yellow got lit up, the enemy had a better angle on him than he had, but nobody should have had an angle to that corner until moving. Stationary near an opening door at an angle taking in the entire room isn't a good idea a lot of the time. Usually better to see on the move after the flashbang. What actually happened was almost catastrophic because the gunner could have lit up the entire squad from there at once, they were all in his line of sight, more or less.
This game looks fun anyone played it on mobile?
Yeh not sure if there’s door kickers 2 but the first one is on mobile. Recommend playing on an iPad or something tho. But very fun
32:42 since you knew the general line of sight the enemy had, I think you needed to put yellow on the right side of the door, so when he kicks he isnt directly in line of fire
I remember playing this map with local militia (the only team I played, actually) and wall-breaching the first wall to the toilets. There's no such thing as "we only have one access" :D
It was a bloodbath after that anyways.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've been loving trying to do it all with Nowheraki SWAT. They can't carry many grenades but the sappers get 3 demo charges each! Changes the nature of room clearing from "clear the bad guys out the room" to "remove the room".
Not great when there's hostages, of course... 😆
I use the SVD or SVU with the team leader and try to first clear out guards before moving out
R6 Siege, Ready Or Not, and Door Kickers 2 are some of the best tactical games you could ask for especially for CQB
I would love to see more of this game, great commentary!
I think seeing the building layout is fair. IRL they have Blueprints, Drones, etc. not to mention, Mirror/Cams.
Flash banging a room that just had a wall demo for breach holy cow overkill.
I was a huge fan of the first DK and this one is awesome as well. Would def love to see more!
Huge fan of this game and like the way you play it. More for sure.
Somewhat surprisingly, this gives me Chess flashbacks. With the kill/threat lines that you forget about and get your "perfect" plan ruined.
Nice and stimulating
Former infantryman and active police officer and SWAT operator also tacticool gamer. The bottom right corner. Knowing the layout I would’ve taken the room that had the belt fed first even without the driving force of them shooting at you, you had way too many doors and unknowns in the other room so pin that door and then take care of the room that you know doesn’t have any other interior doors attached. Once you swung the door and guy started shooting again you have to either flow in or unass completely taking time for the bang when you’re team doesn’t have any viable cover isn’t a risk I’d take. It’s still an option for sure just not the way I’d do it.
Dork Kickers would be an awesome spin off title
Debrief: "Sir, all accounted for; just deaf and slightly concussed"
really enjoy these videos, the first video you did was one of the first I watched on the channel that wasn't tarkov, really glad you're getting back into it and would love to see more
More of this!! Love the game and your commentary/tactics
No bs, i skipped thru the video cuz you were yappin it up and landed right on the part where you said "you guys say i talk too much" shit had me dying lmaoo
love the game really wish it had simple coop system and servers
I would love to see more of this content
Wow, this is my first exposure to this game and it looks amazing. Exactly the type of strategy I would enjoy. A bit bittersweet as I'm watching this video not too long after deciding to take an indefinite break from games. I agree with you fog of war would make things much more challenging. But from a pure gameplay perspective I think seeing the layout is probably more fun. But that's all subjective. It was interesting hearing your thought process as I've always enjoyed tactics in other games but don't know much about real life CQB.
Not an expert, but my brain is saying to have kept yellow on rightmost wall to keep watching the right door while you slowly fed into the open area. The amount of noise that the squad was making drew more towards them into what was essentially a kill-corridor (don't know if there's an actual term for it). From there, do what you just did, but because you knew what they were using because of the staccato and you could have send the flash just a bit earlier than you did. You said it yourself: "I should have committed."
AI bots need more intelligence.
Someone blows a hole in a wall, reinforcements would be pouring in.
Someone banging on a door with a hammer, draws more reinforcements.
Enemies should have some grenades/smoke/bangs.
That bottom right room would be completely different with a more aggressive opponent.
Also, what if, now that you have the building and the HVT, the enemy reinforces and pushes the courtyard. You now have to hold the building and clear the courtyard...
This is so fun to watch! I love the idea of applying the tactics used in this game to games like Ready or Not. Super cool, great vid!
Never played this game (haven’t played a game since 2011 😂) but it was convenient Strider was the one to take a hit. That’s exactly where you’d want a mildly injured team member. Long range, *_(hopefully)_* low pressure, containment work.
You haven't played a game of hopscotch or tennis in awhile?
I cant believe that a fog of war for maps isnt a default feature, that seems like itd be a really fitting thing to have since yeah irl they dont get that kind of information very often
I've never heard of this game in my life and I don't know why because it checks every box for me! It's literally the itch I tried to scratch with games like xcom and rainbow 6 and squad but could never quite reach.
I'm off to buy it. I know they didn't pay you but they should have because you made a sale! 😂
The only thing I see you could change is not moving up your coverage person when it is not needed.
For example, in the back courtyard at the end, you didn't need to move up the guy covering the hallway from the barrels. He had a clear line of sight from hard cover, and the guys stacking to the HVI area were outside of the hallway line of sight.
It worked out fine, but if several pop out of that hallway, your coverage person had no cover.
I think this game should make you go back to the starting point once you've completed your objective so you can pick up any additional objectives on your way back, like that hostage, for example.
Always good to see more Door kickers 2
This game looks really cool! I really enjoy your tactical commentary, too!
First time viewer here. Love this game so far. You earned a sub
32:55 judicious use of wall charges. You got 6 guys, it's good to have two of them carry wall breaches. You could have kept the courtyard door closed with overwatch. put a wall charge on the work desk wall. You'd minimize a possible HVT kill because of all the used desk space, but you'd create an opening from which to shoot from with two or three guys set, even if you couldn't go in because furniture was in the way.
The PVP could be just two squads with recorded commands going against each other.
There is a fog of war mod of the nexus shop btw, blacks out the whole map
Great video bro!! One thing i would say is, once you cleared that room that blue was holding from the outside.. i would have brought him in and since you’re using a six man team, flow through those last few room with two 3 man teams simultaneously..
Point being is that the enemy knows your their, so violence of action is a must. Feel free to give feed back if you thing this may not be a good idea..
I haven’t had the chance to play this game but it looks fun!
35:15 Maybe this part could have brought the guy from outside to pie that door from the outside and pied the corner from inside with green or orange? You didn't need him outside anymore since you'd cleared that whole side of the compound, and had control of all paths out by that point.
It’d be really cool to see how you operate with no flashbangs or slap charges. Just basic kit.
I for one am definitely willing to see more of this game on your channel.
Room at 35:45 since door to unknown left close would have left a man there to overwatch. As there was def a flanker or someone who entered a cleared room.
Would have approached from multiple direction vs even leaving a man to overwatch
Sadly, I think Door Kickers from the defenders' viewpoint would be controversial, but someone has to plan these scenarios from the redfor side.
counter strike has existed a long time
@@sylvernale But CS has nothing to do with my statement.
Frozen synapse is the ultimate tactical experience hands down...
Please Do more of these. Gonna be using this game to teach.
RIP Blue, dude was next to usless for the fast majority of the raid
43:50 I remember Frozen Synapse has quite similar gameplay with a PvP mode (and a dope soundtrack)
id like to see like a stack up option where you can partner your guys and they basically just follow the lead of the guy in front. Probably make things easier in certain situations.
It is one of the best squad based, turn based, tactical games. I love games like Jagged Alliance and Xcom. They are all squad commander level games but Doorkickers is a lot more granular and meta and based around real world tactics.
so true
Reminds me of the old "Sum of All Fears" GBA game
Yo what software do you use to draw the blue lines?
a fog of war mechanic would be so cool!
My man that is not "hot pink" that is PEACH. And "purple" is hot pink. I feel like im going nuts over here.
Great video, I love how detailed your commentary is and how you walk through your whole thought process before doing anything. It's really fun and engaging.
would be great if you could find a fog of war mod. having no idea on the structure of the building before entering would be cool
Why didn't I know this gem of a game existed? Hope to see more!
It's my first time seeing this game and i'm inlove. I could have checked it if it's on sale on steam if i saw this vid yesterday, which is the last day of the steam sale. My poor ass is sad.
PvP would have to be 1v6 where 1 controls 6 squad members and the 6 control 1. Turn based 3 seconds for villains and 5 seconds for heroes. First shot advantage on players turn. The reverse would be 6 v 1 were the 6 are the heroes and the 1 controls the villianas
windows indoors are common if there has been an addition to the building
Could’ve stacked east wall on the swing, bang, double entry 32:51
Awesome video! I could watch another hundred hours of this.
Cool video!! I feel like a 2 player could be done, maybe the play goes for 5 seconds then each player can make their moves, play resumes when both players are done, or after 1-2mins 🤔
Played Frozen synapse and loved it at the time. Both parties make their few sec rounds at the same time and game simulates who saw whom and was there enough time to shoot/aim or continue to the waypoint.
It's like SWAT StarCraft Chess. I'm interested
I know this is late, but I wouldn’t normally recommend button hooking at 7:52
More of this game would be great. Fun watch. 👍
ive never played this game, so i might be completly wrong with my take. but from logical thinking i want so say the following:
around 30 mins, i dont get why you opened the first door. i would have put 2 guys looking at the first door, one in the left corner of the hallway, the other in the middle. one guy inbetween the doors, opening the right, the other 2 looking into the right room, one flashing it. instantly flooding it. if someone pushes the left door ("courtyard" i would call it), you have enought defense to deal with it.
i would do it like that, because you have to blueprint and know the room to the right is "isolated", pretty fast to clear. also opening the left door first made you vulnerable, had to cross an open sightline, i would always refrain from that.
Never heard of it before wow i really loving this so gonna get the game thanks Karmakut!
this game is great. please do some more content on it
Really cool, definitely gonna give this a go
Damn, its been over 10 years since I played frozen synapse and only now I see the similar combat mechanic! Really hope devs will make a pvp mod, I loved it back when fs had online
Yo you probably don’t remember me but we used to run Vault of glass raids together lol I’m glad to see your doing well man. Also this was a great video I had a blast watching lol this game looks fun I hope you play more of it .
I feel like when green took a hit you could have brought up the guy that was sitting in the first room to peak the other side then have him join the rest off the stack afterwards
I think I've seen you play this game a long time ago. (not a regular viewer btw) but yea, I'd love to see more!
Really enjoyed how you commented and explained the things you're about to do.
btw for some reason there's a vid in your door kickers 2 Playlist which doesn't belong!
oh this reminds me of frozen synapse (god bless that dead game)
Pretty cool. Might get this and play it thanks for showing it!
I like to think Dokkaebi plays this on his tablet
i like how 1 was swat and 2 is i think the marines
first time hearing about this game and it’s soo cool! also nice commentary 💪🏾
it would be cool if there was a co-op where each seperate player controlled one guy kind of lige ready or not but 2D and birds eye view
First video watched on your channel. Liked. Subscribed. I get ChristopherOdd vibes from you and I feel like this could be your XCOM. I would binge the heck out of a series
More of this please 🙇🏽♂️
this game is so nice. i will buy it instandly
do it! so underated
great vid enjoyed it and showed me a new game liked watching u play and commentary was A1 keep it up
