That’s too funny. I have the same machine and I was watching you struggle and I was going to say- turn your tires the other way :)
    Have a good one!

Joe, I wish you could of shown your struggle getting the PTO connection on the mower. I thought the mid PTO was toward the front of the tractor, seeing you working on the back helped, but not know what collar your PTO connection is would of been nice to see. I just recently bought a BX23s and see you removed the front loader and backhoe off the tractor. Would you say it made the install of the mower easier that having them on? That front attachment harness seems to be complicated with the front loader attached.

I got drive over and found a much easier install method than trying to jockey the stupid ramps, I carry the deck to the driveway which has a slight grade, lay the deck on the ground in front of the tractor, lift the tines and let the deck roll back to the front wheels, then use the tines to pick the front end of the tractor off the drive and the deck rolls right into place, let the front end down and the deck is right where it needs to be, no sweat, BTW never trust hydraulics on any tractor and stay out from under machine until it is safely sitting on all four wheels!

I have the same mower, I leave the wheels on the tractor pointed straight ahead...you actually lose clearance when you turn them to one side or the other. Worst part of connecting the deck are the rear lift links...the PTO shaft is the easiest part. Trying to get those lift links lined up with the pins on the deck is quite a chore. Other than that I don't mind this style of deck...no way was I getting the drive over version, everyone I've talked to says they never work as advertised. Not to mention all the other add on crap that hangs down under the tractor. I have to use a hammer to get the spring pin installed on the front bracket....I think its due to the newness of the machine with all the paint keeping things from sliding together properly.
Only complaint is the mower really don't throw the grass clippings far from where you are mowing, so it can make for a bit of an issue in really tall grass/weeds. Other than that the mower does a great job.
Takes me about 10 minutes to install and remove the deck, most of which time is spent removing other implements/attachments, dropping the loader bucket and getting the pallet forks, then bringing the deck over to the carport for install....the actual install really does only take about 5 minutes...removal is a bit faster as all you are doing is pulling pins and dropping the deck...but its also a great time to clean the deck and hit all the lube points on it. I only have about an hour of use on the mower so far, but I've greased it twice...once initially before I installed it and again after the first use...I was surprised how much additional grease it took the 2nd time. Should be good for quite a while as I don't use it very much as my hard out front of the house has way too many obstacles to try and use the tractor. I can mow maybe 3/4 of my 1 acre with the BX, the rest of it I have to do with a push mower or lawn tractor due to the amount of obstacles....some day hopefully I can get rid of several of those obstacles...and the obstacles being trees and shrubs. I'd rather have a few trees out in the pasture part of my property than right in the yard in the way.

Is there anyway you could tell me what the part number is on your mower deck?

Oh yeah. I can see why you wouldn't want a drive over quick attach mower. BTW, I think rotating wheels on mower deck would help a lot.

Watch Tractor Time With Tim BX vs JD and like my BX when I rotate them per the manual to make it easy to roll in and out, the holes provided are either too tall or too short. I had to drill new holes in the shaft!

Keep wheels straight. When you turn wheels you are shortening the distance by cornering the wheels inside and shortening the distance. Keep them straight

Appreciate that. For the most part anymore I keep the loader on while removing/installing and just lift the front end up to make it easier to slide. Thanks for the comment!

No need to turn the tyres and placing your anti scalp wheels at 90 degrees make it easy to roll it under rather than friction dragging.

I notice that your tie rod boots are yellow...are they aftermarket?

    • @Tom-ej8bb
      @Tom-ej8bb 3 роки тому

Probably. My 2019 BX 1880 boots I replaced after 50 hours of light use. Garbage. Yes went after market with boots from Paul and Kathy short in CA. Only problem was the boots don't fit outer tie rods but they were still good.

Newer models have those off-white boots. Supposedly they're the new style. I've only had my BX2680 for 9 months and mine is the -1 model which is the latest version.

Keep making tractor videos.. We would rather see them over car videos.

I'll keep popping some tractor videos up, unfortunately we've had far too much rain and snow this fall for me to do what I need to do with it lately. But I'll keep tossing some up as I go.
Their will be some car ones mixed in as cars are what I do for a living, but feel free to just skip what doesn't interest you. Appreciate the feedback!

As long as I have the loader on that’s what I do. Makes sliding it out much easier.
