What the video fails to mention is that you can’t turn the wheels on the BX1880 48 deck to allow for rolling the deck out. Didn’t notice this until I got it home and a neighbour who owns a John Deere pointed out that I spent a lot of money but still have to drag the deck to remove or install it. I feel for the price of these units that fixed wheels are just wrong.
Takes longer to talk about than it does to actually remove the deck. Takes a bit longer to install the deck as you gotta get it lined up properly so the rear pins line up with the slots in the mower deck linkage...the front bracket assembly is the easy part LOL. The PTO shaft isn't too bad once you get everything to line up...a tip is to shift the PTO lever into the rear PTO only selection, that allows the mid-PTO to spin freely allowing you to spin that shaft to more easily line up with the PTO shaft on the mower deck. One thing to always remember is before you turn the deck height adjustment dial, ALWAYS make sure the deck is all the way up, otherwise you'll screw up the deck adjustment assembly which is already pretty piss poor in the first place. I have the BX2680 with the 60" deck. it has an auto leveling bar on the back that everyone seems to skip over, that the 48" and 54" decks do not have. It helps keep the scalping to a minimum on uneven ground, not that it won't happen, it helps to mitigate it a little.
With the 1880 how come you can’t get the drive over deck? I bought a bx1880 last September and I love it! You would think that it wouldn’t be different because they’re the same tractor besides the tires keep up the great videos!
My only guess would be ground clearance issues since the BX1880 has smaller wheels and tires it may not have enough space for the additional linkages found on a drive over mower deck system.
you skipped over that PTO removal pretty quick. might be a good idea to reshoot that part. It's the most important part..
And he should have added to let the bogy wheels loose and let the deck go all the way to the ground to improve working room. Typical Dealer
