I love those ornate lanterns. My favorite garden helper used to be an old sofa cushion. As an older woman I needed that extra comfort while working on the ground. There is an endless supply of discarded sofas so the cushions are free and easily disposed when they get too grubby. Now that I am older still, it is now too painful to sit with my legs folded under me, too much strain on my knees. Also, it is more of a struggle to get up from the ground and get back down. So my new favorite thing is a gardening seat. My current seat is basically a very sturdy plastic tote that can roll about on sturdy plastic wheels. The tote has a hinged lid. The lid is padded. There is a strap attached so I can pull it around like a wagon and not have to carry it. The seat is only about 15 inches tall so I can get up and down more easily, reach the ground very comfortably, and push myself along the ground with my feet even when I'm weeding the lawn. The height of the seat takes the pressure off my knees so I can work for hours before my knees start to scream. There is room inside the tote for all my favorite hand tools, trowels, gloves, pruning shears, etc. I love my rolling seat so much that I bought several of them. I keep one in my truck for when I need to put air in my tires. I keep one indoors for scrubbing floors, painting baseboards, etc. and one in my basement. The only flaw is the plastic lid is a bit flimsy and begins to crack after about a year under my weight (170 lb). I solve this by placing a wood board on top of the tote (the seat from a discarded dining room chair). One of these days, I'll cut the board to fit and glue it to the plastic lid.
Are you planning on setting one up soon? Honestly, the garden keeps me sane so I’m rooting for your new one!☺️ now that the days are heating up and the mosquitoes are everywhere, I can’t be outdoors as much but I’m itching to go outside!

Ahhh yes!! Before I started my garden, I’d listen to his videos as I completed chores around the house ☺️ The MiGardener seeds are also so affordable!
