The Citrus Experiment: Uprooting and Repotting a 10 Year-Old Fruit Tree
What i have experienced with avacados is that if its not in clay then it doesn't need to be mounded. The feeder roots dont ever get root rot issues. Its mostly the bottom roots if it stands in water too long. I just up potted a huge avacado seedling i grew. I tried using a saucer or tray at the bottom of the container to catch some water during the hot summer so that the avacado get more time to soak up some water. But when i up potted it the roots at the bottom was a bit black. Luckily i caught it in time so the plant seems like it wasn't disturbed when i disturbed the roots at the bottom to just to open up thay darker roots from being in the water. So i guess avacados clearly dont like standing in any aditional water. They want to be watered and drained out immediately. But they want to be watered all the time lol
Hi, may I ask is the plastic grow bags better than the material grow bags? A lady at the nursery told me they had trees in plastic grow bags for years . Other people tell me that material grow bags breaks quick and grows lots of algae and some people say that the root ball gets dry too quick in material grow bags. I dont have personal experience with grow bags but those plastic grow bags are so much cheaper than hard containers and cheaper than material grow bags. I see you have both, thats why i ask.
Do you grow desert king fig?
I agree! I did not enjoy a single thing about guardians ride. I am not a drop ride kinda girl. lol. I want to go back. I was there at the beginning of Nov. Tfs. 🤙🏽🌺
I was just there last week. I never thought of doing the portrait. We just celebrated our 22 year anniversary. I wanna go back already. Tfs 🤙🏽🌺
Well worth the wait!
“I clean up, but then I destroy the garden the following day.” My kind of girl! I do the same freaking thing!!!
This made me so dizzy.😅
I'm sure your mom loves your garden and the roses and remembering her on this special day. But, to be honest, there's nothing that can surpass the love she must feel watching over you at what a wonderful mother you, yourself, have become. In your kitchen, in your home, and in your garden, everything you do is kind and thoughtful, and from such a place of love for your family. I think you make her happiest of all.
Is the jamaica plant in pots? If so how big do the pots need to be??
Awesome harvest.
❤❤❤
🙏🙏❤️
Your mom must have been a wonderful woman . That's a blessing for daughter to have so much love for her mom. 🌸🌼🌻🫶💐🌷🌺🌸🌹
Thank you so much! She definitely was an incredible person ❤️
What a beautiful person that your mother raised and I think that is one of the highest compliments you can give a mother. She must have been spectacular. Thank you for sharing how to make an offrenda and then ideas on what the offering could be. I’ve wanted to do this for years for my grandma but was intimidated to start… not anymore! I guess Dia de Los Muertos has passed but that doesn’t mean that I can’t still make one now. Thank you for sharing your joy with the world because it needs more positivity from people like you!
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! I know next year your ofrenda for your grandma will be stunning!❤️
Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you for watching and listening!😊
Muy lindo todo muy bonita la flor de jamaica. Now I have to make Dulce de Calabasa. It has been more than 10 years. They haven’t done Dulce de Calabasa love you garden, especially the jamaica looks wonderful and delicious.
Thank you so much and dulce de calabaza is so delicious especially in the winter!!❤️
Love these flowers and make it as a drink in our Hispanic household. 😋 What can be done with their leaves? I never knew that.
That's rosella bro!
Yesssss. We love sorrel here in 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🤤🤤🤤🤤 sorrel steeped with 🫚🫚 is sooo good. The white version is light and refreshing as well. When blended without steeping along with the 🫚 and lime is next level good.
Thanks for making this video 🧡
Leaves are also edible
This is the weirdest garden I have ever seen
Hi from Australia - thought of you today - I am starting my experiment of using kaolin clay spray to protect against sunlight/heat. Wish me luck 🐇
Can you do a seed saving video if you do that? Or do you buy your seeds instead?
And yummmm
I love watching your garden videos @DiariesofaPlantGirl. Do you have a patron channel for us followers?
I love drinking sorrel
Your garden is beautiful ❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your memories of your mom . Honoring your mom with an altar for Day of the Dead. This was a touching story . I'm sure she would be proud of your garden and be right there with you . I'm sure she's there in spirit . You've created a magical Paradise in the desert . Everything is beautiful the lights and the flowers . Thank you for sharing. I was even in tears thinking of my grandmother and mother .
Thank you so much for your lovely words ❤️
@DiariesofaPlantGirl Your welcome that was so beautiful. It gave me an appreciation for the celebration dia de los muertos .
So beautiful❤❤ I lost my mom 13 years ago and still to this day I wait for a phone call from her. The feeling doesn’t ever go away, but their pain does and I know that’s what matters.
I’m so sorry for your loss and “the feeling doesn’t ever go away, but their pain does” is such a powerful statement that I’ll keep close to my heart because it’s so beautiful and bittersweet ❤️
This is my number one favorite video of yours. Even though you were rushed in the end after being sick, the time and care you put into this is one of the main components and we are so lucky that you shared it with us. I feel special and very grateful. I'm sure your mami felt invited and sensed your love and hard work. It is obvious that she is always with you. Her altar came out so, so pretty and Serendipity is the most perfect place for both of you. My garden is also a place of peace and healing. I wanted to start creating these traditions that I wasn't able to grow up with and I planned on making my first ofrenda this year for myself and my partner. However, I'm always pushing for increased cultural belongingness in my college (because really zero programming or effort exists) and I heard that my dean approved the funding of an ofrenda but of course, it's always too late, we'll do it next year. And so I said heck no, I'll take it on, and I made a rather large ofrenda for my college and I got so much positive feedback and appreciation from the students, faculty, and staff. They let me know how special it was to them to be able to make a practice so far away from their families. Even though it was exhausting it was so worth it but I didn't do one at home after all. But you have given me some wonderful ideas for our home ofrenda next year and to make it even better in the college as well. As I started to gather supplies and make the decorations my friend sent me an Instagram on making the cempasúchil with coffee filters - AND THEY CAME OUT FREAKING GORGEOUS. You have to dye them and I did a few variations of deeper/lighter yellows-oranges. They were rather easy to make and each flower has so much personality with the color variations.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and it’s amazing that you were able to work so hard to make an ofrenda for your college! I’m sure it brought happiness to many who have lost a loved one and I’m positive your home ofrenda next year will also be spectacular! Thank you for the coffee filter idea! I’m going to try that next year for sure so it saves me time having to cut out all the circles 😁❤️
In Indonesia we call that rosella. We brew thag like a tea.
Rosella is such a beautiful name!😊
That first one, in Australia, we call it Rosella, which is also the name of a red bird. Ours is a bit smaller and we make it into jam.
How delicious and Rosella is a lovely name!😊
The flowers are gorgeous
What a wonderful way to remember your Mom ❤
Thank you so much!!😊
So beautiful 🙏🏼💜🕊
Thank you!!😊
Your tomato plants look like they need to be suckered. Taking the branches out of the V of the branches. You will produce more and better tomatoes by doing this.
Beautiful !!!
Here in 🇯🇲 Jamaica we call that sorrel, it is a pet of the hibiscus 🌺 family. Don’t forget to add ginger. 🤤🤤🤤 My mother brewed some earlier today 😌😌
I’ve made some in the past before and I agree it is delicious indeed! 😁
What did you call the first ones?
Jamaica which is a type of hibiscus but it also goes by the name sorrel, roselle hibiscus and a few others 😊
That's Roselle Hibiscus 🌺
Thanks. I couldn't understand what she called them!
Called Jamaica in Latin countries.
It is indeed roselle hibiscus 😊
@@DiariesofaPlantGirl What do you make with them?
@@isabellacygnus9461 Hibiscus tea, or agua de Jamaica! it's very refreshing cold with a little lemon juice and a few ginger slices 🤤
"Look how gorgeous 🤩" *snip snip snip snip snip* 😂😂😂
Hehehe 😏
Hey! Ar first:i love your garden and i think you're really good at it❤😊 with the cucumbers i think the problem might be that there are a bit too many of them.. it looks like you might have better cut those yellow and brown leaves.. let them breathe a bit more🙃
I like your red bowl, is it silicone? Have you tried sprinkling Ranch seasoning ? It’s so good. I think I should start buying the kernels in bulk to , better deal
❤
For cleaning the stains, try baking soda with just a tiny bit of water. Let it sit for a while then wipe away. Learned this trick from @YEUNGMANCOOKING, a great vegan youtube chef.
Thank you so much! I’ll definitely try this!😊
What do you make from this
Wow, what a delightful garden 🤎
Can you do a vid on what you can make with the jamaica leaves?
UA-cam sorrel drink and you'll get your answer
I grew those long red beans for the first time this year as they looked so cool. I only got about 3 beans total though, LOL. I think when I cooked them they lost some of their red color and became more greenish if I recall.
