I am confused as to how we should digitize the actual land uses of a particular area. In the example, building footprint was used to represent the land use, but the external areas (i.e. parking spaces) of the building were excluded or left out. How do we classify the land use of these ancillary spaces. By the way, this is helpful in doing a land use inventory.
Ty for the question! In the example, I implied that when we digitize 'existing' land use of our target area for CLUPs, we should digitize the building footprint of structures present. This rule of thumb is predicated on the context that, when LGUs prepare for the land use plan using GIS-derived area computation of land uses, it is important to measure only the BF so that the total areas of these land uses will not exceed the standard area requirement for residential, commercial, institutional, etc. (based on projected population for the next 10 yrs). Mangyayari if buong lot yung I-digitize, base sa GIS-derived total existing land use area, hindi na kailangan mag propose ng additional area kasi ung data nagsasabi na occupied na lahat at wala nang area for expansion. You will see this problem when LGUs digitize, say, the whole 1000 sqm as residential where in fact the area occupied by the residential structure is only 500sqm or less. As to the ancillary facilities within the lot e.g. dirty kitchen, garage, etc. as long as it is attached to the main structure you may digitize them as a single polygon i.e. Residential land use, but if they are significantly apart, they will be treated individually. The remaining areas such as front yard, etc. will be considered as open space in the existing land use, and the same will be construed as expansion areas in the proposed land use/zoning map. For big parking lots in the existing land use, they will be reflected as infrastructure utilities.
Helpful also that you digitize only BF especially if you're going to do CDRA. But, again different profession defines existing land use differently. To assessors, even if your house is only 250 sqm and your lot is 500sqm, the land use classification of your property will be residential. That is not the case with CLUP, i.e. when you project land use allocation based on standard area requirement considering existing land use and population projection.

how to digitize the Flood Prone Areas ? Thank you
You can get it maam from the mandated agency like MGB.
Looks like the topic could be interesting but I couldn't hear what your saying due to the loud background music.
Thank you for the feedback!
Sound not clear
Sound is very poor. The music is too loud, I can barely follow through
