Nice video Tim! I like using that plane to teach people how to fly for the first time.

    Salutations Tim!
I found this video to be very informative, and I plan to put this information to good use.
A local shop was clearing out all of their RC plane equipment and surplus parts, and I picked up a pair of Sport Cub S fuselages and other additional parts like wings, tail assemblies, and landing gear and propellers, so I could assemble them to fly, one of the fuselages has a receiver, motor and servos, and the other one is completely empty, and I plan to equip it with a brushless motor and a small receiver with a built in ESC to operate the brushless motor and some micro servos to operate the control surfaces.
When I am done with the assembly process, I will have a stock Sport Cub S and a modified Sport Cub S, one to fly on calm wind days, and the other to fly on windier days.
I do need to gather a few more replacement parts yet, and a Sport Cub S manual, but will soon be testing them this Summer.
    Happy Flying!
Thanks for sharing your experience with this plane!
Please have an excellent and awesome day!
    ☀️✨✈️

    Hey Tim, Nice videos.
I’ve been flying the Cud S for a couple of months now with the supplied transmitter.
Currently no issues. But in the beginning it acted erratic like yours. Luckily nothing broken.
I discovered that the placement of the battery in relation to the CG. Also the supplied hook and loop fastening strips are not the best , perhaps the battery was not being held securely.
Like I said, currently no issues. Beautiful flyer, beautiful looker.

Yep, barring a dud transmitter, there is absolutely no reason that the supplied Tx should not have been able to fly a properly balanced plane the same as with the fancier Spekky transmitter. (Or a decent Multi Protocol Radio!)
The only advantage the better units will have is the possibility to add stick rates and expo plus the finer control feel you get with hobby grade transmitters.
These little EPS planes are quite good fliers because of the lower weight of EPS. But for mug punters on their first try-out, the EPP planes give a vastly greater flyin' to fixin' ratio! 🙄

I have the Sport Cub S. On my second day it took off before I was ready and went into a continuous, climbing left turn. No control input would change it. The breeze blew it away. Several months later a homeowner near the field called me to say it had dropped out of a huge redwood tree in his backyard. It has flown well ever since. I'll try binding it to my DX 6.

Was I seeing Aileron differential at 08:10 ?

There might have been a bit due to the servo and aileron horn arrangement. Tim
