I always took sengoku's Buddha ability as being able to Channel all three forms of Haki at will. so armament is a given, observation to see through defenses and giving him his Masters strategic mind; and emperors haki causes the shockwaves. Because Blackbeard could not absorb the shockwaves, right? As in emperor's haki can get through his devil fruit power.
Agreed. It seems like he’d be completely invulnerable to damage while he’s in that form too. He might have been the best choice to them, but I somehow don't trust that man with all that power. He seems to care more about punishing what he perceives as evil to uphold his justice then examining the moral aspects of justice. Sooner or later, I expect he might just snap especially when things get worse.

I never said that Luffy has not done anything that is considered wrong. He has attacked members of the marines, destroyed a considerable amount of property as well as other such crimes. By law his punishment would indeed be justified. I am saying that one should make a distinction between innocent people and guilty people. There are those who within the world government who assume that those who are guilty should be punished even if it means killing those who are innocent as well. Absolute justice which Akainu seems to be a supporter of says that evil should be punished no matter the means and no matter the price. There is more to law then simply seeking to punish the innocent without regard for collateral. Look at the hunt for Ace, the government sought to kill him and likely his mother simply for the crime of being the son of Gol D. Roger. They likely didn't care that he had yet to commit a crime, to them his crime was choosing to be born as Roger's son. Killing Roger for his crimes was lawful, killing Ace for being his son would not have been. Neither was it apparently a crime for someone to make a ship that was purchased by a pirate in Water 7 except in the case of Tom. The government at times focuses so much on punishing evil or what they perceive as evil in some cases that they come off as evil to those that they claim to protect. Likewise, Lucci in his own justice killed 500 soldiers simply because he saw them being captured as evil. In one cartoon I saw once, a man who claimed to be protecting people disregarded innocent bystanders fighting those he perceived as evil even when given the chance to move the fight to a location where no one would be hurt which ironically his opponents wanted to do. He stated that anyone caught in the fight would be acceptable losses no matter how many there were. One of the bystanders eventually asked him "Do you think that killing this boy, the person he follows, or killing us will protect us? Tell me, how many of us do you need to kill in order to keep us safe?". When he protested that those people were his enemies and not him and described his enemies in detail, another bystander, a child stated that of all the people in that area he was the only one who fit the criminal description he described. The man stated that they would see that he is right to seek to kill these people even as he admitted that in his mad quest to kill those he perceived as evil he had effectively become what he hated so much. Besides that, the laws seem to be rather biased as those in power in the world government seem to be able to get away with a great deal of crimes which the government seems to take steps at times to deliberately ignore. If justice and law are fair then everyone should be subject to it and they should be subject to fair trials, due process, and other such measures to ensure that the system is not rigged. Clearly the system is rigged in a number of ways. For instance, their judicial system if Enies Lobby is accurate makes it impossible for anyone to receive an innocent verdict even if they are innocent. In acting cruel and inhumane in their actions and punishments such as Impel Down, the government hopes to scare people into doing whatever they want for fear of receiving the same punishments. All they do is inspire more anger towards them and increase the likelihood that people will be angry at them. Look at the Celestial dragons, they have committed so many crimes, so many sins, so many marks of murder, slavery (which is technically illegal in the one piece world), and numerous other crimes. Yet what punishment have they seen for their actions? None, because they happen to have the good fortune to be born into a family where they are seen as living, breathing gods. This is wrong, their bloodline shouldn't exclude them from the consequences of their actions. Only Doflamingo has seen the law punish him and only because by being related to someone who left their holy lands, he is seen as nothing but another lowly human. And the warlords, why oh why is it fair for the warlords to get a free pass just because they agree to be the governments dogs in name? They commit crimes just as much as anyone and yet only very recently has their freedom to do such things with impunity been revoked. They were given this status because they could be useful and were expendable, and they only lost it because they forced the government's hand, (Crocodile and Doflamingo), or were too weak (Moriah), or recent events forced the government to conclude that they are more trouble then they are worth. I cannot blame Alabasta, Dressrosa, and other places for being angry with the world government over their hypocrisy in this matter. There are many more examples I could examine, but I have made my point. I am not saying that the guilty should not be punished and I would appreciate if you did not conclude that. I am saying that Akainu's idea of justice and mine are very different. My view of justice is one in which the innocent are safe from harm, where the law applies to everyone, and where criminals are punished to the degree of their crimes. It is a view where one cannot escape responsibility because of their bloodline, their money, their status or any other reason. The most common depiction of justice I have seen is a blindfolded woman carrying a scale in one hand and a sword in another. This represents that justice is impartial, evidence is weighed, and that justice can be swift and fatal if necessary. I don't blame Luffy for not wanting to be a marine in this universe because the justice of the world government is in many ways a bad joke. He would not be able to live biting his tongue and ignoring these things without speaking out against it. In some ways, he could teach some of the marines a thing or two about the difference between right and wrong. The fact that a pirate of all people is considered to be someone that a few countries would rather support then the world government speaks of this organization's failure. I don't blame Dragon and his revolutionaries for their actions because the world government needs to change. There are those within who understand the necessity of weighing punishment and mercy, innocent and guilty, who prioritize following the law over prioritizing the will of the world government. Sadly these individuals cannot alone change centuries of history, cannot clean up ages of cancer, and rot which has grown in the infrastructure of the world government. Changes will need to come from both within and without before this is fixed. My idea of justice is different then that of Akainu and if you believe that this means I have no morality then so be it. You are entirely free to believe what you wish to believe just as i am. If this is bothers you then say so and I will be perfectly happy to leave and express my views elsewhere, but I needed to make my viewpoint clear.

The first thing that comes to your mind is the Ohara incident. Let me explain the incident and why it was justified for Akainu to blow the civilian ships. The scholars in Ohara were there for centuries researching the void century and it was illegal to do so. Now remember. The civilians are aware that it is an illegal act, but still never filed a complaint to the WG about the fact that there are scholars learning about the void century. So are the civilians truly innocent? No. When Akainu destroyed that ship he did it because of his lack of trust. You cannot blame him for his act. Will you trust the civilians too? The entirety of the revolution army is hypocrisy. The very foundations itself. They think they are doing something good when they say they are taking down the current government, but remember this. The chief of staff himself, Sabo, let Luffy live in Dressrosa. When revolutionaries themselves help the pirates, than how can you tell that they are true to their convictions? When people talk about Akainu and his wrong deeds than you must look at the other Marines. Aokiji for example, let Luffy go because Garp helped him in the past. Now what kind of Justice is that? He let a pirate go. Akainu would have taken Luffy out without showing any mercy, because he's a pirate.
@@nathanj3528 My attempts at responding in a more comprehensive fashion has proven to be something of a failure so I will condense my points as much as I can. As far as Ohara goes, I would question why the research was considered illegal in the first place. Most of the time, laws seem to exist to protect people or to uphold moral values. In this case it seems that the government is doing this to keep a skeleton in its graveyard hidden. I forget did the people of Ohara know the topic of the subject on which the scholars were researching? In another anime called Rurouni Kenshin, the government has a number of skeletons in its closet including the protagonist whom the government would like to see disappear from their history books to avoid people questioning whether or not their success was legitimate having to rely on manslayers, mercenaries and other such people. Oda worked on this anime before he began One Piece so he probably got the idea of governments doing this from that. As for the supposed hypocrisy of the revolutionaries, one could ague that they are being hypocrites because they are seeking to overthrow a lawfully appointed government or governments to cause change through force effectively making themselves criminals no different then pirates. One could then say that if they really wish to cause change in a legitimate fashion then they should join the world government and the marines, follow orders regardless of how morally questionable and when they have risen through the ranks to the highest of heights then they can cause change to happen for the better. Unfortunately we know that in order to be at the very top where you have real power to make change, you must be born there and those who are born with their power will likely never give it up or face judgement willingly. Revolution, is the only way that things are ever going to change in a meaningful way in this government. I worry that if they went through that route then they might very well give up on creating change before they get to a position of high standing and then the battle for change is truly lost before it has begun. As for Dressrosa, for Sabo to kill Luffy would involve him not only killing his brother and his superior's son, but killing someone whom the people of Dressrosa see as a hero. They see Luffy as a hero not because they are criminals, but because he helped them when the world government caused their plight. Both Alabasta and Dressrosa were plagued by warlords given power by the world government and helped by Luffy. In Alabasta the marine's were helpless and the government swept the incident under the rug while Dressrosa Fujitora did nothing to show the government that it cannot keep making the same mistakes and covering them up. He showed humility in admitting that the world government is not perfect and can make mistakes. If Sabo sought to kill Luffy he would need to face all of his friends, and all of the people of Dressrosa as well not to mention all the people he has helped all over the world. I feel that a good deal of reason Luffy is so successful is because of his personality, his actions, his mindset, and the fact that he does not act like a typical pirate. He enters Alabasta to help his friend Vivi, he leaves without being arrested by Smoker and Tashigi that one time and later Aokiji decides to spare him as thanks for dealing with crocodile. He helps in Dressrosa and the people protect him causing Fujitora to help him. Of course, he has his friends to thank as well, his allies and his grandfather has avoided arresting and killing him. In the end, perhaps the inability to reconcile his duty with his family was part of the reason Garp resigned. There are so many factors I could look into here, but I think I should move on. As for working with individuals of this nature, I have seen three book series in which this topic comes up, Mistborn, The Power of Five and Throne of Glass. In the first one, the revolution needs the help of a thieving crew because the only success they have ever really had is getting a lot of people slaughtered in expected massacre's. Thus the leader of this army needed to with great reluctance work with people whom he considered untrustworthy and criminals. Putting aside legitimacy because if his people all end up being dead again then their cause will be seen as just a example of abject stupidity, a group of people who are considered animals lashing back at their betters who are kind enough not to crush them underfoot the moment they are born. This thieving crew is composed of people who while being criminals under the definition of the law are also men and woman of principle who wish to see a better life for those oppressed under the current system. And besides that, those in power are as just much criminals as these thieves and guilty of far worse only their status protects them. In that world everyone is a criminal in some respect, but not everyone is equal under the law. In the other two the characters must work with unsavory characters in order to ensure their survival against an enemy who seeks to capture, torture, enslave, and kill them all in no particular order. You might say that their cause would be legitimate without these criminals, but here is the thing. If they lose then everyone will be subject to the same fate, even those on the side of the antagonists. They will not discriminate between those who oppose or help them when all is said and done and their allies are ignorant of that. In all three cases, the characters intend to once again establish a moral and lawful society in which the criminal element in purged, rendered toothless, or at least controlled. In all three they succeed in greater degree then what existed before they won their battles. Even in the One Piece world there have been instances of pirates working with the marines and not just the warlords. Law and Luffy worked with Smoker to take down Caesar and Smoker allowed them to leave without trying to capture them. Garp worked with Roger to protect the celestial dragons and their slaves. Even in real life it has sometimes been necessary for people or at times even governments to work with those that they would rather not associate with. It is not a preferred option, but in life we don't always get what we want in the way we want it. I certainly hope never to be put in that ugly position myself. The other option of the revolutionaries would be to eliminate all the pirates, bandits, and other criminals in the world before moving onto the world government. Putting aside the fact that this would allow the government to focus all their attention and resources on them, it is not something that they can do if the world government cannot. In the end, all they would be doing is helping the world government and trapping themselves in a perpetual deadlock. In the anime Akame Ga Kill, Imperial General Budo seeks to protect the ten-year old emperor both from rebels outside the capital who mean him harm and manipulators inside it how seek to control him. Thus Budo has decided that he will deal with all the external problems and clean house when they are done. The problem being that the people manipulating the emperor are the ones responsible for the revolutions, one through his indulgences and corrupt desires at the expense of all those around him and another through her bloodlust. Thus he is trapped in a situation where he is forever dealing with new enemies outside and never dealing with the source of the rot inside. I know that I am biased in this regard because I like Luffy and I am not ashamed of it. Call me immoral, corrupt, evil if you wish, you are perfectly free to do so but I think that yes Luffy is a indeed a pirate but in some senses he is also a decent person. That is why I am able to support him as the protagonist in this anime when I am certain he would not be a protagonist outside of it. Unless he and the revolutionaries become the same as the world government I will continue to support him. You are free to curse me for that, but this is how I feel and I am sticking with it. Onto Akainu, I will be honest the man scares me. I may make jokes about him, but he really does. I have seen people like him in fiction and there have been mixed outcomes for characters like him. Some of them when tested know when to draw the line under pressure, others move around the line now and again, and still others have crossed the line and become monsters. I worry that Akainu will fall into the last category when pushed far enough and similar to a volcano that destroys all in its path moving forward when erupting, he fear that Akainu will eventually seek to kill all the pirates using the most extreme measures without regard for innocents. I could be wrong, but this is what I fear. When these characters of this kind do snap, I find that people are generally surprised when they embrace their darkest side and become monsters. This is because until they did snap they were considered cool, awesome, badass or something similar. I have rambled on long enough so I will end with this. You are free to disagree with anything I say. That is your right, and I don't expect you to completely agree with me. Honestly I would be a little disappointed if everyone did. I just want to share my viewpoint and examine the viewpoints of others in as civil a manner as possible. If I am bothering you then I will be happy to leave this conversation peacefully. 13 years from the current story line, and yeah he was a regular admiral during that time period. He is shown wearing the outfit from when he was an admiral. Also, I'm not sure but Tsuru might have made a reference that Sengoku was an admiral at some point during that entire flashback. This makes since because the Koala-Kizaru incident was 12 years from the current story line and Kizaru was still a Vice Admiral at the time.
How did Fujitora become an admiral right away though? He was drafted during the time skip. So he went from civilian to the 2nd highest position in the whole marines.
Basically I can only think of one reason and that is his, as well as Ryokugyu's fighting abilities outclass those of the other candidates so much that they were drafted go Admiral right away. 2 missing Admiral spots is a huge deal, so what they needed first and foremost is power.
Who knows, mabye they has some type of tournament draft with people who the government were aware with with strong power who wasn't a criminal and tested there power to make sure they were worthy for the position. These people could kept refusing being a marine and with this draft, they had no choice
Nano's Squad also during dressrosa he did say when confronting sabo he is still getting use to his devil fruit so I think him and greenbull probably got their devil fruits after being chosen to be new admirals. If so I think those devil fruits gave them that level up.
Fujitora became an Admiral out of a regular civilian. A civilian that can bend gravity to his will, but I'm sure he wasn't affiliated with the marines prior to becoming an admiral.

The best thing about the comedy duo at 22:52, is that post timeskip it evolved into Sengoku mocking Sakazuki instead. And one can just FEELLL that Sengoku is having the time of his life doing it.
Maybe another ability of Sengoku in his Buddha form is that he has a light like the solar flare as you said, but it only affects those who are evil, so the more evil someone is, the more damage the attack is. That could make Sengoku a good judge of character?

Really excited about the Kong video, but you should also look into doing a video about Zephyr. Even though his movie isn't canon, just the character of Zephyr and the effect he had on the marines as a whole is so impactful to the series as shown in the film.
I'm not sure if Oda created him to be relevant. However, were Kong to become relevant as a fighting force I would guess it'd be around the time the Gorosei become relevant as a fighting force whenever that occurs.

I never said that Luffy has not done anything that is considered wrong. He has attacked members of the marines, destroyed a considerable amount of property as well as other such crimes. By law his punishment would indeed be justified. I am saying that one should make a distinction between innocent people and guilty people. There are those who within the world government who assume that those who are guilty should be punished even if it means killing those who are innocent as well. Absolute justice which Akainu seems to be a supporter of says that evil should be punished no matter the means and no matter the price. There is more to law then simply seeking to punish the innocent without regard for collateral. Look at the hunt for Ace, the government sought to kill him and likely his mother simply for the crime of being the son of Gol D. Roger. They likely didn't care that he had yet to commit a crime, to them his crime was choosing to be born as Roger's son. Killing Roger for his crimes was lawful, killing Ace for being his son would not have been. Neither was it apparently a crime for someone to make a ship that was purchased by a pirate in Water 7 except in the case of Tom. The government at times focuses so much on punishing evil or what they perceive as evil in some cases that they come off as evil to those that they claim to protect.
Likewise, Lucci in his own justice killed 500 soldiers simply because he saw them being captured as evil. In one cartoon I saw once, a man who claimed to be protecting people disregarded innocent bystanders fighting those he perceived as evil even when given the chance to move the fight to a location where no one would be hurt which ironically his opponents wanted to do. He stated that anyone caught in the fight would be acceptable losses no matter how many there were. One of the bystanders eventually asked him "Do you think that killing this boy, the person he follows, or killing us will protect us? Tell me, how many of us do you need to kill in order to keep us safe?". When he protested that those people were his enemies and not him and described his enemies in detail, another bystander, a child stated that of all the people in that area he was the only one who fit the criminal description he described. The man stated that they would see that he is right to seek to kill these people even as he admitted that in his mad quest to kill those he perceived as evil he had effectively become what he hated so much.
Besides that, the laws seem to be rather biased as those in power in the world government seem to be able to get away with a great deal of crimes which the government seems to take steps at times to deliberately ignore. If justice and law are fair then everyone should be subject to it and they should be subject to fair trials, due process, and other such measures to ensure that the system is not rigged. Clearly the system is rigged in a number of ways. For instance, their judicial system if Enies Lobby is accurate makes it impossible for anyone to receive an innocent verdict even if they are innocent. In acting cruel and inhumane in their actions and punishments such as Impel Down, the government hopes to scare people into doing whatever they want for fear of receiving the same punishments. All they do is inspire more anger towards them and increase the likelihood that people will be angry at them.
Look at the Celestial dragons, they have committed so many crimes, so many sins, so many marks of murder, slavery (which is technically illegal in the one piece world), and numerous other crimes. Yet what punishment have they seen for their actions? None, because they happen to have the good fortune to be born into a family where they are seen as living, breathing gods. This is wrong, their bloodline shouldn't exclude them from the consequences of their actions. Only Doflamingo has seen the law punish him and only because by being related to someone who left their holy lands, he is seen as nothing but another lowly human.
And the warlords, why oh why is it fair for the warlords to get a free pass just because they agree to be the governments dogs in name? They commit crimes just as much as anyone and yet only very recently has their freedom to do such things with impunity been revoked. They were given this status because they could be useful and were expendable, and they only lost it because they forced the government's hand, (Crocodile and Doflamingo), or were too weak (Moriah), or recent events forced the government to conclude that they are more trouble then they are worth. I cannot blame Alabasta, Dressrosa, and other places for being angry with the world government over their hypocrisy in this matter. There are many more examples I could examine, but I have made my point.
I am not saying that the guilty should not be punished and I would appreciate if you did not conclude that. I am saying that Akainu's idea of justice and mine are very different. My view of justice is one in which the innocent are safe from harm, where the law applies to everyone, and where criminals are punished to the degree of their crimes. It is a view where one cannot escape responsibility because of their bloodline, their money, their status or any other reason. The most common depiction of justice I have seen is a blindfolded woman carrying a scale in one hand and a sword in another. This represents that justice is impartial, evidence is weighed, and that justice can be swift and fatal if necessary. I don't blame Luffy for not wanting to be a marine in this universe because the justice of the world government is in many ways a bad joke. He would not be able to live biting his tongue and ignoring these things without speaking out against it. In some ways, he could teach some of the marines a thing or two about the difference between right and wrong. The fact that a pirate of all people is considered to be someone that a few countries would rather support then the world government speaks of this organization's failure.
I don't blame Dragon and his revolutionaries for their actions because the world government needs to change. There are those within who understand the necessity of weighing punishment and mercy, innocent and guilty, who prioritize following the law over prioritizing the will of the world government. Sadly these individuals cannot alone change centuries of history, cannot clean up ages of cancer, and rot which has grown in the infrastructure of the world government. Changes will need to come from both within and without before this is fixed. My idea of justice is different then that of Akainu and if you believe that this means I have no morality then so be it. You are entirely free to believe what you wish to believe just as i am. If this is bothers you then say so and I will be perfectly happy to leave and express my views elsewhere, but I needed to make my viewpoint clear.

Now why Akainu is hated? The first thing that comes to your mind is the Ohara incident. Let me explain the incident and why it was justified for Akainu to blow the civilian ships. The scholars in Ohara were there for centuries researching the void century and it was illegal to do so. Now remember. The civilians are aware that it is an illegal act, but still never filed a complaint to the WG about the fact that there are scholars learning about the void century. So are the civilians truly innocent? No. When Akainu destroyed that ship he did it because of his lack of trust. You cannot blame him for his act. Will you trust the civilians too?
The entirety of the revolution army is hypocrisy. The very foundations itself. They think they are doing something good when they say they are taking down the current government, but remember this. The chief of staff himself, Sabo, let Luffy live in Dressrosa. When revolutionaries themselves help the pirates, than how can you tell that they are true to their convictions?
When people talk about Akainu and his wrong deeds than you must look at the other Marines. Aokiji for example, let Luffy go because Garp helped him in the past. Now what kind of Justice is that? He let a pirate go. Akainu would have taken Luffy out without showing any mercy, because he's a pirate.
@@nathanj3528 My attempts at responding in a more comprehensive fashion has proven to be something of a failure so I will condense my points as much as I can.
As far as Ohara goes, I would question why the research was considered illegal in the first place. Most of the time, laws seem to exist to protect people or to uphold moral values. In this case it seems that the government is doing this to keep a skeleton in its graveyard hidden. I forget did the people of Ohara know the topic of the subject on which the scholars were researching? In another anime called Rurouni Kenshin, the government has a number of skeletons in its closet including the protagonist whom the government would like to see disappear from their history books to avoid people questioning whether or not their success was legitimate having to rely on manslayers, mercenaries and other such people. Oda worked on this anime before he began One Piece so he probably got the idea of governments doing this from that.
As for the supposed hypocrisy of the revolutionaries, one could ague that they are being hypocrites because they are seeking to overthrow a lawfully appointed government or governments to cause change through force effectively making themselves criminals no different then pirates. One could then say that if they really wish to cause change in a legitimate fashion then they should join the world government and the marines, follow orders regardless of how morally questionable and when they have risen through the ranks to the highest of heights then they can cause change to happen for the better. Unfortunately we know that in order to be at the very top where you have real power to make change, you must be born there and those who are born with their power will likely never give it up or face judgement willingly. Revolution, is the only way that things are ever going to change in a meaningful way in this government. I worry that if they went through that route then they might very well give up on creating change before they get to a position of high standing and then the battle for change is truly lost before it has begun.
As for Dressrosa, for Sabo to kill Luffy would involve him not only killing his brother and his superior's son, but killing someone whom the people of Dressrosa see as a hero. They see Luffy as a hero not because they are criminals, but because he helped them when the world government caused their plight. Both Alabasta and Dressrosa were plagued by warlords given power by the world government and helped by Luffy. In Alabasta the marine's were helpless and the government swept the incident under the rug while Dressrosa Fujitora did nothing to show the government that it cannot keep making the same mistakes and covering them up. He showed humility in admitting that the world government is not perfect and can make mistakes. If Sabo sought to kill Luffy he would need to face all of his friends, and all of the people of Dressrosa as well not to mention all the people he has helped all over the world.
I feel that a good deal of reason Luffy is so successful is because of his personality, his actions, his mindset, and the fact that he does not act like a typical pirate. He enters Alabasta to help his friend Vivi, he leaves without being arrested by Smoker and Tashigi that one time and later Aokiji decides to spare him as thanks for dealing with crocodile. He helps in Dressrosa and the people protect him causing Fujitora to help him. Of course, he has his friends to thank as well, his allies and his grandfather has avoided arresting and killing him. In the end, perhaps the inability to reconcile his duty with his family was part of the reason Garp resigned. There are so many factors I could look into here, but I think I should move on.
As for working with individuals of this nature, I have seen three book series in which this topic comes up, Mistborn, The Power of Five and Throne of Glass. In the first one, the revolution needs the help of a thieving crew because the only success they have ever really had is getting a lot of people slaughtered in expected massacre's. Thus the leader of this army needed to with great reluctance work with people whom he considered untrustworthy and criminals. Putting aside legitimacy because if his people all end up being dead again then their cause will be seen as just a example of abject stupidity, a group of people who are considered animals lashing back at their betters who are kind enough not to crush them underfoot the moment they are born. This thieving crew is composed of people who while being criminals under the definition of the law are also men and woman of principle who wish to see a better life for those oppressed under the current system. And besides that, those in power are as just much criminals as these thieves and guilty of far worse only their status protects them. In that world everyone is a criminal in some respect, but not everyone is equal under the law.
In the other two the characters must work with unsavory characters in order to ensure their survival against an enemy who seeks to capture, torture, enslave, and kill them all in no particular order. You might say that their cause would be legitimate without these criminals, but here is the thing. If they lose then everyone will be subject to the same fate, even those on the side of the antagonists. They will not discriminate between those who oppose or help them when all is said and done and their allies are ignorant of that. In all three cases, the characters intend to once again establish a moral and lawful society in which the criminal element in purged, rendered toothless, or at least controlled. In all three they succeed in greater degree then what existed before they won their battles.
Even in the One Piece world there have been instances of pirates working with the marines and not just the warlords. Law and Luffy worked with Smoker to take down Caesar and Smoker allowed them to leave without trying to capture them. Garp worked with Roger to protect the celestial dragons and their slaves. Even in real life it has sometimes been necessary for people or at times even governments to work with those that they would rather not associate with. It is not a preferred option, but in life we don't always get what we want in the way we want it. I certainly hope never to be put in that ugly position myself.
The other option of the revolutionaries would be to eliminate all the pirates, bandits, and other criminals in the world before moving onto the world government. Putting aside the fact that this would allow the government to focus all their attention and resources on them, it is not something that they can do if the world government cannot. In the end, all they would be doing is helping the world government and trapping themselves in a perpetual deadlock. In the anime Akame Ga Kill, Imperial General Budo seeks to protect the ten-year old emperor both from rebels outside the capital who mean him harm and manipulators inside it how seek to control him. Thus Budo has decided that he will deal with all the external problems and clean house when they are done. The problem being that the people manipulating the emperor are the ones responsible for the revolutions, one through his indulgences and corrupt desires at the expense of all those around him and another through her bloodlust. Thus he is trapped in a situation where he is forever dealing with new enemies outside and never dealing with the source of the rot inside.
I know that I am biased in this regard because I like Luffy and I am not ashamed of it. Call me immoral, corrupt, evil if you wish, you are perfectly free to do so but I think that yes Luffy is a indeed a pirate but in some senses he is also a decent person. That is why I am able to support him as the protagonist in this anime when I am certain he would not be a protagonist outside of it. Unless he and the revolutionaries become the same as the world government I will continue to support him. You are free to curse me for that, but this is how I feel and I am sticking with it.
Onto Akainu, I will be honest the man scares me. I may make jokes about him, but he really does. I have seen people like him in fiction and there have been mixed outcomes for characters like him. Some of them when tested know when to draw the line under pressure, others move around the line now and again, and still others have crossed the line and become monsters. I worry that Akainu will fall into the last category when pushed far enough and similar to a volcano that destroys all in its path moving forward when erupting, he fear that Akainu will eventually seek to kill all the pirates using the most extreme measures without regard for innocents. I could be wrong, but this is what I fear. When these characters of this kind do snap, I find that people are generally surprised when they embrace their darkest side and become monsters. This is because until they did snap they were considered cool, awesome, badass or something similar.
I have rambled on long enough so I will end with this. You are free to disagree with anything I say. That is your right, and I don't expect you to completely agree with me. Honestly I would be a little disappointed if everyone did. I just want to share my viewpoint and examine the viewpoints of others in as civil a manner as possible. If I am bothering you then I will be happy to leave this conversation peacefully. I did not come her to begin an argument and I hope that things do not got that way. I hope you did not find my response as a completely lack of space and that your day is going well.

I think sengoku was still an admiral during law’s flashback about over ten years ago with corazon.
13 years from the current story line, and yeah he was a regular admiral during that time period. He is shown wearing the outfit from when he was an admiral. Also, I'm not sure but Tsuru might have made a reference that Sengoku was an admiral at some point during that entire flashback.
This makes since because the Koala-Kizaru incident was 12 years from the current story line and Kizaru was still a Vice Admiral at the time.

How did Fujitora become an admiral right away though? He was drafted during the time skip. So he went from civilian to the 2nd highest position in the whole marines.
Basically I can only think of one reason and that is his, as well as Ryokugyu's fighting abilities outclass those of the other candidates so much that they were drafted go Admiral right away.

Who knows, mabye they has some type of tournament draft with people who the government were aware with with strong power who wasn't a criminal and tested there power to make sure they were worthy for the position.
