What's even more appealing too him specifically is that Kimimaro has a unique Kekkei Genkai that is one of the rarest ones we see both in the context of the story (because he's the only one in his whole clan who has it) and in all of the show, his body type Kekkei Genkai Shikotsumyaku is so interesting and unique

Kimimaro was always one of those characters that I really wished we saw more of cuz he's just a really interesting character with an honestly metal af Kekkei Genkai. It's honestly thanks to him and Haku that part 1 Naruto still hold such a special place in my heart.
Kishimoto absolutely did NOT plan everything out from day one. He kind of made it up arc by arc, Toriyama style. Most notably, he originally intended Itachi to just be a straight-up villain through and through. The whole "Itachi is actually a good guy" twist was never planned from the start.
That's correct, but almost everyone writes stories like that. No matter whether in the manga or books. Oda also changed quite a few things afterwards or while he was writing an arc. A story develops and the longer a story is, the more develops during the action of the story. Some just make an effort that everything fits more or less, see Oda, although he also has some things that are questionable. best example crocodile and enel. For others it doesn't matter. See toriyama^^
Kimimaro and Suigetsu, and his brother Mangetsu were such cool underutilized characters in Naruto even all the filler didn't give them enough backstory. Collecting and mastering all 7 ninja swordsmen blades is such a cool goal. I'm mad the anime war arc filler didn't even show how Kimimaro and Mangetsu were sealed.......

Kimimaro was an awesome villain, and kind of funny he's proven more durable than a lot of villains in the series when he doesn't even need Edo Tensei regen to just facetank a Rasenshuriken. Him at his peak was probably higher than most of the Akatsuki.

1:37 are we one of those people who thinks Rock Lee working hard with a disorder that messes up his ability to use jutsu makes him more of an underdog than having the demon that killed your entire family, made you an unloved street urchin for 13 years and the primary target of the world's most powerful criminal organization, AND is messing with your ability to use jutsu sealed inside of you as an infant does? Or is the message of the series about green jumpsuits?
Kimimaro has that kind of personality and vibe. I like a lot in antagonists for sure and wish we got so much more from him, but damn he put on a hell of a showing for being sick af against 2 legends
If we're all honest with ourselves, most of the peak moments of Naruto were everyone that wasn't Naruto doing stuff. Also, only 284 episodes out of 720 are entirely canon material. 40% is outright filler and about 25% more is filler stuff mixed into the canon stuff (mostly during the 4th Shinobi War at the end). So Naruto's anime could've been about 65% shorter if it wasn't for A) Money and B) Needing to stay behind the manga. Another fun fact, only 73/293 episodes of Boruto are manga canon. It is so dragged out that they use "anime canon" as a term to make it seem like only 11% is filler when in actuality, 75% of it is filler lmao.

Also, it's been stated that Boruto takes place 15 years after the end of Shippuden meaning Boruto, who is currently 12 years old same as Naruto was in the Original series, was born 3 years after the war, which means Naruto and Hinata, who got married at the age of 19, only a few months after they started dating, were 20 when he was born, making them 32 in Boruto. And you can pretty much guess the age of the OG characters from there, considering they were all the same age as Naruto except for Lee and Tenten who is a year older.
Kimimaru has always been one of my favorite characters In naruto. His powers are honestly super creative and just straight up cool. And the fact he singlehandedly smacked down BOTH gaara and Lee 2 characters we saw as crazy strong at the time, he did that with literally no control over his own body. Like if he didn't have his special jutsu he wouldn't be able to move at all at that point. His level of just wild strength was mind blowing at the time
I assume that Kishimotto came up with Kagura shortly after coming up with the Infinite Tsukuyomi / Eye of the Moon Plan, considering she is literally named of the folklore character Kaguya, princess of the Moon. Honestly, I think he thought that by laying no foreshadowing, people wouldn't see the twist coming. We can see how he failed with his previous "Who is Tobi twist?" This was an over-corrected response.
Of course the alien rabbit looking girl would be named after Kaguya though? I mean, Naruto is named after food, and kiba technically has a dog related name, so it's not really going against his naming conventions

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's irked by the lack of clarity with Naruto's timeline. As someone who occasionally writes fanfiction for the series, primarily in the past, it's a real pain in the ass to sift through and figure out when things actually happened. And it's even worse if you're dealing with characters and events outside Konoha. Even Konoha's history is murky and difficult to place, but it's god damn freshly polished glass compared to, say, Kiri or Iwa. Don't even start with the minor villages. We don't know a single thing about almost any of them outside Ame.
Finally someone else who appreciates Kimimaro. Ever since I saw him I have always wanted to play a DnD character based off of him. Bone powers/magic is super creepy and cool. Plus he fights Rock Lee another one of my favorites in a hilarious way

Honestly, as someone who read the Naruto online releases as they came out, while Kaguya was mentioned prior to the showdown with her... I'm fairly certain everything about that fight in of itself was an ass pull. Kaguya herself wasn't entirely problematic (although it did make chakra a gift from aliens rather than something that the people just had), she served the same role that was initially filled by the sage of six paths and to a lesser extent Madara and Hashirama served. As beings of myth and legends, people who shaped the very world the characters live in. And potentially for the really ancient ones, maybe were nothing more than just stories, a collective mythology that all the clans shared, doesn't mean they were real, but the artifacts like the 5 weapons, the Uchiha clan tablet, and the rinnegan definitely indicated there was more to the legends than just words. In my opinion, that's what Kaguya should have stayed as: A story. A true story of how the sage of six paths teammed up with his brother to defeat their problematic demigodess alien mother and created the moon to imprison her. But one that should've stayed firmly as an event that happened in days otherwise forgot to time save for wisps of stories and speculations based on old relics.
I had an idea that Kaguya could have been introduced with the Five Kage Summit. The samurai would have worshipped her as an execution and war goddess. Their blades would have been forged with the bones of the Kaguya clan.
I'm glad someone mentioned how cool Kimimaro was, even if it's like 30 years later. He was one of my favourite characters, but only partially because of his strength. I just thought he was a really cool stoic, intelligent and innocent character, even if he got brainwashed by the snekman.
Y'know something kinda interesting, Kabuto said if Kimimaro wasn't sick the mission too assassinate the 3rd Hokage would've gone way easier, implying that Kimimaro was even stronger prior too his sickness, some people believe he could've even soloed the 3rd Hokage too
That’s not true. He said that Kimimaro was largely responsible for killing Rasa (Gaara’s Dad) making it that much easier to kill him, and they said it would’ve been easier than it already was if he wasn’t sick. (They jumped Rasa, Kimimaro/Orochimaru/Kabuto did)

If i remember correctly shortly after Kimimaru dies, or even immediately after, at least in the anime, they cut to orochimaru being told Kimimaru is dead, and Orochimaru basically just shrugs, proving he actually didn't care much for him at all.
Kishimoto I feel wrote Naruto like a D&D campaign, he had a lot of the baseline plot established in his head but the more he got into actually playing out the campaign the more cool shit he started making up on the fly + by the end of the war he got really into Ancient Aliens so thought “to hell with it I’m going to introduce this God who is actually a Alien but that part I’ll reveal in a one-shot sequel that then sets up for Campaign 2.”
You put my feelings on the battle into words so well, that was the first fight that made me legitimately not care what was going on with the main plot. I just wanted to see those titans fight!

When you talk about how done you were with the end of naruto I completely get it, I never even fully finished it lol. First naruto and first half of shippuden were amazing, but when the big war hits at the end it felt pretty redundant
I had completely forgot about the dances he used! I remember I had a little kimimaro toy when I was younger , and the uncut box set , I think it was volume ten, I would use his dances on all my other toys and have them all get defeated 😂. Ah the nostalgia.
Yeah Kimi was a beast. Only time I didn't mind a dude being so powerful that the plot had to kill him lol. As for the end of the series I think shippuden should have ended with the pain arc and then there should have been a new series set a few years afterwards that was all about madara, obito and the 3rd shinobi war. The otsotsuki either should have been cut or saved entirely for boruto imo.
Kimimaro vs Gaara was super cool, it was one of my favorite fights when I was younger. I had a poster of the field of bones with Gaara and Lee about to be attacked.

Mangetsu I believe was sealed by Sai and kakashi. Kimimaro stalemate naruto and was released mid fight by itachi.

I'm glad someone mentioned how cool Kimimaro was, even if it's like 30 years later. He was one of my favourite characters, but only partially because of his strength. I just thought he was a really cool stoic, intelligent and innocent character, even if he got brainwashed by the snekman.

Y'know something kinda interesting, Kabuto said if Kimimaro wasn't sick the mission too assassinate the 3rd Hokage would've gone way easier, implying that Kimimaro was even stronger prior too his sickness, some people believe he could've even soloed the 3rd Hokage too
That’s not true. He said that Kimimaro was largely responsible for killing Rasa (Gaara’s Dad) making it that much easier to kill him, and they said it would’ve been easier than it already was if he wasn’t sick. (They jumped Rasa, Kimimaro/Orochimaru/Kabuto did)

If i remember correctly shortly after Kimimaru dies, or even immediately after, at least in the anime, they cut to orochimaru being told Kimimaru is dead, and Orochimaru basically just shrugs, proving he actually didn't care much for him at all.

Kishimoto I feel wrote Naruto like a D&D campaign, he had a lot of the baseline plot established in his head but the more he got into actually playing out the campaign the more cool shit he started making up on the fly + by the end of the war he got really into Ancient Aliens so thought “to hell with it I’m going to introduce this God who is actually a Alien but that part I’ll reveal in a one-shot sequel that then sets up for Campaign 2.”
You put my feelings on the battle into words so well, that was the first fight that made me legitimately not care what was going on with the main plot.
I just wanted to see those titans fight!

When you talk about how done you were with the end of naruto I completely get it, I never even fully finished it lol. First naruto and first half of shippuden were amazing, but when the big war hits at the end it felt pretty redundant

As for the end of the series I think shippuden should have ended with the pain arc and then there should have been a new series set a few years afterwards that was all about madara, obito and the 3rd shinobi war. The otsotsuki either should have been cut or saved entirely for boruto imo.
