    i saw several of your videos... and i really love them!
    can you make some videos that will cover the following topics ?
    1. what algorithm can people use for different cards? 1080, 1080ti, 1070 etc...
    2. what will be the best coins for what card?
    3. what will be the best optimization for awesome miner for different cards type?
    4. overclocking...
    i have 3 rigs right now and and also have awesome miner.
    my rigs are: 8 1080
    6 rx580
    and another one of 6 1080ti
    im looking how to maximize them with awesome miner...
    thanks.... and keep making videos :)

    You are so good with how you explain these things, you should be a professor, thank you Goosetech-Awesome Miner really is awesome, have only just started crypto mining and i think its really cool. also been Using MinerGate but Now i see why doing it this way might make so much more sense, a little technical, but sure worth it. 1 question , is it OK to have multiple GPUs in a single Desktop PC and be able to assign the remote system to work this way? or does it have to be specifically a professional mining Rig? Finally can one GPU mine different currencies or just one at a time? Thanks

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      You can run several GPUs in one desktop, no problem. That's what I did in this example. If they are different brands, that may be an issue. So, if at all possible, make sure they're all AMD or all nVidia before attempting to use the remote agent setup. Also, be sure to assign a profit profile for that particular machine.

    Hey Goose, nice vid. Presumably your suggestion of setting a static IP and using that as the setting for the miner is because it's more robust than rather than using the network scan option and selecting a miner that way? I've not got into using Remote Agent yet but I can imagine that machines rebooting and using new IP addresses from the router means you'd potentially have to be re-doing the scan from time to time....?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      Exactly. If your router restarts, it could possible assign a different IP address to the mining rig, which would cause it to go offline. Best to set static IPs for all rigs so there is never a question.

    Hi Goose, is there any pros and cons using the Network Scan function to setup the Awesome Miner Remote Agent vs your approach of using the New Managed Miner?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      I suppose network scan feature is a bit easier for users who prefer not to setup static IPs. It is best practice to set static IPs for your rigs though.

    Good Stuff, The Static ip setup fore each remote miner seems logical but no mention of this on awesome miner help or in their recommended setup. I have 7 Remote miners all using DHCP. Is this going to be a problem? Should I go ahead and change them all now? Some more advanced videos would be great. Thanks

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      Once AM knows the MAC address, it shouldn't be an issue. But, if it becomes a problem in the future, best practice would be to set static IPs for each miner. It's just good networking.

    I press start but it won’t mine, is that cause I need to add all three awesome miner files to the exclusions.

    Also what if I want to install the regular download?

    Thank you, every new video give us new possibility with awesome miner . One more question , how correct setup Awesome Miner Remote Agent but for Multi-Algorithm Profit Switch Mining, and how you got miners total numbers on Dashboard. I see only miners graphics

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      Multi-Algo Profit Switch mining is not recommended for this type of setup unless every rig you have uses the same type of graphics cards. If you're like most miners, who have several different GPUs (some nVidia/some AMD), then you won't be getting the most out of your rigs. This is because when AM decides to mine a specific coin, it will force every rig to mine the same coin. Case and point: you have an nVidia rig that's good at Digibyte-Skein, but you also have an AMD rig that's terrible at it. To mine DGB-SKN on both rigs makes little sense because the AMD rig will be bringing in little to no profit. It would be better to set the AMD rig to an algo that it is good at, such as Ethash, so you can optimize it and maximize profit.

    • @adi001fly
      @adi001fly 6 років тому

      If main PC with awesome miner will power off, all other mining rigs off to?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      No, the mining rigs will continue to mine even if you have to reboot the machine with Awesome Miner on it. When AM reloads, it will connect to all the miners and display the stats as usual.

    • @adi001fly
      @adi001fly 6 років тому

      Thank you, with your grate video lessons, now is easy to setup and control whole system. but i have next question , how setup software to see all miners rigs cumulative Total balance, to see how much we got per month and maybe possible to each coin separately. And possible to do automatic detection of stopped GPU on miner rig and get email about that.

  • @mattssporre4948
    @mattssporre4948 6 років тому

    Normalized Profit: I understand that the number given is the 24hr bitcoin equivalent - but at which hash rate? The pools total hash rate for that algo does not make sense as each algo is mined by different amount of GPUs. Or have I missed something?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      It's based on the pool's combined hashrate at that time.

    • @mattssporre4948
      @mattssporre4948 6 років тому

      Thank you for answering - much appreciated.
      Ok - so then the relevance to my rig's capabilities is more indirect. Given that my rig hash rate is negligible compared to the pool's total hash rate (which makes sense :) and that I will get paid in relation to my rig's relative hash rate (relative to the pool's total) the numbers actually relates to my own profitability. At least somewhat - here is my worry.
      Assume I have an Nvidia-rig that would contribute 1% to the pool's total hash rate for Equihash and 2% for Ethash (I know it would likely be the other way around, but this is just an example to make a point). The present normalised profitability for Nvidia is Equihash: 0.17789 and Ethash: 0.17012. Thus, MPH will tell my rig to mine Equihash, but my rig would make more “money” mining Ethash.
      Or am I missing something?

  • @mattssporre4948
    @mattssporre4948 6 років тому

    Hi Goose - why do you need to do a benchmark when you only configure the miner to switch between coins of the same algo (Ethash)?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      Just in case you decided to use profit switching (e.g. if all your rigs were built with the same GPUs) and also so that you have an idea of your starting point. It is also nice to just check your benchmark tab to see where you ought to be (if something appears off).

    • @mattssporre4948
      @mattssporre4948 6 років тому

      Again, thank you for answering.
      I get that if I where to mine with profitability switching between different algorithms I need to benchmark those algorithms relative to each other. However, if I am profitability switching between different coins of the same algorithm a benchmark would make no difference.
      An afterthought though - a benchmark actually does make sense even when mining only one algorithm as it would make the statistics more accurate - right?
      Awesome miner and hash rates is a bit confusing as the hash rates appear in several places.
      Tools > Benchmark - here is where you test/benchmark and then save your rig’s actual hash rates.
      Main > Options > Algorithms - here the hash rates are listed (and you can change them). Are these related to the “benchmark one’s”
      Main > Options > Profit Profiles > General - again the algorithms are listed with hash rates that are changeable.
      How are these three “instances” of hash rates related and when do you use one over the other? Maybe worthy of a tutorial 😉 ?

    Hi Goose , your videos are great . I would like to ask you a question . What do you think is better , have many pools so that the profit switch would pick the best pool ? Or stick at 2/3 pools so that awesome miner won't switch many times , ( maybe losing something during switching) .
    If so want are your recommended pools besides MPH.
    BTW , im from Italy , sorry if i made any mistakes .
    Keep it up.

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      I like fewer pools so that your hashing power is consolidated in one place...it would mean that you get more credit for the mining that you do rather than a small percentage on several different locations. Of course, luck is a variable, but I still prefer focusing on a single pool. If you have several more pools configured, you may want to adjust the profit threshold so that it does not switch so frequently.

    can a single worker be used on multiple rigs? or must there be a unique worker per rig accessing your MPH account?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      A single miner on multiple rigs? No. Each rig needs its own miner because each rig has its own IP address. I would also recommend using different workernames for each rig so you can keep track of them more easily.

      That's similar to what I do just use the full software on the VM without local mining and all rigs with the remote software. Since the licenses are OEM and cheap, they're perfect for fresh installs which is why I use those for VM instances and natively allows for remote desktop. They accept BTC as a payment option too :)
