    This is required viewing for any member of MiningPoolHub! I starting using the Multi-Coin / Multi-Algo port prefix (12XXX / 17XXX) today, and it's awesome. Now I'm just tweaking the settings you mentioned: Options> Profit Switching> Switching Interval (minutes), Threshold (%), and Ignore (minutes).
    Would you think about doing a follow-up video on the considerations of the financial logic of exchange rates (with your own disclaimer of course)? The reason I'm asking is that although we are mining the "most profitable" coin tod
    ay, it will either be more or less profitable tomorrow. So, shouldn't we know the second step? That is, managing our wallets to avoid losing those profits and perhaps to make even more profit by exchanging the coins at the right time?
    Perhaps this video is out there on UA-cam somewhere. If you are anyone reading this knows - please link it below. Thanks.

    I'm mining eth with 8 rx570 4gb using awesome miner through mining pool hub. I have been using claymore dual miner since I built the rig. It was getting a steady 215mh/s. I recently updated awesome miner and saw a new algo called phenoix. I tried it out and I'm now getting 221mh/s and the cards are running 2 degrees celsius cooler.

    These videos have been priceless in getting me up and running with Awesome Miner. Thank you. I realize you can only run 2 miners under the free version but how do you setup multiple profiles for different methods and coins you wish to mine rather than having to edit your 2 miners each time you want to change things up?

    Great Video, I have watched it six times! I would like to add a couple of thoughts. I had played with Awesome Miner before I found this video. Some people might like to know how to reset awesome miner before you follow these instructions.
    1) You must delete all files starting with "config" located in the %appdata%\awesomeminer directory( make sure you have completely closed awesome miner.
    2) The commands you entered for "claymore" didn't work for my algo-switching miner. I had to enter them in a different spot.
    go to the NVidia(Amd) profile, click on the claymore miner, configure, then enter them in the command line box.

    As always great information and easy to follow. I have been using AM with MPH for a while. Did an update yesterday and noticed that they have now added a few more pools to the basic settings. I love your videos I've really learned a lot, but I was wondering if you could do an updated version since a few of the steps you mention are options that are not available in the current version of awesome miner. For example the advanced tab in options to " send password for Claymore API request" it's not there. also, in managed miner properties, the tab does not have mining engine selection options, the box looks totally different from the video. Thanks again and keep up the good work. Hash on!!

    Thanks very much for your videos, I'm fairly new to crypto mining but am running several rigs already. Your previous vids with MPH and Awesome miner inspired me to use this combination so far and your series of vids have been very useful for a noob like myself. There are a couple of questions though like what was you typing in before you pasted the url and why and what is normalised profit as displayed on MPH. Also it strikes me that its possible to use different strategies for cashing out like turning off auto exchange on mined coins until exchange rates are favourable and mining and holding coins on longer term strategies. I would really appreciate your thoughts alomg these lines.

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      stratum+tcp and ssl are protocols for the server address
      Norm. Profit is the amount of profit in BTC the pool is earning per day based on the pool's hashrate. Higher number is more profitable, which is why MPH switches to the top coin automatically in the algo switch method.

    • @chriscalvert6259
      @chriscalvert6259 6 років тому

      Thanks for your speedy reply Goose-Tech really appreciate it. I guessed that the prefixes to the URL's were protocols but what are they protocols for and are they really necessary or just good practice a little more in depth knowledge of these would be nice. And why is it referred to as normalised profit as I understand it its some sort of average taken over a period of time to smooth out the bumps as the algo's are solved but I've noticed one or two coins jump up only to drop down extremly quickly sometimes (feathercoin and verticoin for example) which can play havoc with the auto profit switching in Awesome miner which you have mentioned before in your earlier vids hence why you set up a custom pool to profit switch in. My understanding though may be way off, I'm not very confident with much of this stuff as its all quite new to me. I understand your reluctance to answer my other point with regards to cash out strategies ( it seems everyone is cautious about giving financial advice theese days) do you know of any where that I can look into that aspect of mining in depth.

  • @TheNorliss
    @TheNorliss 6 років тому

    Hi Goose. I liked the look of Awesome Miner and recently discovered your videos but have found AM a frustrating experience thus far. I wanted to setup a Profit Switching miner to swap between Nicehash, 2 Mining Pool Hub algorithm pools and a couple of individual coin pools on on Suprnova. I setup a Profit Managed Miner with all the relevant info but found it was opting for Nicehash even when there were more profitable coins to mine. I eventually removed my NH address from AW and it still opted for Nicehash!
    I tried deleting the config files as per the AW site (to no avail) so did an uninstall, reboot and clean re-install of AW. This time I avoided putting any NH details in, input Equihash and Lyra2REV2 pools from MPH then two individual Suprnova pools and created a group. This time it kept opting for MPH's Lyra2REV2 pool even when both MPH's Equihash pool and the individual coin pool on Suprnova was way more profitable. I removed the MPH Lyra2REV2 pool from AM and yet it still kept opting for this!
    Any ideas?!

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      Someting to consider...and this just happened to me earlier this morning...sometimes AM will choose to mine a coin that appears less profitable than another. For example, I can mine LUX to the tune of about $5 per day, however, AM has been switching to MONA and DGB-SKN periodically. Why? This has a lot to do with the calculated hashrates on the pools and the amount of reward expected for your hashrate. Profit switching is all about getting you the most amount of coinage possible, even if that means mining a less profitable coin. The reasoning behind this is that sometimes you can mine a larger amount of a lower value coin and still make more profit. Also, volatility of crypto prices will affect what is mined because it constantly shifts. Your profit switch threshold can help your account for this.

    • @TheNorliss
      @TheNorliss 6 років тому

      Thanks for your reply! Your comments about profitability are helpful and duly noted although I still don't understand why it will start mining from a pool when it's been removed from the software...

    • @TheNorliss
      @TheNorliss 6 років тому

      I was steered toward the "View Details" option by Patrik at Awesome Miner which displays the information from which it determines profitability. I think I may have discovered the root of my frustration. If using a managed profit miner, it will use whatever is ticked in the Profit Switching section, irrespective of whether you have appropriate pools set up. Only de-selecting the algorithm in the relevant section will stop it mining a particular coin/algo in this mode.
      Thanks again for your videos, they're really good.

    Very helpful Video buddy, very new to mining :), Great help mate. Q: How to save the profile after benchmarking ? I see that there is a save to profile, once clicked, where are the settings gone ? because when we click thet tab again the algos are all unchecked and save to profile greyed ? I am sure there is a basic answer very new to mining :) Cheers

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      hmm...usually all your hashrate stats are saved on the algorithms page...you can also check the profit profile for your GPU to see which algos are enabled and the saved hashrate. You can also right click your miner to save hashrate if it is different than what was saved from the original benchmark.

    is not working. is keep stopping and it says "interface offline". I reboot the system and still does it. I have done a diagnostic and it says incorrect configuration. that was for Equihash - Zcash. I unchecked this algorithm and I have another error. My antivirus software is blocking the programme, windows defender. It see it as a trojan. I tried to find how to allow it but I can't. :(. the file which see it as a threat is Coinminer!bit. Is it OK to allow it ? I think I did allow it but when I start mining it says : "You enable full remote management option but did not specified - mpsw option to protect it by password.

    Hi Goose, for the 2nd method, in Mining Pool Hub do we need to setup the worker name (eg GooseTech.Miner1) for each individual coin that will potentially be mined and/or do we set it once as a Hub Worker? ... feeling a little confused (ref timestamp 26:30)
    Thanks once again for a great video and your continued support! ;)

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому +1

      No need to setup hub workers when using algo-switch method. Hub workers are used in conjunction with another mining solution like that of MultiPoolMiner.

    • @avib70
      @avib70 6 років тому

      Thanks, so i guess we still need to setup a worker name for each individual coin that will potentially be mined. I'm referring to your GooseTech.Miner1 that you setup in Awesome Miner, but not sure exactly where it correlates to at Mining Pool Hub. There seems to be a missing link, or perhaps i'm missing the point. :)

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому +1

      You need to enter your MPH username so that MPH knows what account to credit for the mining. The workername is so that you can identify what machine is doing the work whenever you visit the Dashboard or Workers pages.

    Hi, Thanks for the awesome tutorial, I like your other videos too, please keep us educated/informed. I was wondering if it is possible to do Multi-algo profit switch mining for both GPU and CPU combined with Awesome Miner, that way my CPU (i7-5960X) is working alongside my GPU (GTX 1080) to maximize the hardware capability. Or is it that I need to create 2 separate miners each for CPU and GPU, benchmark separately and run simultaneously -- since their performance level is very different? BTY, I am assuming that mining on both CPU and GPU at the same time is alright since they are two separate units, I do under-power those to keep the temperature under control, will appreciate if you can comment on that.

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      Yes, it is possible to mine using both the GPU and CPU simultaneously. I did a video on this about 2 weeks ago. Please check out this video ua-cam.com/video/Zyqq-GoqP7k/v-deo.html and the followup to increase performance of your CPU by enabling huge page support.

      If you can't access MPH, then what you could do is substitute the server addresses I use from MPH with the server addresses from another pool. You could try www.suprnova.cc/. This site is a bit more complicated because it requires you to add workers before you can start mining, but there are plenty of tutorials on how to get started with suprnova as well. Best of luck.

    Hi Goose, Just wondering about the mechanics of switching. If we look at whattomine.com we see today for example, Verge jumping up and down like crazy. Now, is this because the value of the coin has increased or the difficulty decreased or something else? The time it takes to mine the coin and then the time receiving it in your exchange or wallet would negate these fluctuations, unless we were actually mining more coin. Any insight on this?

    • @Plexus37
      @Plexus37 6 років тому

      And this leads me to my next question :) Obviously with Verge on LyraV2 i strayed away from MPH. Could you maybe do a tutorial for the 4th way to use AwesomeMiner, 1) Simple Coin Mining, 2) Algorithm Switch Mining, 3) Multi-Algorithm Profit Switch Mining. and 4) Multi Pool , Multi algo, Multi coin switching :)

    How do you set up a wallet to accept cryptocurrency if you don't have a bitcoin address set up yet? Can you use an online wallet? Or do you recommend hardware?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      It depends. Many of the popular cryptocurrencies offer web wallets, which allow you to setup a username and password to access it. These are reasonably secure, provided you keep your private key or security phrase safe. Another option is a desktop wallet, which is a quasi-offline way of storing your cryptocurrencies. There are popular multi-coin wallets such as Exodus, Zeltrez, or Coinomi, which provide several different cryptocurrency wallets all under one roof. This is one of the easiest ways to get started with crypto. Lastly, each coin usually provides its own desktop wallet, which you can usually download from their website. Hope that helps.

    Hey there,
    loyal subscriber of your videos here!
    I have a question regarding the MPH when using awesome miner profit switching.
    In Hub worker configuration on MPH, which Account's Default Job do I need to choose?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому +1

      That's a good question, although it is not necessary to set this when using Awesome Miner. AM uses its own stats from whattomine.com to determine when to switch. To let MPH take full control over mining, I believe you'd need to use a program like MultiPoolMiner.

    • @zuraakhvlediani4771
      @zuraakhvlediani4771 6 років тому

      Thanx for the quick reply!
      Are there any dev fees included in Awesome miner? if yes, where do we find it and how do we change them?
      also, one more question, Are you planning to make a video about Multi Pool Miner in near future?
      overall, once again, thanks for the great work for the crypto community!

    Hi Goose, do you ever ping the servers to make sure you're getting a good speed? I've had us-east and asia return better pings for me than europe on occasion, and I'm in Ireland.

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      I'm on the US East Coast, so I've always had better ping with the US servers. But, it certainly can't hurt to check these things first.

    • @dubcindub15

      It's worth checking from time to time alright. One other thing, could you do a video showing the setup for non-included miners in Awesome Miner? I get about 200kH's more on Neoscrypt with HRS than anything else so I'd like to use that with Awesome Miner for the extra options available in it, but can't figure it out :(

    I get that Awesome Miner can handle a computer (rig) with multiple gpus but does it have to be all amd or all NVidia?
    I have a AMD RX580 and my old card was a GTX 970, so can it mine with both in the same miner?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      It's more stable to run all the same type of GPU on one machine. Mixing can cause problems...that said, you can mix and match them. Just be aware that you'll be tweaking them differently to optimize for mining.

    1 major question i have is:
    in the options menu theres a menu called (statistics) i notice there are options for current...24hr average or 24hr actual.... What is yours set to and explain why...??? thx helpful vids

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому +1

      Sure, this is regarding the way in which AM displays your profits. With 24hr average, it will look at all the pricing data over the last 24 hours and figure an average price, which is then multiplied by your hashrate to determine your profit. The 24hr actual is a reflection of the current price the coin is going for right now, which is then multiplied by your hashrate to determine your profit. The first option shows less fluctuation than the second. As a matter of preference, I like the 24hr average because there's no need to see the profit fluctuate regularly. I don't sit at my computer staring at my profit for 24 hours, so the average is all I need.

    • @kool-k-kel
      @kool-k-kel 6 років тому

      thanks for your reply , more my issue is in a multi algo/coin scenario..
      for example it says in the statistics menu that the statistics are used for display and!! profit switching:
      the options are
      Current: i assume this picks whats profitable now..
      then..
      24hr average(estimate)..possibly based on next 24hrs based on hash/price ?
      and 24hr average(actual)based on last 24hrs, maybe useful for selecting single coin?
      im only asking in a multi algo/coin scenario ... cheers
      so you use 24hr average estimate or 24hr average actual and what happens if you use multi algo vs single coin, i see the point in selecting Current when using multi algo???
      i am getting this ?

  • @riegerkh
    @riegerkh 6 років тому

    Hi i have a problem, i use awesome miner because of your great videos. i use it for CPU mining Electroneum and use since your support the XMRig Miner. Since i chanced to this, the hashrate of my GPU Mining directly in Claymore sunk from 42 MH/s to 1 MH/s.
    I think because of much CPU usage. When i change back to CPUMiner-opt as before, the ETH Mining in Claymore is higher (but CPU Hashrate is smaller)
    What can solve the problem? Can the CPU usage in AwesomeMiner be limited?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому +1

      CPU usage shouldn't be an issue with XMRig because the default max usage is only 75%, which leaves plenty of CPU power for other tasks. There must be something wrong with your GPU settings. Are you using the latest version of AM and mining software? Also, are you sure that you are using XMRig CPU and not XMRig GPU??

    • @riegerkh
      @riegerkh 6 років тому

      Yes it is definitly the CPU XMRig and hashrate goes down.
      The Claymore is used outside Awesome Minner 4.4.2. This setup i had before awesome miner and the problem increases since 2 days is changed the CPU Miner.

    im only just starting to play around with mining (only as a hobby atm) but if you start with one gpu and then add a 2nd gpu will that 2nd gpu be added to the worker name or do you have to make a new worker for each gpu that you have

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому +1

      if you're adding the second GPU to the same machine, it will automatically be grouped with the existing miner (as long as it's the same type, e.g. both cards are AMD).

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      It could be that the pool they're using for the benchmark isn't up. What you can do is create your own pool for a coin that uses Equihash and start mining. Once it starts going, then right click the miner and choose save hashrate.

    Goose, amazing review of Awesome Miner (AM) methods. I installed AM on another computer i.e. a laptop that only has Intel Integrated Graphics 3000, so I could only use CPU mining. I could not find a CPU algorithm to do ZClassic? Any ideas of what to use???
    I was able to CPU mine Electroneum.
    Thanks again for all that you do.

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      I believe you can download a stand-alone Equihash CPU miner from Github, but I have not felt comfortable doing that since the hashrate is not likely to be that good on CPU. I prefer to mine Electroneum with CPU using XMRig.

    • @GooseTech

      I thought I explained this in the video. Unfortunately, the coin that's being mined does not show up in Awesome Miner. You have to look at the algorithm being mined, then go to MPH website and reference the chart to see what coin is being mined for that algorithm.

    might be off topic. but is there a way to send coin out of normal wallets back out to the auto exchange wallet in MPH? i turned on the sliders of the coins i wanted to be turned into BTC. 24 hours later they havent moved.

    • @GooseTech

      Sure, go to the wallet of that coin you want back on the exchange and then click on Wallet. At the bottom left of the main page will be your balance. Next to it will be two arrows. Just click the >> right arrow to move the balance from Normal Wallet to Exchange.

  • @petebuka4423

    Do you have to have wallets for each of these coins when doing option 2 Algorithm Switch??
    Or do we just leave say ZCL is the auto exchange I want all mined coins to go into that wallet?

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      If using the auto exchange, the only wallet you need to setup is for the coin you set in auto exchange. Otherwise, then you would need individual wallets for each coin.

    can you show a video to setup 2 miners on the same card? example Lyra2z only utilizes 50% of it's capacity, if i set it to mine only that i can use nicehash on lyra2r2 and awesomeminer on lyra2z but i can't seem to get it to work in only awesomeminer.

    • @GooseTech
      @GooseTech  6 років тому

      You are better off overclocking the card to achieve better performance for the Lyra2z algo than trying to push it to hash two algos at once. There is a reason you can't get it to work in AM: it's bad for your GPU and will likely have adverse effects such as rejected shares or fewer accepted shares because the card is being pushed to the limit.
