i knew a girl who threw an “unemployment party” on a wednesday at midnight with the tagline “being unemployed is sexy and chic”. this girl is a manhattan rich rich who’s parents pay for everything for her. it was unreal.
Lmfao, they could work from 18 to 22 and buy a house. I've been working since 18 and have been homeless twice due to not being able to afford rent, twice due to DV,(one was my own case, one was my friend's) twice due to abusive parents Eta: I'm 22, 23 in may
This reminds me of every time we have “town hall” meetings with the CEO of my work and he says he “understands how hard times are” and I’m thinking ‘sir, you’re a millionaire and own a private jet, you have no idea’ 🙄
I once had a doctor try to convince me to begin taking a new medication for my rare and quite serious medical condition. The problem was that it hadn't yet been approved in my country, though, if we jumped through the right hoops and correctly filled out the right forms, I would have been able to have it legally imported, but our national health plan wouldn't cover any of the cost. When we told her that we had suplemental private insurance, she went off to find out how much would be covered, which was 80%. Still skeptical, we asked her to crunch the numbers and tell us how much our 20% would cost us per year. It would have cost us almost $5000 more than my annual salary from my full-time, far from minimum wage job. That woman simply could not wrap her pampered head around the sheer impossibility of us spending that much on a medication for the rest of my life. She was actually furious at us for not taking my condition seriously enough and dropped me as a patient. The best part - That medication didn't work nearly as well as advertized and came with a very long list of likely side effects, forcing most patients to disconue taking it within a year or two.
Worked half a decade in fast food, once had a Mcdonald's customer come in screaming at the top of his lungs how we owed him money because he ran out of gas while idling...for four minutes...at a location that has gas stations within 3 minutes both directions. Dude was yelling at literally everyone, asking for managers, then the managers' manager, etc. And due to the staff, y'know, attending to other customers and drive through he started yelling even more about how he had a daughter outside in a hot car, "DON'T YOU BASTARDS CARE?!" yes...he was trying to guilt trip us about himself, leaving his own daughter in a car, outside of an air-conditioned building...at 9:00am with 75f temperatures outside. Eventually I went to the back to restock some items and he started yelling at me specifically to get back there prompting me to raise my voice slightly to be heard over the machinery and customers only for him to scream even harder "DON'T YELL AT ME, DO NOT YELL AT ME!!" and continued trying to guilt trip the rest of the crew until they told him that if he didn't shut up, they would call the cops. I've had plenty of crazy ass customers and people I've run into in my life that are in another freakin' dimension in terms of logic, but that guy always stuck out for all the funniest reasons. Godspeed to the poor kid that has to live with him...if she's even real.
In my case it's my late aunt. She thought that loans were free money banks just gave to people and you didn't have to pay the lenders back. She thought that debit cards had no spending limit and ended up with over $15,000 in overdraft fees (not including what she actually owed) across four different banks.
@@eminempreg My grandparents more-or-less gave her everything she wanted until she was in her 60s. My aunt was basically what happens when you never say "No" to someone for 65 years.
1:45:53 - 1:46:02 I don't have the right words, but i want to say it's a euphoric sense of self empowerment. Where you're basically like, "well, at least im not a terrible person like they are." Or in OP's case. "Wow this girl is terrible, let me watch more of content so i can rant and ramble about how terrible she is." This type of anger inducing engagement is how one gets views. Notice how you have a lot of difficulty finding wholesome/feel good stories from reddit and the channels that focuses on it. (Especially ones voiced by a human). Meanwhile, there are hundreds of channels that primarily focused on r/aita, r/DNDhorrorstories, tales about karens, kevins, crappy bosses, etc. Subreddits filled with content to show the worst of humanity, and thus gain more traction and views. It's a sad, cycle of feeding toxicity.
the story 14 OP correcting themselves, apologizing for potentially offending people, and admitting to their lack of knowledge is something I so rarely see on the internet that it seriously shocked me. Mad respect for them
My wife had an uncle. Whenever he visited us, he told use that we were young and stupid and know nothing about life. He knew life because he spent a few years in France. It's a running joke between us, that we need to visit France to know life. After he divorced his wife, he was supposed to pay child support. He did by giving her the money directly. She was supposed to report that he paid her. She didn't because then she would get money from state. By the time his son was an adult, he had huge child support debt. Fortunately for him our police is too stupid to find someone without their current adres. That uncle also ate lots and lots of dried plumes because his stomach hurt. It was obvious to us, who know nothing about life, that his stomach hurt because he drank vodka every day. He also dumpster dived for fun and profit, and gifted us such great "treasures" like boots that had soles broken in half, a plastic doll house that was ugly, slightly broken and smelled funky, or a sled that was older than me. Those years in france didn't teach him that if something is in the dumpster, there is a good reason for that...
story 20 (around 22:20) made me sad, it sounds like she is suffering from some kind of body dysmorphia. i don't like how OP overly described her unattractive features and then made fun of her when she clearly was embarrassed and suffering with body image issues at the end of the story.
Can we get a playlist with the guy that everyone likes? His narrations feel like I’m listening to a friend. His voice is naturally warm and his takes are always appreciated. I don’t mean to alienate the other guys, but they break the immersion of the conversation and I can’t really tolerate their voices for long.
Story 47 at 1:02:50 oof. That was my mum too. She had Triple Negative breast cancer. I knew she had cancer but she never let on how bad it was to try and... I don't know, stop us from worrying? My son was only 7 months old when she died and she only got to meet him once. Much like OP, my mum was really sharp and clever, the denial was very strange and it is absolutely devastating that my son will never know his grandma. She absolutely adored him and was a wonderful mother to me. I miss her every day.

To clarify about teaching in Japan, you don’t need a teaching degree, but you need a degree from an English-speaking uni and proof that the majority of your entire education was in English. It sounds easy, but depending on the company/school you want to work for the rules can be very strict. I have multiple degrees and I couldn’t use one to apply for a visa because that particular uni had a scandal years after I graduated.
Would be a good idea, but you honestly don't even have to do that. I've heard of some English teachers having Japanese assistant teachers to help with the language barrier. The Japanese are just really fixated on native speakers teaching their kids English, and the requirements are really low and demand is high.
They have actual people voice these videos, but the old guy was just better. I would guess that he’s just taking a break and enjoying life. Something bad might’ve happened but I think they would’ve told us, so again, probably just taking a break
Love how the one "story" is just a guy whining about people who support Trump. That's called your opinion. Not to mention, the alternative option was someone who never won a primary, had no policies, and was as fake a politician as one can be. Maybe if you wanted to actually beat Trump, put up a real candidate with actual policies.
Both. Both parties were insufferably stupid in the last decade plus. Put a libertarian in office, this country was founded on libertarian ideals anyway.

Dude I could fill a book. I come from a large family where the majority suffer from mental illness and/or addictions.
