That little plastic bottle with the pump is for nail polish remover.. u use a cotton n press down to soak the cotton ball then remove ur polish.. u can use it for anything that is liquidity
Rain-x for the win but I am going to try the Nu-finish. I don’t even use armorall on my vehicle it will eventually dry out the material on your dash and doors. Pledge furniture polish is better.
Lastly, the expanding garden soil will work if applied correctly. Garden tip: using separate container with NO holes. Put water in the container then place the compressed soil in/ on the water. Walk away and wait until the soil fully absorbs the water. Add more h2o as needed. When it looks like full fluffy cake, break it apart with a fork, and pour some into the pot. Add seed, bulbs, or plant, then more soil on or around as needed.
The little spout on the side of the pots is where you put the water - so you are root watering which is healthier than watering from the top. And the expandable soil is coconut coir - no nutrient value at all - so if you do use it - need to feed regularly! Those little pump bottles are smaller versions of what we used for alcohol in hospitals and doctors offices - still used today in many places. Use it for eye makeup remover and make up removed with your cotton balls or squares.
We take our hanging baskets of flowers and set them in a pan of water. It absorbs really good from the bottom and doesn’t run through and out, quickly, eroding the soil. Doesn’t take too long and you’ll be amazed how well the pot holds water if done in the morning keeps flower roots damp and also you can add the fertilizer and do two jobs at once. Love it!
I saw online about using the canvas bags in your deep freezer to hold and separate your foods and then you don't have to freeze your hands off when you are digging through the freezer! I do use them and it's one of my favorite ideas !
skip the floral foam (all that toxic) and use museum putty (or DT's version of it) instead. It works like a charm and it's not taking up valuable space like the foam or the noodle
The flower pots are not for overflow.. you put your water in the side hole and your plants pulls water from the bottom as needed.. it helps the roots grow deeper and prevents over watering
I am a gardener. I can tell you no garden gloves keep out water out. Instead, I purchase dipped work gloves. They work better for gardening, and the added protection helps against thorns and ( eww) creeping crawlers.
If you pour the water on the expandable soil and let it sit and soak in and expand, it's so easy. I bought cat grass that comes with a small disc of expandable soil and by letting it soak up the moisture it completely filled the container it came with.
I keep the plastic mats where I store my craft supplies, and whenever I start a project I will put one down to protect the counter top. And, I can pick it up and move my project off the table easily. I love putting them down when my grandchildren are playing with play dough!
Another great idea for those candy jars with lids - outdoor cups for kids to keep bugs out of their drinks while they're doing all the kid things. You could even write their names on the cup or draw flowers, ladybugs, dragonflies, etc on the lid to distinguish whose lid it is!
Hopefully when I head out to Dollar Tree today I can find those glass soap dispensers. I love that idea, no more plastic and just refill. BTW, you're rocking that beautiful hair down, you're such a pretty lady. AND...your son's artistic ability is out of this world! Love how you're so supportive and hung it up showing that momma bear pride!!!! ❤ya girl, and all that you bring to the table!!!
@Andrea Jean Cleaning well I only speak the truth, but...TY💖 ohhh, and another thing, yes, I remember MTV, I probably graduated around the time you were born and my daughter was born 1988, we had MTV on the television just to have music playing in the house throughout the day 😁. Take care honey and I can't wait till your next wonderful video ❤️
You can write on your glass bowls with a sharpie. When you wash the bowl, the writing will wash off. I find it handy to keep track of what is in the bowl, then it will not go bad before I use it.
Hey so the cutting board idea is great, but I use dish drying mats under my coffee pots, under the pet food and water bowls, and under out counter top ice maker. They absorb all liquids, just wash them like once a week with your towels and you can get so many cool patterns to look at, unless of course that would trigger some folks in a uncanny valley way.... But, this was my daughter's idea. She also got us to use empty tissue boxes as ways to store old plastic grocery sacks for the kitty litter clean up or for those small trash cans we all seem to have. She had us try this like 10 years ago and now she's 25 and we still do this. I miss my kiddos being little,,, aaaaahhhhh memories.
The lotion bottle/ dispenser that you don’t like I think is actually suppose to be for fingernail polish remover. Or at least that is what we use ours for. Love your hair!
We use to use it in the dog grooming salon for the ear cleaner solution. Just use a cotton ball to push down, and no need to pick up and over pour. If you need need a little more give it one more pump.😊
I bought the Betty Boop T-shirt from Dollar tree and washed it twice so far and it has held up. I have no issues. I love your videos. Keep up the great work. 👍🏼
I love the lotion pumps for liquid makeup remover, acetone, rubbing alcohol, etc. Simply place your cotton ball or alcohol remover pads at the top, press a couple times, then clean with that!
I love so many ideas but the cutting board idea was genuinely brilliant. I will definitely use it to move appliances around frim now on. I believe ive come up with another use as well. I have some excess refrigerator shelf liner that I use under the kitties litter boxes. This would be so much more affordable with three to a package!
👍 My tip-after you clean toilet bowl using toilet brush, flush toilet & dunk dirty toilet brush in new clean water, then flush a 2nd time. Removes yuckiness from brush.
Great tips! For the whoopee cushion, I like to stick it just under my son's door and step on it, laugh like a banshee, then run away. It is so unexpected, but we are a pranking family so they are used to it by now. Hahaha.
I appreciate that you try things out first and tell us the good, the bad, and the ugly. I love the glass soap dispensers. I saw some similar to those that were top line expensive just a few days ago.
Andrea Jean 💥Almost as fun as your videos are the comments everyone makes! Its so entertaining for sure. You are a total crack up, and everyone of us is so dang serious and probably excited to share their/our tips, ideas. And sometimes those correcting or telling you and everyone the REAL/only way something is used! I'm so amused - like a product is ONLY designed for one idea, use and DO NOT deviate from said way. Cracking me up - That you are getting folks cleaning, excited about cleaning and trying new ideas and also most importantly, thinking outside The Box. Love your story, brilliant ideas & smashing it all! For my morning fun, trying to relax after the news and all the drama I watch a video of Robin Williams doing anything & one of your videos - and now I add reading some comments! Works for me- a lighter, brighter day. 😁
Thanks, Andrea, you have super good proven ideas for cleaning, organizing and beautifying the homes. A happy home starts with love, and then a clean home is essential to feel well taken care of.
The Velcro works well in cabinet drawers and can often be found in small packs at $tree or double sided tape whichever you prefer. Small squares at each corner does the trick.
On the compact diet. I have used it for startinn seeds. If you read it makes 3 quarts of soil so I just poured 3 quarts of water in a container, dropped the soil in and walked away for about 30 minutes. When I returned the soil was moist and fluffy. Once seeded I had sprouts in a week. I am very happy with this product.
Our dollar tree store has Revlon lipsticks! Only 3 shades of red - but wow! Talk about turning it up! Also it had some matte lip gloss ( similar to the matte long- stay lipsticks). I tried one, and it wasn’t long lasting- but pretty good for $1.25!
The pump bottle is 'for' nail polish remover, but I also use them for micellar water and toner. The big bottles stay in the closet and these little bottles take up less vanity room.
The little plastic pump bottles...I was told they were for nail polish remover. You pump some to the top and let your nail soak for a bit in the pool. I have never bought or used these. But I did ask someone of the younger generation who told me. Because I had no idea! lol
Just a couple ideas. I use the pump bottle with polish remover. Using a cotton ball, push, and the remover saturates the cotton ball without dripping. I also use it in the craft room for alcohol. If you remove eye makeup with baby oil, the pump bottle works great for that, too! I had my hubby cut a piece of scrap 2×4" to fit behind my cutlery divider to keep it from sliding back. Custom fit.
FYI...that is NOT a lotion pump! It is actually a dispenser for nail polish remover or recently I purchased one used it as a great Micellar water facial cleanser dispenser. It works great with a quick pump onto a cotton ball while sitting at my vanity doing my makeup.😊
For the utensil drawers I put in a thin organizer tray and put rarely used utensils in it. At first I cut a box to shape but one day I found the perfect size tray.
I use these to tape my watercolor projects to dry. I can move it over to a shelf and store. Plastic cutting boards are available most of the time in a 3 pack for $1.25. I check out my DT every week here in town and the one in the next row over too. Kathleen Blando Matthews, NC
Great ideas. I was at my local store a couple of hours ago and didn't see any of these things. I have used the cutting mats to line my wire shelving though to keep things from falling over.
Your hair looks so lovely & you always brighten my day with your money saving & cleaning hack videos, particularly the "other uses" for dollar tree items. Despite my issues, you help in ways you don't even know :) Thank you!
Another item that's a thumbs down at Dollar Tree is LAs Totally awesome foaming bathroom cleaner with bleach. It does not foam at all and has no smell, I think I paid 1.25 for a bottle of water. Just wanted to give that tip and thank you for all your tips. I'm always looking for new hacks to try! 🙂
I didn’t grow up watching MTV but I did grow up watchung Captain Kangaroo. 😂 On those plant pots at Walmart the spout at the bottom is not only for drainage but also for watering your plants from the bottom up so the soil on top doesn’t get displaced and expose roots. I don’t need another back brush but I do need something to apply lotion/moisturizer on my back. Do you know of anyplace I can get one? Wow, this really was packed with great tips, tricks, and hacks!!! Thank you! ❤
I like the hydrogen spray bottle. As for the problem with the moving flatware drawer. You can always buy dollar tree wood box or scrap wood ( cut down) to make a divider. Looks better and no wasted space. I know you consider yourself not much of a crafter, but don't worry, there's a little in everyone.
"why would we actually use things for what they're intended for? That's boring..." 😅 The bath brush idea sounds promising. I also want to try the Nu Finish. The clarity on the shower doors was impressive. And I love the blue 2-tiered tray you made. It looks real nice. 👍
Just an fyi, I use that lotion dispenser as my fingernail polish remover. Definitely worth it for that. I bought it when it was $1.00. It works great!😀
Suggestion: when transferring items from a product bag/box to a storage container cut the name of the product off the packaging tape it on the top of the bowl.
Andrea! I got 3 of those pump bottles for my diy first aid kit. I filled them with alcohol, betadine and hydrogen peroxide. Leakproof and perfext to pump an individual cotton ball or round with what you need. Just be sure to keep the peroxide in a closed pocket or cover it with contact paper. Light will break it down.
The dollar tree planter hole is also for watering. Use the hole and you won’t overwater your plant. When it’s dry it is time to water. It is actually better to water plants from the bottom.. also the gloves are cute but meant for pruning only because they are cloth and definitely not waterproof. Love your channel.
Loved all of your tips but my fave is the back brush to clean the lint! I also liked how you stacked the bowl with the ramekin for the chip and dip tray. The bowl is so much bigger than most trays😊. Also I love your hair down! So pretty!❤
Favorite hack was the back scrubber to clean the bottom of fridge and the lint from they dryer! ; ) You videos are just the BEST! Loved seeing your hair down 😃
Andrea Try Resolve carpet cleaner the foam one. Do small area at a time, spray grout line leave for 5 minutes. I use a small scrub brush, you don’t need to use a lot of scrubbing power. Scrub and wipe it up it is amazing. I tell everyone about this. Well worth it.. enjoy
The lotion pumps might work well for nail polish remover. I bought polish remover in a pump bottle, loved it, and wouldn’t you know I haven’t been able another one. I’ll try these $ Tree pumps.
I used that soil I broke it in little pieces and wet it, I like it! I live near a lake and citronella sticks keeps bugs away in summer time. Double sticky velcro for draw trays to stay in place.
I have used the year car wax on my bath counters for years. One is original-we built this house 49 years ago-and people think that counter is new because of the shine. 7 kids used that bathroom too.
The GLO Bluetooth speaker (the blue & white one, behind the one picked in the video) is actually a good speaker! I've had mine for a year and it has been more easily detectable than other Bluetooth items I've had. Give the GLO a try.
I have a suggestion for a laundry detergent. My DIL always used Tide, but when she started shopping at Aldi she found that the Aldi brand "Tanquil" worked just as good as the Tide. Especially, getting out stains in her kids clothes. I tried it and she was right! I don't remember the price, but it is definitely cheaper than Tide.
The plastic mats are also great for pattern pieces. When I was making masks for my family during the covid plague, I would make pattern pieces from those plastic mars.
Wow! I have recently found your channel and when I say the family loves it too, I am not kidding! You are entertaining and informative all at once. There are more adjectives to describe your vibe, hilarious, (that whoopie cushion!), useful, kind, smart! Wow, just a 10 all around Andrea! Keep on keepin on! And I too grew up watching MTV, back when they actually showed videos!
I recently watched and today’s days old video where they took a canning jar and placed it on their blender to make an individual smoothie or other mixed Drink. The mason look drink glasses with the handle would be awesome to do this with
the expandable garden soil is a great product. i use about 20% more water that the instructions recommend and leave it sit over night or even longer. you also probably needed a larger pot for that chunk you had. give it a try again.
I like the back brush idea to use under the fridge and laundry room. NEVER using another in the shower again. I recently got an abscess on my back which I’m still treating. How, I asked??!! I was told it could be from an ingrown hair or a clogged pore…TMI?? Heck, let me continue…I do not have hair on my back! Clogged pore? I very indignantly told the doctor, “I shower DAILY, it’s not like I live in Appalachia!!” I mentioned I use a shower brush and he said, you might want to throw it away and buy a new one…uh oh. If I do that…never using one on my back again 😳
I use my leaf blower to blow out dust and dirt, then vacuum. I also use it to blow the dust bunnies out from under my bed. I blow it toward the far wall and vacuum it up
Please don’t underestimate the gardening gloves. I keep a pair on top of my refrigerator to use in the freezer. I also have a pair on top of my large freezer. They come in so handy & your hands don’t get frozen trying to put away groceries. or get something out. Please try it!😊
@@AndreaJean Thank you, Andrea Jean. I forgot to mention what else I do. I like to eat a pint of ice cream. I use the garden gloves for my hands. What I do first, is turn the ice cream container upside down & put a soft drink cozie on it. My hands stay warm while I’m eating it, & the cozie keeps it from falling out too quickly.😊
Hi Andrea, you can use those plastic pump containers for your cleaning solutions. Easy and accessible for small areas where you can use a paper towel or cotton ball. Nail salons use those bottles for rubbing alcohol for their stations.
Thanks Andrea Jean💥💥 at my Dollar Tree yesterday, I got those Linen smelling little canisters for my trash can & I stumbled (along with all the other shoppers) onto the fabulous glass Pure Soap containers - I totally love them. I got it for my Airbnb but a little fearful that folks will not do well with glass - might have to put in MY own bathroom. 😁 thanks for always showing such very cool ideas to all your peeps DT Lady aka Aldi Lady aka Andrea Jean.🌟
09:45 UPDATE on the $Tree Toilet brush craft: My multitool did NOT cut the wire but it did work as a wrench and I was able to pull one side of the rounded brush out of the stem. I have not yet used it, but I plan to breaking out the duct tape and wrapping the tip with strip AND trimming the bristles since they will be more effective in our drier a little shorter. Will update when I actually get around to using it. But we definitely need to so hoping to get this done as a drier fire is not in our future. no, no way is that happening here. TFS
Hi Andrea. I love watching your videos. I want to let you know that the item that you used as a "lotion pump", is actually used to pump nail polish remover. It works quite well when used it for that purpose.
Another great video! The best was to see your 7 yr old son's artwork! You definitely have a budding artist in the making there! Encourage that ability! LOVE your advice on what to buy/not buy at Dollar Tree too. My favorite thing today was the Comet grout cleaner and the shower glass cleaner...good to know! I've never used the expanding soil, but wondered if maybe it needs to soak for a bit and then might break up easier? I bought a lunch tray (like used in school lunch rooms) to put under my coffee maker. It has a lip which is nice, plus it washes up very easily after the spills and it's large enough that I can place a little bowl of sweeteners or tea bags on it as well.
Those containers you used for lotion is really for fingernail polish remover....isn't it? At least that is what I use mine for. Never thought it was for lotion.
The plastic pump containers that you tried with lotion, I actually found in the section with nail polish. I believe it's great to use for finger nail polish remover. It works great for this use !
I use the lotion pump for rubbing alcohol and face serums. It's easier to use a cotton ball and press on the pump than to pour liquid on the cotton ball.
Fabulosa. Best stuff made. Can be used with magic erasers. As far as the banging kitchen silverware holder…try adding another low profile basket to back f drawer to hold weird size things like citrus peelers.
I wanted to comment on the little pump bottle that was used for lotion in this video. I put nail polish remover in it and use a cotton ball to remove my nail polish.

What a super tip on the car wax/shower door polish!!!Gonna give it a try. Thanks!
I use rain-x on my shower doors, it works AMAZING. Just a friendly tip i wanted to share with everyone..😊
Yep me too it’s great
The best!
Toilet brush could also clean a fan in between the slates on a floor or desk fan
does dollar tree have rain x
Rain-x for the win but I am going to try the Nu-finish. I don’t even use armorall on my vehicle it will eventually dry out the material on your dash and doors. Pledge furniture polish is better.

Yes, the plastic pump is for nail polish remover. Place a cotton ball on top and push to wet the cotton ball. Great little tool.
Or alcohol
I use it for all those things.
I put hydrogen peroxide in one too
I use the pump for mu face toner or micellular water and it works great!
The little spout on the side of the pots is where you put the water - so you are root watering which is healthier than watering from the top. Yes, Rebecca, I was gonna comment on the plant pots too about watering down there at the "spout"- you beat me to it!
Love it!

Great tip!
skip the floral foam (all that toxic) and use museum putty (or DT's version of it) instead. It works like a charm and it's not taking up valuable space like the foam or the noodle
What is the DT version? Thanks!

Great tip Denise ❤️❤️ I will come up with something clever for you 🎉
I like the hydrogen spray bottle. As for the problem with the moving flatware drawer. You can always buy dollar tree wood box or scrap wood ( cut down) to make a divider. Looks better and no wasted space. I know you consider yourself not much of a crafter, but don't worry, there's a little in everyone.
He he love it Jennifer!
Plastic pump is better used with cotton ball and liquid, such as witch hazel, sea breeze, or toner. Love it. No opening a bottle to use contents
I think that bandaid holder would be good for gum-sticks. It seems like they would stay fresher.
Ohhhh yes!!
"why would we actually use things for what they're intended for? That's boring..." 😅 The bath brush idea sounds promising.
I also want to try the Nu Finish. The clarity on the shower doors was impressive.
And I love the blue 2-tiered tray you made. It looks real nice. 👍
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I literally subscribed right after that comment. Lol love her! 🤭😊
The thing you put lotion in is for nail polish remover and works amazing using cotton balls to pump out just the right amount.
the citronella sticks work great I've used them for the last 2 years, and I live in the country in Missouri... 😂😅
The car wax will also help the soap scum from sticking as much and it works to repel the soap from the shower walls
For grout, try lysol toilet cleaner and brush it with a kitchen brush. It’s amazing and smells great!👍🏼😍
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I use the cream container for my face cream, and my sunblock cream and it works perfectly because it is the perfect amount that I need.
My favorite was the cutting mats under the coffee maker.
I'm not good with plants. Lol. But I do have 13 big rescued dogs in my house. It's fun keeping my house clean. Lol
Wow! I am impressed Melissa 😍
The container you use for hand lotion I use with nail polish remover.
Luxury dollar tree products most of the time are very good.
Lotion pump ? We use them for make-up cleaner or nail polish remover...something you use a cotton ball with.
The dollar tree planter hole is also for watering. Use the hole and you won’t overwater your plant. When it’s dry it is time to water. It is actually better to water plants from the bottom.. also the gloves are cute but meant for pruning only because they are cloth and definitely not waterproof. Love your channel.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loved all of your tips but my fave is the back brush to clean the lint! I also liked how you stacked the bowl with the ramekin for the chip and dip tray. The bowl is so much bigger than most trays😊. Also I love your hair down! So pretty!❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Mine too been trying to figure out a way to clean it now I know
Favorite hack was the back scrubber to clean the bottom of fridge and the lint from they dryer! ; ) You videos are just the BEST! Loved seeing your hair down 😃
Awesome! Thank you!
Andrea
Try Resolve carpet cleaner the foam one. Do small area at a time, spray grout line leave for 5 minutes. I use a small scrub brush, you don’t need to use a lot of scrubbing power. Scrub and wipe it up it is amazing. I tell everyone about this. Well worth it.. enjoy
Thanks for the tip!
The lotion pumps might work well for nail polish remover. I bought polish remover in a pump bottle, loved it, and wouldn’t you know I haven’t been able another one. I’ll try these $ Tree pumps.
The plastic containers are for nail polish remover or makeup remover. Well worth it for those type of products
I used that soil I broke it in little pieces and wet it, I like it! I live near a lake and citronella sticks keeps bugs away in summer time.
Double sticky velcro for draw trays to stay in place.
Great tip!
That expandable soil is AWESOME, I buy as much as I can when they get it in!! Soak it in a bowl for awhile before use, then fluff with your fork!!
Thanks for the tip!
Nu finish has been around for eons lol and I never thought of using it in the shower !!! I'm trying it 😊😊❤❤
Hope you like it!
Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
Shannon from Skip to my Life uses thin Dollar Tree placements or their opaque flimsy cutting boards to move kit appliances around on the counter.
I use the plastic pump for my skin care products. Especially useful when traveling.
The little pump bottles are.great for nail polish remover. Use a cotton ball right on the top no spills!
Bleach eats the grout. Use dawn dish liquid
Thank you for such kind words Stella ❤️❤️❤️
Another great video💖Yes, 100% avoid them if you live somewhere with red ants. They eat right through the cloth gloves. Found out the hard way
Great tip!
Pumps for nail polish remover. Works great
Expanding soil works well if you just soak it in a bowl and let it absorb the water before you break it up
I recently watched and today’s days old video where they took a canning jar and placed it on their blender to make an individual smoothie or other mixed Drink. The mason look drink glasses with the handle would be awesome to do this with
the expandable garden soil is a great product. i use about 20% more water that the instructions recommend and leave it sit over night or even longer. you also probably needed a larger pot for that chunk you had. give it a try again.
❤️❤️❤️
The lotion pump is great for eye make up remover, nail polish remover, Micellar water, etc.
I blow it toward the far wall and vacuum it up
You could make a pillow out of the tee shirt if you want to keep the print.
The blue bowl, white bowl and plate to serve chips and dip.
Please don’t underestimate the gardening gloves. I keep a pair on top of my refrigerator to use in the freezer. I also have a pair on top of my large freezer. They come in so handy & your hands don’t get frozen trying to put away groceries. or get something out. Please try it!😊
Thanks for the tip!
Thawing to quickly
Hi Andrea, you can use those plastic pump containers for your cleaning solutions. Easy and accessible for small areas where you can use a paper towel or cotton ball. Nail salons use those bottles for rubbing alcohol for their stations.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I use it for polish remover, make up remover, and for my apple cider vinegar I use as a toner.
The hair! 😍
And big yes on the original MTV, great HS memories 😊
The plastic pump containers that you tried with lotion, I actually found in the section with nail polish. I believe it's great to use for finger nail polish remover. It works great for this use !
We love the citronella sticks… We take them every year when we go camping,
(RV camping).
Outside of course 😊
They really work!
That is awesome!
