    To transfer thick liquids:
Pour into a gallon ziplock bag
Cut a amall bit of the corner off.
Squeeze back the liquid away from the cut corne.
Stuff the cut side into the bottle.
Squeeze the bag, dispensing it in a big gloop.

I used Zout decades ago. A hospital nurse clued me in that zout was originally created for hospital use to clean bodily fluids out of bedding. Before I was made aware of hydrogen peroxide to remove blood stains,(pre internet), I used zout. What a blast from the past! Thanks

The reason you might consider using the makeup brush cleaner spray is so your brush doesn't get completely soaked with liquid; brushes would need to dry with the bristles pointing downward or else water can collect in the metal-colored collar and cause it to come un-glued, OR if the collar holding the bristles to the handle actually IS metal -- it could rust. The spray just might be more sanitary -- I try to clean my makeup brushes after each use... but sometimes I'm lazy.

You briefly mentioned condiment containers. We shopped at Costco and got the very large Dove Daily Conditioner. (It comes with a pump top.) Unfortunately, it eventually gets to a point where I cannot pump any more out. So, I got the Dollar Tree condiment bottles. After emptying the Dove into a condiment bottle, it has been so much easier to get the conditioner out. And (yes, there's an and), because I have a tiny shower with only a towel rod, I no longer have to keep the huge Costco Dove bottle upside down on the rod (which I had to fumble to open, struggle to get any out, and fumble to close up again), and I don't have to trip over a new bottle (which I think is way too heavy for the rod) in my tiny shower. Win win! I would, however, recommend putting some sort of gel-type stickers, caulk, or something on the outside to keep it from slipping through wet hands. Question: will hot glue burn through the thin plastic of the condiment containers?? Please let me know if you can. Thank you.

To make using a funnel transfer of thick liquids easier, stick a skewer through the funnel neck. It also works for sauces in bottles with narrow necks h such as steak sauce). A great homemade washer cleaner recipe: Mix an equal measure of baking soda, OxiClean (any brand works), 20 mule team borax and washing soda in a large container. Use a quarter cup of the powdered mix to clean your washer using hot water on a quick wash cycle. Do this weekly! I wish you luck on launching a product line!

    • @CallmeGNana
      @CallmeGNana Рік тому +5

@@martasplace6414 Sodium carbonate. (Different than sodium bicarbonate) Arm and Hammer makes the brand I buy. It is usually found in the Walmart laundry aisle, Lowes or on Amazon. Read directions., keep it in a waterproof container marked clearly so as not to mix it up with bicarbonate. I leave mine in the original container and store it in the top of my laundry cupboard. Back in the day before commercial detergents were available women made their own from ashes. According to what was burned, you got either Sodium carbonate or potash (potassium carbonate) both are forms of lye. They are very similar and both are used in soap making and cleaning agents.
DONOT confuse potash with caustic potash (caustic lye or sodium hydroxide) which is another alkali used to make soap.
The thing combination of baking soda, oxiclean, washing soda and borax for laundry is it only takes about 2-3 tablespoons for a large load. It softens your water, and leaves laundry smelling fresh without heavy perfume.

Oh! Another unexpectedly awesome product at Dollar Tree is the aluminum foil. 40 sq ft for $1.25. Is it thin? Of course! But not in a bad way at all. First, there’s no metal tear bar which I love because how many times have I nicked my knuckles on that thing with other brands??! 🤨 The sawtooth cardboard is enough to give you an even cut every time. Second, I found it actually easier to maneuver when using it to line baking sheets. Try it, I’d love to get your opinion!

The makeup brush cleaner works great to remove makeup from clothes -place a paper towel under the the fabric - thoroughly spray and dab. repeat as needed. Also, for the price of $1.25 - to clean your brushes, pour a little into a ramekin size or smaller container, dip the brush and dab and swirl. Rinse under water -squeezing from the base to the tips to push the dirty water out and keep repeating the process with clean brush cleaner until water runs clear. Also a "magic eraser" type sponge will greatly speed up the brush cleaning process, just running your brushes over a dry or wet sponge after each use gets a tone of makeup out.

A long time ago, I got Raga Muffin brand muffin mix for 10 cents a box. Our budget was crazy tight but I took $10 of the grocery money and bought up a variety of their flavors. Added an egg, a bit of milk and made pancakes. One bag was enough pancakes for my two little boys for breakfast before school. I bet Martha Washington mix would work. I honestly do not know how young families afford groceries.

Tip for those with front loaders; every month to few months depending on how often you wash, You must drain the water. There's a small door on bottom of washer. There's a rubber line you unplug and drain water from. #2 Keep that door open after every wash #3 when cleaning washer make sure you get a paper towel or rag and lightly pull open the rubber and wipe down all around after doing those washer cleaning tabs. I promise you, your washer will stay cleaner longer along with cleaner clothes. friends and family have all asked how I get my clothes smelling and looking clean. It all starts with maintaining your washer.

A tip that's been around for awhile is with a tension bar across the top of your sink cabinet for cleaning products with sprayer heads. I tried this but couldn't put too many bottles on the bar without it falling. A great solution to that, my husband got a copper pipe along with some bracket mounts for the side walls and viola success! It's solid and I can get all my spray bottles off my cabinet floor.

I recommend you put one of those items in your lower level that tells you the humidity level/temp/atmospheric pressure and monitor it to see what is your "normal". Since you say your washing machine and your bathroom have odor issues it may be you really need to keep your fan on all the time to keep the moisture circulating/moving out of the house?
Maybe upgrade to a very strong bathroom fan that actually expels the air to outside?
Do you have moisture show up on your inside windows too?
    Condensation?
My folks built a house they designed and lived on a lake and had moisture issues from the springs on the property which weren't discovered until construction was completed. Water seeps and before you know it you have damp carpet, wood trim...not wet but not dry either. They had put in the best quality windows for 4 season living so the house was very tight and well insulated thereby trapping the moisture that was seeping in (and this is before you take a hot shower or boil some pasta!)
Their solution was to keep their central air fan on all the time then in winter turn on heat and in summer turn on ac. Don't have the fan cycle on and off, just have it "on" all the time. They in addition had ceiling fans in each room (other than the bath and kitchen) and so had those going on their lowest setting too just to maintain air circulation. Maybe even look into installing a heat pump, you get the idea. For the condensation they opted to wipe the windows each morning and to if needed run small desk fans (but that is probably over the top!) They had a real fixation on their miles and miles of beautiful wood trim. Folks these days would likely just paint it white in an enamel paint and be done with it.
My dear old dad was a building super/facilities manager for a fortune 100 corporation HQ in St. Paul for 3 decades so had the training and experience that I would trust. Since you have a basement and are on the water I would definitely address this before you have visible damage or black mold showing up. I know folks who are within shouting distance of a creek yet still needed to add drain tile to their basements....Best to you and yours!

That white tray with the scalloped edges works also well under the large round chips and salsa tray, brings it up a notch or two

A gadget I love and use alot is called a smart funnel. It clasp on to the bottom bottle and the upside down bottle with a funnel in between. Use it to transfer shampoo, lotions, etc into a trial size bottle; or and almost empty ketchup, etc into a new ketchup bottle to get every drop. Hook it up, walk away, then come back later and ta-da...done!

The hair supply section is awesome. I have long hair and I spend way too much on hair supplies so this is helpful.

BEST way to fill another pump type jar from the original pump that is very quick and easy……is to PUMP the product into the bottle you’d like as your FINAL beautiful glass and gold bottle….. it’s quick, and yeas I will admit it does tire delicate hands out but…. that’s why we have spouses or a friend with stronger hands. It works and I encourage you to try it and save a ton of time and a huge mess!!!!

For the cleaning of makeup brushes and liquid eyeliner that has clumped.... Use the makeup remover rags that are washable. I use just a bad of soap to clean the rag by using a scraping motion after wetting the rag and then rub the left hand side and right side on each other. Should come clean quickly, both the make up rag and the brushes. Just depends how long between cleanings.

Hi! I just wanted to say that I love Zout! I have tried them all, the pretreatment sprays out there over the years and always come back to Zout! I usually find my Zout at Walmart for around $4. I have had a teenage son and a husband who was a garbage man and Zout took care everything I would fine on their clothes!
    Love you videos!

Try the stain test in 2 separate washings so we are sure that the combination of the 2 spot removers didn’t do the cleaning.

My biggest pain point is how to make use of vertical space. Specifically in kitchen cabinets. It's always such a pain to have to dig out a step stool/ladder to reach the stuff stored on the highest shelves. I've seen shelves you can install that pull down, but they are VERY expensive and typically require a fair amount of work to install. I would love to see you make something that installs quickly on an existing shelf, could maybe even be adjustable to fit whatever size shelf you have, and would allow you to pull down whatever you have stored on that high shelf easily.
