I have waited for this too every notification on mondays had me anxious waiting for this and a blank playthrough is id love also because i loved this dlc
Ryan Hawkins this may be late, but it's the truth. During the Cold War, all personnel that had access to the launch codes had briefcases where they would have to unlock it and input the code and press a button and they would launch. And to avoid having to remember a complex code that would take too long to launch the nukes, they decided to make the passwords all 0's.
The Barona Native I guess it didn’t really mater what the code was, so long as it was fast. Like how I can impress people by typing my passwords too quickly to follow, because my personal paranoia made me practice.
Asher Ketchup isnt there a way to uninstall dlc seperately? He could have reinstalled them seperately, i tried it with a cracked version for my cousin, i didnt install dead money, started the game got all the popups did sunny springs and installed dead money and got the popup.
Fun fact: Ulysses was cut content from the base game. He was to be a companion and he lived in Wolfhorn Ranch, outside Nipton. This was my favorite DLC but when I played New Vegas I was oblivious to the continuity within the game so I'm looking forward to how this plays out.
I always enjoyed how obsidian built up to this story with the clues in the vanilla game, and adding to it with the dlc in small, subtle ways. Lonesome road was the fitting end to the story of the courier.
@plaguedoctor460 The NCR and the Legion all watch your actions that will change your reputation, but only the flying robot boi will change your destiny forever.
It was nice to see obsidian studio give a nod to real world events. Between 1962 to 1977 during the cold war, the code meant to prevent unauthorised launching of the United States arsenal of Minuteman nuclear missiles was (apparently) "00000000" Yes that's right, 8 zeros! The permissive action link (PAL) code first came to light in 2004, after Bruce Blair, a former Minuteman missile launch control officer disclosed it in a column for the centre for defence information. According to Blair, the White House (under JFK) in 1962, ordered the codes to be installed despite objections from the US strategic air command which worried the extra layer of security would delay the launching of missiles in the event of an emergency. Nonetheless, official followed the orders and began phasing in the locks but all the while setting the "secret unlock code" to eight zeros. "The locks had been installed but everyone knew the combination and if you actually forgot it, it was written down on a checklist handed out to soldiers on the base" stated Blair. Sometimes, real life is WAY more scary than fantasy.Looks like in the fallout universe similar things happened except in this one the codes were left set at zero (or they had them reverted back) all the way up to 2077.
Anarchy Antz not surprising, I believe that there was stuff like that in Fallout 1 and 2 as well and since obsidian was founded by ex-Black Isle guys(the team who did Fallout, Fallout 2 and Project Van Buren aka Black Isle Fallout 3)
Exactly DCT. Like they have brought up since the early ones regarding "That Gun/ 2019 Detective Special" which links back to Fallout 1 and 2 as well as Fallout New Vegas (and of course a nod to Blade Runner). Actually I like all of either real world, pop culture and so on things all of the Fallout creators put in. Some like the nuclear code ones though you think are incredulous to the point of must be made up only to find are yeaaaah that's true is somewhat scary when you think about it. One of my favourites has to be the Y17 Harness guys saying "who turned out the lights" Dr Who reference in old world blues. I was hoping at some point to find some gas mask clad creatures saying "muuuuuuuuuumy! muuuuuuuuumy! Are you my mummy?" while chasing you down (another Dr Who reference).
Ryan Estes If I could time travel, I would take that knowledge and launch a nuke at Russia, starting nuclear war so we could actually LIVE IN THE FALLOUT UNIVERSE
I'll never forget my first experience with New Vegas. I picked up the Ultimate Edition (the one with all the DLC) in 2012 with no prior knowledge of the game. After completing Ghost Town Gunfight, the first thing I did was head for the quest marker closest to me. I skipped the warning message and entered the Divide at level 3 armed with nothing but an Armored Vault 13 Jumpsuit, a Weathered 10mm Pistol and a couple of Stimpak's. Long story short, I had to restart my game.
Of all the New Vegas DLC series you've covered, this is the one I waited for the most. I never went through anything so bleak & oppressive in all of my gaming years. Keep at it Oxhorn!
They should've programmed a function where you have a small chance of contracting botulism whenever you eat canned food, and your survival skill lower the chances even further
Fun Fact: The ArmCo company mentioned when asking EDE about reloading tools is quite likely a reference to the Armscor company whose U.S. office is located just west of Las Vegas. The company is known for their affordably priced yet medium quality cheap imported guns and ammunition. Their ammunition, .22 caliber in particular has developed a bad reputation for being about 10% duds. Fun Fact two: If you look up Armscor's U.S. location on a map you will see that in the Fallout universe it would be located just over the mountains west of Jacobstown and Red Rock Canyon in the town of Pahrump Nevada.
It's really odd seeing this DLCs sky so bright. The rest of the video is bang on by the way. I love how the intro captures the feeling of hopelessness, loneliness, and depression of the Lonesome Road. It's superb editing. You've really hit the nail on the head with this one.
Oxhorn, when Ulysses writes "You can go home" he means that Courier 6 may return to their place of origin. He didn't mean Vegas, which may have become the Courier's new home. The Courier still originated from some other place and Ulysses was clearly talking about that.
That doesn't make sense to me. What you say is true about the Courier's home, however his use of the word "can" makes it hard for him to mean "the divide" as the Courier's home. After all, that is where the Courier is headed already. "Of course I can go home--I am going home right now!" If Ulysses meant the divide as the Courier's home, he would have simply said, "Go home, Courier". His use of the word "can" leaves the impression that he is informing the Courier that he can do something that he is not currently doing, as if he haddn't considered it yet. Since the Courier is currently on the way to the divide, the home Ulysses must be referring to is Vegas. This is made more evident in future conversation with Ulysses, when he blames the Courier for being thoughtless.
Huh, I guess that does make a certain amount of sense. It just seems weird to me that Ulysses would give the Courier reassurance. I mean, what does he gain from telling the Courier that they can return to Vegas if they want to? Oh well.... That's not that important anyway.
+Andrew Klan Thanks, man! I actually based it off of my own name a bit, cause "Yan" is my real name and my surname starts with "Al-" and ends with "vich" (which is how one is supposed to read Al's name, only his family seems to have forgotten to put the ´ in "Yanković")
Thank you for this Lonesome Road episode, Oxhorn! Due to me aligning myself with the NCR, I didn't have as much dialogue options and I always wanted to learn more about the DLC. Keep up the amazing work my friend!
The Lonesome Road is one of my favorite Fallout DLCs, Hands down. The build up, the lonely feeling as you travel, the challenge of the enemies, the loot, all of it is awesome. I love how much history they put into our character. I am so excited for this series. I am going to love every episode!
Lonesome Road: An amazing DLC that tells the tale of two couriers, both with troubled pasts, both intertwined, both badasses, and both know of the Divide. I love Ulysses one of the best DLC characters other than the brains, and Joshua! Thanks Ox.
small bit of continuity error on developers part? I've always had this question too. Throughout all games The wasteland(s) seem(s) frozen in mid-day. People at work in office buildings, wives shopping at Super-Duper-Mart, citizens commuting through traffic or on planes etc.
Robert cross and his magic is how a voice like this is possible :) also apparently Because ulysses voice had to be so raspy roger cross had some problems with Voice acting him, i think
i wonder if Oxhorn finishes editing a considerable part of the episodes of a series before uploading or is it an edit and upload as it goes on. also if there's a dedicated script or just bullet points and if he works by his lonesome. either way, the fact that he works hard and meticulously shows and i admire him for it.

eljamaicano1 it’s a rather linear dlc, owb had a ton of side content to work with, this one is literally on a straight path, but it won’t be super short. But I doubt it will be longer than owb

P.S. Never bothered people with asking for it, I was a patient, good boy.
I love this DLC. I wish I could forget it all just so I could do a clean playthrough of it without knowing what happens. This DLC keeps me coming back to this game...I played through the game on xbox 360 no save editing or glitches at all originally. Looking back at it now it gives me some kind of strange nostalgia.
same
Aaaaaaamen that would be just awesome to get a completely blank playthrough.... just to relive my excitement for this awesome dlc.... even though i kinda missed the point the first time xD took me 3 more tries to get it xD
I have waited for this too every notification on mondays had me anxious waiting for this and a blank playthrough is id love also because i loved this dlc

You may laugh at that authorization code oxhorn, but that actually was the authorization code to launch the nukes from 1960-1990
Excuse me whatttttt
well yeah obviously youd want to launch the nukes fast if those ruskies attack
Passcode is: Passcode
Ryan Hawkins this may be late, but it's the truth.
During the Cold War, all personnel that had access to the launch codes had briefcases where they would have to unlock it and input the code and press a button and they would launch. And to avoid having to remember a complex code that would take too long to launch the nukes, they decided to make the passwords all 0's.
The Barona Native
I guess it didn’t really mater what the code was, so long as it was fast. Like how I can impress people by typing my passwords too quickly to follow, because my personal paranoia made me practice.
Imagine finding all the Ulysses clues before lonesome road came out, I’d be freaked out.
Dude! I totally forgot you were gonna do Lonesome Road. Awesome surprise Oxhorn, here's another happy subscriber!

Fun fact: Ulysses was cut content from the base game. He was to be a companion and he lived in Wolfhorn Ranch, outside Nipton.
This was my favorite DLC but when I played New Vegas I was oblivious to the continuity within the game so I'm looking forward to how this plays out.
He's you but stronger
Is there any more info on him as a companion? Does he just join the whole game then at some point he disappears leaving a trail?
I always enjoyed how obsidian built up to this story with the clues in the vanilla game, and adding to it with the dlc in small, subtle ways. Lonesome road was the fitting end to the story of the courier.

Are other missiles also tilted to the side?
Pretty sure they are
An ICBM can not support its own weight so yeah they all probably are.

"You can always go home"
I always took this to mean that no matter what path in the game you choose you can always come home to the Divide.
That Won Magnus wow u have made me take that a different way I just thought u can return to the wasteland
Ulysses is a courier and wanted to call the divide his home. Maybe it's his for of denial and grief. Maybe ptsd
They've gotten a lot better about computer system passwords since then thankfully.
Its a real thing in the Mojave
I think the scariest part is those missiles are titan twos, which by the late 60's were found to be dangerously unsafe and ineffective.
Best DLC I've ever played, hands down.
The Dog Agreed!
With elite Riot Gear, Red glare, Sierra scorched PA, Armor of the 87. tribe, Courier Duster, Ed-E 2.0, etc.

Hey ox the 0000000 launch code is actually a real life reference. For like 30 years the American missile silos actually had that as the password.

Ulysses: You and I are the ones who can walk these roads.
Courier 6: For the loot?
It's really odd seeing this DLCs sky so bright. The rest of the video is bang on by the way. I love how the intro captures the feeling of hopelessness, loneliness, and depression of the Lonesome Road. It's superb editing. You've really hit the nail on the head with this one.
ED-E is adorable.
Yan Alkovic you may be wrong sir, but you still win the game of having the best name and profile picture
I always thought there was more emphasis on "Can." As in the courier CAN go home because they still have a home to go to.
I was confused at first but then I remember the events at Big Empty that allowed the Courier to understand 8
Thanks Ox.

I have to wonder, why are there so many cars in drive in theaters if the War was early in the morning?
Gus Davis maybe they were open 24/7? And a lot of people wanted to get a movie in before work/school? Idk
small bit of continuity error on developers part? I've always had this question too. Throughout all games The wasteland(s) seem(s) frozen in mid-day. People at work in office buildings, wives shopping at Super-Duper-Mart, citizens commuting through traffic or on planes etc.

Here’s a question I want answered: why are weapons so different on the west coast? Lore wise, I don’t have the slightest clue.

Yes! Fallout's best loreman narratoring Fallout's most interesting DLC.
i wonder if Oxhorn finishes editing a considerable part of the episodes of a series before uploading or is it an edit and upload as it goes on. also if there's a dedicated script or just bullet points and if he works by his lonesome. either way, the fact that he works hard and meticulously shows and i admire him for it.

45 minuet minimum for Ulysses's dialogue.
When I first played Fallout New Vegas, I started the Lonesome Road dlc while my character was Level 3, not knowing anything about it other than it was a dlc....I walked out no less than Level 20, just to travel to Big MT immediately after and start the Old World Blues dlc, followed by traveling to the Sierra Madre Hotel.
