**Agatha All Along tune** Who’s been messing up the PR brand? It’s been H Saban all alooooooong! Who’s been making the Rangers bland? It’s been H Saban all alooooooong!
Ironic, the reason the Disney shows where so good is cause Disney didn't care at all for the show and let the showrunners do whatever as long as they stayed in budget
I expect if Disney still had their hands on the brand they would likely be screwing it up because Disney no longer seems to want to make good content and settle for identity politics instead and they would likely have the Red Ranger as a Mary Sue character type, being good at everything with no flaws! I hope Hasbro's ownership of the brand will inject new life into the property has they part ways with super sentei!
Haim Saban ruined the Power Rangers franchise by taking it back from Disney. He tried to bring back stuff from the 90's but it didn't work; instead it stifled the growth of the show. The super seasons for Power Rangers was a bad idea because it set the franchise behind Super Sentai. Nickelodeon they don't care about Power Rangers and barely promoted the show; I find it shady. Seasons being 20 episodes long feels weird. I want Power Rangers seasons to be longer and last for a year.
Is not like Disney cared about the franchise at that point either, but, at least someone with more care could have gotten it, or more in touch with what kids liked.
Disney never really liked the Power Rangers IP and tried to eliminate it at every turn. To them, it wasn't a real show like their other properties, it was little more than just an extended toy commercial. I remember seeing the actual Ban Dai toy commercials on their networks more often than promos for the actual show itself, and the show itself was put on a severely slashed budget and aired in the death slot on ABC Kids. The funny thing is, everything Disney got right about making Marvel media in the last decade, they got wrong with Power Rangers first.
Saban needs to understand that Bulk and Skull's success was not just due to slapstick humor, but the chemistry between them, and of course, between Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy. The characters evolution from bullies in MMPR to heroes at the end of In Space also played a lot. They're the ones who started the "I'm Spartacus" moment.
@@TokuWaffle this is why it worked so well during season 1 and 2 they were hate able but funny but by the end of in space they were heroes themselves assisting in what was to be the final battle despite having no powers, in that acpect they showed that they have the power too
He fired three of his stars in the second season (MMPR) for asking for more money. They worked 6 days a week for 6 months straight making $300 an episode. He raked in millions in merchandise and promotion deals all while allowing one of the stars to be bullied by crew members until he walk of the show (ZEO). But the show needs a strong moral core.
Haim Saban is also responsible for not just Power Rangers but several other 90s beloved shows as well. He did things dirt cheap though and cutting corners wherever possible, consequences and morality be damned because that's how he got these shows pitched in the first place. MMPR wasn't successful because it was some great Hallmark of creation, it was successful because it was cheap as dirt to produce. Almost everything came back as profit. He's the 90s Budget Show Genius for a reason. Sure, he raked in money later but he also spent it where he could, building this franchise up. The last two seasons of MMPR were NOT cheap, despite all the money it raked in. The problem is Power Rangers both as a franchise, legacy, and even as a production grew past his style of show running and producing a long time ago. He wanted to fall back into this old way because after Tzachor nuked the franchise from orbit, he panicked and simply didn't trust anyone. Especially since, as I can imagine, him and Tzachor were probably close.
@HaouMazin I mean season 1 wasn't that bad. And would have some good moments. Just they unloaded on the very kid show tropes alot in the neo seasons. Also how they basically don't respect most of the cast.
I think the problem with Haim Saban is he's to controlling, strict and stingy. He doesn't want to spend money to make a new footage to make the show better but he want to get a lot of money from the show. Not only that, the forced comedy duo in the series is unnecessary. Especially in the Nro Saban era, you can see how bad he handle PR series. Too much stock footage, unnecessary comedy duo, weird plotline. I don't think Haim really love the PR series, he just love the money the series produce. I think to make a good series, you must have a producer that also love the series and Haim is not one of them.
He reminds me of George lucas with return of the jedi, the first two prequels, and the sequels,(But was mostly Jj) he has the same probelm:he's to controlling.
@@jaredanacleto9239 Lucas had nothing to do with the sequels. Disney let their version of Lucasfilms throw away all of Lucas' thoughts about the direction of Star Wars and make trash instead.
If using Amit Bhaumik's Samurai Scenario, Power Rangers Samurai became better than Nick's Samurai (forcing for using Footage from Super Sentai's Counterpart from 2009, Shinkenger & using last name "Shiba" to Jayden & Lauren). Well, it's opinion (I got the source from Tokusatsu Channel in Indonesian)
Saban is like a less creative George Lucas. An outsider who had an underdog start in the entertainment industry, created a property that people really like. About twenty years later they return trying the recapture the lightning in a bottle they had, but they’re at a point where their franchise is better off in the hands of others.
@@austinreed7343 well she’s currently the president of Lucasfilm and there’s really no clear individual equivalent to that for Power Rangers at the moment. Kathleen has spent the majority of her film career as a producer though, having producing credit on some of the best and most beloved movies of all time as well as some that were bad or just not great. So the two that meet that requirement are Jonathan Tzachor (producer for Zeo-Wild Force and Executive Producer for Samurai and Megaforce as well as directing some episodes in all those seasons) or Charles Knight (a producer for SPD-RPM)
Saban needs to understand that kids aren't the only ones watching this show but adults that grew up with the show when you create a show that targets both audiences that creates longevity.
I would really love a Power Rangers meta-season, where Haim Saban himself plays the main villain. That would be pretty fitting, because he practically ruined his own show.
Kinda like the MCU. Each movie had a its own unique villain, but Thanos was the villain of the entire universe. So, it would be interesting to see that since each Power Rangers season had its own unique villain, there would be a huge a crossover thing with every Power Ranger and Haim Saban was the main villain of the whole franchise.
@@doomsday3659 true but that would need way too much story telling and probably remaking or restating some stories. What you said would be pretty cool tho
Interesting about the no connectivity between episodes rule. That was something Dino Charge had that I loved. Something that happened in one episode continued into the next, and then what happened next continued into the next episode. That's what made me love Dino Charge so early was that continuing storyline
@@JSmoothSoul it took *HIM* 3 years realise that because we can't used the same suit for 3 different Sentai Seasons (it's only works for Zyuranger only)
It worked before when Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy do it as they went from goofy bullies to police men to detectives to heroes when they rally up the townsfolks to stop the alien invasion with Astronema/Karone in Power Rangers In Space but it didn't work in Power Rangers Samurai and Ninja Steel. Stop reinventing the wheel and Think Saban!
Bulk and Skull grew with the cast. As the show got more serious, they matured too. In Samurai, they did a bad job making Bulk and Spike feel connected to the story. They were a sideshow
Glad to know I wasn't the only one thinking Saban ruined his own show. Maybe his repurchase of the show might have kept Disney from just cancelling the show but it didn't seem like he cared
Haim Saban seems to be still stuck in 90s. Everything he did just has damaged the brand. From allowing Nick to broadcast to checklist based on 90s tropes. But let's hope that Power Rangers improve in the 2020s
I agree, it's time to pick the right guy or gal to sustain Power Ranger and grow the ratings back up again in the Hasbro era. Also, make both Super Sentai and Power Rangers available to all.
Allowing Nick to broadcase? No one else wanted it as far as I know. He can't just deem which nertwok he wants and bam they have it. Had Nickelodeon not picked it up the franchise would have died when Disney dropped it. Not saying that excuses the drop in quality since then, but Nickelodeon picking it up is probably the only reason the franchise is still around to complain about.
Ever since Power Rangers returned to Saban it went downhill. Theme songs were terrible. Not catchy at all. Bad cast. And that legendary episode sucked as well. People complain about Disney, but Disney did a better job with Power Ranger than Saban and Hasbro.
I agree. I mean he did great with the post-Zordon era, but the way he trashed Super Megaforce specifically was heartbreaking, especially with The Legendary Battle
The show was never meant to be taken seriously, Haim Saban's sole purpose of the show was just basically advertisement to sell the toys, that's basically where the profit for Power Rangers was all about , the toys were selling
One of the best video's you have ever made. I have hung out with several ranger actors and no-one has anything good to say about dude. Rumor has it Fox was gonna pay the Ranger Actors for the 95 movie a million a piece. Haim thrue a fit and ended up only paying them 50K a piece. Dude was a tight wad and had too much of a 90's moral compass. Great Vid Boss!!!!
They're both stuck in the past. WWE Raw's ratings are in the shitter because people are tired of the same boring feuds like Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre, crappy storylines and shitty comedy skits while Haim Saban is just a greedy tool who just ruined his own show he just created!
100% agreed. To be honest Bulk and Skill annoyed me as a kid when I was young enough to watch MMPR, I just thought they were a waste of time. I agree Saban is the reason for the failure and I serious hope he never touches PR again.
To be fair they've kinda been doing that since Hasbro took over. IIRC they said that Dimensions in Danger was going to be a taste of what's to come for PR's new direction, and from BMs2 and what I've heard of DF (haven't seen it), I can see why
"You'll be surprised to learn who it is" Its saban. He didnt invite most of the cast for the 20th anniversary till last minute and he's been infamous for his budget cutting. "It was saban" Of course, BUT i didnt know he actually had so many formulaic rules in place. Which is weird because the best parts of Mighty Morphin was the 5 part green ranger arc in the first place. Turbo was literally saved by a cliffhanger ending.
Philip Kornstein I didn’t know about turbo ranger being considered as Power Rangers? Ironically, car ranger was chosen as Power Rangers Turbo. Gokaiger just couldn’t resist making the the reference.
@@haydenreviewscustomcombos Should have pick Turboranger as Power Rangers Turbo instead of Carranger since Carranger was a parody of Super Sentai genre. Haim did it before with Masked Rider by using Kamen Rider Black RX's footages from 10 years ago.
@@Isaac-gh5ku Turbo was made when they were doing the same series as was coming out at the time. This was a bad decision (Turbo being the prime example of this) because of thematic differences, but it also hurt the writing, as the Power Rangers writers weren’t sure what was going to happen in the Sentai. On the other hand, this style also created “In Space” (a space opera based on a cyberspace series), and RPM (just look up the writers reactions to learning what the Sentai he had to adapt was, it’s amazing).
I’ll always have respect for him for creating the franchise and the things he did in the early days to get the franchise going but he is clearly past his prime now and needs to take a step back
he didn't create squat it just copied Super Sentai and made it worse and cheaper. it took him 5 years of making multi millions to finally make a legit season In Space
Nah. He just bought the show into America. The only important thing he did was introduce Americans and westerner's to tokusatsu. All the credit goes to Shotrao isamori. (I hoped I spelled his name right)
Saban's treatment of Power Rangers reminds me of Carl Jung's "Terrible Mother" archetype; an over-nurturer who, in smothering her child, ends up stifling them to the point of hampering individuation and personal growth.
If I could I'd convince Hasbro to let me remake every neo-saban season. Including a proper Gokaiger based season. Probably involving time travel or something.

It’s funny how when Saban bought back PR and made Samurai, he thought that doing almost the opposite of what worked would work, including hiring a staff that didn’t care about the franchise at all
Well n0ot really since Hasbro just wants to speedrun the remaining contracts Saban signed when he was in control. It's why they pulled the seasons from Netflix when they could.
I think the worst part of Haim Saban's demands is that not all of them are inherently bad. Trying to cram them into a single episode, instead of spreading it out, definitely is.
I still don’t understand how the new saban era brought so many cool things to the franchise like the toys comics and movie, yet the show suffered so badly.
It's simple, the toys were cheapen Ed versions of the japanese toys so the work as there they just removed features as for the comics they were from boom studios who loved the franchise and weren't held back by the same rules if the TV series
This was a great video! Very informative and eye-opening. Let’s make it a cliche’ SAT question: Haim Saban is to Power Rangers as Vince McMahon is to the WWE.
Disney gived us RPM, the best season ever and Saban destroy everything directly after it… Did he controle the Disney Era ? I hope Hasbro will adapt Kamen Rider in a « solo Ranger » show I mean, they can easely manage that with the Morphin Grid and all the amazing Kamen Rider costumes and stuff and they can rework all scenes like they want because no Megazords fights, they can do What ever they want without Haim Saban behind
We got lucky, the few positives of the Disney era were due to the production team. The higher ups at Disney were notorious for meddling, either in budget, threatening cancellation, poor promotion, or scheduling.
Great video Este, you really show the damage that Haim and Nick has done to the brand. Also great job explaining that the current formula with adapting Sentai still works.
The original era of Power Rangers when on Fox Kids had a summer hiatus and new episodes would air at around 8am on a Saturday. That was way before DVR and streaming were a thing.
Yes. Saban definitely is responsible for the downturn of the franchise. Samurai was just awful, and while I'm not as down on Megaforce as many, it's certainly a contender for my top five least favorite seasons. I'm really hopeful for big things in the future when it comes to the franchise. Dropping the Sentai footage should afford them much more leeway when it comes to making a coherent plot and original stories. They can actually tailor make the lore for the season right down to the zords and the costumes. There's so many different interesting themes they can use as a basis now that they aren't really relying on the Sentai as a source. What I'd like to see is a few seasons that do what they did in some of the older seasons like theming it based off a movie reference (Starship Troopers for Lost Galaxy, Mad Max for RPM, etc.). I think it'd be pretty cool to see a season based around a Stargate-esque team.
Yes I agree, Shinkenger was a top 5 heck maybe even a top 3 super sentai series They had good characters, good episodes, interesting villains like samurai could have used those ideas to make samurai good but unfortunately they didn't
*Me before watching the video*: Let me guess it's Haim Saban isn't it? *Este reveals that it is Haim Saban*: I hate it when I'm right. It stinks, I really loved Dino Charge, Beast Morphers, & (so far) Dino Fury. Samurai was A-Okay at Best. It's no wonder why MegaForce (in GENERAL not just 1 Season) & Ninja Steel didn't turn out too well especially that one guy that is Jonathan Tzachor who I'm glad that he has left (hope he finds a better job though). Judd Chip Lynn is at least Competent yet when it comes to Dino SuperCharge & Ninja Steel (2 Seasons) I can tell the dude was struggling/trying-his-best. Hey, Saban, just either in-trust Power Rangers to someone else that isn't you (already rich as it is) or stop with the whole Dynamic Comedic Duo.
I think around 2010 or 2015 is when it started getting worse. Dialogue and fights were pretty bad. During Wild Force, Ninja Storm, and Dino Thunder, they not only had good theme songs, but the show felt more mature. In Space was pretty cool. Interconnectivity is what is needed, like in the MCU. As a kid, it was awesome seeing a bunch of red rangers team up, or Tommy Oliver return.
I love Gokaiger as a sentai series and my favorite one by far. you can imagine the disappointment I felt about super megaforce when it came out. it was so frustrating seeing a grand series go into a dark corner bro.
saban needs to either retire or quit, also i wouldn't be surprised if fans are starting to get sick and tired of power rangers being live action and relying on super sentai footage for fights
@@twilliamspro when he sold it to Hasbro he stayed on in a consulting role. I don’t know if he’s still in it today as that was a few years ago now, but like Este said, his style is still present. Hopefully Dino Fury is the start of Hasbro fulling taking the reins and no longer needing him.
@@modasher he must still be on the team in some regard, because his name is in the executive producer spot and SCG Power Rangers is still credited on Dino Fury toys.
it was still Saban forcing him to do those things. Johnathan is the only reason we had legit Power Rangers in the first place In Space through RPM was because of HIM bringing in legit themes and serous tones into the franchise
@@JSmoothSoul You must be thinking of Chip Lynn or something. Tzachor was a Sentai fanboy who hated when the writers wanted to deviate even slightly away from the source material for samurai.
Shit son I used to get up early and watch cartoons on Saturday morning. It's really messed it up is that they're not staying with the same rangers long enough.
I mean two of those requirements "two ground fights every episode" and "one megazord fight" Are pretty much also used in Super Sentai too. Even Kamen Rider has the "two ground fights every episode" rule in most shows.
True you all are right about the season I kinda liked samurai as a kid but megaforce was just bad for a season to me ninja steel I will say it isn't good or not that bad it just right there.
1:41 The Haunted Hathaways are like a middle sized version of "The Brandy Bunch" but half of the family is dead? Haim Saban is the guy that made Power Rangers the way it is. No denying that. However, after hearing the stories about him from some of the actors, he can some times be problematic!
God, now it makes so much sense looking back. Every episode of most of the series felt like an afterschool special and that didn't sit well with me (and I'm sure others too). This is why I'll watch the Sentai series over this altered series, MMPR will have a place in my heart but Saban really ruined everything by being inflexible.
Given the decline of other franchises like what happened to Disney during the Dark Ages, I don't tend to see the decline of franchises in popularity and ratings as the byproduct of one thing. I see it as a systemic collapse. Everything at once falls apart. The collapse started with Disney. www.inverse.com/article/28476-power-rangers-rpm-eddie-guzelian-disney Per this article, this was the hell that went into making RPM with Guzelian being dismissed from this in the middle of production. This was also Guzelian's first major project in live action mind you. If you remember, ABC family was the channel that aired RPM, not Toon Disney/Jetix. It's okay if you don't because you had to wake up at stupidly early times. Reasonably, the ratings sucked. Just because it's a good series does not mean you can escape the bad five AM time slot. Then you realize the only reason this series exists is because Bandai made them do it because of toy sales. Jungle Fury's writing was also under a troubled production. The 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike happened during production which screwed them over by needing them to find new writing staff. Jackie Marchand, a major writer of the Kalish era, participated in that strike which probably was why she was not the show runner for RPM. It seems Disney was always a problem when it came to Power Rangers since we saw budget disputes with the show runners as far back as SPD when they refused to pay for Sam to actually mean anything or Wild Force when the writers had to go to Bandai for Forever Red, hence why Serpentera was defeated by a flying motorcycle. Now, with that out of the way, let's get to the Neo-Saban Era. Yes, Saban has actively tried to recapture the 90s Power Rangers in an era where that doesn't work. There's a reason why Bulk was brought back for the show. At the same time, it's hard to imagine the day-to-day workings being directly controlled by Saban. If they were indeed controlled by Saban, then why does a member of the writing staff pin the blame on show runner Tzachor than Saban himself? If Saban controlled so much across all seasons, then why does a writer of Samurai and (part of) Megaforce James W. Bates finger point to Tzachor so much for the issues of Samurai and Megaforce? Sure, you could argue, and Bates does, that the time table given to them was unrealistic when it came to Samurai and it shows, but still. www.denofgeek.com/tv/power-rangers-samurai-lost-in-translation/ www.denofgeek.com/tv/power-rangers-megaforce-the-season-that-could-have-been/ www.denofgeek.com/tv/power-rangers-super-megaforce-what-went-wrong/ This isn't just a Bates issue. Ciara Hanna and Cameron Jebo in now lost No Pink Spandex interviews (thanks Adobe Flash dying) blamed Tzachor for their series's problems. Then again, this is just part of the picture. NDAs exist and burning bridges is also a fear in this industry. We don't have the full picture. To me, the decline of Power Rangers stems more from a cascade of mismanagement, contracts, and of course out of touch show runners than it does simply at Saban himself. Sure, he certainly holds a lot of the blame, but to pin it all on him sounds not right.
I almost thought you were going to mention Jonathan Tzachor or whichever Nick exec put in those show mandates but yeah, Haim has definitely had a negative impact on the series post-RPM especially with that checklist of requirements. No connection between episodes and the overuse of comedic duos has definitely hurt the modern shows and made them feel a bit repetitive.
As a Kid that grew up with the Jetix era I imediatly noticed how bad the NeoSaban era was. And from the beginning of the video it was allready clear to me that Saban was the problem. He should have never picked it back up in my opinion.
I mean Samurai, Megaforce, and Ninja Steel were pretty bad....Then we got some bangers like Dino Charge season 1....Then it crapped itself with that wtf ending...Then we got Beast Morphers....Until we got those musical segments...but all in all Beast Morphers was really good. Plot points left hanging aside. But....Dino Fury has been pretty good....so far.
I think even if Samurai, Megaforce or Ninja steel were good the ratings would still tank because of the hiatus. It just kills the momentum and everyone just forgets that the show is still on.
I think an RPM crossover in Beast Morphers would have worked because it would be a epic team up and maybe RPM Ultrazord and Beast X King Ultrazord in megazord fight.
It would have been really cool, but sadly very difficult to get the cast back together, especially seeing as how most of them now have highly successful acting careers.
You know, the 8 AM timeslot is later than what it was for a while on Fox, after the first few episodes it got moved to the before school time slots...it was at 6 in the morning near me and a few nearby schools started then which was irritating at the time
A simple case of a man who captured lightning in a bottle at the time and when he got it back, he refused to evolve with the times. Recently Hasbro has kinda been doing that with their seasons, though Saban is still involved in some way. I think it is the reason why Power Rangers has struggled, refusing to evolve with the times and just use the same formula over and over again.
Ever since Antonio being the only one interesting in Samurai Force, Power Rangers fell off the grid and died for me. Everything was ruined and nothing was interesting anymore. They couldn’t even make banger openings anymore, just meh rehashed ‘rangers together, ??? forever’.
I think that the show was more interesting when they had tommy as a teacher to the four rangers. And I also think that they need to do that again but with Justin turbo blue ranger. What do you think?
Haim Saban, the same guy who fired his actors over money and collectively ruined the show by making the series about one character drastically making the series worse.
I think the biggest thing with the no connecting episodes is that it hasn't let them build anticipation for future episodes. There's no thrill of "will the mystery shown in the past episodes that they've been building up be solved in the next episode? I can't wait to see!"
I’m a little skeptical about Netflix continuing PR, mainly due to how it’ll promote streaming episodes. I thought it would be Discovery Family since Hasbro’s in charge
Nah. The 2015 iteration of Transformers: Robots in Disguise was on Cartoon Network. Discovery Family was literally what rose from the ashes of the failed "The Hub" collaboration between Hasbro & Discovery.
I'll be there surprise Devil's advocate here (because it's hard not to disagree with you) and say, in Haim's defense, no one expected the original run of MMPR to be th success that it was. If he was stuck in the '90s, it was only because he was trying to breathe life back into this Frankenstein's monster of a show and repeat what he *thought* was the winning formula. We all like to call back to seasons like Time Force and RPM, but alot of the longtime producers hated those seasons because it was a ton of work with no pay off for them, instead of a repeat of the success In Space brought to the franchise when it was flailing out in the '90s. Ironically they were ahead of the curve, but people still handle the franchise with kid gloves because that's just what you do when you find yourself in charge of a billion-dollar franchise: you do what you know works until the well runs dry. Sad fact of life, but by usually by the time a business can admit that how it does business doesn't work anymore, it's already too late. Hopefully Hasbro will be smart enough to back away more from the creatives and let them churn out some decent content going forward
I actually think he saved Power Rangers wen he bought it back. Disney was going to cancel it. But Saban knew he could revive it. It did just well enough to be sold to Hasboro.
I also watched the Super Sentai Series as well. Including the Korean Adaptation of Kyoryuger called. Dino Brave. Fans are hoping Hasbro turns it around
Which is better, Power Rangers or Super Sentai? I say I like Super Sentai, I like Power Rangers, but the thing is, Super Sentai (to me) has better humor and better characters, like take Souta Mogami and Dax Lo, from Power Rangers Operation Overdrive and GoGo Sentai Boukenger, Souta is smart, and Dax is annoying, sure, Souta can be brash and cocky, but I don't really find those to be annoying traits, Dax on the other hand is always annoying, he makes bad jokes, and he NEVER, and I mean, NEVER shuts up. Or take Kotoha Hanaori and Emily from Power Rangers Samurai and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, both are kind and sweet, albeit a little shy to their teammates, but, for me, the biggest difference is their relationship with the Green and Red Rangers, Emily and Mike don't have the best relationship to me, since, well, Mike is kind of a bad boy, don't get me wrong, their relationship isn't abusive, it's actually the opposite, it's just, I don't think their personalities match, Kotoha and Chiaki on the other hand, Kotoha is always supportive of Chiaki and vice versa, I just don't see this in Emily and Mike, this is also seen in her relationship with Takeru, where Kotoha's support and kindness is seen in Takeru, and it gets to the point where he's scared she'll fall asleep forever. I don't see this in Emily and Jayden since Jayden was a sort of friendly guy at the start, whereas Takeru starts to open up to his team. Oh god this turned into a whole rant, correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't seen these seasons in a while so I'm going off of what I remember, anyone who is offended by me liking Sentai over PR, I still love Power Rangers, I love Maddie and Vida from Mystic Force, but Sentai does it better.
About the marketing, Dino Fury only had trailer a week before it came out, and it gave no hints on the what the story would be, it was literally a toy commercial, nothing else, kinda talking down to kids. Also, I guess Haim Saban isn’t really a man of innovation, which is kinda sad
What’s more is that PR nowadays is just repeating setting themes from previous PR series, like Dino Fury using the Dinosaur theme for the third time and Ninja Steel using ninjas for the second time. I mean, Dino Charge, I kinda understood why they repeated dinosaurs as it would bring nostalgia for people who grew up with Dino Thunder, but with Ninja Steel and Dino Fury, I feel like that nostalgia doesn’t work.
8am TOO EARLY!?!?! I use to be up the moment Fox Kids would start on Saturdays! I would make my bowl of cereal, go in the living room, and get that Saturday fix! at 3:24 not sure if that was a joke. MMPR WAS a worldwide phenomenon.
If they manage to adapt zenkaiger im hoping that they explain those legendary ranger powers that super megaforce uses instead of saying that they are “not from this world”
I remember during mmpr s1 it would be on at I believe 4 or 430 pm est each weekday and then 830 am est on Saturdays. This was back when it was aired on Fox Kids.
I knew it was Haim Saban. His mismanagement of the show showed up as early as Season 2 of MMPR. He fired half of the ranger actors. Wasted Zyu2 megazord footage, and got the cast stuck in Australia.

Pretty much, his 90's mind doesent work now,it just doesent.
Like Vince McMahon
@@theartistformallyknownasle4490 yes! Personally I’ve always called Haim Saban the Vince McMahon of Power Rangers
Also they grew the characters giving them moments we could live them for, this is why power rangers struggles there's 0 growth to characters
If Bulk and Skull didn't have a good character arc I'd be willing to say I hated them.
@@TokuWaffle this is why it worked so well during season 1 and 2 they were hate able but funny but by the end of in space they were heroes themselves assisting in what was to be the final battle despite having no powers, in that acpect they showed that they have the power too
@Dylan Sharp you can but take a look at modern series compared to old and you will see characters don't grow these days
@Dylan Sharp you're welcome to but many others would disagree with you
He fired three of his stars in the second season (MMPR) for asking for more money. They worked 6 days a week for 6 months straight making $300 an episode. He raked in millions in merchandise and promotion deals all while allowing one of the stars to be bullied by crew members until he walk of the show (ZEO). But the show needs a strong moral core.
Mainly because Saban refused to work “as a unit”
So basically, this guy be like "It worked for MMPR; it will work again."
Simply put, banking too much to MMPR nostalgia....
@HaouMazin I mean season 1 wasn't that bad. And would have some good moments. Just they unloaded on the very kid show tropes alot in the neo seasons. Also how they basically don't respect most of the cast.
I’m just pissed off that there using MMPR too much
It's the fact that we could have a Power Rangers Universe like how Marvel has it's but they wanna play with us. SO many stories to be told.
To be fair, Hasbro seems to be doing that now. Twenty years plus too late, I know, but it’s something. Boom!Studios is doing it, too.

Saban is like a less creative George Lucas. An outsider who had an underdog start in the entertainment industry, created a property that people really like. About twenty years later they return trying the recapture the lightning in a bottle they had, but they’re at a point where their franchise is better off in the hands of others.
You know you messed up when Disney cares mores about your own brand than your own self.
I don’t want to know who the Kathleen Kennedy of the franchise would be...
I mean it's just remakes of super sentai so he really isn't creative
Saban needs to understand that kids aren't the only ones watching this show but adults that grew up with the show when you create a show that targets both audiences that creates longevity.
He also needs to understand that kids of before arent the same as today
I would really love a Power Rangers meta-season, where Haim Saban himself plays the main villain. That would be pretty fitting, because he practically ruined his own show.
Kinda like the MCU. Each movie had a its own unique villain, but Thanos was the villain of the entire universe. So, it would be interesting to see that since each Power Rangers season had its own unique villain, there would be a huge a crossover thing with every Power Ranger and Haim Saban was the main villain of the whole franchise.

He never cared. He just sees the show as a big money machine, not an actual TV show.
Haim Saban seems to be still stuck in 90s. Everything he did just has damaged the brand. From allowing Nick to broadcast to checklist based on 90s tropes. But let's hope that Power Rangers improve in the 2020s

Power rangers went downhill after rpm really. Mystic force was passable out of the disney era but the strongest Disney era was SPD.
The collapse started with Disney.
www.inverse.com/article/28476-power-rangers-rpm-eddie-guzelian-disney
Per this article, this was the hell that went into making RPM with Guzelian being dismissed from this in the middle of production.

This isn't just a Bates issue.
It’s crazy to think that Disney treated Power Rangers better than Star Wars
No wonder why I always called him Haim Satan.
Power rangers was great but now it looks like a bunch of toys they want to sell. No good storyline, just the same thing over and over
The comics doe
I mean Samurai, Megaforce, and Ninja Steel were pretty bad....Then we got some bangers like Dino Charge season 1....Then it crapped itself with that wtf ending...Then we got Beast Morphers....Until we got those musical segments...but all in all Beast Morphers was really good. Plot points left hanging aside.
But....Dino Fury has been pretty good....so far.
I think even if Samurai, Megaforce or Ninja steel were good the ratings would still tank because of the hiatus. It just kills the momentum and everyone just forgets that the show is still on.
Dino fury has been good until Jane and J-borg appear with cringe theme song
I think an RPM crossover in Beast Morphers would have worked because it would be a epic team up and maybe RPM Ultrazord and Beast X King Ultrazord in megazord fight.
Improvised adaptation, nice
It would have been really cool, but sadly very difficult to get the cast back together, especially seeing as how most of them now have highly successful acting careers.
@@TheTrailburner facts
You know, the 8 AM timeslot is later than what it was for a while on Fox, after the first few episodes it got moved to the before school time slots...it was at 6 in the morning near me and a few nearby schools started then which was irritating at the time
A simple case of a man who captured lightning in a bottle at the time and when he got it back, he refused to evolve with the times. Recently Hasbro has kinda been doing that with their seasons, though Saban is still involved in some way.
I think it is the reason why Power Rangers has struggled, refusing to evolve with the times and just use the same formula over and over again.
Saban + Nicklodeon = Ruined everyone childhood
damn shorty
Johnnys coming
Ever since Antonio being the only one interesting in Samurai Force, Power Rangers fell off the grid and died for me. Everything was ruined and nothing was interesting anymore.
They couldn’t even make banger openings anymore, just meh rehashed ‘rangers together, ??? forever’.
Well, since Hasbro didn't renew the contract with Toei, who knows where it's going after Dino Fury
Johnnys coming
I think that the show was more interesting when they had tommy as a teacher to the four rangers. And I also think that they need to do that again but with Justin turbo blue ranger. What do you think?
Pre neon saban
Disney era. Also It would be doing the same thing all over again, they need a new idea
Nah
Haim Saban, the same guy who fired his actors over money and collectively ruined the show by making the series about one character drastically making the series worse.
I’m just unfathomably pissed that they wasted the orgasmic suit designs of gokaiger on super megaforce instead of creating a seperate series man 😭😭😭
I think the biggest thing with the no connecting episodes is that it hasn't let them build anticipation for future episodes. There's no thrill of "will the mystery shown in the past episodes that they've been building up be solved in the next episode? I can't wait to see!"
This is why I watch the super sentai originals. Better storylines, consistent, not censured, and more adult-centered in their materials.
I always try to get up at 8:00 am to watch Power Rangers
Power Rangers Just Went Down Bad After 2009
While Super Sentai Continues Providing Fire Stuff
Speak yo shit king 🙏
In my opinion I think mega force is when it started going downhill
That’s where I nearly gave up on Power Rangers, including Super Megaforce
Hasbro are doing live action reboot, continuation of the original show and animated shows that will go back to old seasons
About the marketing, Dino Fury only had trailer a week before it came out, and it gave no hints on the what the story would be, it was literally a toy commercial, nothing else, kinda talking down to kids.
Also, I guess Haim Saban isn’t really a man of innovation, which is kinda sad
It's always been about the toys, ..... Saban would never see Power Rangers as a profit if people were only watching the show but not buying the toys
Hasbro are at least trying, unlike Saban.
@@austinreed7343 Well, you’re not wrong
What’s more is that PR nowadays is just repeating setting themes from previous PR series, like Dino Fury using the Dinosaur theme for the third time and Ninja Steel using ninjas for the second time. I mean, Dino Charge, I kinda understood why they repeated dinosaurs as it would bring nostalgia for people who grew up with Dino Thunder, but with Ninja Steel and Dino Fury, I feel like that nostalgia doesn’t work.
@@yugmittal445 I mean that's more on the Sentai
8am TOO EARLY!?!?!
I use to be up the moment Fox Kids would start on Saturdays! I would make my bowl of cereal, go in the living room, and get that Saturday fix!
at 3:24 not sure if that was a joke. MMPR WAS a worldwide phenomenon.
If they manage to adapt zenkaiger im hoping that they explain those legendary ranger powers that super megaforce uses instead of saying that they are “not from this world”
ugh
This is the peak of “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain”
