    I picked up two salvage boxes a couple of weeks apart from the FLGS. First one was an Atlas, second was the Mad Dog! Woo!
    It is a 1 in 93 chance of getting the exact one you want.

      Lucky pull!…but I suppose that is only if you was hoping for that lol

    I quite like pgis remakes vs the old TROs nut I quite like a number of the cgl designs to pgi.
    DWF is one. The cgl nose is smaller and more Dire Wolf and less 747 nose section.
    Cgl Kodiak is imo, the best Kodiak...the one in the Ad Hoc star box...just looks bad ass in every sense of the word.

      Yeah I’m tempted to as well but really like the catalyst mold I also hate resin models and at the end of the day buying them also helps support the battletech franchise… no money no franchise

    I must say I prefer Alex Iglesias redesigns of the mechs. So credit to him mostly. And Nice pulls! We even got more Battletech stuff avaiable here in Norway too in recent years. Bough the Clan Invasion set+ 3 x C.I salvages. Glad we have Urbanmech packs. Wish we had for 20 tonners aswell. Fleas and Locusts too!

    The Cyclops began production in 2710 as an assault BattleMech and headquarters unit for Star League Defense Force field commanders.

    First pick was a daishi! One of the best assault mechs. Second pick is a shadow cat! I want that! And it isnt a "big gun"! it is a gauss rifle, dont you know your shadowcat haa
    uhh I dont like how the randomization has a level of predictability (rule of thumb, guideline, whatever), like weighing the boxes or certain mechs being bundled together. These things could have been prevented.
    That kodiak looks a little too much like an assault terminator with thunder claws, same size, kind of the same helmet. and Im trying to get away from warhammer haha
    ahh no mad dog, my favorite mech too.
    these boxes remind me of the wizkids booster boxes for the clix line. came with a mech, vehicle, and two infantry. I still have a bunch of those lying around, too bad the sizes are too big to work with battletech.

    Well yeah, its not a shock that 3025 assault mechs don't look scary when compared to the mechs even 20 years later much less when the Clans show up or worse in the 3151 era.
    The only upside to have 3025 mech in any later era is in a table top rpg and you got to worry about ease of actual repairs and spares.
    Easier to replace a single heat sink and medium laser than a custom proto triple sink and a VSPL.

      Totally makes the force cheaper to build as well giving you more points left over to buy another mech if you are using cheaper less advanced mechs

    Battletech has something called a highlander burial, go check it out. From what me and a bunch of others have found out. If you buy a full salvage box. The mechs will be in numerical order. If you look on the bottom of the base you will find a number. I have seen 2 full display boxes opened from 2 different people and they ended up the same. The old Clix version Mechwarrior dark age had the absolute worse blind boxes. I remember cleaning out a LGS and had 8-10 boxes and it all ended up the same mech. All boxes had a hatchetman. I was ready to throw them across the room lol. Also watched both of your salvage box vids while playing MW4 Mercs.

      Mine get delivered to me anyway so I have no idea what I’m gonna be getting as I can’t pick them which is kinda how I like it on top of that there’s no shops near me that sell them

      @@wonkyorc9403 Even though it technically cost more per mech getting them in the salvage boxes, I do love the thrill of opening up a bunch of them. I have bought a total of two display boxes full. Enjoyed every minute of opening them up lol.

      @@vale8653 I can’t agree more, it’s more fun and 9/10 times you will get a better variety of mechs also if you don’t mind getting duplicates or you are currently in possession of none of the mechs it’s actually a very good deal for example the place I buy them from they cost £6.99 so I’m basically only paying an extra 99p per mech so the way I see it I’m paying very little for an extra bit of fun

    A needless observation here, but I have just noticed that the bases on those blind box mech models are different to those that come in the game boxes. Those models have the nodules under the bases, presumably for the location pins under the feet, and yet they aren't present on the models I have that came with the Beginners box. I wonder why the difference? Also, did you know you are able to buy packs of "random" mechs from China via eBay. However, they are 95% complete, ie. possibly slightly damaged or missing bases. My question is, if these are right out of the box, then why the damage, and, why not include the data cards and pilot cards? I am wondering if they are fake, cheap knock offs. Or, possibly, someone at the factory sneaking out rejected castings hence the damage,
    Your thought.

    • @wonkyorc9403
      @wonkyorc9403  2 роки тому

      Yeah some bases have them and some not I’m not entirely sure why and as for the eBay thing I can’t really comment but I wouldn’t be surprised if cheap knockoff ones exist, I wouldn’t buy them though because with Battletech there’s not much out there in the way of merchandise and games so I like to support it in anyway I can instead of buying the pirated stuff

    • @neilhale4954
      @neilhale4954 2 роки тому

      They are mostly the rejects from the factory they were made at,, sometimes missing parts or with bent weapons looking at the pictures on ebay. They don't look fake but who knows.

    I didn’t kick start the clan invasion but I did for mercenary set. There will be little differences between the mechs based on who made them but they are based on the original mechs from fasa just reimagined and updated

    Are the blind boxes worth it seem a bit more expensive per mech

    • @iampoch01
      @iampoch01 2 роки тому

      Vs the Box Sets? No. It's more economical to buy the box sets. These blind boxes were more meant to be bought per piece instead of an entire box of them. Them being blinds play into the dopamine produced in opening packs and getting something you like (or perhaps something rare). However, these are good if you want to try to get a double of a mech without buying another set (provided you have confidence in your luck).
