  • Thoughts from the Inner Sphere: is a series of videos talking about Battlemechs, tanks and tactics in the year 3058 Battletech Universe.
    The videos will cover Battlemechs from the 3058 Technical Readout book.
    We delve into the Ebon Jaguar Cauldron Born 65 Ton, a mech that is good for a short- or long-range fight. This mechs damage output is ok at short-range depending on the weapon loadout. It can provide some needed long range support operation for lance on the battlefield if used correctly.

    Seen this mech do well as a energy weapon boat. Also Sharkteeth is a must for this mech.

      This mech does scream for Shark Teeth! Pulse Lasers and Targeting Computer is a very good option for a loadout for the mech 😎👍

    I think the F variant is one of the simplest, most devastating 65t in the game; It's everything the Hellbringer Prime wishes it was (Though only 1/10th the style of a Hellbie). The A/H are straight scary at close range, and the T is one off my favorite examples of T configs. It feels like a better designed prime, whilst keeping the same overall flavor. It's good enough to play, but focused more on flavor than being perfectly optimized.

      That F version will rip off armor at a distance while racing around the flanks into the rear with the gear. I think that those ERPPC and those ATM firing at a distance will keep it cool with the 18 DHS for a turn and then shut off the ATM for a turn and cool off again. Just keep those ERPPC firing away and tear off armor!

    I just got this painted up two days ago, so this video is oddly timed lol. This has been one of my favorites on visuals alone since I first learned about the clans, and once i saw it has some UAC/20 variants with enough ammo to fire more than 5 rounds i was sold. Thats hard to find with Clan Mecha. I've made a custom variant, but honestly the UAC/20 variants already there are good enough for me. Good video

      For those interested, the Custom Config is: UAC/20, Large Pulse Laser, Streak SRM 6, Heavy Medium Laser, and a Micro Pulse Laser. This is all wrapped up with a UAC/20. 12 double heatsinks cool this bad boy, and there are 3 tons of UAC ammo and one ton of S-SRM ammo, all of which is protected by CASE II. I have a very similar variant that swaps the heavy medium and micro pulse for a Laser-AMS.

      That does sound like a good damage dealer for the mech with the AC20 and the other weapon systems. You have something to do constant damage with the LPL and getting into range with the others and then dish it out!

      @@Helcarexe26 it's quite nice on paper, I'm looking forward to test it on the field soon. Probably gonna have to wait until later in my current campaign though.

    One of the few times i played a Clannwr in our RPG group, back in the 90's, i rolled a Cauldron Born. Made my own loadout with it and proceeded to kill 3 of the 5 opponents in like 5 rounds. Knocked out ine more but it took a while, as it was pretty banged up at that point. 5th dude took me out.
    Needless to say, i earned a good starting rank!
    Used that mech until we stopped playing that campaign. I wish i could remember the configuration exactly... i just remember it had 2 lg pulse and an LBX-20 ... it had some other stuff too, but can't recall what. Maybe it was 2 ERLL instead of pulses... lol not sure

      It will hit above its weight class very well and against IS mechs it can take on heavy and assault mechs with no problem. Still two ERLL and LBX20 can do serious damage!

    Great mech and a solid value for a Clan omnimech. By the time you hit 15 hexes, you're firing everything but the SRM, and most of it is in mid range. And you can always use your favorite Inferno Missiles if you need to worry about infantry. Ammo options in this mech are excellent, and the armor distribution is very well done. Your self edit on "Grab 'em by the now and...kick 'em" made me laugh.

      It's a very solid omni mech with awesome amount of firepower depending on which version you field. True you can use those awesome Infernal missiles for the SRM launcher, but for the most part I'd want two tons of ammo for the launchers to do such a thing. It's a true tactic for the Inner Sphere with the fighting style! 😂😂

    Probably my favorite clan mech. A and H are absolutely terrors, the B I've had some good luck with in light cav stars as a light medium hunter and heavy scout. One of my favorite taggers for arrow IV

    • @Helcarexe26
      @Helcarexe26  11 місяців тому

      Those Heavy lasers combined with the targeting computer can rip off armor quickly, the A version is probably the one we would run a lot of as an all commers style.

    Ah the Ebon Jaguar and or Cauldron Born. They have just god awful names but man, the 'mech slaps. Also you can easily make a loadout that apes a Mad Dog Prime's loadout pretty easily but is better cooled and better ammo efficiency which is just cool.

    • @Helcarexe26
      @Helcarexe26  11 місяців тому

      That's true when compared to the Mad Dog which I like using in games, this one just feels a little better on a notch above the other.

      @@Helcarexe26 Honestly considering the history of both actual warfare and 'mech construction a faction making just a better version of an already existing 'mech is kinda perfect. See: The Victor and Lu Wei Bing for another example.

    When I first got this mech. For some reason I kept thinking it was an assault mec every time I played it.

    • @Helcarexe26
      @Helcarexe26  11 місяців тому

      The model make it feel like an assault mech and the amount of firepower it brings to the table is similar to an IS assault mech for sure!
