- This panel is totally custom. Installing this panel will smooth the entire dash from the "V" of the instrument bezel to the outer edge of the glove box. The square hole for the heater control can be moved over to where the ashtray was or left out and the entire dash takes on a smooth appearance. This panel easily welds or rivets into place. Ideal for the custom or "street rod" look. Dave Welch is a classic truck Specialist and he's got plenty of tricks for nearly every project on your classic!

I need you guys to get into old Dodges!
I was just looking at that piece as one of my options, because the last owner chopped up the dash and theres not even metal where the heater controls were, but i also dont want to lose my glovebox. ill take that first piece you cut out...lol
You can use this panel without eliminating the glove box door. We did this on a '56 we had about 10 years ago and it was really nice! You just trim the panel shorter before installing it.
Another idea could be a center console, but that will be more work to look right. I'm also about to do something like this to shave the center, I'll be keeping the hole for the ignition cylinder, as well as the glove box. Just a little bit more cutting and fitting.
