- Capcom breaks obvious news to us RE fans through IGN that MORE Resident Evil Remakes are on the horizon...which we already figured. However there is much discussion on what SHOULD be the next Remake for the franchise. In this video, I give you all my take on what they should do next and some of the possibilites of what the next few remakes can be. don't forget to leave a comments and let me know what YOU want to see next on the Remake attempt!

If they're giving the fans what they want it should be Code Veronica next.
It is more deserving of a remake next for many reasons, I love RE5 and own it on multiple consoles but CV is in need of a remake much more, RE5 still looks and plays great and when I played it last month there were still online players joining my game session.
@@TheBridgesYouBurn It just makes total sense, RECV is older, has older graphics and gameplay, is more of an horror game than RE5, it happens BEFORE RE5 and after RE3, it features 2 important characters that will appear in RE5.

What a lot of fans don't understand is that Code Veronica is a part of the mainline series of Resident Evil games but the fans who don't know better just want a remake of 5 because it comes after 4. I like part 5 too, I have owned it on multiple consoles, but Code Veronica is the game that truly needs a remake because it is in need badly of an update and it is a God-tier video game!
I do want Resident Evil Code Veronica X to be Remade.

The idea of playing Lost in Nightmares at the beginning is fantastic
They could even add Lost in Nightmares as part of Code Veronica and it would make sense.
I’m guessing the order will be 1, 0, CV, 5 then 6. But I’m just glad we are confirmed to get more remakes, I think we’ll eventually get them all. It will be fun to marathon them all in order one day in the future.
I'm definitely with that order of RE entries. Hopefully it turns out that way.
While I’m happy to see them remaking the resident evil series I really wish they would rerelease the original Resident Evil trilogy… just because eventually those games will be lost to time
I agree. They're still highly playable, charming and superior to the remakes in some ways. Each are important pieces of gaming history in their own right. @@SNESfan8

@@SNESfan8 I’d like to see a similar treatment to what the Tomb Raider trilogy is getting next year. Hopefully if that game is successful Capcom will do a similar treatment to the Resident Evil trilogy.
Yep! Code Veronica remake and DLC of “Operation Javier” featuring Leon and Krauser, following CV events.
It would be cool to get DLCs for the other stars members in the mansion. I wouldn't mind seeing things from Barry, Rebecca, and Wesker's pov.

I may be the odd guy out, but I would love to see a outbreak file 1 and 2 remake, or just bring back outbreak. As for main series i'd love CV/1/0 before 5 or possibly 6 , also wonder if they will do remakes on Revelations at all.
Code Veronica yes. As long as they don't cut content and screw it up like they did with RE3 remake.

I would of course love a Code Veronica remake but would be like to see a remake of Revelations down the line.

@@Owen01 They shouldn't be remade that soon really and it depends on how well they've aged. Revelations 1 and 2 have aged very well. Even the original RE4 has aged well.
One thing that leads me to think it's Veronica next is the little things. The Bowgun in RE4 remake the way they did the ally system with Luis. Then there is Wesker's look and after images in his movments they way they were in Veronica. On top of this Claire is very much beloved by the new fans who never played the OG RE games, Veronica is a great way to introduce both Chris and Wesker to them.
On top of this it does this all in one game while giving Claire some more love.
I hope it's RE:CV, great game, I have it on Dreamcast (it was a bit of a black sheep but now one of my favourite RE's).
They could use Claire's model and VA from the RE2 Remake but otherwise don't need to change a huge amount. Steve could be improved, and I wouldn't mind Claire & Chris being 2 separate scenarios, so the Redfield's get their own fleshed out game. Can't say more though as haven't played it in a while. I just hope the 'B' team behind the RE3 Remake won't touch it.
They have a chance to make Steve a more grounded and serious character, still have some goofy charm, but not a joke.
I hope Capcom noticed that Code: Veronica was trending #3 today.
*If* they do decide to remake 1 again, it would be AMAZING to get Real Survival and especially Invisible Enemy again.
'Code Veronica' would be the obvious choice, along with the original 'Dino-Crisis' and perhaps a total reboot of 'Survivor.' I would like to see the original PS1 trilogy digitally preserved more than anything though.
It's overdue.

It’s coming for sure no way at this point that it isn’t tbh just a matter of what we get first which as a resi fan is great to hear.
I want CV over any other remake, but I'd love to see Outbreak get brought back as well.
So hype if it's true. One step closer to an RE1and RE0 remake. Hopefully Outbreak gets a shot as well.

The next remake will surely be either RE1, CV, or RE5. I think it’s very safe to say that all 3 of those will be remade at some point. Now, if they’re going to do them all, then they should do them in order. I agree, RE1 next
RE0, RECV are two games that have tons of potential to be remade.
Having Resident Evil 0 integrated into Resident Evil 1 would be a cool idea. Seeing as RE0 leads right into RE1. Personally I rather the games be separate, but it could work.
My only conflict is will the game still have bonus modes like Leech Hunter and Project Wesker (or whatever it's called)
Definately would be great to see a whole scenario with Rebecca in the mansion

I’m kinda in different on this apart of me loves remakes and there’s that other part of me that’s like man I wonder when a new RE title will be announced which may not be until another year or two. If there’s any remake I would want is definitely CV retelling of the Ashford family and the whole prison thing would be dope too see.
It's gonna be RE5. They hinted at it with the music during the end of Separate Ways DLC with Wesker standing on the boat.

CVr is definitely the next remake while RE5r won't be released the next 3-4 years. the end of RE4r and SW only shows that a RE5r will come but not the it'll be next. from a business POV it also won't make no sense to release 5 next as it will always sell phenomenal. now there's a tight window opened for lesser known games like CV or 0
Yeah I personally think we’ll get 1 and cv before 5 too much backstory missing to go into 5, we need to round out Leon’s and Claire’s adventures since 2. Technically cv is Claire’s re4 as it shows what she went on to do after raccoon city might Aswell finish out those stories and of course the second half of cv is played as Chris which brings him back into the mix for a remake of 1, I think it would be stupid to continue without doing these 2 games first otherwise the Chris and wesker beef concluding in 5 just won’t hit the same for newer fans, they need to play 1 and cv to fully experience the Chris and wesker rivalry if they remake 5 now it’s kind of out of left field for new fans coming off 4remake, just having Chris show up in Africa buff as f*ck with the intense beef with wesker and no context (for those fans) of why this is such a big moment for the franchise. Just my two cents if I was Capcom I’d do 1&cv first so that newer fans can experience everything leading up to 5 otherwise 5 remake literally releases with no context (to newer fans of course old fans no the story well)

the problem with the newer generation of RE games is that most started with RE4 or RE5 and they don't have a clue about that franchise so they don't care at all
RE9 will probably be the next release or RE5 Remake. About Code Veronica i'm not sure.

This comes down to budgeting.
Capcom are geniuses with fiscal returns; 2,3, and 4 were all funded at the same time as they connect.
If they redo code Veronica next they’ll need to see what games link closest to it to initiate their funding of the title. Since they reconnected 4 to 5 much closer I could see them doing the same with Veronica to 5. Only issue then is how do you handle wesker this time around, and whether you do kill him off.
Then again his origins in 1 is terrific but idk if they wanna remake that again. It’s a catch 22 right now.
I really wish they focused to remake the old version of resident evil. I think that’s the better way to do things.
Though code Veronica would be cool would be a modern remake of the original resident evil. Though the 2002 remake was cool seeing the original game unfold in the Rex engine would be awesome. Especially since they’ve made 2 3 and 4. Feels weird that they never did 1

I'd expect 5 before CV as 2,4 and 5 are probably the most popular games in the series. I'd certainly prefer CV first but I don't see that happening before 5 or possibly another remake of 1.
What wonderful news and hopefully it's Code Veronica first. But, I'm fine with any of the remaining mainline games getting the remake treatment. I feel RE0 & RE1 should be combined to further distinct itself from the 2002 remake. If ever, RE5 should follow next after CV, then RE6 for last.

This year, me and 11yr old daughter have been playing through the classics. We are now half-way through Code Veronica. She wants Steve to die, little does know.
Code Veronica needs the most work. It was so cheesy compared to the original re2 and 3.
I'd go for a darker mood to Veronica, yeah RE needs its cheese. But these remakes just aren't in that direction.
So I hope CVX is next!

Capcom can do it this way... Turn RE1 as RE5 Remake, RE Code Veronica will be the RE6, then the story of RE7 will be coming from the story of RE5... They can even rename it like Resident Evil Global Saturation, or Resident Evil End Game.
I think the next remake is going to be RE5, mainly because of the ending of RE4R. I personally want it to be CVX, since it's my favorite original game and it's a huge blank point in the story. RE1 is mentioned, and the other 3 remakes are modern. There is no mention of the events of CVX and Wesker just pops up in 4 with no build up. Plus, the events lead up to RE5, including one of the viruses that Wesker has access to in 5.
CVX, Operation Javier, and Umbrella's Fall definitely need more respect

@@bepohal from what we see from Capcom, they mainly care about the main numbered titles, which is why CVX was already skipped. RE5 is also the highest selling game in the series, so they will get money (their mindset). There's more evidence for 5 than CVX. I would prefer the latter, but 5 just has more evidence
@@fafnirable1 that's wrong. CV is also from the business POV by far the best decision. they most likely skipped CV because RE3r got so much backlash and capcom wanted to redeem themselves and play it safe.
that's also not how the market or economics work. as a company you want to make the most money in the long run. RE5r will always sell well while now there is a tight window for lesser known games to max out the profit.
every single evidence speaks for CV for example nearly every poll favours CV, the capcom survey was mainly to check what the fans want and that's exactly CV.
screenfire germany (videogame journalist) has a vid up where he also said that capcom insiders told him it's in developement since end of 2022 under dev1.
ofc it's to take with a grain of salt but nearly everything regarding RE was accurate the last 15 years so he's pretty credible

I really want code Veronica tbh. One of my favorite RE games. I owned it on release back it the day when I think most people didn’t simply cause they didn’t own a Dreamcast
I don't really care what they do as much as I care about it being properly ported to PC. Even with the lastest hardware, I have to tweek the settings of 4 Remake so it doesn't constantly crash. That it has an "Overwhelming" review on Steam just tells me we're more blinded by nostalgia than actual execution of a port.
What RE music is in the background?
I've been saying this. If they shouldn't remake 1. They should reimagine it to include all of 0. They're both very short games which will only be shorter in their person. So combining them would be a really cool way to make both games feel fresh

I think it would be wise if Resident Evil: Code Veronica X went first, but I can already see RE5 being remade first.
I'd love remakes for RE1, Code Veronica (X?) and Outbreak Files 1 & 2. Remaking RE0 would be nice too or simply having some of it in DLC, I enjoyed it, but I get that people didn't like the co-op system. Of those I don't mind how much or how little they do change for RE1 & RE0. RE Code Veronica and RE Outbreak games both deserve remakes as older games that have plenty of room to improve on and Outbreak was ahead of its time. If they remake Outbreak, I hope it's as accommodating to solo offline and solo online players as much as multi-online players. I hope they remake Outbreak and maintain its focus on average citizens trying to survive and escape the city.
I can see the story of the Outbreak in the beginning starting as the citizens hearing about an odd illness that is spreading, which just start as symptoms of the virus infecting them, the police and local hospital reassure the public it's simply a new strain of flu or cold and reassure the people there's nothing to be alarmed about but stay home if they feel unwell to minimize the spread and so they go on with their days otherwise. Things get worse with the public not really knowing it. I think one thing that some players didn't like about Outbreak is that the Outbreak happens too suddenly for a virus that takes a little time to take over and there's not much context for that and if it's a slow chain of events. How did no one notice must be a question some wanted an answer too. I hope a remake of Outbreak would show or explain some of that.

Resident Evil 4 reintroduced Albert Wesker to a new generation of players 😎
Like you said, there are 3 options for the next remake: RE 1, Code Veronica and RE5.
The advantage? All of them feature Albert Wesker in a significant way, story-wise. Any of these options, I see this as a win.
I want to see them get it over with and finally remake Dino Crisis. Not RE but close enough. As for RE games Iwould like to see them all. I have NEVER been able to get the hang of those damned tank controls that the old RE and Dino Crisis used so updated controlls for the old games would be great.
I want RE1 remade in 3rd person with option to go 1st person VR. REALLY want to walk around the mansion...
BUT...
I'm really anal about the mapping. I don't want them to piss about with it like they are really intent on doing all the time. Add the odd room or door or area but don't change what's already there, deeply important for me

I am 38 and grew up with Resident Evil so anything that they can do that is good with the technology today I'm OK with.

RE5 is a great game until the second half. The first half in RE Engine would be so sick with the alligators. I gotta see it. But personally I would prefer code Veronica or RE1 next.
I be more vote on CV than RE1.
The only reason i don't want RE1 reremake is 2 thing, It already remake despite already old, and because they don't do multiple ending. The last time they tried different ending is on RE7. After that, they didn't do anymore even on remake, goes straight line story instead branching path.
I can see them remaking - in order - RE5, RE1 (again) and *then*….maybe… Code Veronica.
The chances of them remaking the Revelations & Outbreak series highly unlikely.
A RE0 remake should exist only as a DLC to a possible RE1 remake - and that game can afford to have cut content (crap bosses, insufferable backtracking, and the metric ton of plot holes connecting the story cannon to RE1)

Depends, either Capcom wants to please the true fans by releasing CV or they are after a cash grab then they will remake 5...I love both games, don't misunderstand me, but CV needs a remake more than 5 because 5 still looks and plays great. Also, we just got a fast paced action remake with RE4, we need a classic style RE game, and CV is the best classic style RE game hands down!

i cant help but feel like the failed attempts at an online resident evil game were fuelled by hopes to create resident evil communities on gaming platforms, so that a potential re5 remake could be more accessible for fans. this way more people could make friends that would want to partner up in resident evil 5. if im right about this, i dont see why capcom dont make an online mercenaries mode. they already have all the assets for it. we could have maps from raccoon city (the police station, the streets, the sewers, nest), the locations in re4 and 8, and we could face all the enemies and some bosses from previous instalments. being able to play as all our favourite characters in an online co-op in the style of left4dead but with the resident evil twist would be a great way for players to connect, making re5 more accessible for many people. not to mention how fun this game would be in the first place

Y'all are getting a remake of REmake 2002 before a remake of Code Veronica sees the light of day, especially for the 30th Anniversary.
If they remake CV, they’d better fix a lot of what was wrong with the original; the story, the enemies, the environments… It was just so dull. Personally, I’d rather have a remake of RE1 with the Spencer estate scattered across the Arklay mountains.

I'd like this too some point, I got the PS2 outbreak 1 & 2 not long ago and found them difficult (couldn't play with others) though even back on the PS2 in 2003(?), online play was pretty rare.

It’ll be 5 and it will be awful. This is crapcom we’re talking about. All they care about is money and they delusionally think that if there’s not a number in the title it won’t sell. They fail to realize just the “Resident Evil” name is enough for something to sell, they just need to advertise it properly. Take the Revelations games for example, they WOULD have been hits but crapcom didn’t have the confidence to market them more so they went under the radar

Code Veronica doesn’t sound all that bad. But I do prefer remake 5 since the ending of remake 4 was perfect and it sorta hinted it was gonna be the case

I feel like, if they want to remake Code Veronica, they have to adjust some of characterization and how they deal with Alfred's mental illness. Back in the day, we say he is crazy, which I still believe he was. but now, we live in society that you can enter a girls bathroom if you dress as a girl and believe that you are a girl.. You get my point. I would be interested to see how Capcom tackle this issue.
Definitely not against remaking re1 again, people often forget about the issue with its endings when talking about it. Those endings worked in 96 because we had no idea it would get sequels but the REmake had no reason to not have a canon ending.
Still want code Veronica remade first though cause that’s my personal favourite fixed camera RE.

Capcom is not remaking code Veronica The first remake started in 2016 when they remastered resident evil 1 with all new 3D HD graphics and then two and then three and then four the next is five they're not remastering the games because fans like the spin-off games they're only remastering them so they can tell the story so they can end the legacy so the new generation can understand what's going on and buy the newer games hence 7 8 and 9 they don't have time to work on spin-off games The only thing that matters is the main numbered games That's obvious it's been obvious since 2016 Why do people keep saying they're going to make cold Veronica nobody cares about that game it's not relevant to the main story Why would they make a spin-off game a remake of a spin-off if you guys would have played resident evil 1 remastered which was completely overhauled and basically a brand new game graphically You would realize that they were sticking to the number titles and they've already started the remakes in 2016 they have no interest at all in their financial agenda to muddy the storyline and confuse new players with an extra spin-off game that would be bad for business stop saying that I wish you guys would literally just stop saying that stop being so scared of resident evil 5 remake You guys are so obsessed with cove Veronica it's sad if you guys love cove Veronica so much it would have the same sales as resident evil 5 but it doesn't so clearly it's not that important get over it
