What are your thoughts on the recent "rumors" of Resident Evil 9? Where should they take the next game following Resident Evil Village?

I really hope they don’t make re9 an open world game. Gaming studios like the coalition and 343 did this to gears 5 and halo infinite and those story modes were nothing compared to their predecessors. Resident evil is meant to be linear. Thats its bread and butter and where it shines.
CV explains why Wesker is still alive and his origin with Umbrella. People who never played Code Veronica will be confused about RE5.

I personally didn't have problem with that and I think they set him right up with the re4 remake, but I see the point you are trying to make
Re5 has plot twist with the Progenitor flower in Africa. People who never played RE 0/CV will be confused, because they dont know who Dr Marcus is or the Ashford Family.
At this point, I’ll even take an open world RE 😆 I am def ready for a remake teaser

I can't remember what I voted for that survey question. I know I voted for Dino Crisis but it was a question of what IP do you want to see next or something like that. For this other question it was different. In this specific question I think I voted for Capcom VS or another DMC over Dino Crisis.
you should play the evil within 2. I like how they do the open world and the side quest in that game
Hey, LTRE do u know theres a fixed camera mod for resident evil 2 remake?? U should play the game over again using that mod. ITs a great experience that i believe u will LOVE.
My long time friend from 2001 always known i love re. He asked me what makes me go back to the og games. I sent him screenshots from re3 99 streets . Re2 98 stars office and basketball court. I told him its like visiting a familiar places.although nostalgia glasses on...i did my best to explain the feeling it always gave me. All due respect to people who love 4-8 everyone has there cup of tea. But raccoon city is the bees knees to me. The s.d. perry novels are awesome because you see what the characters are thinking and have extensions to the games lore. Such as re3 ....Carlos had major stuff going on before meeting jill. And jill was borderline ready to kill herself after she saved a bunch of people died in a highschool. And it even explains what the explosion came from when jill jumps out the building from the start of re3 99. Fast forward re2remake is my favorite game of all time and it kills me that re3remake could have been the goat but Capcom handed it down to m2 studios with limited budget and a years time development for release. Its not even a bad game its just butchered and compressed and missing alot of sections and beats the original hit

Think it would be a refreshing thing open-world but I do find it hard to follow that formula sometimes. Also, it's not how I see Resident Evil. If you want open world perhaps explore something like Fallout or Cyberpunk. But you know, anything can happen
RE is completely about human body horror and possible use as B.O.W's. RE8 was the peak of that. The story was Swiss cheese but everything held up in terms of boss fights (Heisenberg...Ugh) But now in RE9 they have to scale in back unless they want a RE6 situation. Bring back Jill and another lesser used character. I'm excited for the possibility. No. Open . World.

Revelations is garbage it's filler at best . There's a reason it's called Revelations. Barry would be awesome but it has to be Canon and main line numbered game and a real reason to do it. That's up to the writers. Sadly shinji mikami is not there anymore.

I wouldn’t mind an open map with back tracking but I’m not sure how I feel about a full on open world game. There is less opportunity to create actual memorable moments because the game studios don’t create cinematic scenes .. everything happens “in-game” so the focus is else where most of the time . Cutscenes and character dialogue seem more bland because it’s just a character model sitting in the world with clipping issues instead of a well thought out and rendered cutscene . Imo open world games are a way to cut corners and add filler content instead of meaningful moments , not all games fall for this.. Arkham knight still had good in game camera angles and some cutscenes while Elden ring is almost all in game but the dialogue and world building is amazing . But second and third playthroughs fall flat. End of rant

My thoughts exactly. It would be cool to explore Raccoon City in the middle of outbreak with the classic locations filled with classic enemies.

No its still happening,but I think the creator is still takin longer to cook it
Just make a hardcore horror mixed with some cool sci-fi, basically classic Resident Evil. Just make a third person back to basics game with Jill or Barry and call it a day.

No. Open world games kind of suck. It's impossible to tell a good story when you let people fish and play card games for 200+ hours.
Rdr2 is the best game ever made.

That's not RE, and I will be extremely disappointed. My opinion
