Had the same issue with my 6.0. It was a sensor in the transmission, it might have been the pressure sensor, but I basically dropped the transmission oil pan and popped a new sensor in it. I wish I could remember the sensor it was, but I do remember it was right there when I dropped the pan. If that doesn't work, then another aspect that contributed to it on my truck was a cracked up pipe. Make sure to check that too. Hope this helps brother.
Hey Ken, the flashing overdrive light shows the transmission has a code on it. If you can’t reset it with a regular OBD 2 scanner you should be able to use something like an edge monitor if your truck has one. Mine shows any codes engine or trans and you can clear them from there. Hope this helps with anything.
The weather this year has been wild fr.. my mom's water lines busted too and the ice was so bad we couldn't leave the house for a week and a half.. IN ALABAMA 😂 I'm 23 yrs old and aint never seen it be this cold.. we had to walk/slip fpr 2 hours just to get to a gas station to grab the scraps of food that were left for our kids
Great content, Kenny! What it looks like that happened to your truck's transmission is that one of the two fluid lines to and from the transmission fluid cooler just came off due to it not being installed tigjtly enough. With all of the high pressure from that hard drive with someone trying to get ahead of you and ending up alternatively ahead and behind, that allowed the line to come undone and leak most of your fluid out. However, being so cold just might have saved the internal parts of your transmission from damage due to low fluid (as compared to if this happened in hot weather without enough fluid or cooling capability)? Then, you almost had an indoor pool in your basement (that was going to become an ice rink from the far below freezing temperatures that most of the nation had in the second week of January). So, it looks like instead of being on well and septic where you live, you have water and sewer instead even in a country house vs. a house in a town? The best thing to do to prevent this is to turn off the water going to those areas where the pipes could freeze or break and leak when you aren't using those faucets such as now in the winter. Also, if and when you leave the house when no one else will be home for a few hours or so, turn off the water supply to the house and that problem won't happen again such as you won't come home to a wet mess or a frozen block of ice where the leak happened. It is really good to collect content and upload it when you have a lot that you want to share, even if that means that you don't upload all of the time, because, I know that we are all busy with one thing or another and don't always have time to constantly upload videos or watch others' videos. About not getting enough (or any), sleep before strenous activity, that will only wesr yourself out and stunt your progress, so no matter what is going on, whatever goes wrong, at least try to get the rest and sleep that you need before doing what you want and/or need to do. Oh, and that water line freezing outside your house (if that is what also happened), because it also happened in the basement inside: That was the utility company's mistake. Not burying a water line below the frost line in the soil, so it froze instead of staying at 55°F as it will below the frost line down so far in the crust of Earth before it becomes so much deeper that it really starts to get hotter than that (55°F).
we had a 06 6.0 work truck. did the same thing and put a new transmission in from ford and still did it. ended up being corrosion in the transmission wiring harness. hope it is a simple inexpensive fix bud
I am here... I watched your live stream the other day and said I was re-watching your old vids but I'm sure you didn't see the comment on stream. BUT I'm glad you posted. I done liked lol
I live in Indiana and that first sub zero (-11--15ish) weather we got literally froze my truck overnight. It had an old battery..shot. Every warning light in the cab was on. No blower for heat, no turn signals, wipers, radio. Had to get a new battery but once it warmed up everything resolved itself. I have to strategically park it so wind doesn't blow straight through it and freeze everything again.
I think it would be a good idea to just start posting gym content more often Ken, you’ve got the build and entertainment charisma to do it and gain a lot of followers thru it.
Had a similar problem with my 2994 jeep Wrangler sport, it was all traced down to a bad ecm aka computer, as far as the trans fluid, I would see if the rubber hose is cracked, could be a lot of things, if the fluid is leaking our could be pressure resulted aka torque converter issue, my jeep would show the transmission was full, I would literally drive maybe 10 to 20 feet, every gear was like neutral, no trans fluid would show up, if I let it cool down the fluid level would be full, I never actually found out what the issues was, I was told it may have been the trans cooler or a bad torque converter
Kenny, blew the tranny pump on my 6.0 and sounds like its having the same exact symptoms. I was going 70 mph on highway perfectly fine then tow/haul light comes on and I have 6 neutrals... Rebuild cost 3500 back in 2020, I hope that you can find the issue if it isnt that but seems to be almost identical. Now, I will say that when the pump went out, it never drove again at all... so maybe it isnt the pump. Just something to think about
shot in the dark, but i had an impala that went into limp mode cus of a similar issue. i know its a different make/model/everything but all it took was a obd2 scanner and i reset everything. fixed when i started it up
Change your filter and fluid and make sure you don't overfill it. You might get lucky and be alright. You also might be right about the fluid foaming up when hot because my 2018 f150 had a trans service and they overfilled it and it did the exact same shit. Worth a shot anyways. Keep your head up boss
More than likely something electric. Idk much bout them. But with all my experiences in vehicles so far, the things that are like half way broke are typically electric. Just a couple weeks ago my truck in Drive only had first gear. I could manually shift it to second. All other gears gone. I wiggled some wires around and my speedometer started working and found the short, wrapped it up and she’s been fine since. I had a 05 5.4, had crazy misfires, so weird. Could never figure it out. Ended up being the computer itself was fucked. Idk how either bc the truck was babied it’s entire life, I’m assuming when it was sitting for a year or two a mouse chewed on the wires or something. But for me, I hate electric failures. Fixing it is definitely satisfying asf but damn it’s hard finding the problem. Wish you luck with ur truck man. Truck problems always suck
But maybe it’s ur VSS? Bc u have no speedometer and no shifts. That was a huge symptom for my truck, I had no speedo or auto shifts, but mine wasn’t the VSS it was a short between the speedometer, vssb, and VSS.
Check your kick down on the trans. We had an 85 Ford F250 59 idi that would do the same thing so we mess with their kick down on it and it started working again like it was supposed to
If the truck drives fine when cold and has issues when warm, you need to check the fluid level, you only get an accurate ATF level when the rig (fluid) is warm and the truck is running. And when I had an issue similar to this with my 7.3 it turned out to be a bad PRNDL switch, don’t know if this will help but I hope it’s one of those 2 issues. Good luck Kenny
Regarding your water bill. You may be able to ask the company to see if they can give you a leak pass. Basically it eithers allows u to pay what u normally are due and not worry bout the leak cost. Or you'll make payments incorporated into your bills.
Actually Kenny weather it matters or not I'm DAMN PROUD OF YOU SON , YOU HAVE GROWN INTO THE KIND OF YOUNG AMERICAN THE U.S.A. NEEDS LOVE YA KEN DAWG NO HOMO .
I had a similar issue with my old car. What was explained to me was my tranny got overheated and the belt warped. While the belt was cold it was tight enough to work but once it warmed up it would expand it just enough to keep it from driving and I was all neutral.
Front bumper vs. deer or other large animal? We'll all see in the next or a future video. That is another topic, but bumpers, whether they are chromed or not, eventually get holes in them but not usually until about more than twenty five years in a freeze and thaw area where a lot of salt is used on roads.
Ok for your trans problem 1. You either blew it up 2. Check the sensor in the trans pan. That sensor will mess with the trans. The sensor is like $100 3. Don’t worry about white smoke in the winter no matter what brand you drive they all do it.
Transmission speed sensors mine did the same 😂 wires weren't properly hooked up drove down dirt road and bam all neutrals scanned it and that's what came up
Hey Kenny those older ford transmissions are very sensitive to what fluid you put in only use genuine motocraft fluid. Also make sure you have a good battery connection Ive had transmission problems in my 7.3 from a bad battery connection with the o/d light flashing and same neutral in every gear problem. Good luck!
Don’t knock on them rural king batteries, when I bought my Lbz it had 2 11 year old rk batteries in it. I had to replace them shortly after I got it back to Oklahoma
My 6.0 lost all gears one day and turned out to be the trans pump. You could try testing the solenoids, if those are all good it’s most likely the pump. Most common failure point on these 5r110’s.
Would recommend tossing out that old jump starter and getting what's called a "Noco" its this small handheld jump box. I think the best one they sell is 12V and 2500A.. Starts every car and truck INSTANTLY.
Sounds like the pedal position sensor ✅ Crazy it’s going out the same time as the fluid going out. - Now That I think about it constantly throttling would definitely add some wear to that sensor and when mine went bad I had neutral issues randomly with new fluids with the correct amount and a new filter.
There should be some sensor on the rear differential or on top of the transmission try replacing that sensor my older truck used to do that but it would shift horrible
Yo Kenny love your videos man you actually inspired me to start making videos I just started a couple days ago and I'm working on getting better at it. Absolutely love your videos bro.
Hey Kenny put some Lucas transmission fluid in it hook up a scanner and clear the Tcm codes the flashing tow hall light is just a code when it goes into to limp mode it’s just a safety bc it thinks it still doesn’t have fluid idk why but 90% of the time when you run them low and fill them back up the tcm doesn’t recognize that there’s fluid in it until you clear the codes that should solve your problem
Safe problem with the water lines down on the other side of mayfield had to redo all mine, glad the well didn't bust but switched to pex. But on your transmission just a thought maybe the Trans temp sensor is fuckin up
Dump brake fluid in it. It’s probably a bunch of seals dried out and when the explains they’re probably cracked. After you do that the trans is junk tho. A good used trans isn’t much tho. $500-$700. You can use a 5r110 from I think 2004-2010 powerstroke trucks. I doubt you’re gonna see this but the brake fluid thing works. Could be anything tho. Speed sensors ecm shift solenoids etc..
Kenny makes a better 6.0 sound then the truck
Istg😂😂😂
Had the same issue with my 6.0. It was a sensor in the transmission, it might have been the pressure sensor, but I basically dropped the transmission oil pan and popped a new sensor in it. he replaced sensor’s before
My vehicle speed sensor on top of the rear diff got cut and it made every gear neutral might be worth checking into
3:34 ellepsy had me rolling
Been watching for years still great content!
Same here
Still love this guy can’t lie ❤
He loves himself more.

Keep up the good work big dawg. Been watching you since u was in your parents house. You've came a long way💯

You southerners just cannot drive in icy conditions huh
the flytrap in the end on your back LMAO i feel that
It’s the trans module heating up and then not working mine did the same thing 😊
Bro you have came so far keep going!

Does the filter need changed. Or check the plug on the transmission. Glad to see a Video.

you can definitely dispute the water charge i have done it before with irrigation pipes busting and running constantly
yo kendog i've been watching since you worked at ford it's been a long time lol keep up the good work man
The jokes landed. I’ve exhaled from my nostrils in a fast fashion

or you might have an issue with your ecu in general now, and you might need a ford dealer to do some magic on it
fly stripfly strip
The tow haul light used to come on in my truck and it would do bs similar to that. It ended up being the transmission fluid temperature sensor
Bro bought a 6.0 and thought he would have good luck😂
Change your filter and fluid and make sure you don't overfill it. You might get lucky and be alright. Call the water department. They can adjust for burst lines. Happened to me a few years ago
Dude flipped him off at 20:03😂
Transmission speed sensors mine did the same 😂 wires weren't properly hooked up drove down dirt road and bam all neutrals scanned it and that's what came up
The SpongeBob edits❤ .. man it's just a series of unfortunate events

Kendog turning zesty before gta 6 is wild
Doesn't matter what you post, I'm watching. Never thought I'd be sitting here watching a guy work out but I do lol.
Wouldn't be an RNTV video without him showing his new muscles to his 99.9% male audience.
Boi wallering all on that fly trap

When my ford did that it was a ground wire on the 4 wheel
Drive switch that goes into the transfer case
The fly trap at the end 😂

Clutch is slippin
Well on my 6.0 my transmission filter fell apart and stopped up the filter 🤷

Really looking great in the gym
What’s up with homie in the back with the bird @ 20:05
Could be torque converter, my buddys got a 6.0 and when his tow haul light was flashing his transmission went out
Speed sensor on the tail housing of transmission. Had a 6 liter do the same thing
Let’s see some pond videos soon intrested to see how the big the bass got
Safe problem with the water lines down on the other side of mayfield had to redo all mine, glad the well didn't bust but switched to pex. But on your transmission just a thought maybe the Trans temp sensor is fuckin up
Check ur tcm it may short out when it gets hot and check your codes if anything popping up
Sounds like you just need to buy my zf6 manual 4x4 7.3 I got. This truck never breaks no matter how hard I beat on it
Look on your pedal assembly, my 7.3s go into a limp mode liek that and theres a tps sensor on the gas pedal. Can just amazon the whole assembly
Working and still had time for ya dog more videos man
And btw I am proud of you man you have come a long long ways!
love the videos kenny keep it up!
Gotta flare metal lines when u repair with rubber. Pro tip lol
With the fluid being all new its causing it to slip. Add friction modifier.
could be a torque converter could be slipping when the fluid gets warm
always tryna watch more
Love ya kendawg
20 mins🤯🤯🤯 Hell yeah💪💪

My Xj did the same shit would run fine until warmed up and it was the torque converter
sounds like the valves in the tans i’d try doing a trans flush same thing happened to my uncles truck
Great video kendawg
Sup kenny it be dope to see you and @outlaw collab would definitely be a legendary video
Not the shirt of in the gym😂
I'm proud of ya Kenny!!!!
Check your speed sensor on your rear end. The flashing overdrive light could be caused by that
wake up boys kendog posted
Ken dawg you mentioned when it got warmed up that it would quit check the trans cooler
Bro needs to just keep the two badass trucks he has like keep it, built it and yeah
Or to reset the trans hold your battery cables together and it’ll reset negative to positive
I had the same thing happen to my 96 dodge. Same way, I was laying on it and the next day the cooler line was disconnected
Yo precision diesel in Hanson is the best place to take it tbh
