- To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first book of the Railway Series, as well as the 35th anniversary of the "Thomas & Friends" TV show, I put together this special music video! It's my own arrangement of the well known 80's hit, "Break My Stride!" This song is considered by many to be the (un)official anthem of the Thomas community, and I felt it would be appropriate for the occasion! For the visuals, I made sure to exclusively use the original raw 80's masters to give it that nostalgic feel.
This is my first collaboration with fellow Thomas UA-camr Headmaster Hastings, an immensely talented instrumentalist and vocalist! Thank you Hastings for your spectacular performance on this! Be sure to check out his social media links to see his great work.
This video is dedicated to Britt Allcroft, Rick Siggelkow, David Mitton, the Reverend Wilbert Awdry, Mike O'Donnell, Junior Campbell, George Carlin, Ringo Starr, and all who have made Thomas and all his friends so special for the past 75 years! Thomas the Tank Engine and Shining Time Station have truly played a part in shaping me into the person I am today, and they will always have a special place in my heart. I also want to thank all the friends I've made along the way in this community, especially Mavis, Stephen, Nathan, Jacob, Louis, Ricky and Matt! You guys rock!

The word "Amazing" doesn't meet the standards of how this video is because this video goes beyond that!!!!! A popular 80s song for a popular 80s show. And it's so hard to believe that just 5 years ago we were celebrating Thomas' 70 Anniversary. Thomas, The Railway Series and Shining Time Station and everyone behind them will forever be beloved!!!!

Ever since I was a little toddler, I've always loved the classic Railway Series. (Trains in general) I'm going to be 23 next month.
Thomas & Friends has always held a special place in my heart. I remember being in 1st grade and taking a Thomas book when I was chosen to read a book to my class. I also remember opening up a HO scale Bachmann Thomas set on Christmas morning when they first started selling them. I don't know what happened to Thomas, but I still have the original Annie and Clarabel. I also remember being in middle school and opening up the HO Scale Gordon's Express train set another Christmas day. As I grew older, I felt embarrassed for always being a closet Thomas fan. I stumbled across this video while looking up old Thomas episodes to get inspiration for scenery on the current model train layout I'm building and I'm so thankful I clicked. Finding out that there is a HUGE online Thomas fan-base made up of "grown-ups" makes my heart extremely happy. It felt great knowing I wasn't the only one who still had a soft spot for the little blue engine. I feel more comfortable now. While watching this video, I will admit that my eyes got pretty teary and a few drops fell down my cheek. An uncontrollable smile always comes across my face when I hear Thomas's whistle at 2:18 It syncs so good. The amount of nostalgia and happiness I get while hearing this amazing rendition of the song while watching this video CANNOT be described with words. TONS of childhood memories flooded my head when I saw this for the first time. From collecting the Wooden Railway toys when I was a kid to also collecting the ERTL toys. I'm even getting misty eyed while hearing this as I type. Thomas has always been a part of my life. I've been hearing this at work and all day today nonstop. I've also really liked this song as a kid too. My dad had an old ass Zune MP3 player when I was little and went to visit him. It was full of 80's pop songs and this one was always my favorite. I'm absolutely blown away by this. I never knew this was the "unofficial" Thomas fandom theme song haha! Thank you so so so much from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to make something like this. It's beautiful. - German.

I swear, this fandom has matured so much, even in just the past 2 years or so. Like, before, if I looked up “Duck’s theme” I’d get low quality rips from the show, and S.A. music. Now? Tons of covers, some with gorgeous digital orchestrations, others that are entirely recorded with actual instruments! Heck, I think even Mike O’Donnel himself posted a version of it! I’m so proud of this fandom.

Absolutely blown away by this. From the very early days of the fandom, this has been the unofficial anthem since Kate669 brought it up back in 2004.
Must say also, I actually much prefer the vocal on this than the original. Sounds so much more appealing to my ear. Great stuff.
If I'm honest, I only ever remember hearing Kate669's voice through SiF redubs and that one 'Faulty Whistles' audiobook. I'm sure you told her that the fandom thanks her.

Part of me feels like Break My Stride is the unofficial theme for the community because of some of the older Music Videos. That being said, this was one nostalgic field trip.

@@BriceGum138 you are half right, the synths used in the original song are pretty much the same as the ones Mike and junior had for S1 and 2 so that's why the song really picked up within the fandom the song just works with thomas.

It just makes me sad that the TTTE fan community is putting more care into the 75th anniversary of Thomas than Mattel are doing. Loved the song, makes me glad that this is the Thomas I know, not the CGI version that kids are growing up with today.

From the tight editing of the shots (the shots only being S1 & 2 add wholeheartedly to the 80's vibe), to the rhythm matching the opening notes of the classic Thomas theme, plus the mixing of Thomas' whistle and the epic vocals make this one of the best renditions of this classic in the community.
It amazes me how this one music video feels more like a celebratory tribute to the franchise than what's actually out there, and it's really what the whole community needs during these dire straits.

Thomas has been in my life for as long as I can remember I learned of the model series from my father and I loved it more than the CGI era I grew up with used to collect take n plays but now I collect ertls most of my old Thomas toys have been rehomed to my younger cousins.

I’ve watched this little blue tank engine and his friends run wild since 2006. I was FIVE at the time. Even though I’m an adult now, Thomas will always hold a special place in my heart.

I do like this song and a also like it that you have made a TTTE remix of it because Matthew Wilder was a large user of the Roland Jupiter 8 synthesizer which was largely used to create the music for TTTE S1-S2. So it’s perfect to do a remix because the same instrument was used on both!

Perfect, what I needed after 4 years
From one musician to another, this track is really well put together, the vocals especially. Very very nicely done. It's an odd thing about Break My Stride, people seem to love the song, but honestly, I think cover versions of the song are actually better, like Blue Lagoon and The Pop All Stars, and, I'd say, even this, thanks to that impressive vocal track.
As someone who's been a part of the Thomas and Friends community since 2006, I still have no idea why this song is so popular in the community. It's a good song, but why they all love it, I'm not sure.
