Anyone who says a carp is a trash fish has never hooked into and fought one of those bruisers. They will change their minds rather quickly! Great catch Alex!
Breaking news from the "Now I've seen everything" files: Tennessee man catches "lock ness monster" on a persimmon! Bud, If you did not have video proof I would have said you were telling a "fish story". That has got to be one of the most outrageous fishing adventures I have ever seen. The fact that you got that fish to shore on 10 lb test is a feat in itself never-mind the bait used. Congratulations Alex! That has to be, hands down, the best fishing video I have seen to date. I've landed a lot of carp in my time and I know how much of a fight they give. This is one to be really proud of. Now if you will excuse me, I have to pick my jaw up off the floor.
He was definitely better off with 10 lb braid than mono but I think he would have landed it either way. Yeah that was a great fish story with video to back it up. Why he didn't have, or didn't use needle nose pliers to get that hook out is a mystery to me. I never fish for anything without taking my needle nose. Have a good one Scott!
lol i caught a 34" grass carp on some peas and corn, it was a hilarious fight, especially because a bedding bass would come out and try to escort the carp every time it got close, it must have happened about 5-8 times
That was AWESOME! I like how you really respect the fish too. A lot of people would have just cut the line when they got him up to the bank since the hook looked deep. Cudos Alex.
Glad to see you backing off. The water in my pond is not very clear but the bass spook very easily. We got five this morning but they were all under a pound.
its really cool those carp will sit under those trees and similar fruit baring ones and wait for them to drop. ive heard of this but man its cool to see it on film!!!!!
What the hell, I thought I was watching a episode of river monsters lol massive fish by the way, great job with the handle and release! Now if this wasn't keeping it realistic I'm not sure what is lol, awesome video brother!!
I KNEW it must be a grass carp, just from the title : ) There is nothing else that will eat that fruit. Because this fish is so big, i would say this is Triploid Grass carp, and not a natural one. The owners of the pond paid a lot of money for that fish, because it controls the weeds in that lake. At the same time it cannot spawn and overpopulate, like natural grass carp. Good thing you were careful with it - you don't want to kill that expensive fish
oh.. i thought they bought it. Grass carp can play important role in protecting shallow lakes from becoming too weedy. The problem is that once u introduce grass carp, they overpopulate and then u have no grass in the lake at all. For that purpose the farm create the so called Triploid Grass Carp, that is biologically changed so it cannot spawn. The Triploid Carp also get much bigger than the regular grass carp. You did the right thing for sure, keeping him in the water and releasing him there, to minimize the damage. They absolutely LOVE fruit and veggie, and once they find a tree whose fruit falls in the water, you can bet they will patrol there regularly. This is where i catch my grass carp too, but mine are smaller. You can use tomato, cucumber, corn, or just about any fruit to catch them. I would definitely go back for more : )
Hey Alex, Just a tip, I use a piece of nylon stocking to contain fragile chicken liver when catfishing, it may work for persimmons. I put the bait in a square piece of stocking and fold the edges up and insert the hook.
I'm Speechless Alex, all I can say is WOW!!! I've been following your channel from early days and I cannot remember you catching something a Carp that big!! You showed determination Patience and resilience in such Capture!!! Great Job Alex!! hope with had those fruits here in Central Florida!! LOL!!

His fishing equipment is fantastic, CONGRATULATIONS his fishing was incredible, it reminds me a lot where I fish here.👍🎣😉
That was a new one by me! When I was a kid we used to fish a pond with a big Mulberry Tree overhanging the water. Common Carp would slurp the berries that fell into the water as soon as they dropped. And the Chubs we caught would poop purple berries. So your logic was solid Alex! Excellent video, I really enjoyed watching you tangle with that monster!
All I've seen on the interweb about catching grass carp is that's how you do it: bait up with fruit and cast it out under fruit trees. That, and cherry tomatoes. Haven't been able to make it work. Maybe not what you want to catch, but gotta love drag peeling like that.
S Smith was here!! Lol holy crap that was a big carp!! It's amazing how powerful they are! 40 pound carp on a dang persimmon, now that is what I call Realistic!!
I thought seeing my dad get a 40+ lb mirror carp on a topwater Rapala was strange enough, but to see one on a piece of fruit? Yeah, definitely something that sounds like it's possible, but also hard to believe. And yet you have footage of it. Great work. And also good on you for recognizing that grabbing breaded line with a big fish isn't the best thing to do so you backed off so he didn't run and slice into your hand. I've seen people cut up their hands trying to get lures out of snags. This video was a pleasant surprise and definitely falls under the category of realistic. Big hook. Big fruit. Big fish.
You may not have wanted to catch that carp but it's the biggest fish ever on this channel and you landed it on light gear! I've been a subscriber for nearly 4 years and nothing even close to the size of that monster!
Wow. What a fish!! I had a Carp grab my worm at a local pond the other day. Thankfully, he came off. It was about half the size of the one you caught. Crazy stuff!!
Wow! Very nice carp. Even though not the target species, that looked like an exciting battle! Especially on only 10lb braid...awesome!!! Way to Keep It Realistic!!!
This time of year both catfish and carp will feed under fruit and nut trees. I have caught many catfish under muscatine vines once the grapes start falling into the water.
Dude - nice fish! We have persimmons here in Illinois and you're right - when they're not yet ripe they're the sourest! But when they're ripe they are quite good! Keep up the good work!
Wow! What a fantastic catch and the size of it,I’m guessing about 30 lbs.easy. I also liked the way you handled that beautiful fish with all the care trying not to hurt it.👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome fish! I caught a grass carp a bit smaller than that in a small farm pond earlier this year when fishing for bluegill. I was just as surprised as you when you hooked into yours. It was a thrill getting a 25lb fish in with 6lbs test though
screw Tackle Warehouse, looks like i'm going to the Farmers' Market
😂🤣😂😂😂🤣
😂
Lol😂
😂😂😂😂
Lamo!🤣🤣🤣
Anyone who says a carp is a trash fish has never hooked into and fought one of those bruisers. They will change their minds rather quickly! Great catch Alex!
That thing stood up and turned around 😮
@@RealisticFishing You should get some tackle to get into carp fishing on occasion. :P

Wow thanks for sharing that was a big fish

Anybody else and that title would've been clickbait. You do keep it realistic!
That was AWESOME! I like how you really respect the fish too. A lot of people would have just cut the line when they got him up to the bank since the hook looked deep. Cudos Alex.
Dude this was one of the sweetest things ive seen in a bit bro... Always wanted to try something like this out.
This was a crazy day!
Man what a big carp! On another thought, I am really intrigued by the wooden box that was partially on the bank to your left.
Now that's some REALISTIC FISHING for ya! 🍻 your reaction had me laughing so hard haha keep up the awesome content 👏
You have the best fishing channel on UA-cam hands down
Wow, thanks!
You didn't mention your adrenaline rush and the fact you were probably shaking all over. I would have been.🤯🤠
You quickly forget all your problems when you've got a fish that size on the end of your line. Adrenaline rush for sure!
I believe that was covered by “I need a beer.” 😂
That’s a Monster . Bro !
Now you gotta market your own Realistic Persimmon Bait for carp . Proven to catch monsters CARP !!! 😎😎😎😎😎
Dude!!! This was craziest thing I've seen on fishing UA-cam... That had to be a record breaking carp...I've never seen a carp that big
THAT FISH WAS MASSIVE! CONGRATS!
Holy smokes i gotta try fruit that was AWESOME AND A GOOD FIGHT
I need a beer from just watching the video
I am drinking a beer while watching this video.
Wow! What a fish!
That is what I thought. What a fight. I love it when the fish has a advantage vs under sized line or rod.
So, when is the Berkley Gulp! Alex's Signature Persimmon bait going to be available to the public?
Using a variety of baits and lures I've barely managed to even get any nibbles recently
Meanwhile on realistic fishing lol
Glad to see you backing off. The water in my pond is not very clear but the bass spook very easily. We got five this morning but they were all under a pound.
i caught a 20lb carp on 4lb test with size 6 hook, fought him for like 15 min.
I might need to get some persimmons for carp fishing lol
its really cool those carp will sit under those trees and similar fruit baring ones and wait for them to drop. ive heard of this but man its cool to see it on film!!!!!
dang that's a huge carp
I knew you were gonna catch a carp before you cast out!! Also, you were so excited after, you painted to the wrong tree. 🤣 😂
yes, where I got the fruit
Damn Alex, that is a monster Carp. KIR! Good idea using that persimmon.
having a beer and watching Alex hook fish with a freakin fruit! Today is a good day
What the hell, I thought I was watching a episode of river monsters lol massive fish by the way, great job with the handle and release! Now if this wasn't keeping it realistic I'm not sure what is lol, awesome video brother!!
When realistic crosses into surrealistic....fantastic catch!

i need a beer too! : ) good job man
I think it was put in the lake on purpose. Didn't think it would eat fruit from the bank, but I was so wrong. 😅

Next level budget fishing. You know, cherries with the stem and leaf on them also work great as inline spinners! Awesome catch!
I once caught a 15 pound gar on 6 pound mono and a 1/4 oz rooster tail. That story is NOTHING compared to this one! Congrats!
I watched a YT video of a guy catching bass with a leaf... yes a leaf! 🤯
I know Alex can catch a fish with a piece of fruit.
Awesome video. Never would have thought of that. That’s why I watch realistic fishing 🎣
Very clever bait choice Alex. Kudos for landing it, and getting it off the hook!
OMG! That was the most awesome video ever!!! I LOVE catching carp. You did a great job getting that beast in and releasing it. Well done sir!
That was awesome! That carp was huge! I love hearing the reel scream line when a big fish is on the line! Good job!!
1 of the greatest fighting fish even if you didn't want to catch it..
It was a battle
Wow!, that was fun, and intense. It's always a treat to hook into something much bigger than you expected, and actually land it.
Alex. You've shown your true fishing intellect here. That thing was so massive you put your entire hand in that things mouth !
This was absolutely amazing, your fishing skills are out of this world lmao. Gained a fan today!

I knew carp will eat almost anything, but a fruit? Thats a new one for me. Nice job on that tank!

Big fruit, big fish 👍👍
I’m a carp angler, and I have to say, that is an impressive fish! Nice job!!
I may have to try fruit as bait now.....that was Epic!!
I legit was watching this like a suspense movie. Thanks for sharing. Thoroughly enjoyed. Keep it realistic
Dude that was cool as hell! I would have never thought you could catch grass carp on persimmons! Congratulations!
Sometimes the best catches are the ones you weren't trying for. Awesome catch!

My God Alix! I need a beer after watching you wrestle this beast. My nerves are shot. Awesome!!!
That was a huge fish. Glad you were able to get the hook out and release him.
I never thought of doing that with a persimmon but really makes sense. Nice job landing that giant. You earned that beer!
I don't like catching carp, but when I do- I need a beer too😂
Good angling homie, you landed it!
S Smith was here!! Lol holy crap that was a big carp!! It's amazing how powerful they are! 40 pound carp on a dang persimmon, now that is what I call Realistic!!

That was AWESOME!!! May be one of your best videos I've seen!!!
Dang that’s satisfying to get your bait and catch the fish under the same tree. Naturealistic! They like mulberry trees too 🌴
Chen I as a kid we used to catch carp like that in the Little Kanawha river with mulberries as bait
That was awesome a screaming drag is the best sound ever
I catch grass carp a lot in a spot near me only hooked 1 that size. They are super fun. Sick video.
That was awesome. Carp are so much fun to catch. That was huge. Got to love the fight.
So many people don't want to catch carp, but damn they are a lot of fun, especially on light gear. I'll take it any day.
You may not have wanted to catch that carp but it's the biggest fish ever on this channel and you landed it on light gear! I've been a subscriber for nearly 4 years and nothing even close to the size of that monster!
It was a giant 👍
"I need a beer!"
Haha
That was a fun one to watch.
Carp love persimmons as a Carp fisherman in the Carolinas I've used them and caught plenty in the 40 plus pound range
thats because you are so awesome
Wow! That was freaking crazy man..on a persimmon..that's just nuts..an insanely large monster..what a catch..loved it..wooohoo..keep it realistic..
Awesome fish! Up north here in Pittsburgh, mulberries work also for massive common carp, when found around bodies of water. KIR!
I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat. Great video. “Ole carp” 😉
That fish will test your skills and tackle for sure. What a fish....
Wow. What a fish!!
I had a Carp grab my worm at a local pond the other day. Thankfully, he came off. It was about half the size of the one you caught. Crazy stuff!!
Wow that was impressive. Never would have thought to try a persimmon. Keeping it realistic!
I was today years old when I found out you could catch a fish on a damn persimmon! Holy sh&@!!! Huge carp by the way. Damn that was entertaining.
Amazing, that was so fun to watch! Keep doing what you are doing. You are my go to fishing channel on UA-cam.
This was one of your best videos, Alex, and that was a giant fish!
Beer well earned. That was a solid carp right there.
What a carp, I'm used to seeing big double digit carp back home in the uk but what a beast that thing was
Boy that looked fun 🎣
That is the wildest thing I have ever seen. Catching a fish on a persimmon. That is awesome 👍👍
Fruit! WTF? I had to see this!
You deserve a beer after that nice catch and release!
What a catch! Didn't really think the bait would work. Great video.
Wow! Very nice carp. Even though not the target species, that looked like an exciting battle! Especially on only 10lb braid...awesome!!! Way to Keep It Realistic!!!
Not what you wanted but who are you kidding? You loved every minute of it. Great catch!
It was intense!
This time of year both catfish and carp will feed under fruit and nut trees. I have caught many catfish under muscatine vines once the grapes start falling into the water.
The hook was far, I was glad you got it! What a Bowser, Congrats!
Nice carp Alex. They can be extremely fun to catch. Enjoy your beer. KIR

Dude, hats off!!!
You truly are the realisti Fisherman!!!
Wow! What a fantastic catch and the size of it,I’m guessing about 30 lbs.easy. I also liked the way you handled that beautiful fish with all the care trying not to hurt it.👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I would’ve rather caught that giant carp than a smaller catfish. Awesome video!
Hey Realistic Fishing!! I recently caught my PB Minnesota Bass (5lb 8 oz) on a Texas rigged Dinger, Awesome giant carp tho!!
If Minnesota is like main, that's a giant bass.
@@lisatwitchell403 heck yea, the bass is on my profile pic
Awesome fish! I caught a grass carp a bit smaller than that in a small farm pond earlier this year when fishing for bluegill. I was just as surprised as you when you hooked into yours. It was a thrill getting a 25lb fish in with 6lbs test though
nice carp dude , that was great
Here in the UK we use fruit (such as blackberry) to catch fish also. Always worth a try as fish are bound to eat them.
An absolutely amazing catch. I think you earned two beers and a bourbon !!! Great video.
I used to do the same thing with mulberries for carp when I was a youngin.
I've had persimmon pie. Never thought of using it as bait. LOL
They are also good to put in a jar of moonshine. A friend told me 😉
